A buddy of mine recently bought a vacation home in Colorado. The home is off-grid with solar panels and batteries. The nearest electric pole is roughly mile away at the street. It would cost roughly $48k to have electricity service extended to the home. This is one example where it is actually more cost effective to go off grid. The only limitation are the batteries. A new set of batteries is $3,000 and they need replacing approximately every 8 - 12 years. Lead Acid battery technology had its drawbacks due to sulfation of the plates. I am hopeful Super Capacitors will one day replace traditional Lead Acid batteries and offer lighter weight, longer life, and eventually lower cost, imo.

Seems to be a good value to be found @ SVU at this level, imo.
GNPR
Interesting, $1/watt is a good value. The ramp-up in Solar will likely drive up demand in battery technology too. Thanks for sharing!
GNPR
India is better positioned at this time to supply china with solar panels, imo.

Thin film is nice, but the cost to weight ratio is just not there yet, imo. http://online.wsj.com/article/BT-CO-20110310-704665.html

"To date, we have not been able to produce sufficient sales to become cash flow positive and profitable on an ongoing basis.
The success of our business plan during the next 12 months and beyond will be contingent upon generating sufficient revenue to cover our costs of operations and/or upon obtaining additional financing.
For these reasons, our auditor has raised substantial doubt about our ability to continue as a going concern."
Thanks for the DD! ;oD
GNPR
Note to self: Solar Hot Water and Power technologies will likely dominate the segment in the future, as fossil fuels become more pressured, imo.

Has anyone run a BBB / Better Business Bureau check on these guys?
Note to self: I would like to see the customer reviews / complaints (if any) for this (or any) company before allocating capital / cash.
GNPR
.01 (Or Lower) is my price target. As always, please do your own due diligence. GLTY ;oD

If the Government pulls out incentives for renewable energy, fossil fuels will likely continue to climb, and there will be a rush to the exits. I have seen similar trading in the past, and I expect further consolidation over the next few weeks, to levels approaching those of before the previous run. This will present a great opportunity to those who are patient that bought into the rally to average down, imo.
GNPR
I am waiting for some consolidation to initiate a starter position in SSOL.
Note to self: I am hopeful the Government will continue to provide incentives in renewable energy sources. Especially in urban areas, Solar is an attractive alternative to those ugly wind generation towers. Wind turbines and cell phone towers can spoil otherwise magnificent panoramic mountain views, imo.

No way, not yet!
ZSL will be the ticket in a few years time, imo.

The Ghetto Enterprise has landed.
Captain Kirk has arrived, I repeat,
Captain Kirk, has arrived.
Note to self: EK seems to be headed lower.

Interesting Thanks for sharing! ;oD

The sad truth is many Americans cannot afford health insurance. I thought it was a gorilla at first when they show the post-op results. I wonder what the policy premium is for the tribe members? ;oD

Note To Self: Power conservation and passive cpu cooling will drive chip sales in the future.

The demand for sulfates and lithium is likely to build as innovations in lithium ion phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries are developed. The next S-Curve will undoubtedly trade rare earths in favor for lightweight and robust super-capacitors suitable for the Electric Vehicle industry, imo.

I agree.
Note to self: Non-Tendered shares will likely be in the money, eom.
I sold my position months ago. It sure is quiet without Garrett. Still waiting for .000's on this apparently dormant shell, imo. Anyone run a FINRA broker check on Messalas lately? He has several negative things on record. They say time heals wounds, glta.
Those that hold out the tender offer will do very well with EK in the future, imo.
Activisions, DJ Hero was based on music 'mashups' and the controller was more of a toy than an instrument. Genius Products, Scratch: The Ultmate DJ, on the other hand, has a professional Numark MIDI controller, is backed by Mix Master Mike, and is more focussed on scratching and creativity. I am certain Scratch will be released soon now that ATVI and GNPR have decided to settle before trial.
The reason why I do not have a position in ATVI, is I am not happy with Activisions unethical business decisions. Activision purchased 7 Studios, effectively undermining Scratch The Ultimate DJ, in order to dominate the DJ Hero market unopposed, only to close 7 Studios in the end. Ethical companies are the ones that will ultimately succeed.
The music game industry is all about product execution. Build what consumers want, and they will buy hand-and-fist. There is still truckloads of money to be made in the Music / Video / DJ / Scratch based video game industry, imo.
Disaster AND Opportunity (in the current housing market). There are some great deals out there, imo.
I agree, I am looking to initiate a small starter position @ EK before week end.
Note to self: GNPR, currently in litigation with Activision (Settlement Pending) is similar to EK vs Apple / RIM litigation.
Holy Fred man Fred, man! ;op
Note to self: Population is expected to increase over time. There is only so much land on earth... When supply < demand, higher commodity prices *should* follow in an efficient market, imo.
Oh I know, CANA is on a smoking hot run lately! ;oD
Note to self: Waiting for a lower entry point. Never chase a lions tail, imo.
Waiting for ~ $3/PPS @ EK, imo. Having fun lately buying the dips @ GNPR today, EOM.
Note To Self: I love Ameritrade! A great company to do business with!
Seems a little over-bought at these levels though, imo.
Note To Self: Mega volume again today in EK, the price action is trending lower, imo.
I am glad Activision decided to discontinue the DJ Hero franchise. This is great news for GNPR (Genius Products) and Scratch The Ultimate DJ backed by Mix Master mike and Numark. The music game industry is headed for a revival, imo. Activision and Genius Products are likely to settle before trial in regards to Scratch The Ultimate DJ litigation currently pending in California court.

Genius Products and Activision have likely decided to settle out of court before trial.
Activision has deep pockets and this is great news for GNPR shareholders!!!!!!

Note To Self: Today is a great opportunity to go long GNPR. Buy on the dips, eom.
Note To Self: I missed the run, waiting for a lower entry point. Patience is a virtue, eom.
I agree. Liquidity is King! ;oP
Note To Self:
I am patiently waiting for a lower entry point, as the EK / Apple / Rim proceedings may likely take several turns for the better (or worse) as litigation progresses. Turbulence and Chaos is king too, imo.
Note To Self: The future of the Nuclear industry is unclear, and could potentially lead to an eventual downtrend in Uranium / Precious Metals, imo.
