Hi Dimension. On my membership page, at the bottom of the "Your Membership" section (the section where it tells you when you joined, etc.), there is a link to "Want to Log Out?".
I did not want to try it this morning, but that looks like what you want.

Hi clip. You wrote - I saw a specific indicator shown as a "top" price label on a stock, and then, a week or so later when the stock broke through to new highs, the previous "label" had vanished
The price labels are simply price labels attached to the chart at the point where the stock has reached a high or low point. Usually, they are not considered indicators of anything other than that - a high or low point.
So, when the stock continues to a higher high or lower low the price label attaches to this new point as it has become the actual high or low for the current trend.
I don't know if that answers your question or helps, but that is why the last high or low label on the chart can change.

Hi Calc. As you probably know, if someone with a Public List wants to be contacted there would be an email link just below their name, when you opened their list.
The link would say "Send Feedback to the Author".
If by Dr. J. you mean Dr. Joe's, there does not appear to be a link.
Have you tried an internet search for Joe K. Reed?
Cush
Hi scan2win. Creating a new Favorites List is pretty easy.
Either click on the "Create a New List" link at the bottom of your member's page,
(There are instructions on the page that opens.)
Or run a scan and save the results to a Favorites List.
Then you will be able to scan that list with either the Standard or Advanced User Interface Scan Engines.
If you are having a problem, (or that didn't answer your question) post again.
Cush
Hi Dimension. This evening, when I tried opening that post with the Intraday chart, the chart did not open.
Then I opened another window, and logged onto StockCharts.
Then tried opening the post again, and the chart opened.
Does that help you?
Cush
Hi lowdawg. That's the sort of question that could only be answered by StockCharts.com.
I am just a subscriber like the rest of you here on the forum. I subscribed on June 1st, 2001. It has been an invaluable tool for me.
I understand why a company like StockCharts does not publish a list of upcoming additions and features. In any competitive industry, you don't want the competition to know what you are planning and when.
So, if you've suggested, through Support, additional features you would like to see, I think you just have to wait for them.
But if you or anyone else learns more about anything coming down the tube, I would be happy to see it posted here.

Scan Engine - Just ran a few of my scans. Worked really, really fast. Like a split second. Seemed fine. Produced results.
Have you tried a few different scans?
Standard or AUI engine?
Cush
Annotation function now working for me.
Anyone still having a problem?
Cush
I just tried doing an annotation.
Got the gray screen for an extra few seconds. Then the annotation screen. But after I annotated, and uploaded, the annotations weren't on the original chart.
Something amiss this morning.
Got a java error problem message when I tried to reopen the annotations.
If things are still wonky in an hour or so, I'll send in a report to Support.
Cush
Hi Dimension. I can see the Intraday charts in both of those posts - this morning.
Cush
No problem now. May have been at my end.
Cush
Anyone else having a problem logging in this morning?
I am getting page cannot be displayed message.
Cush
Then I hope patience is another characteristic. <smile>
Dr Worm, you can request that symbols be added.
If you go to this link
http://stockcharts.com/FAQ-Data.html#addstock
you will see the procedure.
Cush
Jonesie, I ran a couple of scans as a test. They were working fine, both with last close and intraday.
I used the Standard Scan engine.
Is that where you are seeing a problem?
Cush
Dimension, it might be a good idea to send that one directly in to Support. They do monitor this forum, but you will get your question directly to them if you send it in.
If you decide to send the question in, please let the rest of us know what the answer is.
Cush
laptop, glad your problem was resolved.
I'll try to remember that one next time someone has that problem.
Cush
You know that sounds like your browser is restricting the size of the file. Do you think you've changed any settings that might do that. Like adding some kind of security program, either yourself, or your isp?
Cush
laptop, you're going to have to wait for someone more tech-oriented than me to come along here.
If I have any more ideas, I'll post again later.
Going to be busy for a few hours though.
If you figure out why it is happening, please post for the rest of us.
Cush
lol - you're too fast for me.
Try a reboot.
Cush
laptop, here goes.
Disclaimer first. I hate giving anybody advice about browser functions. Please do not follow my directions if you are not willing to assume full responsibility for anything that happens. I accept no responsibility for anything you do, or anything that happens to your system, or anything else, because of anything I write.
Clearing the cache is fairly simple.
Under Tools, top bar on the browser.
Open Internet Options
Under the General tab, middle of the window, you should see Temporary internet files.
Do not click on Delete Cookies.
Click on Delete Files.
Try that. See if that helps.
If it does, I'll explain to you how to arrange it so the system will delete those files every time you shut the browser down.
Good luck.
Cush
Are you using IE as a browser?
I'm a "user", not a technician
That goes for me, too.
But I'll give you some suggestions if you are using IE, since that's what I'm using.
Cush
laptoptrader - well so far no else has posted here that they aren't seeing the charts. For my part, I can see them.
I am sure it is frustrating, but if you are the only one experiencing the problem, then it is likely that it's something at your end, not iHub or StockCharts.com
If this has been going on for a few days, I guess you have cleared your browser cache and probably rebooted by now. Is that right?
Cush
laptoptrader, give us a link to one of the posts where the chart is not loading for you.
Cush
laptoptrader, where do you mean?
If you mean here at iHub, I can see charts that have been posted.
Cush
hi lowdawg, sorry I don't have a scan for that particular candlestick.
I will give it some thought though.
I enjoy all the posts regarding scans. They all provide ideas, and I am grateful to the people who take the time to share their scan ideas.
On the weekend, the discussion between Capitalist and Dimension (beginning with that DonCarlson post) was quite interesting, too.
I have spent some time working on the prediction probabilities of various indicators.
And I can see ways to use the Backtesting function to test for probabilities. Do a scan for 8 days ago. Save the results, and then scan those for 7 or 6 days ago to see if price rose, for example.
One of the problems is that you need an attractive entry point into the stocks identified. So the follow-up scans need to identify opening price and high or close or range.
These are just a few thoughts I had while I was skimming those posts.
I am going to spend some more time thinking about this, too.
Cush
Hi eliteG, you are welcome. And welcome to the forum.
This is not an appropriate forum for posting stock picks.
But you will find quite a few forums here at iHub that are good places to discuss stock picks, and you will find that people on those forums often post charts from StockCharts.com
This was the right place to come with your question about the scan engine. This forum allows us to find out whether a problem is with our own system, StockCharts' system, or just the way we are attempting to use some of the features.
Give as much info as you can when you feel you have encountered a problem. Then it is easier for the rest of us to try to generate the same problem.
Cush
Hi eliteG. This forum is primarily subscribers, just like you.
There are hundreds of people signed onto the forum, but most of us monitor it while we trade.
When you post something like Is the Scan Engine down?, please give some more detail if you can, so we'll know what down means.
I just tried a couple of scans. Getting no results the first couple of times (when there should have been some stocks found), and now being timed out. So something is not working with the Scan Engine.
I will report it to Support.
Cush
I wasn't charting when you posted, but just saw your message and ran a few charts. Charts were working for me.
Still having a problem?
Cush
Hi proformano. Extendable axes.
The ability to extend the axes has come up before.
In August, Rachel from StockCharts' Support posted a response.
http://www.investorshub.com/boards/read_msg.asp?message_id=7379650
That is message # 3611 on this forum.
In her message Rachel said -
We hope to add capability to add additional grid space with the next release of SharpCharts2. One interesting aspect of this feature is that it will not require the use of the annotation tool.
Cush
Hi Frostie. If the lists you had already created no longer have both 90 day and 1 day periods, there are a couple of possible things that could have happened.
If you open one of those lists in ChartBook view can you find the charts you wanted in both 90 day and 1 day periods?
In my case, I have lists with Daily, Weekly, and Monthly charts in one list, and I have lists that are dedicated to one time period.
Cush
Hi Frostie. If you created a Favorites list with both 90 day and 1 day (intraday?) charts, they should both be showing up when you look at the 10 per page view.
Like you said though, there's a learning curve.
Here's a suggestion. Leave the Favorites Lists you have already created for now. Create a new one called something like Test. Leave it empty.
Then open any chart in SharpCharts view. Create a 90 day chart for that stock. Save it using the drop down menu at the top Choose from:. It gives you the option to Add/Modify. Click on that.
You'll get a pop-up window that allows you to name the chart and select the Favorites List. Name it Stocktest 90 day. Save it in Test Favorite List.
Repeat that with the same stock, 1 day period. Name it Stocktest 1 day. Save it in Test Favorite List.
Now go into a 10 per page view of the Test Favorite List. There should be two charts.
Did you get the stock in 90 and 1 day charts?
Been a lot of years since I stopped using TC2000 and started using StockCharts. They've both got good qualities.
Cush
By coincidence? Hey, poorboy. Odd thing about the problem you had is that I have had the same thing happen this past week.
Lost all sound. (Well, volume really.)
Turned out that the Wave/DirectSound Balance button under Audio Play Control was turned way down.
Cush
Hi tochurch. Candlestick colors.
Here's a link to an explanation of the colors.

Hi luck_eee_1, Basic vs. Extra.
Compared here.
http://stockcharts.com/corp/compare.html
That's how I read that, too.
Basic - you get the first 10
Extra - you get every stock found up to 999.
If you look at that comparison matrix you'll notice the number of Favorites Lists you can create and store. One (Basic) vs one hundred (Extra).
When you start running scans it is really nice to be able to save the results as a Favorites List. That allows you to follow the group of stocks for a few days, or weeks, or months.
Cush
Good Morning luck_eee_1. Scan engines.
The Advanced Scan function has drop down menus that help with scan creation. Here's a link to the Advanced Scan Manual.
http://stockcharts.com/support/AdvScanManual.html
"User Friendly" is a somewhat relative term. I prefer to use the Standard Scan engine. The Standard Scan engine can be used to create a scan with all the criteria you mention.
Here's the Standard Scan Manual.
http://stockcharts.com/support/scanmanual.html
Regardless of which Scan Engine I use, I rarely scan for more than a couple of criteria. The more criteria and the tighter you draw the criteria, the fewer stocks the scan will find.
There are a few examples of Advanced User Interface Scans in the Scan Library I have compiled.
http://www3.sympatico.ca/cush/scans.html

Good Morning Todd. Fundamentals and Creating a Public Favorites list.
Fundamentals. In the Advanced User Interface, the first drop down menu available is Ticker Properties. On that menu you are able to select Earnings per Share (EPS), PE Ratio, and Market Cap.
Creating a Public Favorites List. Open any Favorites List in the Edit view, you will find a box to tick that makes that list your Public List. Then your friends can go to the Public Chart Lists to view yours and others.
Cush
Razal, I have to be out today. Won't be back until late.
That's an odd problem. Can you create, store, and retrieve new scans?
Maybe someone else will have some suggestions for you.
Cush
Hank, have you read the Beta6 Release notes?
Here's a link to the notes.
http://stockcharts.com/support/SC2Manual.html
In those notes, under -
What's Missing From the Beta6?
You will see -
The key thing that is still missing is the ability for members to save charts into their Favorites list(s).
Is this what you are referring to?
Cush
Hi Joe. I don't know how much help this will be, but here goes.
You ask If I have accidentally uploaded a chart as "static", is there any way I can change it to a "live annotated" chart?
I had to think back just to remember how to load a chart as static because I never ever annotate in SharpCharts and then save to a Favorites List. When I was first using StockCharts I occasionally saved static charts, and now that you've reminded me I can think of a few reasons why I would, but mostly I want charts that will continue to update. I think once a chart is static, it cannot be changed to live. If anyone knows differently, please post here and correct me.
If you save your charts to a Favorites List before you annotate, you shouldn't have this problem again.
You also ask - if I uploaded a chart with the end date as 8-19-05, how can I change it so it will continue to update to Dec. 05?
Again, I don't think you can change that once you have added it to a Favorites List. Anyone know differently?
In my case, I save everything as live, continuous update forever. I can't think of any reason not to.
I know these answers are not much help, but maybe they will spur someone to correct me, and we'll both learn something new.
Good luck,
Cush
