Me too. My order just filled at $2.88!
Kept some cash in reserve in case it does drop more. Hadn't traded TVIX before, so had to jump through some hoops with Fidelity before they'd let me buy it.
TVIX - Please keep us posted when you make your move. Looks to be sub-$3's today, but with the employment news I wonder if this market bounce will carry into early next week. Any chance that we'll see those $2.60's again in your opinion?
MNGA - Soldier, that would be awesome...and nice pick up on the fiscal year. I've been sitting on some free cash and have been considering adding to my position. The market has been a little unpredictable as of late though, so it's got me gun-shy with the PPS being just above that $1.10 support.
MNGA - That's a nice little find there. Thinking of loading some more today or tomorrow in hopes we have an announcement early next week on the sale of the sterilization unit to the hog farm.
$CGIX - Today we should have an 8x34 cross. Would like to see some news with it this morning and really get some momo.
$CGIX - 8x34 cross coming today.
Thanks $oldier. I'm not in. Am always just looking to dabble around a bit. It's funny how stocks that you've been in before always stay on your radar. ECTE and SPEX are two of those for me. Sold both for slight losses, and for some reason I can't keep myself from wanting to get back in and make those red trades turn green. LOL.
Crazy wasn't it. On no news or anything either. Only thing I could see with SPEX was technical. It was way oversold, but started making some small gains both Friday and Monday. Monday the PSAR flipped, and today...wow...I never expected it to go up this much. I watched first thing this morning in the $1.20 range and thought, it's done...but sure enough, it kept on going after stalling out for a few hours mid-day.
AF - Do you think ECTE could be in play tomorrow? $oldier alerted the board today to SPEX which boomed. ECTE chart looks to be set up similar, with a gap to fill above today's close. Thoughts?
Good call on SPEX today. I never got in...was in once before and couldn't bring myself to trust the charts today. Question for you though...do you think ECTE could make a move tomorrow...similar to what SPEX did today? The chart seems to be set up very much like SPEX was, and the past 2-3 day trend is also similar. There is a gap above to fill...so just curious if you think this one could be in play tomorrow or Thursday?
Sounds good. And as always, thanks for your insight. Was just looking at Q R M and R E E charts too...Wow...those rare earths are getting hammered.
So is AVL looking like a buy here...or just kind of wait and see? I'm also watching TVIX to see if it drops back to the $3 or sub-$3 range. Freed up some cash, so looking at my options.
You still watching/playing AVL at all? I see it is down about 7% today and sitting just above 22 RSI. It's looking like 6 red days in a row...do you see a potential flip on this?
MNGA - Nice. I still can't believe how many irons they have in the fire. There is so much going that it is almost hard to believe that we haven't gotten our PR yet with some major sales dollars tied to it.
I don't know. I think everyone assumes that the 30-days was underway, but all the PR really states is that the MOU was signed. I was hoping we'd hear something early next week...but I guess there is a chance that the 30-days hasn't even started yet.
MNGA has had a lot of nice PR's lately. They just need one now that ties firm sales to their products. Once investors realize the sales dollars are coming in, then at that time I believe we'll get rolling to new highs and beyond.
MNGA - Hey Newsguy, thought I'd let you know that I heard back from MNGA and their talk with the Iowa DNR. Below are the highlights:
The conversation went very well, I simply explained what we are testing for and what we hope to accomplish, it seems that if the test goes well we will have no problem having this erupt with orders from all over the USA and the world.
Preliminary testing shows all positive results, until we can complete a full scale test on site the preliminary results are almost worthless. We strongly believe it will be satisfactory and I will keep you informed with results and what comes out of Iowa.
If all goes well I plan to be in Iowa the first part of next year, I will be looking for clients who would be interested in purchasing units, having a demo facility and possibly the sale of the units. By the end of the year I will have a full scale plan of getting this to market depending on research and results.
The two biggest things we are looking for is sterile with nutrients left behind and odorless or a significant reduction. That would be earth shattering and monumental. Again, small scale tests show very favorable results.
Back to me now...The bottom line and my (TeamTOC's)take is that the results from Indiana may be just the catalyst that many of us on Orions have been waiting for. I know there are many irons in the fire, but to my knowledge the demo and sale of the unit in Indiana is the closest thing we have to a somewhat firm date of when we can expect news.
Yeah, I don't like that gap. Nonetheless, it's early in the day and we'll see what the remainder of the day brings. As long as we can get a close above $1.32 I'll be happy...Would really like to see it above $1.38 though...
Absolutely!
MNGA - And from my post last week, I know sometime this morning that MNGA will be reaching out to the Iowa DNR to discuss the hog farm operation testing that is going on in Indiana. Will be interested to see if I have an email this afternoon.
MNGA - Yeah buddy!
MNGA - I agree, this is a good start. The thing I would have like to see in this PR though is exactly what dollar amount is tied to the sales. That would either help (or hurt) immensely.
Matt, not to bore you with anymore BAA discussion, but I was wondering about your opinion in regards to iHub and specifically the so-called "bashers" and the "newbies" on the BAA board. I've been in and out of a lot of stocks since I started trading and joining iHub in January, and I've never visited a board in which I don't own a single share...unless of course I'm interested in buying and trying to research recent events and/or opinions.
I've got a relatively small position in BAA, and I guess to me the risk is worth the reward. With BAA though, I've never seen so many negative posters who supposedly don't own any shares, let alone new members to iHub that are making their first, and in some cases all, of their posts on one message board. This seems very suspicious to me. I just have a tough time believing that there are all kinds of iHub members out there that are truly concerned enough about others investments that instead of being out making money for themselves, that they would rather try to save other investors from losing money.
I guess my question to you is have you seen anything similar before in your years here on iHub?
Yeah, I see there was a filing after hours, but I have to admit, that's where my skills are really lacking in my few months of trading. I have no idea what this means:
http://secfilings.nasdaq.com/filingFrameset.asp?FileName=0000912282-14-000546%2Etxt&FilePath=%5C2014%5C09%5C19%5C&CoName=BANRO+CORP&FormType=8-A12B%2FA&RcvdDate=9%2F19%2F2014&pdf=
Someone dumped over 26M shares of BAA AH at ~.15. Ouch!!!
Vlisp, what do you suppose that big dump of BAA was afterhours? Over 26M shares at ~.15?
Thanks $oldier! Just trying to do my part. Obviously, as a share holder this is good for me. But I was born and raised in Iowa, and anything that is good for this state is good for me. I can't even imagine how I'd feel if in a month or two I saw a similar PR for Iowa like we saw for Indiana. It's a start, and you've got to start somewhere.
Hey Newsguy, you and others might be happy to know that MNGA and the Iowa DNR will be talking on Tuesday. Again, not much impact right now, but this could be the start of what could be multiple operations in Iowa like the one they PR'd for Indiana.
MNGA holding strong here in my opinion. Incredibly low volume. I think I'm seeing a lot of people like you and me holding tight, and just waiting for that big PR that is bound to come. I haven't looked at the short interest as of late, but possibly some shorts covering right now before the news hits. Again, the volume is so very, very low. I just started trading in January, and I plan to load another $10k into my account by Monday. Come Monday afternoon/Tuesday morning, I could have a very nice position in MNGA.

Please tell me what happened after market close today to send gold down $20? To me, this drop makes no sense after gold traded up around $1240 all day.
I agree. No worries. This price is coming down on very low volume. So far today we don't even have a third of the 90 day average volume.
Thanks Soldier. The credit for the idea has to go to Newsguy. I saw what he was doing and thought the idea was brilliant. I just hope maybe a couple of other investors see our posts and do something similar. I believe Minnesota and Nebraska are also very large pork producers, so there is opportunity for MNGA in those states (as well as many others). MNGA has found some support on the 200dma, and we kind of have a wedge forming. I wouldn't be surprised to see this move back towards $1.30 by Friday just off technicals.
I added some BAA right before the close today at .198. My .19 and .195 orders from earlier in the day didn't fill, so I figured what the hell and replaced my order a third time. If it does a full body candle gap fill it should only be a about a penny drop anyway.
You mentioned the stop at .18 though, and I wanted to get your opinion on that. I haven't been putting any stops in on my BAA...should I be? While I never really anticipated being long in BAA, the circumstances have kind of forced my hand (because I hate losing).
I can only think of a couple of times in my few months of trading that I used a stop, and one really kind of pissed me off...probably my introduction to MM's and L2. I was in MNGA (I'm now in again) and was up over 30%...the stock was sitting about 1.83ish, so I put a stop in to lock my 33% at 1.73. I swear that I no more than placed my stop, and within seconds all my shares were sold at 1.73. I'm afraid with BAA that same thing would happen, as it sure seems something weird is going on to try to accumulate all these retail shares.
Hey Newsguy1, got an update on MNGA and my efforts in trying to get them in touch with the state of Iowa. As I updated last week, I heard back from the DNR. I forwarded that email I received from the DNR to Magnegas, and today I was copied on an email and can confirm that Magnegas has reached out to the Iowa DNR.
As of now, this really doesn't mean much, but it does give the company an avenue to pursue. However, based off of the ways the emails were written from both the state DNR and from Magnegas, I would say this definitely has the potential to brew into something.
Good buy on your MNGA. Thought I'd respond to your post to update the Orions board on my efforts to notify the state of Iowa about Magnegas and their manure sterilization system.
I received an email back from the state DNR last week, which in turn I forwarded to Magnegas. I was copied on an email today, and can verify that Magnegas has reached out to the state DNR. Obviously, this doesn't mean anything right now...but it does give them an avenue to go down.
I sold my LSG today and threw it all into BAA to add to my position on the .19 dip. It was kind of hard though, as LSG was looking really good.
