Apple to buy Tesla?
My last reply on the subject (and yes, I have read his books). Cramer made most of his money with other people's money running a hedge fund, but this is where the story gets interesting:
Not even "JC" claims this:
Quite the contrary, Seeking Alpha rivals "Wrong Way Corrigan" when it comes to articles written by proponents and detractors of a stock's future price direction. There are occasional pieces that get it right, but for the most part its almost comical how so much apparently well written and well thought out analysis can get it so wrong when you look at actual price performance following the publication of articles. The only caveat is that I haven't read them all, nor even a statistically significant number of the 1,000's of articles published on the site, i.e. I could have only read only those out of the 90% of SA articles that just got it dead wrong, but I don't think so. Due diligence, maybe. Accurate price prediction, unbelievably bad. Makes Jim Cramer look like a genius. (Never thought I'd put "Jim Cramer" and "genius" in the same sentence.)
"Pump & Dump"
Pump and dump is a phrase born of the sleazy boiler rooms set up in the 1980's and 1990's to sell microcap penny stocks to unsuspecting and gullible investors. I see it used on this thread to describe every press release issued by the company, no matter what the substance or content of the information being communicated. There is no "pump" since the company has never to my knowledge, (although I have only been following this company for 8 years) disseminated false or misleading information. It's also unlikely that there has been a "dump," based on the fact that these PR's rarely make an appreciable difference in the stock price. Irresponsible ignorance has no place in an intelligent discussion related to the merits of investing this company, no matter which side of the bull/bear debate one choses to support. To continually address every positive statement about the company as part of a pump and dump scam discredits the accuser and renders further posts from him/her pathetically hollow and a waste of everyone's time.
This is a great forum with mostly intelligent discussions by both passionate supporters and just as passionate detractors and skeptics. Let's leave the fallacious dribble for the myriad of penny stock forums that are more suited for accusations and chronicling of true pump and dump schemes.
Thinking aloud about a worse case scenario:
Exactly my point. It won't take much to move this stock should a link between the company and Ebola materialize across stock forums everywhere.
Could history repeat? Below is a statement by Dr. Diwan made in the middle of the global H5N1 (avian-bird flu) pandemic scare of 2005-2006. NNVC went from (split adjusted) $0.25 to $12 in less than a year surrounding the global scare. At that time, there was not much more than the mere linking NNVC to avian flu anti-viral research and development. This business of stock speculation is not an exact science, but the mere linking of NNVC with Ebola in the weeks ahead, however different the circumstances, could light quite a fire under the stock.
Vaccines and Therapeutic Development
Tuesday, January 31, 2006
The Company President, Dr. Anil Diwan, has received many inquiries from its shareholders questioning the vaccines and other therapeutic treatments that are being developed by other companies for H5N1 and he responded:
"The history of H5N1, as well as that for human influenza, suggests that the vaccines that provide 100% protection against the strain for which they were developed, will provide between 60% to 80% protection the following year yet diminish every year, requiring constant new vaccine development.
Total vaccination (i.e. 300 million doses for US alone, and 5 billion doses for the entire world) is required for a vaccine approach to be effective. This is unlikely to be accomplished.
Vaccines alone cannot control Bird Flu (H5N1) and other highly pathogenic influenza organisms from wreaking worldwide havoc. It is also necessary to develop specific, targeted anti-viral therapeutic agents such as AviFluCide-I(TM) to help both contain outbreaks as well as treat those patients who have not received a prior vaccination.
The world's scientists expect that H5N1 will continue to mutate and become more transmissible and less virulent over time. This means fatality rate (currently 60%-80%) will decrease some, but number of cases will rise sharply.
Given the mutations and antigenic drift, because of which vaccines will always have limited effectiveness in control, new treatments such as ours, will be essential.
To our knowledge, NanoViricides is currently the only company that is developing drugs specifically against H5N1 itself although there may be efforts afoot at many pharmaceutical companies that are still unknown to us."

Liberia closes borders as Ebola hits major west African cities
Monrovia (AFP) - Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has announced the closure of most of the Ebola-hit country's land borders after the deadly tropical virus spread to two of west Africa's largest cities.
Liberia, along with neighbouring Guinea and Sierra Leone, is struggling to contain an epidemic that has infected some 1,200 people and left at least 670 dead across the region since the start of the year.

There was no validation of the article in the court's opinion. In fact, quite the opposite as the court went out of it's way to distiguish between fact and opinion, the former being actionable and the latter being protected free speech. If anything was validated at all by the court it was that the Seeking Alpha article was opinion, not fact.
As for allegations that the case was, "thrown out," the only issue that was decided in the case was that the Company could not use pre-trial discovery to force Seeking Alpha to disclose the identity of the author. Hardly the, "pimp-slap," alleged in this post. Actually, maybe it was because I have no idea what is meant by, "pimp-slap," other than what it states on it's face, i.e. getting slapped by a pimp. Based on Judge Kern's order, this would hardly be an opinion, it would be an allegation of fact. But that's another case.

Here is an update on my July 5th post about ordering the $440 "Wellness Bundle."
The money was debited from my account within 24 hours of placing the order. I received the order, or at least part of the order about a week later (paid for expedited delivery). One of the three items, the facial serum, was missing. I called the next day and talked to a very nice woman who apologized and said she would "expedite" delivery of the missing product. It's now been two weeks since that call and no facial serum, so I called back.
My call today was taken by, "Mike." He looked up my order and told me that it was sent out July 8th. I said, "I know that, as I just explained, the facial serum was missing." Mike replied, "There is no record of that."
Ok, mistakes happen. I asked him to send it out now, since I had already paid for it on July 5th, plus $4.95 for "expedited shipping." Mike said he couldn't do that and I would have to talk to an, "Account Executive." Why? Because, explained MIke, that I had asked for expedited shipping. We went back and forth for awhile and then MIke said he would, "send it up to an Account Executive," himself.
To be continued.........
.....would have thought that Star would have signed a bike sports figure yesterday.
I thought they might call, but I'm way too busy to take on another job.
I had started taking Anatabloc about a year ago, as directed on the bottle. About six months ago, I tried the face cream, just out of shareholder curiosity more than anything else. The benefits of each product seemed subtle at best. When the face cream ran out, I didn't order it again as it seemed like a pricy curiosity. At the same time, I discontinued the Anatabloc tabs to see if I could recognize any changes.
To use a cliché, actions speak louder than words: Yesterday I went online and ordered the "Wellness Bundle" (200 lozenges, 1 facial cream and 1 facial serum) for $440. First, my body has not done as well absent the Anatabloc. I ride a mountain bike every day (so long as the summer temps allow it) and definitely noticed the difference in the six weeks without Anatabloc. No contest.
But the biggest difference was seen on the discontinuation of the facial creme. What I thought was a subtle improvement in the look and feel of my skin, especially around my eyes, ended up to be a big time difference when I stopped. This is the best, "moisturizer" I have ever used, bar none, including the $300 moisturizer some hot Nordstrom 30-something woman sold me earlier this summer (it's still half full, if anyone is interested).
Let's not confuse the stock price with the value of these products. Eventually one will catch up with the other.

1976 Steelers
Best NFL Defense of All Time
1. 1976 Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers defenses of the 1970s are legendary, but the 1976 unit was the best (slightly better than the '75 squad). Here's why: 28. That's how many points the Steel Curtain surrendered in the last nine games of the season. That's a total. As a result, Pittsburgh, which started the season 1-4, made it all the way to the AFC Championship Game, which they lost to the Raiders 24-7. (It's worth noting that Pittsburgh running backs Franco Harris and Rocky Bleier were both injured in that contest.)
Yea, what does he know?

You are absolutely correct. If 10 years of litigation was completely settled for a one time payment of $5M, that fact would have to be disclosed. The parties cannot circumvent a legal obligation to disclose by some confidentiality agreement, unless the confidentiality component has a substantial competitive purpose. There is more coming and it will make the $5M pale in comparison.
No way this company, this management and most of all the caliber legal team they assembled closes out all legal issues for $5M. Whatever that token figure represents, it does not represent the culmination of this infringement-saga litigation. But maybe more important is today's, "candle in the making." Whereas I can't describe the most bullish candle in the world, I certainly can recognize it when I see it:
Maybe this partially explains the 100% gap up on July 24th.

I learned about Rosacea by doing a Google search for Anatabloc. (Rosacea is a chronic skin condition that makes your face turn red and may cause swelling and skin sores that look like acne.) The search led me to The Rosacea Forum. Here are two posts six months apart by someone who after suffering with this condition for 15 years, turned to Anatabloc. In-between the two posts below are virtually weekly updates by this person (along with the results of many other Rosacea sufferers) chronicalling his/her experience with Anatabloc. No "pump" here, just the facts.

It is fallacy to judge the worth of an opinion by the degree of enthusiasm with which it is presented.
The Internet is a breeding ground of wannabes who think that the more squiggles on a chart the smarter they are. Technical analysts, or at least those who pretend to be, are the antitheses of trend followers. To each his own, but the common bond between all of us is to make money in stocks, no matter how simple or complicated we want to make it.
