Thanks. That is good news
That what NOK got when they screw their friend. Everyone knew that I threw Nokia phone away 2 years ago. They knew how I dislike Nokia. Now not a single person dare to show me their Nokia phone (if they have one). I actively stop them from buying Nokia.
If one time payment does not help increase stock price, they should use some of that money to buy back a few million shares and/or dividend payment. That would help to create demand on stock.
OT Either market stupid or we are. I don't understand either.
LEXR Market cap still ~$410 millions. Stock still about $5
Jury award $465 millions.
TOKYO, June 24 (Reuters) - The head of Toshiba Corp. (6502.T: Quote, Profile, Research) said on Friday the company would consider a "legal response" to a California jury verdict ordering it to pay Lexar Media Inc. (LEXR.O: Quote, Profile, Research) $465 million in punitive damages.
In March, Toshiba was ordered to pay Lexar the giant sum after the jury found it had stolen Lexar trade secrets related to NAND-type flash memory, which is widely used in digital cameras and photo-snapping mobile phones.
You need to confirm with them that you wish to exercise option 17.50 CALL. It may not be automatic exercised since less than 25 cents in money.
IMO : $300 millions sound good.
$100 millions for stock buy back up to 5 millions shares.
$100 millions for R & D, patents buying and/or M/A
$100 millions for future war chest.
I said. If he wants to exercise the options that he had "NOW". It would be much cheaper to CLOSE OUT call options that he had then buy shares instead of exercise option. You never want to exercise option when they still have TIME VALUE. Read again. The cost of option that he paid before had nothing to do with it.
I have been in option so many years. I know.
I had that June 17.50 Call. It is much cheaper to close out and buy shares.
Assume exercise 10 contracts to get 1,000 shares, you pay $17,500 (not include commission)
Close out option get $2400 buy 1000 shares now cost $18,870
Total cost $18,870 less $2400 = $16,470
That is $1,000 different.
Normally all negotiation is done by third party in order to avoid becoming emotional involved and hard feeling. I believe in this case probably their law firm on both sides and feed back the proposal and different to CEO of each side. After that, Final agreement is to be signed off by both sides. Both side do not required to be at the same place and/or time. That what was happens to me. It was all done by lawyer.
I had 95 contracts in JUNE alone. Some are in Money, others are not. Even with a good news come and increase in price of CALLS. More likely I will CLOSE most (or half) of the call contracts for profit and use some of those money to exercise some of the option to have more core shares. Don't expect all "In-money call" to be exercised.
NO MARGIN.
I just curious wonder what would happens if good news come out like 6:00 PM. Price shot up. Out of money option 17.5 calls. Now become in-money call. However it is no longer traded. I bet they are mad like hell.
I have not received any of its yet (4 accounts) via. Ameritrade
I think and I vote. No need to publicize. This is my personal vote (with a lot of voting shares for many accounts). Thanks for all pro and cons.
Before / After hour market always over react one way or others. That is my past experience. We probably down today but not the same magnitude as before/after hours trading.
That is what my thought for gentlemen agreement that IDCC must let HG go before settlement. Then Merrite (ITC patents boss) become CEO. That is possible.
I believe it close at 6:30 PM last at 18.19 PM @ $13.02 500 shares.
I believe that call Insider trading. SEC will have a fit. Somebody will go to jail for it. Stock manipulation.
IMO : We should learn how to play MCI games with 2 bidders+ Verizon/Qwest.
BTW: we would need real good investment banker to do it.
Now a day, I don't know how investor value the stock anymore. LEXR win patents suit against Toshiba worth $465.4 Millions dollars but itself has market cap of ~$370 millions. It may be wise to take some of the table with big win event.
OT OT:
bulldzr
WOW: I just check the amount of donation on your bail $906. Almost half way there. IDCC board still have a lot of people with good heart.
OT OT:
A few extra minutes search for Mickey in Google. I think he won't mind to show his address. It is already on Public record.
His adress is on the link below

Mickey Britt Tallahassee, Florida: What do you think about the chances for a Interdigital Communications victory over Ericsson A.B. in the upcoming February 10th 2003 trial for patent infringement on this 10 year old case? Especially since Ericsson just lost a patent infringement case to Harris in the same federal court just a few months back and was found to have willfully infringed. The same lawyers for Ericsson in the Harris case will be representing Ericsson against Interdigital and the same law firm that represeted Harris will be representing Interdigital. Harris was awarded 61 million for 2 years of infringement, and Interdigital is seeking way over 10 years of infringement and a punitive damages and a cease and desist. I hope you will express your opinon on what a Interdigital victory or even settlement would mean to the Interdigital stock. Thank You Mickey Britt
Andy Seybold: This is about the third time I have qotten this question--I am not an attorney and I will have to do what the rest of you have to do--wait and see- the rest of the stuff is just noise to me--who represents whom etc.
OT: Come on help the guy out. If we all believe IDCC will win, A few dollars here won't hurt. Good Deed will return to us with IDCC win. This will give us a good luck. Please be generous with a good cause.
Where is our wealthy friend on board?
BTW: I just notice they will give you a receipt for donation for income tax purpose (if this would help a little).

InterDigital Communications
InterDigital Communications (IDCC: sentiment, chart, options) develops and licenses circuitry designs, software, and other technology using CDMA and TDMA wireless telecommunications standards. The firm is also developing microchips and software to enable voice and data transmissions in mobile phones and portable computing devices. The security has slid lower since the end of 2004 under pressure from its 10-day and 20-day moving averages. The stock has also dropped below its 10-week trendline, but continues to cling to support at the 15 level. This region has buoyed the security on a number of occasions during the past two years.
Sentiment is somewhat mixed toward the technology company. Options speculators are still leaning toward the bulls' camp, as calls easily outnumber puts in the front three months of options. The security's SOIR of 0.40 is also lower than two-thirds of the readings taken during the past year. On the other hand, short interest inched two percent higher in March to 2.55 million shares, or five percent of the equity's total float. The stock also carries a healthy short-interest ratio of 5.62, providing ample fuel for a short-covering rally. Wall Street is even hesitant to jump on this stock, with four of the five analysts following IDCC rating it a "hold."

Yes. That a good general satellite map but you can not zoom for more details. This site may be better zoom in location (probably same data base).

Put in your house address and zoom.
When they wait until last minutes and after hours on the last day to release this non-event news. IDCC really kills the stock. Some folks would assume to be bad news and sell. I just wonder about IDCC intention.
What a relieve : Nothing change. "indicating that no material weaknesses were present". They should have release this report during normal hours. Some nervous folks sell that why we have 60 cents drop. So I guess we will bounce up tomorrow.
Market as a whole going down (ie.. interest rise, bond down, federal and trade deficit, etc..) Small investor going out of market for good. My retirement fund was on cash (money market and guarantee fund with certain interest, etc..). Lucky that they did not allow me to put money on any one stock. I am too optimistic with IDCC that why I am in a deep hole. What can I say?. IDCC is my last holding. Hopefully to be able to get out some portion of it with winning after Nokia resolution. This make me feel as gamble instead of investing.
What is TV network for Kramer? Thanks
IMO : CFO who could not remember important financial number (or had that figures in hand at all time and produce weak financial report under his watch) got to go.
AMS: It is not that I am happy with the stock price at this time. If it is not because of potential reward/risk with Nokia/Samsung, I would sold out from this and holding cash. I felt like gamble not as investment as of now. What would it help to keep complaining about it? I am hurting as much as you. I will not keep complaining to make it worse. I lost in magnitude of $100k.
Yes. Firefox 1.0.1 is much better and faster.
Link for the one that interest to download
http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/
Just download it. It will close previous version and install new version.
Close within 10-25 cents. It won't matter much. It is up to IN-MONEY option holder to execute the option or not. Normal practice it won't execute $17.50 CALLS for a few cents different. I think option holder have up to 4:30 pm to notify their broker (different per each broker)of their intention. But no option trade after 4:00 pm.
No trading on Monday? President's day?
If I have gut, I would have SOLD both call 17.5 & put 17.5 since both would expire worthless (or close to worthless) at least for both January & February. I only sold PUT not CALL. That is how they made money.
I did underestimate their power.
Lastchoice: I think you are right. I should learn the game by now. Let's see if they would PUT me 1000 if under $17.50. I will take them.
I could not resist too: Buy 500 @17.91
