PSTI Took a starter position @3.24.
DARA I know that J. Napodano is really pounding the table about this being a steal at .88, but this drop worries me. Anyone have any thoughts?
CVEO- We're on almost exactly the same page with our cost basis--mine is $13.35--and last week it seemed like it was just a matter of how much I was going to lose. So I'm not going to be greedy here, any profit will be good.
Best of luck.
CVEO Low was $11.60, so IYO it might go to $15-ish? TIA
Z.- Honestly wondering, not being sarcastic: is there room for any discussion or DD about stocks on this board? If not, will remove from follows. TIA.
CVEO Hard to believe after being down so much, but I might actually make some $$$ here.
SNSS & ADHD Two failed PH III trials. Once again, the very risky nature of betting on biotech binary events.
How contagious is Ebola? Less than you think.
Good NPR article with scientific facts, not hysterical hype.

OT: I was thinking about China and Ebola this morning. Given that they're Africa's largest trading partner by far and have tens of thousands of people working there, they must be concerned.
Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if they've already had a domestic occurence from a traveler, similar to the recent Dallas incident. But of course, given the nature of their regime, we'll never hear about it.
You bet, my friend, every Friday. Got a cold Bass Ale or two waiting.
You have a great one!
HH In 10K shares @.595.
Hooper-Holmes provides health risk assessment services to the life insurance and health industries. I think that they're in a good niche, and one of these days, going to be bought out.
HH Have played this one many times over the past years. Just put a bid in @.59. Edit: .595
Once in awhile, even a blind squirrel finds a nut.
ACST Out 20K shares @.665 from .59. Still a bit down from Monday but that eases the pain. Probably done with this one.
CVEO Director Gary L. Rosenthal bought 8,000 shares on Tuesday. Average price of $12.21 per share, total value of $97,680.
ACST I'm still trying to figure out the whole debacle, it's still a bit puzzling to me.
A very experienced and knowledgeable biotech investor suggested that part of the problem is guilt by association with AMRN.
I'm inclined to agree.
jl: When I asked your opinion about ACST and krill oil ( #msg-104906174 ) you said that you were not a fan of the company, krill oil, or CaPRE. You very well may be correct, the market certainly agrees.
I just lost a fair amount on the rather puzzling PPS reaction to ACST's good PH II results. Dew wonders if part of this was caused by guilt by association with AMRN. I'm inclined to agree.
Perhaps the market is just skeptical about these sort of products in general.
All the best. -ob
I hear you but I'll give you another analogy, and this is coming from someone who has been doing this for 45 years.
I'm a singles hitter. I don't spend all my time trying to hit home runs. 10%, 20%, move on. Cut my lossses quickly if necessary.
If loading in quantity is your thing, then more power to you, but very often that just turns into losing in quantity.
Best of luck, over & out.
LOL. I hope so too.
I've played FNMA many, many times over the years. Most of the time I've done well (bought a chunk yesterday @ $1.54, sold @ $1.74, so I'm not greedy, just try to profit from small bites.) Bought some today @ $1.49, will probably sell in the next half hour or so. Again, being cautious and not greedy.
Best of luck to you!
ACST In a moderate-sized position @.59. Just looking to recoup some of my losses from it.
The charitable trust may decide not to sell, of course, but the street hates uncertainty.
J.P. Morgan agreed to release the charity from the lock-up restriction. They're allowed to do that.
The fear is that the charitable trust managers will now decide that the stock is over-priced and quickly sell.
ACST Have a bid in @ .59.
Congrats, very nice trade. Those are the good ones: in and out quickly, no enduring weeks of worrying about FDA crap.
Here's a PR from the real IRS about the scam, telling people that they don't call you up and say they're coming over to arrest you unless you immediately wire them money.
http://www.irs.gov/uac/Newsroom/IRS-Reiterates-Warning-of-Pervasive-Telephone-Scam
This has been going on the past year or two. What's amazing is the amount of people (usually older) who have actually been sending them money.
OT: Airline stocks getting smacked on Dallas Ebola fears.
What bodily fluids from a stranger are you in contact with while flying, much less from an infected person? Just ridiculous.
News flash: most American are not scientifically literate. You'd think the zombie apocalypse was here.
Unless you've had direct contact with the bodily fluids of an infected person, you are 100% safe. Better chance of dying from texting while driving! A lot of misinformed hysteria about this.
bob- Any thoughts on CVEO? TIA
The small biotech market has radically changed from sell the pop to sell the run-up 'cause there's not going to be any pop.
Yep, could have been worse. You win some and you lose some. I don't dwell on the losers, just move on.
I tend not to revisit trades that went wrong, so I'm done forever with ACST. But whenever and wherever this one settles and stabilizes it might be good for a bounce trade.
ACST Just got murdered with this one, sold in PM for a substantial loss.
Yep, I agree about the AMRN factor. Perhaps the market is just not excited in general about fish/krill oil products, seems too low-tech.
