Here's how we structured it two time in the past.

Submit your estimate as to where the SP will be exactly one week after the intitial announcement.

I had a new investing book that was to be used as the prize to the winner of the closest guess to actual. Many people on the Board have already submitted guesses. I suppose they could update their guess if they chooose to do that. If I don't hear from someone, their original guess stands.

Those who predict that we'll be at $1.50, $2.00 or $5.00 by (fill in the date) don't REALLY know anymore than you do. They heard it from some other Einstein who doesn't really know either. Certainly there are people who do know lots more than you or I do, but you'll never read what they know on this board. They mostly keep their mouth shut and work quietly, and with great patience, for fulfillment of their goals.

Here's a couple of free TIPs from ol' Cap'n Crunch.

1. If you need to see a constant rise in SP of Axis based on no news or rumors, you will not be a happy investor during this wait. It's just not sustainable over the long term

2. If you hope to keep yourself better informed on this, or any other stock, develop meaningful realtionships, based on trust and discretion, with smart people closer to the stock's center of gravity.

When speaking to friends in my network, they are like somber soldiers preparing their kit before the big enemy attack after first light. Not a lot of banter. Yes, I can imagine your broker laughing at you if you wanted to short a pinkie. My broker, Fidelity, would laugh too.

BUT. You can find brokers who will be glad to help you short this stock and virtually any other pinkie. But they are the smaller, hungrier brokerage houses.

There are websites that will tell you what the short play is in any stock you want. Last time I looked there was a grand total of 1,000 shares short. Several months ago you coul;d see 15,000 or 25,000 sold short.

Don't feel bad. Hopefully we are all still learning.

Here's my theory. This is no MM play. What we have is a large investor who has directed his broker, "1. Buy up to x number of shares. X is likely in the hundreds of thousands.and 2. Buy them right. Take anything offered less than $1. until you accumulate X.

He (or his broker) is very disciplined, and probably making wise use of limit buys.

Enjoy the stability while it lasts. Anticipation of an (dare I say it?) imminent announcement isn't driving this. It's likely one or two accumulators. Now, if sellers at less than a buck dry up, we'll likely see a very slow increase in SP until he has X. Obviously we have had sufficient sellers who see an opportunity to cash in on shares they bought @ .31 - .81 A 25%+ appreciation is nothing to sneeze at. (Unless you suspect there is something altogether different coming at us.)
