Hi azguy,
I'd like to get your opinion on the facility as I am very familiar with what happened. My understanding is that GTAT has to get all of the furnaces out by the end of this year. A chinese firm has purchased few of them which still leaves thousands. Not sure where/how they are going to decom that many by the end of the year on a tight budget.
I can't imagine Apple turning that entire building into a data center. Have you heard any rumblings about what may be going on??
What do you think sparked the jump today??
Where did I say they need anything from LQMT??
Fact: LQMT/Materion/Apple/Engel are in business TOGETHER.
Question for the board:
Has "Tommyboy" pulled the wool over Apple/Materion/Engels eyes?? There are two views here (for the most part). LQMT is a sh*t ball sandwhich sucking the individual investor dry and LQMT is a promising company backed by multiple billion dollar companies.
These companies would NOT allow themselves to get taken advantage of by an inept CEO. They continue to invest millions and at the first sign of mismanagement I almost garauntee they have the power to boot any CEO out.
For that reason I am long on LQMT
FYI...there are more billion dollar companies int mix....
Strategic rebranding and revitalization with a different viewpoint
It would be nice if Force Touch contained LQMT
i'm going on about 7 but completely disregarded them for 5+ , just decided to add a bit to average down recently. Do you have any insights on the company to share??
Quantify "soon"
I was hoping to pick some at .10 but not so sure that's going to happen.
that was already known prior to the call...
IMO people will be covering their short positions and will start accumulating. The noneventful/poor CC seems to have revealed our support level...
What do you guys think??
It's a component for a Med Device
I scoped out his profile and the majority of his publicized business interests are aerospace and defense related with a few renewable energy and electronics/semiconductor. Let's see how long it takes for his old boss to poach him.......
How long have you been hitched to ZAAP??
Regarding RFQ's
I'm not even considering these RFQ's, but rather leads that should be put in the sales funnel or tossed. I think you are correct about them having the manpower to process that many true RFQ's if in fact they are viable which they certainly are not.
Very misleading this term RFQ....
Now that I think about it more...there are quite a few sales people on this board with industry experience. How many of you landed a whale while sitting at your office with your feet kicked up waiting for "RFQ's" to come through the Internet......none....you had to work your ass off turning over stones while cultivating relationships.
For the record...this CC went as I expected.
I found some crumbs in the cushions! I'm going to wait until after the call to decide if i buy or not...
If the PPS increase and i miss out on a couple of pennies then so be it but if it goes down i will definately average down AGAIN...
GLTA today!!
Now we need the sales numbers to increase, followed by the revenue! Then we get added to the USPS EV pilot program and we are well on our way!!
CE question:
If Apple uses our BMG to make a mold for their micro optics (camera lenses), is the mold considered CE since it is used to create a CE??

Yes...that car is very full!
Nope not all. GTAT still has 4000 sapphire furnaces moth balled and has until December to remove them. They've sold a handful of them to a Chinese company but they are still just sitting there.
Toooo funny....
Hey there guys,
I'm down to .145
Libre, great job! I look forward to your prediction coming true.
I found another "loose" connection in the rumored Apple car to add to what you discovered.
Chrysler has a number of BMG research engineers on a team. i'm not adding the links to them but they do exist, I found them. Combine that with Apple hiring an ex Chrysler Exec last week and what you found about engel/BMW...somewhat compelling??? Or am I'm just chasing unicorns?

I'll put some more time but I'm hoping some others can jump in and help connect the dots or dispel so I can move on.
Ahhh.... Great point. I didn't think about that..hmmm
This is going to take me into a whole new realm of research.
Tony,
I hope to see your DD some day. I think you're on to something. I've been combing through information on contract manufacturers but just haven't found anything solid yet. Good luck and I hope you get your capital to buy more shares!
Thanks...Bill is very accomplished and see watt you're getting at but I still contend that we are in a different place now than where we were before. Now we have multiiple companies more invested than previous ones guiding/pulling us instead of accomplished individuals. I know you can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink, let's hope our horse drinks the water.
I think we ALL long for that day! I am confident that we will get there (I just hope it's sooner than later) yes, yes I said it.....,that dirty little four letter word "HOPE"
Finally back from business travel out of the country (actually, Back to Phoenix from Seattle, may as well be another country climate wise)
Anyway GREAT job finding this Rige!
Here's some additional DD for us to consider as well:
https://www.linkedin.com/in/davidsonmarc
He's another one of the recent hires by Ape from the industry. Has experience with carbon fiber/BMG
Thank you for taking the time to put this together! It is much appreciated and it helped me gain a better understanding (actually an understanding) of IP.
Here is my reality:
As of today I my average in LQMT is .145. I hope to average down one more time. We shall see...
Here is our reality:
PPS today is .132 (or as some treat it...POS, still scratching my head). Regardless of any of the DD that we share OR not, knowledge of history, creative writing abilities, knowledge of IP and arrogance (a lot of that on this board).......wait for it.......the price per share is still .132, whether we like it not.
Back to my reality:
If this company returns to a shell of its former self then my life changes dramatically and if it does not then my life does not change...
I mistakenly placed two patents that were prior based on the publication date. My error..
My overall point is that LQMT has IP/patents that Vissur can't or will not go after.
Thanks. Not sure i really see it in the chart
Why are people randomly posting charts?? I'm still learning...
Based on this:
An oversimplified statement I will make is that any patent application with a date prior to May 20 2014 made by LQMT, Apple, or any other third party which eventually is approved and ends up in CIP is accessible by VPC.
Further, any notes or written down ideas made prior to May 20, 2014 by any of the relevant parties above are also accessible, should they ever go into the patent domain. Whether or not one could prove that ideas or notes preceded the Continuing Agreement date of May 20, 2014 is an entirely separate issue.
You both are 100% correct! Big companies very seldom work with small companies. So I ask this: why are Apple, Materion, Engel, IBM, Saint Gobain; all big companies working with OUR small company?? Not just working with but investing millions in.....
Sounds like you've made your decision to close your position??
You're welcome.
Another note is that most were automotive and aerospace
I buried my face into research this week hoping for some new DD but didn't uncover much. The most interesting item to note was the recent movement in BMG research scientists around the world. I limited my search to people that have made career moves in 2015. Here are the companies that hired:
Apple (of course)
Materion (of course)
GKN (in the UK)
Alcoa (Coatings)
Oerlikon Balzers (welding)
Secat
PPG coatings division
US Steel Corp
It seems that there's an arms race to tame this beast.
Hey there Watts,
Just want to thank you for post scripting your history lesson apologies...that's mighty thoughtful of you.
Have a great weekend everyone.
