Matt,
the chances are good.
However, that is a fine line which unfortunately gets crossed from time to time, some of which is an over reaction from both sides.
You have to admit that she has a similar effect on the majority of the board, who just happen to be investors not taking her constant attacks on their investment in EDIG lying down.
Discussing old stuff ?
You mean like new business ventures for the company with several new product deals instead of the gross dissection and distortion of the safe harbor statements and standard 10Q lingo ?
I hate it when I talk about Hewlett-Packard, wireless and a yet to be named MAJOR OEM as the end customer. Certainly a dot not worth discussing.
Dissecting and distorting the safe harbor statements are always more appropriate discussions for these boards because doing so annoys investors and gives the jailhouse a "raison d'etre"...
Keep beating your drum.
I see court is back in session.
Welcome back.
Next order of business: request to be released on my own recognizance.
Oh Matthew,
forgetting some of the incarcerated ?
When does the court reconvene ?
Free-er Speech on the Net
How comparable is content posted on the Internet to content published in, say, a newspaper? Not comparable at all, a federal court decided last week, and the ruling may have broad implications for many people who post content to the Web, including Web loggers (bloggers), and participants in collaborative communication forums. The ruling, which came from the Ninth Circuit Court of appeals, stems from a legal dispute involving the republication online of a defamatory message. In the summer of 1999, a handyman named Robert Smith was working for an attorney named Ellen Batzel at her home in North Carolina. According to Smith, Batzel told him and others that she was related to Nazi party officials including Heinrich Himmler. Smith said that Batzel also told him that some of the paintings in her house were inherited. Smith thought the paintings had actually been stolen, though. The full story of how this evolved into a court case is here.
"In the end, the Ninth Circuit Court found that "there is no reason inherent in the technological features of cyberspace why First Amendment and defamation law should apply differently in cyberspace than in the brick and mortar world."

Don't think so. So, for the rest of you here, especially the handful who seem to have life sentences, is the jailhouse your favorite place ?
And, what is the length of the term for speaking your mind ?
So show me the post you call mudslinging.
Matt,
Not certain why I am here but most likely due to dialogueing with cassandra, yet I see she continues to post.
FYI, yesterday she PM'd me several times, apparently in an attempt to bait me, as follows, and apparently it worked. She is a devious one.
No way. If you're really as long Cassandra

Kind of a shame that you choose this time to remove me from the EDIG board just as the stock is showing strength.
At your mercy ! My apologies but would really like to be directed to the post that caused this problem so I can better detect where your line of demarcation is.
Thanks,
DABOSS
OK Matt, I suppose either I said something to
cassy that you took exception to or you want me off the boards while EDIG is showing strength...the former is most likely the reason but in this day and age both appear as reasonable possibilities.
I thought I was being careful and not really certain which post qualified me for parole violation.
Please except my apologies. I will check my PMs to see what's up.
rr, spin it baby. (surprise) Odyssey 1000s for sale NOW at www.edig.com--see store.
So today's volume and price increased from the previous days trading, intraday up another 10% and finishing up 1.6%.
We are above the 5, 13 and 20 day moving averages and been given bullish indicators by this group, (http://www.stockta.com/cgi-bin/analysis.pl?symb=EDIG&num1=1&cobrand=), yet we have been distracted from this by a discussion about today's shareholder alert(e-mail), standard language in the alert, and a rehash of 3 year old business.
My apologies to this board.
Back to the investment. Webcast slated for next week, IMO, along with details of NEW BUSINESS.
That was a shareholder alert coinciding with the email. Was it released to the wire services ?
What PR did I miss today ? All I saw was the email O-1000 firmware update.
Please post.
The firmware update adds value to the product and helps build confidence that this company is committed to making the consumer experience a good one.
While Apple gives its customers a $50 certificate towards their next $450 outlay of cash, with NO FM, Voice Recorder, VoiceNAV, and has already made their next generation product with less battery time, EDIG continues to support its customers with FREE added value.

cass, it wasn't a PR but an e-mail to O-1000 owners announcing the firmware update with instructions.
MIR, IBM made the prospect of EDIG being involved in several devices very real to this market...both played a role in driving the share price.
Face it, you know nothing of the HP deal yet are assuming that due to past results this deal will follow the same path.
The fact that HP is gearing up for this explosion in products via the growing collaboration with billion dollar companies like IBM and SAMSUNG sheds an interesting light on room for a more and diverse product line.
The article stated any company could join the group.
MIR,
it was the IBM news that helped propel EDIG to $24.50...certainly not chopped liver as far as the market was concerned.
Now look at what Hewlett-Packard and other major players are saying in a more rational or cautious environment, then realize EDIG is involved in a project with info due out this week or next. You just never know...
Technology giants team up for easier home networks
AMSTERDAM, June 24 (Reuters) - Seventeen of the largest computer, consumer electronics and mobile phone companies on Tuesday said they have agreed on common standards to make it easier for consumers to swap digital music and pictures at home.
Companies in the Digital Home Working Group (DHWG) include Hewlett-Packard <HPQ.N>, International Business Machines Corp. <IBM.N>, Microsoft Corp. <MSFT.O>, Intel Corp. <INTC.O>, Gateway Inc. <GTW.N>, Nokia <NOK1V.HE>, Sony Corp. <6758.T>, Matsushita <6752.T>, Sharp Corp. <6753.T>, Samsung Electronics <05930.KS>, Thomson <TMS.PA> and Philips <PHG.AS>.
"A seamless environment for sharing and growing new digital media and content services will make home networking transparent, so consumers can more easily create, manage, access and share digital content," the group said in a statement.
The first products that are compatible with the new standard will be on the market by the second half of 2004, said Cesar Vorhringer, chief technology officer at Philips's consumer electronics unit, Europe's largest consumer electronics group.
"The timetable is aggressive," he said, adding that any other company was welcome to join the group.
He said there were too many, sometimes conflicting, standards that prohibited consumers from easily sending pictures from a digital camera to a television set, or music from a computer to a digital HiFi set.
The working group had already agreed to make certain technologies de facto standards. WiFi, for instance, will be set as a wireless standard for the physical network, while other technologies have been selected for network protocols, device control and digital formats.
All companies supporting the initiative would support these open standards in their products, alongside their own proprietary technologies if they wish, he said.
One element they have not yet agreed upon is how to set standards for digital rights management (DRM), which is aimed at protecting copyrighted media, such as music and films.
"We're going to be busy establishing that framework. We have to set the basic rules and tools to deal with that," Vorhringer said.
The fact that DRM issues still needed to be sorted out would not mean a slowdown of the rest of the standardization process, because most homes own a lot of digital content that is free from copyright, such as home videos and pictures, he added.
"A large part of content is 'in the clear', and we'll have to make sure our devices interoperate for that content," he said.
MIR,
unrealized expectations from 3 years ago came at a time when the markets for products utilizing EDIG technology were forward looking, and while investors were investing with a forward looking perspective, we saw a market that was not receptive for many reasons(economy, cuts in spending, RIAA and label issues etc), to these new products.
However, I would not paint all future EDIG deals with the broad brush stroke you are wielding as we are seeing specific products for seperate markets appear. IFE offers a new and bright future application while Fujitsu-Ten is about to offer the auto stereo market a MP3 changer with EDIG technology as well. Add to that the UPDATED Odyssey 1000 and products are filling the pipeline.
You may be correct about the Hewlett-Packard deal and you may be wrong, but this is a new line with new partners in a recovering economy, not one hindered by the ominous bear we were facing 3 years ago. And Hewlett-Packard is not chopped liver.
So tell me, you're still long because...
MIR, we are expecting NEWS regarding the Softeq/Hewlett-Packard deal by months end.
That is the main force behind this rally and not some mysterious and orchestrated trick.
Depending on the nature of the news this stock could be perceived as greatly undervalued, and that is fueling the speculation, IMO.
Other business developments are also anticipated to be discussed in the coming webcast.
Kazaa Adds Licensed 'Channels'
By atnewyork Staff
Controversial peer-to-peer software firm Sharman Networks has released a new version of Kazaa Media Desktop application, adding licensed content channels, a rewards program for content-sharing and new security features.
Kazaa, a target of the Recording Industry Association of America's (RIAA) efforts to block piracy of copyrighted works, said v2.5 of its desktop application would add licensed content via new 'Channels' for users to search, browser, trial and buy third-party content.
While use of the software remains free, the new Kazaa channels -- hawking anything from 'hip hop' content to steaming music -- adds a business twist to the rogue P2P app, which is used primarily to download and share digital music and movies for free.
The company said channels would be added in the future to shuttle content and services from extreme sports footage, wireless software, broadband services, mobile ring-tones, searchable document archives, online libraries and further audio and video content.
Kazaa v2.5 also adds the Altnet Peer Points Manager, an incentive-based application that rewards users for sharing licensed content.
As destructive virus writers continue to target Kazaa users, the company said security has been tightened in the latest version. BullGuard, the default anti-virus feature has been ramped up to quarantine and delete dangerous files shared via P2P.
The addition of licensed content channels on Kazaa comes on the heels of a similar move my Joltid to piggyback on users' bandwidth to cut down on server expenses for content distributors.
Joltid, based in Sweden, is marketing PeerEnabler as a P2P content distribution platform that which makes use of idle bandwidth to distribute files from third-party firms to other users. "For software developers and content publishers, PeerEnabler will greatly increase and broaden the services available and reduce the cost for content distribution," Joltid explained.
Trend, that's a thought
and certainly not out of the realm of possibilities.
Feature rich and now smooth as silk with MORE battery time.
What OEM wouldn't step in with this unique product ?
Baffles the mind.
The free firmware upgrade continues to add value to the purchase.
Close: 0.305~ High: 0.330~ Volume: 1,821,600
Well, with all the firmware issues now addressed, and hopefully having access to the smaller HDD, the distinguishing factors will now be FM, VoiceNAV, Voice Recording, and a mirrored finish vs the plastic case...
maybe now an OEM will move to center stage.

Tech Heavyweights Align for Swapping Digital Content
By Michael Singer
Looking to simplify the way that consumer electronics devices share digital music, photos and video, 17 major vendors Tuesday joined forces under an umbrella of interoperability, open standards and digital rights.
Dubbed the Digital Home Working Group (DHWG), the non-profit organization will build a platform based on certain technical design guidelines. Companies will then be able to use the specs to develop digital home products that share content through wired or wireless networks in the home, while protecting the content from piracy.
The group's membership reads like a "Who's, Who" of tech giants including: Fujitsu, Gateway, Hewlett-Packard, Intel, IBM, Kenwood, Lenovo, Matsushita Electric (Panasonic), Microsoft, NEC CustomTechnica, Nokia, Philips, Samsung, Sharp, Sony, STMicroelectronics and Thomson.
"When Intel and Sony initially conceived the idea of a blue chip working group collaborating and applying open industry standards to speed up development of interoperable products, we knew we were onto something big," said Intel vice president Louis Burns. "Bringing the power of the PC to the Digital Home is going to be key to allowing consumers the ability to create, edit, store and stream their music, videos and photos to anywhere in the home."
The group said plans on testing some products and systems ready in the first quarter of next year, and have products on the market by the second half of 2004.
Some of the products the DHWG has in mind include PCs, TVs, set-top boxes, printers, stereos, mobile phones, PDAs, DVD players, digital projectors and other devices.
The need to come together is based on the huge increase in broadband adoption and digital media device sales. The companies say their consumers want to enjoy their content, regardless of the source, across different devices and locations in the home. However, the group points to a number of conflicting standards and media formats.
The DHWG is expected to use well-known and established standards such as Internet Protocol (IP), Universal Plug-and-Play (define), Wi-Fi (define), and other common formats. Over time, the group says the guidelines will evolve to incorporate emerging or subsequent versions of existing standards.
To make the playing field completely level, the DHWG says format interoperability will be achieved by requiring certain formats that meet specific criteria. The format must be an open standard that has been formally ratified by an internationally recognized standards organization, and IP must be licensed under reasonable, non-discriminatory terms.
"One of the critical requirements for mass-market success of networked devices is true and reliable interoperability. IDC Consumer Devices & Services Programs director Danielle Levitas said in a statement. "The Digital Home Working Group has proposed a sound and fair baseline of interoperability standards, which is an important milestone towards realizing this vision."
Based on these guidelines, the group will then consider a set of programs including certification, compliance logos, marketing and promotion, which all communicate the benefits of the digital home to consumers and the industry alike.
Some of the biggest obstacles will be issues surrounding digital rights management. In the past proprietary methods have either been ineffective or too complex. The DHWG says it will instead create a format that can be used by all devices but can accommodate other formats.
The group did not say if it would court additional membership such as Apple or Palm, which also deal with consumer devices.

I agree, Gilgamash. This is going up due to encouraging business prospects, several which you noted.
Investor confidence is building and the opportunity is coming back into focus.
Now we await the news while investors reposition.
It took a little while to build the base around .22-.24 before blowing out overhead resistence at .27.
According to this group, next level of resistence is .35 and the base at .30-.32 is looking strong.
As events unfold, can .40 be far off ?
