This is getting too depressing - we need a cheerleader here! There must be some good news somewhere!
By the way,I did hear the Lightwave advertisement early this afternoon on the Kudlow radio program. It was perfectly fine, it is just a venue that I fear will not generate any real investor interest. I follow a bioteck stock that has advertised on Kudlow as well and they have not had any increase in volume or share price since they started this four or five months ago.
Why do you say that, X?
There is a bio tech company that I am aware of that started advertising on the Kudlow radio show a number of months ago but there has been no discernible effect on their stock price as of yet. I hope that I am wrong, but I doubt that this particular media effort will prove very effective. Given the complicated nature of the business, I would think that a well-written article in one of the online sources might be a better use of the money. One needs to understand what the company is trying to achieve in order to want to invest in it.
I am surprised at the negative sentiment that is expressed by the share price today. Obviously a number of people are getting out of their positions. Did anyone at the shareholder meeting get a feeling that a significant group was discouraged enough to give up at this point?
Thanks so much for keeping us informed. It is very heartening to hear that you and the others have basically come away positive. Things may not be moving at the speed that we would like but they are moving! It is good to hear that all the "heavyweights" were there. All of you seem to have been impressed with the quality of the people working there - which is so important. Thanks again for the post.
Thank you Rickface and Inversor for your reports. I think we all wish we could have been there for the lab tour. Hopefully, if we hang in here this will eventually come to fruition. Thanks again for your update.
I think a liquid lunch may have intervened!
The Level II response seems rather tepid.
For those of us who cannot be there for the meeting tomorrow, does anyone know if there will be any way for us to follow on the internet? There is nothing that I can find on the website to say whether or not the meeting will be recorded.
Thanks, Proto. We do all need reasons to keep the faith. It certainly hasn't been easy for the past year while our patience has been eroded! I hope that you are planning to be at the meeting.
Steve, Your contributions to this board are very much appreciated by everyone. Please do not let one disgruntled soul make you feel otherwise. Keep up the good work!
I am disappointed that there was no mention of EMP. I would take that to mean that something has happened with that relationship. Since he did mention Boulder, the fact that he left out EMP seemed significant to me.
Do you have a link?
Does the fact that we have not had any kind of PR in the last few days mean that Tom will not say anything new at tomorrow's conference?
Thank you X and Walter for your words of reason. I know that we are all feeling very unsure right now of the path that is unfolding for LWLG. Ultimately, I think that we all have faith in the management and the knowledge that they are working in our best interests, even though it may be a slower process than any of us would like.
Unfortunately, none of the stocks that I have invested in have ever particularly benefited from appearing at a conference such as SeeThruEquity. I believe that it will be a non-event. However, if they can announce in the near future a working prototype of a modulator with EM Photonics, I think that would be a major morale boost for the PPS.
Another Belgian connection!
Pitcook, I agree that if we were involved in the Intel innovation that has been described our SP would have inevitably gone up. Too many people are involved and too many ways for information to leak out. I think that we would have had something signed with them by now as well. I hope that I am proven wrong...
Yes, I too would like to hear from X and to get his assessment.
My only caveat here is that I do not see the volume in the stock that we would likely see if there were truly something "huge" in the making. There would have to be more leaks out there that would fuel higher volume. Someone's friend, mother, colleague.... would start to buy. Please someone tell me that I am wrong! I certainly hope that there is a huge announcement coming but I think that this may be a more gradual process than some are anticipating. I would be delighted if I am mistaken.
Why do you think that it will be more transformational? And why do you think a merger with a smaller company is not happening? Certainly the last PR didn't rule it out.
Al Crespo on the Yahoo message board received a foreclosure sale notice from someone on March 8th. He has posted his email address on the website for anyone who would like a copy of the notice. His address is: al(at)alcrespo(dot)net
A couple of the people from the Yahoo MB have been trying to find out what this all means for us. You might want to join our conversation. If you email Al he can connect you to our dialogue.
H8ster,
Do you have any up to date information on this company? I am under the impression that they are auctioning off the remaining assets, which would include the patents, in the first week in April. Do you know who we might contact to find out what our status is as shareholders? Any information would be very much appreciated.
Do you know what their combined debt totals?
Thanks for the reply, H8ster. I was under the impression that NWCI's creditors were also shareholders. Is that not the case?
H8ster, does this seem about an expected acceptance/rejection rate for patents? Do you have any idea as to why so many of these applications are being rejected? Is there enough in the body of the existing patents to give NWCI any reason to hope that another company might find their IP attractive?
I don't think that they are shutting down the message boards in Yahoo Finance - just their general Yahoo message boards.
I think that the founder is Frederick J Goetz not Frederick E Goetz.
X, you are awfully quiet! I have a feeling that you might be able to enlighten us a bit! Would love to hear your thoughts especially since you had the foresight to initially suggest that we might hear something after Valentine's day. You seem to be more in touch with what they are thinking. What is your take on this?
Has anyone tried to speak to Steve Cordovano about this? Not that he would say much, but he might be able to give us some reassurance that we are not being delayed because they have no positive results to report as of yet.
Well, I think that we can assume that it is a positive sign if they are hiring another lab technician.
Whatever job it was, seems already to have been erased from the list.
You are probably correct but it is interesting that someone would have made that slip of the tongue. Obviously, Lightwave is on his radar screen!
That is encouraging. It is good to know that they are aware of the situation and may be responding.
The points that you bring up are all valid. I guess that I am trying to keep myself from being disappointed with a PR that may be upbeat but not definitive!
I am somewhat concerned that we may be expecting too much from this Conference Call. I hope very much that it has been scheduled to discuss some new announcement but I fear that it may have been scheduled more with the idea of management keeping the shareholders informed (given the high rate of discontent that was manifest in late December). I continue to buy shares but I feel that our game-changer may not yet be in the works. I hope that I am wrong!
My assumption is that we will get some sort of PR before the conference call. I do not think that they will release any new information at 4pm on a Friday afternoon. Hopefully, the PR that preceeds it will give us something tangible.
I have to say that I am surprised with the resounding silence that has greated this announcement! The only pressure in the stock this morning seems to be negative. I would have thought that this would have caused at least a little buying pressure.
H8ster, Thank you for keeping us updated on the patent process. Do you have any assessment of where the company now stands? And do you have any speculation as to the ability of the company to attract a buyer in its current condition?
