Was lucky to get filled at 08 but no go at 10. Break even stops in place and left orders in at 10 if we get there too.
75...wishin it was 73 here
Taking the 10 points per contract here at 1104. Getting back in at 1108 or 1110 again.
Look at an hourly chart of SPX and that MASSIVE negative divergence. That why I jumped on early.
Let's see if the night monkeys see that too and chop it's legs out tonight.
Most time frames are just as ugly.

A great long term stock pick. Obama has issued a moratorium on offshore drilling so this is a GREAT pick. Oil prices are going to soar because of this. Piramid Oil co. (PDO) is one of the few companies that only drills on land for crude and natural gas.
I don't like to look at fundamentals but they have virtually no dept and nearly 4 1/2 million in cash. First quarter revenues were up 69% and they are a company over a hundred years old.
It is a tad thinly traded on the volume but I bought some for my mutual fund 2 weeks ago for a long term play when it was obvious that we were going to put a hold on offshore drilling.
Crude oil is going to go up because the supply line will dwindle SIGNIFICANTLY with no more holes getting punched in the gulf or near Alaska so it's bound to be a go. It jumped up quite a bit this morning after Obama's speech last night but it closed at $5.28. It was $36.80 2 years ago...: )
That was screwy. I posted 10 minutes ago and I came back in and it said it had failed. I pressed the back button...hit reply again and a double post showed up and both were time stamped at 2:40...WTF
Sept. contract is 1114 and I am in with a few contracts. Lots of reasons for it to stop here.
I am only in with about 1/3 to 1/4 of my desired position for now.

PDO...eom
I have an order in to short at 1120 on the sept. contract. That's 10 points higher than it is now. I am tempted to go ahead and scale in here. I sold my longs (june contract) at 1108 a couple of hours ago (too early) but probably will just wait and see what happens. The overnight action will most likely be a good fade tomorrow. So, I hope they take it up...lol
If you are a long term holder I would wait for tomorrow's open
Higher and I would short
Lower and I would wait
75
Yep...that's usually the case.
Well actually it is disappearing...
from sight. What happens is that the longer it sits there most of it sinks, sticks together and just hangs around or goes to the bottom in clumps. Only a certain amount stays on top like a slick. What you see is what is on top. That's only the TIP of the iceberg.
There is a FAR greater amount sitting in and at the bottom of the ocean that you will never see until the sea spits it out occasionally in the form of tar balls. Kinda like the thousands of shark teeth that I collect. They were sitting on the bottom somewhere until the ocean decided to discard them.
LOL...tell him I said congratulations. I hope there was some nice prize money for that bad boy. That's a nice King
Some humor for the weekend...lol

That is very odd indeed. Most brokerages "store" your order on their server once it is placed so these things do NOT happen. I could not feel comfortable with that. At least it was not a sell stop order it missed. Mine even let's me know when I shut down that I have "open orders" that will continue to run even though I am logged off.
I hope it was a one time deal and not something that is standard. Good luck.
Have a good weekend all. Hot as crap here for the next few days (mid 90's) and humid...yuck
75
Yep...my thoughts exactly. That has been there calling for quite a while and patients pays off. That should be a great short there but we may fall a bit short.
Yep, that's the top of the channel. 1108 can also be seen using other time frames. But...when we get there we will have popped thru one of my big DTL's so maybe a small correction (1080ish) and then maybe more upside. I think this thing is about to surprise some folks. The big boys seem to be setting the table for a rip up. The masses are as bearish as I have ever seen and that spells trouble.
I wouldn't be surprised to see a MACD rise to kiss zero and a look at the 125MA....who knows. Volume points to filling the 1105 to 1112 air space left behind. That high volume on the 6th and 7th is calling for a test.
75
Or at least...
1108 but I still think 1110 to 1114. Then we shall see because at that point the DTL will be broken. All the news is noise. The market will do what the market wants to do and it needs to shake out the weak right here.
We shall see soon enough

Might not be in RH but if not the night monkeys will run it there. Anything over 1072 and the pattern says 1014.
Perfect bounce off the daily UTL at 1055.50...
That should be it.
Might not be in RH but if not the night monkeys will run it there. Anything over 1072 and the pattern says 1014.
Sticking to the plan...
Look at the "perfect" bull flag on the 60 minute. 1100 is coming and still 1120 is a chance.
Yep...that's about where a daily DTL resides. It's a little odd but it is possible to draw several DTL's on this down swing depending on your definition of were it should be.
I wouldn't bet against an ABC that goes to 1120 before we go down to 1020. I would actually count that as more than a possibility... : )
Yep...probably a nice blast tomorrow. Lots of patterns played out and fib retraces hit today as well.

Sticking to my guns on this one. We ARE heading there.

Law...
You can get a simulated futures account here and paper trade for a few weeks (I recommend you do it first) before you even think about futures.

Also, if you ever do take the plunge you should pick someone that seldom if ever has data issues and someone that only charges a couple of bucks for round trip trades. Anything over $3 is a ripoff.
Just now getting into the loop current. You can keep a watch on it here. Just check the appropriate boxes at the bottom left.

639 ... 1069 close???
That's the line of doom below
See even a bounce here and it won't even be where it was when you posted. It didn't look like a day where we could bounce.
I still say the Euro vs. the Swiss Franc breaking down thru support could cause some heavy crash triggers and it may have started already.
As I said earlier we will be hitting 1120 on SPX and possibly lower but intraday timing is tough here.
I really don't know that it will bounce Cap...not looking good. If it does I think it will just be some quick covering for the weekend. I wouldn't hold it over the weekend but that's just me.
75
So you can get crushed over twice as fast as well...lol
If you spent 100k on TZA at the bottom and cashed in today you would wait for it to clear and would have made 38k.
If you shorted the TF (Russell 2k mini) at the top your 100k would have made you roughly twice as much and your funds are available the second you exit the trade and TZA is a 3x. It is over five times the payout as a singlex.
It is all about purchase power. You get anywhere from 5 - 10 times purchase power with futures. One TF contract pays one hundred dollars for every point of movement using 4k of margin. You can double your investment every forty points of movement. 40 points on TF equates to around 3 points on TZA so you can do the math. If you used that same 4k of margin on TZA and bought or sold you would make 1.7k for every 4k you make on futures.
Using TZA then it is a ratio of 4:1.7
75
1020 SPX is next stop eventually...if it doesn't hold then 980. One of those holds the key to how low and where the bounce takes u75
Mainly currency problems with Euro vs Swiss Franc breaking support.
It looks like all the efforts of the big Swiss bankers to prop it up is failing.
Most market moves now are driven by currencies. They are now officially the highest volume traded instrument in the world.
My check list for warm weather hiking and camping...
This is a warm weather hiking list: Sleeping and cooking gear are the most important things that you will have to pack as far as weight and bulk. Choose VERY carefully unless you are a princess…lol REI and Outdoor Provision are very good places to get stuff as well as Dick’s
Backpack: I use a Gregory Baltoro 70: http://www.gregorypacks.com/products/view/15 because I think they make the best packs for durability and organization, comfort and quality. You may want to invest in a pack cover if it’s raining. North Face would be my second pick. Don’t buy Osprey or REI because of the shoulder strap system. I have had an Osprey pack shoulder strap break on me way in the woods and it had to be rigged where I couldn’t use the padded portion of the strap and not fixed because of the design. REI packs are EXACTLY alike in this poor design.
Clothes: just a couple of pairs except socks. I do NOT take long pants because I can use my rain pants if it’s cold. You want 4 to 5 pairs of good socks. Do not scrimp on socks. I like smartwool: https://www.smartwool.com/default.cfm#/mens/socks/performancesocks/outdoor/228/ If you sweat a lot like me you may want to take a rash guard top. I have several that I use for boogie boarding. They keep your skin fairly dry and your shoulders won’t tend to get all rashed up when the shoulder straps dig in. Two or three thin nylon belts. Get the kind that cinch tight and NOT the kind with holes and buckle. You will lose weight on the trail. Pack a warm windbreaker but take one or two of the cheapie rain poncho/jackets that pack into themselves in a sleeve or ball. The ones you can clip onto the outside of the bag are the best. I only use the jacket. I have a pair of heavier rain pants that is one of my sacrifices on weight. They are a tad bulky but stand up to scratching and trail wear and tear. A couple of bandanas. REI makes a great one that doubles as insect repellant. It has no odor or taste and is completely safe: http://www.rei.com/product/746685 When the bugs are horrible you can put it on like the old train robbers and that will keep the bugs out of your ears and mouth. Trust me, they will go there if you don’t have one. I keep one around my neck always when on the trail. It also works great for cooling you off. Just did in the stream and put around your neck and it feels like the temperature dropped 15 degrees. Boots are VITALE and need to be broken in buy not beat up. They need to be light, comfortable, and fairly waterproof. Bring sandals or flip flops for the end of the day. You won’t regret it.
Sleeping: My tent weighs 2 lbs 14 ozs and is all I need. You want one that is mostly screen and has a cover for when it’s raining. A footprint for your tent is a must as well to keep you off the wet ground. It’s a personal thing so you should choose it carefully but this is what I use: http://www.bigagnes.com/Products/Detail/Tent/Seedhouse2 Lots of companies make pillows and blankets that pack in on themselves as well. Mine are VERY lightweight and are both from REI. If you get one get them the ones that pack in on themselves in waterproof bags so if you need to keep them outside of your bag it won’t get wet. I would suggest that you go and test either a self inflating mattress (I use a Trekker 1.75) or a piece of foam. Foam is more comfortable but more bulky and doesn’t dry well when wet. They both weigh about the same. Some folks use string hammocks and bivy’s but I can’t get used to a hammock and a bivy feels like a coffin to me. Very lightweight though.
Tools: They have readymade ones but I pack my own. I have a multi-tool (absolute necessity)with all kinds of stuff. I would take tweezers, nail clippers, a lighter, needle and thread and reading glasses. I also have a magnesium fire starter that is always clipped to my bag: http://www.rei.com/product/737335 Great for warmth or visual rescue.
Medicine/Toiletries bag: ANY DRUG YOU HAVE TO HAVE TO LIVE. Mine has Advil, Tylenol sinus, tiny packs of Neosporin, band aids and alcohol swabs. If you chafe you might want to get some rub-on chafe guard. I take deodorant, but some people take soap. If you do it needs to be biodegradable, phosphate free and pH neutral trail soap so you don’t ruin the environment. Or you could do something like this: http://www.rei.com/product/708776 You will need a small light towel or two. A tube of sunscreen and some insect repellant.I like the ones that hang on the outside of the bag. Buy a roll or two of Scott toilet paper (far and away the most wipes per cubic inch) and take a broom stick or something similar and roll a quarter roll or so on the stick and then slide it off and pack it. Take a few of these quarter rolls. The card board center is useless and takes up space.
H2O: You will want 2 or 3 water bottles. I suggest 1 liter bottles that are very durable and light. I have a water purifier so I don’t have to do the “old school” iodine drops. It works great and there are no filters to change. It can be field cleaned over and over.: http://cascadedesigns.com/msr/water-treatment-and-hydration/expedition-water-treatment-and-hydration/miniworks-ex-microfilter/product As long as a couple of people in the group have them that is enough.
Light source: Many available but for convenience I use a headlamp
Bags: You will want a mesh bag and some plastic or trash bags. The mesh bag is for hanging stuff in like dirty or wet cloths and plastic bags keep things dry. Of course you will be taking every bit of your trash off the mountain as well so make sure you have a few.
Food and cooking: I use: http://shop.jetboil.com/index.php/flash.html and this attachment and that is all you could ever need: http://shop.jetboil.com/index.php/pot-supporter-and-stabilizer.html You will want pot/pan/cups if you go another route. All I need is a spork: http://www.rei.com/product/751779 with my setup because I drink my coffee right from my Jetboil mug and eat my freeze dried meals right from the bag. I only take freeze dried foods, protein bars and bagels that have been flattened out to save space. I only drink water but I do drink a cup of coffee in the morning. I take instant coffee. I know caffeine is a no no but I really enjoy my morning coffee. I see a lot of powdered Gatorade (instant) as well as protein gels and energy chews (never tried the stuff) so it must be popular. I think that Mountain House makes the best freeze dried foods but again it’s a personal think. I buy the “serves 2” packages for dinner because singles don’t get it for me. I can survive on an egg and meat breakfast with a bagel and coffee, a single serving lunch (no bagel) and a double serving diner with a bagel for dinner. Throw in 2 Cliff bars (my favorite) for a mid morning / afternoon snack and all is good.
I use a walking stick made from a branch or tree but most folks use ski poles. Don’t get them too short.
You will want sunglasses and hat(s) too. I also take a camera and extra batteries.
You should go to: http://www.rei.com/ Look on the top left and click “camping and hiking” and click “All Camp/Hike gear” Look at the big list because there may be something that YOU may need that I don’t use…like a compass, bear repeant, lanterns, GPS, camp seats, binoculars or maybe a solar charger for you phone or ipod…lol
None for me today...
I have so many signals telling me to sell and other telling me to buy...twice as many as normal. It seemed like a big bottom with a VERY convincing ABC correction that finished last week but other than the one day rally, it doesn't seem convincing. We should have seen more follow thru after such a correction.
615 to 678 seems like the no trade zone to me. If it gets away from there I might trade but I'll just watch for a while.
Good luck
I am also putting together a list of "gotta have" goodies for you so you don't leave home without them. I need it for myself as well because my memory isn't quite what it used to be...lol. You can survive with only one set of clothes (except socks) but doing without toilet paper is a nightmare. Simple chit like having a toothbrush that folds up and snaps shut so it doesn't taste like wet socks is a blessing, or having a thin nylon belt or rope for when your shoulder strap on your pack breaks (like mine did) will keep you from carrying your pack like a dead deer off the trail could save you from massive pain. Oh well, you get the idea. I will post a list in a few days.
Weight and bulk are your 2 biggest enemies on the trail. Go small and go light. Over 40 lbs and you suffer like hell.
75
Cap,
MSR makes very good stuff but I found Jetboil a bit more friendly. I guess it depends on your personal taste. Mine boils two cups of water in 2 minutes or less.
I have a Jetboil and I love it. Very similar to what you posted but comes with a mug style container that snaps on because 90% of the cooking (for me) is boiling water for coffee and dehydrated meals. You can un-snap the mug and use it just as a flame as well.
They all work with interchangable fuel sources so you can get any brand of small or large fuel cans.

Cap...
Two of my friends and I used to go on 3-5 day hikes up there since we were 15 by ourselves. We quit about 20 years ago but I still go once in a while (not often enough). We were doing 25 miles a day back then in rough terrain I was still doing 20 this trip in moderate terrain and sh!tty conditions. It depends on your drive as to how long you want to be out there. I would say if you even did 15 in bad terrain and 20-22 in good and stopped every 3 to 5 days for supplies and once a week to take a day off you could make it in 4 months unless the weather was horrible.
You would all have to hike a few days together first to make sure you can agree on hiking speed and compatibility. The last thing you want is to be somewhere 24/7 with someone in those conditions. Too many places to cast them over the edge and be done with the nonsense...lol You think 3000 continuous hours with some jackass might get on your nerves??? YES!!!
I'll be glad to hike with anyone for a test hike and would love to go as a group the whole way one day.
Yes it was. Doing the whole trail at once will be tough for sure. You should practice by doing a 3-4 day hike. Let me know if you ever do and I will go too if you want company. Sometimes it is great to go alone and clear out the cobwebs too.
I figure the whole trail could be done in 4 months all at once.
