I went back and reread your post and you I believe are mistaken. Anything having to do with the creation of patents pertaining to Liquidmetal are placed in CIP. Of course if Apple creates a new app that won't go into CIP. LMAO...
I think you may be mistaken sir. Anyone else want to put there 2 cents in?
I could be wrong, but from what I've read; I was under the impression that all of the patents were being held in CIP, including the joint patents with Apple as Liquidmetal owns the parents and Apple has agreed (MTA) to pay for the patents and all legal fees, but purchases exclusive rights in consumer electronics.
I am also very happy to see everyone working together for each others benefit on this board.
I have to agree with you that the ASM sincerely gave us all a good perspective of where we stand and what we "should" expect. I have to say though that I'm pretty confident that things are going to go very well with Paul at the helm.
If I may ask would you mind giving me some assistance or direction? You had mentioned that you have compiled enough data to swing trade Liquidmetal over the long term. I am working on learning technical analysis, but I am far from being a technical trader.
Unfortunately, I do not have near the position (shares) in Liquidmetal that you do though I really want to purchase more in the near future. I'm only 42 and my hopes are that it would help me to payoff a whole lot of medical debt from my sons surgeries and allow me to hold some for my kids future.
Let me know. I greatly would appreciate the help and if there is any way I can help you please feel free to call on me.
I thought you were saying I didn't have a job. I have 3 thank you. One includes being a fill time father.
I agree with everything you are saying. All I was saying is done people are mire motivated by creating value and winning than the money that comes along with it.
In reference to your comment "since you don't have a job". Why the hell would you lower yourself to say that? Really why?
I agree it's about money. I can speak from personal experience though. I'm money hungry and love financial success just as much as the next guy but I like winning more than the money!
I get the feeling you're right about Paul. I think it's more about winning and being successful at what he does than the money. I sure hope you're wing though about them funding away to hand out shares for nothing. I like the analogy of why buy the cow if you can get the milk for free. These guys need motivation and it's just like a kid. Handing it to them up front won't do a but off good.
Very interesting! Thank you for sharing. I just looked at it on my phone but I will definitely check it out when I get home.
The ENGEL machine was demonstrated by Glenton. I was impressed with the machine and it's finished product as they gave us a sample piece (Liquidmetal). I do not think you will see a video of the machine in operation for some time as they were very adamant about there being NO photography or videography. You are welcome to look at the sample piece on my Facebook page CIMA Equities LLC. I would post a picture here but I'm responding on my phone.
I hope this answers your question.
He sure did forget about making any such forecast on the conference call and he did make that forecast.
I think everyone will agree with my first impression of Steipp and that was he's a spin doctor that's trying to keep the energy of the company alive. I do think it would be a good idea to remember what one days if they're going to play spin doctor though. I'm not saying this because I don't think Steipp is capable as I believe he is and I also believe he has some great qualities as CEO.
On that note I'm going to sit back and watch what the pros like yourself have to say in regards to a buy in price and/or timing, so I can hopefully acquire mire shares at a resonable price. Any and all advice, thoughts etc.. are very much appreciated!
Thank you for clarifying that. I was confused by the term anvil. I do recall Paul saying that they were targeting small medical devices and the surgical stapler was one mentioned.
Thank you! Were you at three shareholders meeting yesterday?
Question regarding Canards
It sounds like medical is one of their primary targets. I cannot recall verbatim what was said, as I overheard something after the formal meeting. I did not hear anything though regarding anvils. What type of anvils are you talking about?
Someone asked a question regarding canards, but I could not hear the question. It may be best to pose that question to someone else or maybe someone will respond to this.
Thank you Watts and thank you for your excellent post!
I have to agree with your views on nepotism completely. I wasn’t around in the earlier days, so I’m merely speculating, but is it possible that in the earlier days family loyalty and stocks that of course they gave out at the cost of the shareholders may have been the only thing that Liquidmetal had to control their employees from divulging trade secrets or their partners’ secrets was. If I personally worked in a warehouse I wouldn’t mind sweeping their warehouse and owning half a million or more shares free of charge especially of Liquidmetal.
I COMPLETELY agree that public companies, including Liquidmetal should be subject to scrutiny. My only defense for Liquidmetal is that they do not have the kind of money that ENGEL, Materion or Apple has to monitor their trade secrets.
I'm not familiar with when LQMT had 215 employees and the Company was headquartered in Tampa. Only if you have time I would like to hear more about that.
Make it a great day!
Yes I spoke to Glenton in detail about recycling and all scrap is sent back to Materion and recycled.
I have to say I like your optimism! I agree that all of this is possible and I'm pretty optimistic myself. For now though let's just get the first big contract signed or any contract for that matter.
You got it my friend!
Thank you very much for your answer to my question. That helps me a lot!
Shareholders Perspectives of the Annual Meeting
Yore very welcome! I agree that the best way for everyone here to be successful is to work together and be encouraging.
I would like to share a philosophy I have and I encourage everyone here to try to use it as a rule of thumb.
Every man should be allowed his dignity, but every man will earn my trust and respect.
Shareholders Meeting Notes: I attempted to take the best of notes possible, but if anyone that attended the shareholders meeting can elaborate, clarify or believes there are any discrepancies in my findings please feel free to critique.
Paul Hauck
I was very impressed by Paul. He stated during his presentation that the company has a well-defined path for the sales of Liquidmetal. I have no doubt that Paul has the ability and more than the experience and the contacts necessary to move the company forward in a practical and profitable manner. My only concerns are as follow:
1) Paul is allowed to move forward on “his own accord” and it’s acknowledged by the board of directors and management that he (Paul) knows what is in the best interest of the company.
2) Paul is given the freedom to bring on the staff if and when needed to support his efforts. e.g. vetting of MSRs, etc…
Statements:
1) In Liquidmetal’s pursuit of the automotive industry they have chosen about 12 companies that fit into their business plan. (Paul Hauck)
2) It was mentioned that Liquidmetal has one MSR that they are targeting, that is responsible for 100s of millions of dollars in in product in the automotive industry.
3) Our goal is to sign on approximately 30 MSRs and 1-2 CLMs in the United States in 2014 and the plans are to do the same in Europe and Asia in 2015.
Customer Open House
Approximately 30 customer companies were present at the open house. (Tom Steipp)
Steipp stated that Liquidmetal has signed NDAs with almost all of their customers and they cannot release any information unless the customer permits or they have a signed contract; at that time information will be available by press release. (Tom Steipp)
ENGEL
Q what is the cost of the ENGEL machine?
A cost is approximately $350k-$400k. (Tom Steipp)
Q where is the ENGEL machine manufactured?
A Austria (Tom Steipp)
Q does local support and maintenance come from the Corona, CA facility?
A yes and they (ENGEL) have a great support and sales team at that facility. (Glenton Jelbert)
Q does Liquidmetal receive revenue from the sales of the ENGEL machine?
A I cannot comment on our arrangements with our partners; all I can say is we strive to and trust we have created win-win relationships with our partners. (Tom Steipp)
Materion
Materion has the capacity to manufacture 200,000 pounds of ingots annually.
Molds
Liquidmetal is has signed up what Paul believes are two of the best mold companies in the United States and the company is looking to sign up a third mold company as molds are a critical component of the business. (Paul Hauck)
Patents, Applications and Prototypes
Q how many patents does Liquidmetal currently have?
A 124 patents and applications (Tom Steipp)
Q how many prototypes does Liquidmetal currently have?
A 22 prototypes outstanding (Tom Steipp)
Licensees
Q when does Swatch’s licensing agreement expire?
A the Swatch licensing agreement is perpetual. (Tom Steipp)
Q rhetorical question (joke) “I believe the question (above) regarding Swatch’s licensing agreement was meant to ask can Apple use Liquidmetal in the Apple Watch”?
A as you know I cannot comment on our relationships with our licensees. If that concern were to arise that is a matter between Apple and Swatch that they will have to work out between themselves. (Tom Steipp)
Applied Medical
Q are you looking at Applied Medical as a customer?
A we are always looking (sarcasm and smirk). (Tom Steipp)
Regarding Nepotism
I understand Watts’ feeling about nepotism, but it’s just my opinion that the company has tried to keep things close or in the family due to the level of secrecy and the fear of information being leaked by general employees that either have no loyalty (nothing to lose) or are not vested in the company.
Would you mind articulating what this means to the shareholders as a whole? Thank you!
I will write up details and my notes from the shareholders meeting when I get back to my computer. There was though a hedge fund manager named David there that asked me questions as he was assessing Liquidmetal for their portfolio. In short I believe the company is on the right path. It seems like management and the board are giving Paul the freedom he needs to do what he has to do. I think we will see contracts before 2015.
I'm confused. Is this a joke? Elaborate please.
Likewise, but then it came down to just under $10 recently and I'm really glad I wasn't on the position to buy.
No apologies needed. He is doing incredible! In short they reconstructed his heart and he's jammin on half a heart. He brings me more joy everyday than anything I could ever imagined.
The morning GTAT crashed I was watching it and I had no money in the stock, but I had considered buying at 9.50. I had a sick feeling inside all day just thinking about the poor guys who had $100k plus vested in it.
Make it a great rest of the week and thank you for your wishes for my son.
I would be happy buying more at anywhere under 20 cents. Thank you for your comments regarding my son. He is doing awesome more after 9 major surgeries before he was 6 months old. We are very blessed! In regards to investing anything I can't afford to lose... I can't afford to not take chances right now. Thank you for your genuine concern though. I believe we shall all do well over the long-term. I could have invested in GTAT :O
Thank you and likewise!
Yes I own shares and if it takes off tomorrow I will be stoked. I just am waiting on some money I want to buy more share with. I have a son who born with half a heart and the medical bills buried us and I could really use more shares at the current price.
Yes Liquidmetal and Apple have a joint patent for creating some type of a hologram I believe. I was wondering the same thing if Apple was going to create a 3D logo.
I thought about that last week too, but I agree it's pure coincidence. We can only hope that something would come out tomorrow, but I kind of hope nothing does happen for a little while so I have time to buy more shares.
I can only imagine... I watch the trades almost every morning and I can see how easy it is or would be to manipulate the share price. I kind of hope these clowns are successful for the short term so I can buy more.
Customer cars wise guy.
They're were some nice cars parked in the front. It liked like everyone was entering through the front and in the back they had the event catered. The food looked good.
RE: Materion MTRN:NYSE
I have no idea what to think of this article, so I put it up here for comments.
Materion MTRN:NYSE
Light, Rigid, and Accurate at Supersonic Speed
http://foundrymag.com/materials/light-rigid-and-accurate-supersonic-speed
The F-35 EOTS system is housed in a lightweight beryllium-aluminum structure, a material selected because of its “specific stiffness,” i.e., the material’s elastic module divided by its density, which results in a light but remarkable stable structure that supports the system’s requirement for stability in the critical task of locating, sighting, and fixing a target on the fast-moving jet.
According to the developers, the F-35’s EOTS is first sensor to combine forward-looking infrared and infrared search and track functionality, thereby enhancing the pilots’ situational awareness, and allowing aircrews to identify areas of interest, perform reconnaissance, and deliver laser and GPS-guided weapons with precision.
Lockheed Martin confirms it has delivered more than 130 systems for the F-35 Lightning II.
The beryllium-aluminum structure, originally milled from ingots produced from powder metals and formed by hot isostatic pressing, has been converted to a series of investment castings designed by Lockheed Martin and two foundries — IBC Engineered Materials and Materion Brush Beryllium & Composites.
RE: MSR OPEN HOUSE
I went at sat outside the open house for a few hours.
It’s hard to give an exact number of how many people are in attendance at the open house because it appears that most of the employees and management either parked their cars on the street, loading dock or adjacent parking lot. I would say that there are at the very least 15 MSRs maybe 20 based on the amount of people I saw going inside and the number of cars.
If anyone has any questions that you would like me to try and get answered at the shareholders meeting feel free to let me know and I will do my best. I hope this helps.
Have a great day!

You're absolutely right that I should rise above these numbskulls and their BS. I have to say though that I kind of hope the share price will stay down long enough for me to buy more at the current price or below.
