It's not a message board as only the "owner" can post information. Some give other people authority to post as long as it is on the subject matter that the "owner" wants. I read one on the war in Iraq as it gives me all the "news" that is available, not just the bias of one news orginization. You will see posts from soldiers in Iraq, correspondents, BBC reports, New Times, etc. That way you get all points of view at one location and in near realtime.
There are serveral by lawyers that post their opinions and other's opinions on issues about "internet law" and where it is headed. One law blogger attended a big conference, invitation only, of the movers and shakers in technology. She reported what went on and who said what, while there were no public news reports on the conference or the results.
Pick a subject and search using Google and you will likely find a blog.
