Lee, haven't been here in ages, but as I watched the wild swings in the futures action tonight, I wondered if you were still trading them like you used to when I was a regular here.
Now days lots of keys are also electronically 'keyed' to the car. You can get a key physically made for a few bucks & that will get you in the car, but if chip in the handle of the key wasn't programed ($100 at the dealer), then it's no-go.
Cat get on your keyboard?
Just watching today. Work is keeping my focus elsewhere.
COMPQ talking to resistance - Similar charts for NDX & SPX
but certainly a $5 American gold piece would be more easily bartered for necessities than a certificate saying you own 100 shares of Newmont Mining.
I agree with your point, but it occurred to me, how small would the gold piece have to be in order to be worth only $5?
YM+120, NQ+26, ES+14
Abandoned baby? More like an abandoned elephant on the NDX daily....
I was thinking more vampire-ish, but plenty of blood either way
The NDX 1 minute chart looks like a bat right now....
If there's a PPT, they should be massed at the Nq 2151 border; locked and loaded with bayonets fixed.]
40 point bounce in 25 minutes - Not bad.
Markets look to be bear flagging off the Jul/Aug plunge
Would be interesting to close in the middle of Monday's gap up.
NDX approaching the gap down area & $SPX approaching its 38.2 fib from 1120
Punched into/through both easily enough...
NDX approaching the gap down area & $SPX approaching its 38.2 fib from 1120
I'm in the Norfolk area - I'm glad I wasn't just imagining things!
Ym's +140, Nq's +29.50, Es +17.00
Here's hoping it lasts longer than it did yesterday :)
Still lurking about here. Hope all is well with you.
Last 30-45 min NDX has weakened considerably against COMPX.
Waiting for an up/down resolution.
Hope Godot hasn't left for the weekend yet....
NDX at the top of the 30 Nov 10 gap.
Down to 2130 for the fill.
COMPX came within a whisker of closing the gap from 30 Nov 10
EDIT - closed it now.
Was that really Ben in the photos or a Ben look-alike?
I think it was an image of his face inserted into the photo of the bar scene.
No indication that it was intended to be satire.

Waiting for resolution is like waiting for Godot.
Godot may not arrive until tomorrow......
checking in from vacation--
Hope you found it restorative.
I wouldn't touch SLV
Why not?
Ha! I was sure it wasn't true. I just knew you didn't live in the basement.
HOW THE HELL ARE FUTES GREEN?What happened.TQQQ tagged 80.85 ahs.
Futures continue to trade for 15 min after market close, yes? So they captured the AH drop from IBM & TXN before they closed.
Look at the value of the futures & compare to the closing value of NDX.
As of this post I see futures -7.00 @ 1798.50 while NDX closed at 1819.
So for us regular folk, futures are really -21.
Is staying in at 85% per your model?
Thanks!
But just wandering how much of Today's trading
( near the close ) will be due to reduced margin
allowed ? Starting DEC 1,2009
First I've heard of this - Would you post details or a link?
Thanks
September volumes have spiked well above plan. FWIW.
Everyone has resorted to selling on ebay..... :)
OK, thanks. That helps explain it.
