I had that problem yesterday. Rebooting my computer took care of it.
Repetitive postings on Zeev's thread, and no new posts for more than 5 minutes. Something wrong?
Site is slowing down too! ll:55 am PST
Glitch? Zeev's post #1711--page does not display. Maybe overload?
I hadn't noticed that! Thanks.
Actually, I edited the post, and simply took out all the bolds, but I'll try again. left bracket, b, right bracket, prior to the word "bolds", then left bracket, b, right bracket This does seem a bit cumbersome <g, and I'm sure there is an easier way; aha, I see in Preview it did it again. I was trying to highlight ONLY the word "bolds". The preview does not show the bracket,b,bracket prior to the word "bolds", but it does appear here as I write. Thanks for your help.
ZRAN: Per Pacific Crest Securites web site, they initiated coverage of ZRAN on 6/20 with a Buy rating (report unavailable to me). Per Briefing.Com, posted earlier today: Pacific Crest is concerned that ASP erosion at 15% or more makes it challenging for co to achieve firm's estimated 2002 DVD volume shipments. Believes that ZRAN is less exposed to these ASP declines than ESS due to its strength in Japan.
Matt, how do I post an active hyperlink? Do I have to add the http:// in front of the www.? Also, tried to bold something, and I could not bracket the words properly. The bold extended to the next sentence. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Thanks. AK

Pacific Crest Securities is an investment bank.
ZRAN: 200,000 share block traded at 14.81 (1:00 p.m.).
Can you add a truck driving over the "body"? <vbg>
ZRAN: Are you referring to the WSJ article from 7/8, where Ross rates ZRAN a strong buy? Here's the snippet on ZRAN: The areas that have done relatively well over the last year are consumer electronics, like DVD players, large TVs, MP3 players and digital cameras," said InStat's Cullen. " A lot of that is because consumer confidence stayed up," he said.
But with consumer confidence ebbing, will DVD chip makers like ESS Technology Inc. (ESST) and Zoran Corp. (ZRAN) continue to enjoy robust growth?
Investec's Ross thinks so. "Consumer electronics will be the biggest driver of semiconductors for the next five years," said the analyst, who rates ESS and Zoran strong buys. He estimates that chip revenue from DVD players will grow from $4.9 million in 2002 to $8.4 million in 2006.
ZRAN [Briefing.Com]Zoran and ESST fall on Pacific Crest comments (ZRAN) 18.27 -0.98: Pacific Crest is concerned that ASP erosion at 15% or more makes it challenging for co to achieve firm's estimated 2002 DVD volume shipments. Believes that ZRAN is less exposed to these ASP declines than ESS due to its strength in Japan.
Oops--I rebooted. Now everything works fine. Sorry if you went to any trouble for me. AK
Matt, on Zeev's site tonight I have tried to use hyperlinks in three different posts, including one to Larry Dudash's site on iHUB. None of them work for me. Could you tell me if the problem is on my end, or yours? Thanks. AK
Bob, FWIW, I had three times yesterday when things stalled out for me on your site, but absolutely no problems today, so whatever tweaking you did has made a difference. If you can't put in an Ignore or Skip Poster function for a while, Matt's bending the ear of a couple of posters on Zeev's thread could keep things from getting out of hand. I noticed Zeev felt compelled to stop a schoolyard fight <g> today, and that is a true waste of his time. I see others have also complained about the "all caps, no content" poster. Hope Matt's talked to him already too. Maybe keeping a 3-post or 5-post a day limit would help, but so far Zeev's old SI thread is getting the abuse the last two days. A word to the wise. <g>
Larry, when I signed on to iHUB, Matt assured me that iHUB would keep the posters in line as to civility and discourse. Please, while they figure out an Ignore feature, write to Matt on the Q&A thread. Nobody should have to take abuse here. This isn't SI <g. http://www.investorshub.com/boards/board.asp?board_id=504
Oh no! Monitor envy! <g>
Merrill cuts chip equip stocks (AMAT, KLAC, NVLS)
By Emily Church [CBS MarketWatch]
Merrill Lynch cut its ratings, 2003 and in some cases 2002 earnings and sales estimates on 13 semiconductor equipment stocks, telling clients overnight "we believe the likelihood of a pause in semiconductor equipment orders in the second half of 2002 has significantly increased over the past several weeks." Stocks cut to midterm buys from strong buys include: Applied Materials (AMAT) , KLA-Tencor (KLAC) , Lam Research (LRCX) , Novellus (NVLS) , MKS Instruments (MKSI) and Entegris (ENTG) .
1st Hint: 2001
2nd Hint: Stanley Kubrick
Can I put my 2 cents in on this too? Zeev, being the efficient sort he is <g> often uses the edit function to let everyone know when he buys or sells. He simply appends the message to whatever he wrote while the edit window is open. Naturally this drove lot of the SI'ers nuts because nobody could find them. Zeev ultimately would use the words "In edit..." so the edits could be found relatively easily. If you have the ability to allow a different color, at least for Zeev when he uses the words "In edit" or (as happens)"In re-edit" it would be very much appreciated, and certainly, it would be a feature SI can't provide <vbg>.
Bob, read about your "arrangement" with Zeev in a post by him on his SI thread. In a subsequent post from Larry Dudash, I was surprised you don't make him a similar offer. He and Zeev are like point and counterpoint; different approaches, but very informative to most readers. I don't remember exactly, but I think the last Yahoo Group he set up had 700 or so members. Please, make it it easy for him to come over to IHUB--and make a good business decision for yourselves at the same time. PS: Just ask Zeev about Larry if you don't realize his pull.
One would think MVHA should be happy to have such work to do.
Zeev, NMTC is hot today. I know you looked at it before; do you have an opinion now? CC on Wed.

Bob, based on my SI experience, as a board becomes very active, as Zeev's has, "Ignore" is almost an imperative as there frequently is no time to read everyone. However, to maintain civility, perhaps you could ask that posters don't go out of their way to announce when they have put someone on ignore, or maybe you can call it something else, like "Skip this poster".
Hi Zeev, I'm another lurker out of the shadows--now I can publicly thank you for all the knowledge you have so generously shared. All the best.
