Not as strange as that hack-job response predicting endless doom and gloom based on an email response stating the ECLIPSE product IS SLATED to incorporate EDIG's proprietary technology.
They stated clearly that VoiceNAV was not being incorporated into this first generation product, not ducking the question.
Now they state that the Write Behind technology IS SLATED for this first generation ECLIPSE product, but that's not good enough. Guess you'll just have to wait and see...no, seems you'd rather use supposition and innuendo.
Do you suspect EDIG did not receive revenues from Fujitsu-Ten too, based on that email response ?
"Based on expected increasing Odyssey 1000 sales as well as revenue derived from the Eclipse by Fujitsu Ten automotive stereo project, IFE systems, and other OEM projects and products, we expect revenues to significantly increase in the following quarter (fiscal Q1 2004)."
Share price will depend on
NEWS of new products from Fujitsu-Ten, Hewlett Packard and OEMs yet unnamed in Wireless, Odyssey-1000 sales, Digitalway's efforts in Europe/Asia, new products from Bang & Olufsen, In Flight Entertainment announcements and how close this company comes to making a profit.
The market will determine the share price based on improvement in the company's business, new partners and products, an improving economy with money flowing back into stocks and how significant of a turn around they have achieved after a difficult business climate.
Also, the market will examine any new and significant proprietary technology being incorporated into new product lines that have implications to next generation products.
Should EDIG succeed on one or more of these business fronts I suspect they will continue to raise capital to grow the business and expand into more markets.
In light of all the above mentioned opportunities I think the market would take a forward looking stance on EDIG, not unlike before, but this time based on some very solid product offerings.
As for your July time frame, I am not short term on this stock, especially now, and never have predicted share price,
however, I will go out on a limb and guess it will be higher than today's level.
As far as how high, I have no idea.

What's that worth should it become a sought after feature and what is the cost to EDIG from this point forward ?
I think Fujitsu-Ten understands that concept.
SWEET !
Sentinel, maybe they gave Fujitsu-Ten an exclusive.
Just guessing of course, but it certainly would fit with the O-1000 concept since it has an FM tuner.
Wouldn't that blow them away !?!?!
Tenderloin, the more and cheaper the portable hard drive offerings, the sooner the price will drop, making products EDIG designs that much more accessible to the consumer.
You obviously spotted my earlier post regarding Fujitsu's new 80 gig 2.5" hard drive.
Keep the information flowing. Much appreciated.
Gilgamash,
I do remember Collier stating that EDIG would not be betting against Bill Gates and Company, with regard to the design of the O-1000 and other concept products.
As for VoiceNAV, my last info here was that F-Ten decided to not use it in this first generation ECLIPSE. Maybe they'll save that feature for factory installed products(forward, hopeful looking statement)
Better yet, why not license it to every car audio system in the world...and home systems too, for that matter.
Of all the features of an in-car-MP3 changer, that one feature that is most compelling is downloading directly from the radio signal with the delay factor...no computer interface, no time consuming archiving, just drive and download at the touch of a finger.
I can see this as a must have option.
The fact that EDIG owns that feature is an eye opener for me.
Did you know this re ECLIPSE ? "The MP-3 Changer also introduces the first ever (Patent Pending) Write Behind capability for post signal music/information capture."

Is this EDIG technology or just part of the ECLISPE system from another company ?
Thanks,

DickPick,
Just trying to stay current on how the hard drives are getting smaller with greater capacity.
I don't know who Fujitsu-Ten buys their hard drives from for their next generation ECLIPSE model, but being informed of the latest developments is always a good idea.
Maybe I should have OT'd the article.

80 gigs in 2.5" by Fujitsu...Fujitsu Announces Industry Leading Hard Disk Drive
Latest Mobile Hard Disk Drive Offers 80GB of Storage Capacity at 5400RPM In an Ultra-Slim 9.5mm Form Factor
San Jose, CA, May 27, 2003 — Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc. (FCPA), one of the world's leading suppliers of hard disk drives and computer peripherals, today bolstered its mobile hard disk drive (HDD) market growth by introducing its new 80GB, 5400RPM MHT-AH mobile drive in a 2.5" 9.5mm form factor. Today's news follows the recent announcement of Fujitsu's next generation MHT series hard disk drives, the broadest range of 2.5" 4200RPM mobile HDD products in the industry.
The MHT-AH is the latest mobile hard disk drive to support Fujitsu's goal of providing increased capacity drives in a reduced form factor allowing manufacturers to look beyond traditional notebook PCs to high-end mobile and server applications.
High areal densities of up to 69Gb/in2, combined with Spin Valve GMR heads, GDT media, and MEEPRML read channel technologies enable these large-capacity hard disk drives to deliver outstanding performance. Fujitsu's new MHT-AH mobile hard disk drive also offers a 22% improvement in average latency compared to current 4200RPM products. Buffer size is expanded to 8MB, allowing for high throughput and resulting in impressive performance improvement. The FDB spindle motor technology dramatically improves non-operating shock tolerance and decreases acoustic noise. With capacities of 40GB, 60GB and 80GB, a 5400RPM rotational speed, and a 2.5" form factor these hard disk drives are big enough to hold large multimedia presentations, fast enough to run them, and small enough to fit in today's compact mobile computers, notebooks, consumer electronic devices and server applications.
"Producing a 5400RPM mobile hard disk drive with 80GB of storage capacity is a terrific accomplishment for Fujitsu and the industry as a whole," said Mark Geenen, founder of TRENDFOCUS, the leading market analysis firm dedicated to the HDD industry. "TRENDFOCUS believes the mobile HDD market will eclipse 55 million units in 2006. Cost-effectively hitting the 40GB and 80GB capacity points opens up significant growth potential in both PC and consumer electronics markets."
Technology
Fujitsu's MHT-AH series of mobile hard disk drives employ GDT (Glass Direct Texture) Media enabling nearly a 30% increase (comparing with Fujitsu's MHS series) in areal density of up to 69Gb/in2 and up to 40GB per disk while improving media resolution and noise reduction resulting in improved data integrity. Building on Fujitsu's mobile HDD technology leadership the MHT-AH series utilizes Fujitsu's fourth generation of FDB (Fluid Dynamic Bearing) motor and Head Load / Unload mechanism with Inertia Latch technology.
"Avnet will use Fujitsu's 5400RPM 2.5" mobile hard disk drives to build reliable solutions for the mobile computing market. With an increase in storage capacity and rotational speed our customers will realize new storage applications that will improve their mobile computing experience," said Pat Cathey, president, Avnet Applied Computing, North America. "We appreciate the delicate business of manufacturing mobile hard disk drives and Fujitsu's history in the market instills confidence that our customers are receiving the most advanced solutions available today"
Specifications
As a result of Fujitsu's technology leadership and innovation the MHT-AH series provides industry-leading specifications that are critical for today's mobile computing applications:
Non-Operating Shock of 900G (1ms)
Operating Shock of 225G (2ms)
Track to Track Seek Times of 1.5ms
"Fujitsu's ability to introduce a market leading product in today's highly competitive environment is the combination of 35-year history in the HDD business coupled with a corporate belief in research and development," said Joel Hagberg, vice president OEM sales / product management, Fujitsu Computer Product of America. "Fujitsu's new MHT-AH mobile hard disk drives build on our success in the mainstream mobile HDD market. Fujitsu's new MHT drive offers increased capacity and rotational speed, while providing a platform for emerging interface trends for 2.5" hard disk drives."
Availability
Samples will be available in the second calendar quarter of 2003.
hollywoodhills, curious,
did RP participate in any of the recent "insider buying" at ATCO ?
Gilgamash, yes, congrats to ATCO shareholders. When one glances at their quarterly reports you see the typical trappings of an emerging company.
Good news and evidence of break out deals can still drive the share price, as we all know.
I wonder if they have bashers on their boards trying to make news out of such issues.
Filed just two weeks ago...re: ATCO
"We incurred net losses of $8,220,132, $5,046,219 and $3,068,046 in the fiscal years ended September 30, 2002, 2001 and 2000 and a net loss of $3,585,951 for the six months ended March 31, 2003. We have substantial research and development and general administrative expenses, and our revenues from our audio technologies and portable consumer products have not yet been sufficient to offset these costs."
THE STOCK MARKET IS FORWARD LOOKING.
