I honestly have no clue what has been going on with it.
I don't think Bruney is right. There are alot of people that can throw 95 MPH That can't pitch in the majors because thats all they can do. He isn't mixing up his pitches and everyone knows more than likely a fastball is coming.
I really don't understand what happened to DICE-K. Maybe the Red Sox can get a buy out from the goverment on that 100 million loss.
What did Wilpon say? For now Omar is the GM? That didn't sound like a huge amount of confidence.
Didn't take them long did it.
Well this is the 1st I have been on in probably a month but I have been really busy. But yes, I am still around. Just not as much...
Philly beating up on Boston now. Good deal.
Killing me to. It is just plain wrong...lol em
He does make some questionable calls and he tends to leave pitchers in that are getting bombarded in a bit to long. Like Wang the other night. That was painful to watch. But the Bobsy Twins Hank and Hal don't run the team like their father with such a tight rope. The sleeper team in the AL is Toronto. They will hurt Boston and the Yankees. I may be biased but I like the Yankees chances.
btw, I couldn't imagine A-Rod would be able to handle if Billy was manager. If he was still alive he would be on his 20th time as manager by now.
I think he will last longer than alot think. He is starting to act like a manager instead of a friend. I have seen him have a few 1 sided conversations this year where as last year it was almost like he was negotiating making a move with the guys on the team.
Hey there Derf. well seems thats who has the most fans on the board. Besides yourself I don't know of any Rangers fans on here.
The best thing that ever happened to the Phillies is when the Mets hired Omar Minaya. I don't like how he has handled most of the Mets Business and I hate what he did to Willie. I still feel the Mets will make the playoffs this year because they are fighters. But I do not feel Willie was the problem as much as Omar Minaya has been the problem. I think they will go in as a wild card though.
I don't remember a team that has had so many come from behind wins that have started or made their comeback in the last couple of innings. Some of the strange ways they have been winning is something.
I am lucky, I have the Yankees minor league team here 20 minutes away. 10 minutes from my house the Penguins minor league team plays at our arena. And yes, the Steelers won the super bowl.
ouch...lol em
rofl em
Your right. It isn't as big of deal since Yankees came in 1 game up and can leave tied with a win tonight. I don't like it either and it seems to have brought the Red Sox fans back to life that were so quiet for so long after the yankees started playing baseball and took over 1st place. Also, last nights game ended up closer after a really bad start by Wang. They will beat them a few times this year.
Yea they have but it seems right now we have a different A-Rod playing for us than we did.. He has taken more of a beating than any Yankee in recent memory and rightfully so. I think he is making more of a effort to work with the team instead of the team working with him. after the crazy off season he had, he has become a lightening rod with his actions. I think he may finally see he was the problem and not everyone else. Looks at David Wells and David Cone, they liked to go and get absolutly pig drunk and the press would make a joke of it in a funny article. If A-Rod did that it would be front page of the Post. I hope he learned by now.
A-Rod and Teixeira ganging up on Sutcliffe?
A couple of weeks ago, the Yanks’ Mark Teixeira hit a homer against the Rangers and Rick Sutcliffe was broadcasting from the ESPN booth. The 1984 Cy Young award winner suggested that it was possible that Teixeira had gotten signals from Alex Rodriguez to let him know where the catcher was setting up. Well, Tex and A-Rod apparently did not like that very much, especially after an off-season in which Rodriguez was accused of tipping off opponents to pitches when the game was a blowout. The pair supposedly confronted Sutcliffe on Tuesday night. No fisticuffs occurred. (New York Daily News)
Nooooooooo. We will be in the playoffs. I have faith...lol
You shouldn't bash him. Red Sox paid over 100 million for him to be in Boston wasn't it?
Penny is pitching for you guys today I thought.
It does not surprise me. He was better coming out of the Pen and proving himself. He tends to get beat up by Boston on the road to begin with when he was winning 18 games. I would have waited the extra week to put him in the rotation so he didn't have to face Boston in Boston. He gets to pumped up and his sinkers just don't sink and they stay right over the plate. Hitters like Boston don't miss when that happens.
It's Slade
With the 29th pick in the first round, the Bronx Bombers selected OF Slade Heathcott from Texarkana,
Yankees 1st round pick and new Baby Bomber, Slade Heathcott
Earn your money, AJ
There's no other way to say it -- AJ Burnett has had a terrible season so far. He's been all hype with no bite.
His strikeouts are down. His walks are up. He's allowing more flyballs and less groundballs. His FIP checks in at 4.91. And his ERA+ is a below average 96.
As he opens a huge series versus Boston, it's time for him to man up
Seven...seven losses in a row to Boston
ESPN is blocked since we have the Yes Network in our area and the game is on Yes. They do it everytime the game is on Both for us. So I am watching the completly unbiased Yes Network..lol
Time to pull Wang out. He is done. No use letting him in there to build stamina when they are smacking him around like a red headed step child.
It's a bomb from A-Rod: Book sales doing nothing
NEW YORK (AP) - Remember that tell-all book about A-Rod?
Just a month after making headlines with its allegations that the New York Yankees star likely used steroids as far back as high school, Selena Roberts' "A-Rod: The Many Lives of Alex Rodriguez" has vanished from best seller lists.
Published in early May by HarperCollins with an announced first printing of 150,000, "A-Rod" has sold just 16,000 copies so far, according to Nielsen BookScan, which tracks about 75 percent of industry sales. The book sold 11,000 in its first week, then quickly faded.
At the Rizzoli Bookstore in midtown Manhattan, "A-Rod" has sold two copies. Twenty-seven copies have sold at Posman Books, based in Grand Central Terminal, but none in the past two weeks.
"I don't think he's ever been embraced by serious fans," Logan Fox, a manager at Posman, said Wednesday. "He's still considered an outsider."
"A-Rod" fell off The New York Times' hardcover list of nonfiction best sellers after three weeks, peaking at No. 9 in late May. As of Wednesday afternoon, the book ranked No. 2,904 on Amazon.com, where even James Frey's discredited memoir "A Million Little Pieces" — at 1,776 — is outselling it.
Well your right, he did catch heat for it. Even though I didn't like to see him go and they way it happened, you have to respect a player in that way for doing that. When Jerome Bettis was with the Steelers in the prime of his career the Steelers had offered a couple of million a year less than the Redskins and a lower signing bonus than the Redskins. He turned down the Redskins and said I am happy being a Steeler and want to retire a Steeler. Not alot of players would give up a couple of million a year plus a larger signing bonus.
I was telling a friend of mine I expect to see the Yankees take 2 out of 3 and would lose the 1st game with AJ pitching. against Beckett. He laughed and said you don't have faith in AJ and I said I have full faith in him. But he is new to this Rivaly and will want to prove to his team he is going to be a Boston killer but he will end up over throwing trying to strick out everyone. With each bad outing he has we will see him get pounded like last night as long as he feels he has something to prove. We know he can pitch and we know he can pitch quite well. He should just play his game and relax. So tonight we will win. My only worry is Wang tends to over throw when we play Boston and his sinkers tend to stay up over the plate and get clobbered.
I wasn't talking about this year. I had said he was always big, that didn't stop him from being one of the best hitters in the game meaning career wise. Not just this year. He couldn't really field because of his weight. He would get hurt much more often but he could sure knock the skin off the ball.
Another good example of personal greed to screw fans in another sport.
NBC Finds Way To Alienate Fans Of Both Penguins and Red Wings
Detroit and Pittsburgh are not all that different from one another.
Both cities are blue collar and rely on hard working, family-first individuals. Both cities were built on one industry; Pittsburgh is the Steel City while Detroit is the Motor City.
When the Steelers won Super Bowl XL, they did it in Detroit. The team’s lead running back, Jerome Bettis, was born and raised in Motown.
Meeting for the second straight year, a bitter rivalry has been built between the cities. The Penguins and Red Wings have made residents of the cities forget how fond they were of each other.
As a resident of a Detroit suburb and a lifelong Wings fan, I like to think of Pittsburgh almost as a cousin. They’re not as close to be considered a sibling, but it’s still family. Although you don’t always agree, you still like each other and, in the end, will still be friends.
Despite the Stanley Cup Finals, both Detroit and Pittsburgh are united once again. This time the cities can join in on quite the interesting battle: Arena Vision.
Anyone who has watched a playoff game should know what this is. While the team having success is on the road, a shot of that team’s fans packed into their home arena is shown. Those fans are often estatic; smacking thunder sticks, waving pom-poms and screaming as if they are at the game itself.
It has become quite the image in this series. Shots outside of Mellon Arena display Pens fans carrying couches, blankets and lawn chairs in order to find the perfect view of one of the big screens placed on the side of the arena. Even as a Wings fan, I can respect this and commend Penguin fans for their enthusiasm.
With Game Six approaching, I looked forward to joining the fellow Wings fans at Joe Louis Arena. Every year, Joe Vision produces thousands of fans to watch road games. Tickets are normally an affordable $5, with all proceeds going to local charities. There are bands, giveaways, and perhaps the most important factor: fans that are as diehard as anyone.
On Monday, I learned that my plan had been foiled. There hasn’t been a Joe Vision yet this year, and there won’t be one. Although I have not been able to confirm this, it looks like there will be no Mellon Vision for Pens fans on Tuesday, either.
Why? NBC put the kibosh on it.
Yes, the lowest-rated network, the Now Broadcasting Crap channel, decided that its reputation wasn’t bad enough. So they decided that since viewers could be at home boosting ratings, they better damn sure not watch the game en masse at the Joe.
This should make fans sick to their stomachs. NBC screwed over a fan base compiled of fans that have lost their jobs, their pensions, their homes and their livelihoods. They’ve watched their towns, neighborhoods, favorite destinations and childhood landmarks crumble and vanish. Hockey is one of the few things Red Wing fans have to hold onto.
But NBC’s ignorance and greed has blinded the network. Are a few thousand fans packing an arena really going to kill your ratings? Isn’t it safe to assume those fans will gather at a friend’s house or crowd a local bar instead?
Most might. But some will not, because of one problem: kids. Yes, Joe Vision is fan-friendly. Unlike a bar, parents can bring their children into the arena and let them share in one of the rare moments, like watching a favorite team compete for a title.
In a brutal economy, both cities were given a chance to be a part of their team’s Stanley Cup run. Most fans can’t afford tickets to a game, or don’t have access to purchasing any. But camping outside Mellon Arena or watching the game on the big screen at Joe Louis Arena gave fans of these two areas a way to connect with the teams.
NBC has robbed fans of that.

I have said before that out of most of the players I would like to believe there is a real reason besides PED's for David Ortiz's struggles. I think he is one of the classiest players in all of baseball. If it is his eyes I would have prefered they found out after they play the Yankees..lol
Bravo, Bravo, This is cause for a celebration!!!!
First photograph of Big Papi's new glasses
In one of the most widely-publicized eye examinations in history, the Red Sox and David Ortiz are trying to solve Mr. Clutch's post-PED nightmare by checking out his pupils. In a NoMaas exclusive, our sources have provided us with the first-ever photograph of Big Papi and his new spectacles
He has always been overweight. That didn't stop him from being one of the best hitters in the game.
What would baseball do if a whole team got put in isolation?
No Love Lost Between Ex-Teammates Mark Teixeira, Vicente Padilla
NEW YORK – If Mark Teixeira misses anything from his 4 1/2 seasons with the Rangers, it isn't Vicente Padilla.
Teixiera, now with the Yankees, glared at Padilla on Tuesday after the right-hander plunked him for the second time in the game, in the fourth inning of the Yankees' 12-3 rout. Later that inning Teixeira went in hard at second base to break up a double play and keep a seven-run rally going.
Then afterward, Teixeira made it clear what he thought of his ex-teammate.
"It's just not the right way to play the game," Teixeira said. "Unfortunately, that guy's been doing it his whole career."
Through an interpreter, Padilla told reporters: "If he thinks it was intentional, it's just stupid."
The pitch hit Teixeira in the rear end.
"I think he was trying to get inside on him to keep him from diving out over the plate," Rangers manager Ron Washington said.
In the top of the fifth, A.J. Burnett threw a pitch over the head of Texas' Nelson Cruz (who had homered in the third), and both teams were warned by home-plate umpire Doug Eddings. Nothing further happened.
Teixeira first faced Padilla on June 9, 2005, when Padilla was with the Phillies. Teixeira homered in the first and third innings and got hit in the fifth.
"Every time I've faced him since," Teixeira said, "there's seemed to be balls near my head, near my body. And today I got hit twice."
The two wound up teammates for 2006 and part of 2007.
"I remember getting hit a lot because he was hitting other players," Teixeira said. "There's no reason for it. Tonight, the same kind of thing."
In fact, Teixeira was hit by a pitch seven times while Padilla was his teammate, but only one of those came in a game in which Padilla pitched.
Teixeira said he got no response when, in their time in Texas, he told Padilla to stop throwing at batters.
"If you can't get a guy out, don't hit him," Teixeira said Tuesday. "If you don't want to pitch to a guy, put four fingers out there and walk him."
Asked if his hard slide into second was payback, Teixeira smiled.
"It was," he said, "a good coincidence."
