It's easier to take a game 7 loss in the ALCS when (a) you're in the playoffs pretty much every season (b) have won the whole enchilada twice in recent years.
:)
Cringely is a fraud. The "prediction" he self-congratulates himself for was already in shipping Macs 2 years ago. *Any* poster on this board has more insight into Apple than does he.
Well I hope someone does, 'cause I have some to sell! :)
Anybody seen Lango lately?
Well that is....curious! EOM.
I'm really wondering if there isn't a big change coming with Big Papi. Theo and his high-dollar version of Moneyball aren't going to be too impressed, I think.
I think you're right, could be a terrific terrific WS. Unfortunately I suspect a lot of TV fans won't bother watching, which is really too bad.
Hell of series - congrats to Rays and their long-suffering fans - you earned it fair and square against a fierce opponent.
Oh baby - what a great way to start!
I understand he was driving a 2006 BMW at the time of his arrest. The real tragedy here is that the Yankees are paying this guy so little he has to drive a 2 year old car! If this is representative of how management is treating its up and coming stars, it's no wonder the Yankees have had so little playoff success in this decade.
'Course, the other question here is why the detox center is named after the U of Nebraska football team, but that's probably best left for another thread.
Hopefully he won't be needed. If history continues being a guide, the 7th game in a Red Sox comeback miracle has usually been quite the blowout.
Francona is gonna go to the Hall of Fame for sure if RS pull this off, again.
Fewest pitches for a win?
Hey, it may be a dumb attempt, but it is google-less! :)
Papelbon's first three pitches are 92, 92, 91. Is he broken?
That cable won't work. USB and Firewire are not signal-compatible, you need actual electronics to do a proper conversion.
Two run lead on the Rays isn't even remotely a sure thing. Red Sox need a super-clean 1-2-3 bottom of the sixth - that would really get the mental wheels churning both in the dugout and in the stands. Beckett has done what needed to be done, but I'm not sure he's the guy for that task.
We'd welcome you with open arms.
Or open bottles.
Or something. :)
You know it's gonna happen....
Clubhouse with Manny, A-Rod and Jeter would be something to see.
There is no such thing as "green electronics". Just like there's no such thing as a "green car".
You just cost Obama 2 points in the polls, LOL. EOM.
The only explanation I can think of is the underpinnings inside the OS to support the secure signal path are not done. Nothing else makes sense - least of all his "bag of hurt" statement which frankly borders on the insulting in its condescension.
Jobs is as good as gone - seriously - anybody buying the stock better be prepared for regime change anytime between Now and 24 months from now.
Yeah, you probably have a point...EOM.
Google is also kind enough to provide users with a 24-hour satisfaction guarantee, where unsatisfied users can return their application in this timeframe for a full refund...
The AppStore needs this too, as a huge percentage of the available applications are pure shite.
I'm on it. :) EOM.
I had no trouble envisioning a tie ball game in the 9th. But a tie ball game AND the following comment...
"Someone explain why he ever took out Kaz in the first place?"
...is waaaaay outside what I could have anticipated.
Story floating that there are already 1.5M pre-orders for the G1 gPhone.
I've used that feature exactly twice in my life - and it saved my a** both times. Probably the only way to fake this without firewire is to keep a spare external HD enclosure on hand.
I still refuse to believe that he is as talented as Manny at the plate..
Don't think there's a person on the planet who would suggest otherwise.
Hard times everywhere...
Oct. 16 (Bloomberg) -- Leigh Sogoloff, who spends her evenings lap-dancing at Rick's Cabaret Vegas on Procyon Street, says she's making half her income of a year ago.
"You don't shop, you don't buy stuff you can't afford,'' the 36-year-old Sogoloff said between dances at the Las Vegas club. She has postponed buying a house and is reading Deepak Chopra. "I know how to save money. I'm not a dumb stripper.''
There will be chrome and fins before this all over...
No worries, I totally get it. There is something visceral about solid hunks of metal that just cannot be replicated with plastic or composites or anything else, really.
EDIT: I'm thinking it's super for the kids. At that price, there's a heck of a lot less worries about a gummy bear getting jammed into the ethernet port of peanut butter smeared all over the screen. Wonder how well it runs iTunes? :)
Wow, the Dell is pre-wired for 3G.
EDITED: Sorry, not following your train of thought - Apple's $999 offering doesn't have anything close to a T9600.
Just looked on the Apple Store - cheapest laptop with T9600 is $2800.
This sucks! I was 4/4 in the first round and looking at 0/2 in the second! :(
Sounds like a campaign swimming in cash. Maybe he'll announce that they'll be using left over contributions to fund a new stadium for the Rays. :)
Geez....17", BluRay, 4gig RAM and HDMI out for under a grand? How is that possible when Bluray is "a bag of hurt"? I guess the good news is that Apple should have a lot of room to drop prices if sales hiccup.
With the new Cinema Displays, everything in the lineup except the just-announced laptops will need a dongle to connect.
A Dell catalog landed in the mailbox yesterday. First time in a while I've looked at their offerings. The $300 9" linux notebooks look pretty sweet! All solid state, light as a feather, and cheap as hell.
In general, my impression of the catalog is that the price differential is back, big time.
next year will tell the story as to building a fan base---
Should be interesting to watch. NBA has been reporting decrease in season-ticket sales, and it looks like MLB renewals are going to land smack-dab in the middle of the current crisis.
I really don't think it's in Tampa's interest to take their foot off their victim's neck.
Head of ECB talking about a return to Bretton Woods. UK seems to be supportive. Looks like regime change is coming to the monetary regime - whether the US likes it or not.
This sucks. Only consolation is last time they got smoked like this in the ALCS they rolled off 8 straight wins and took home the series.
Not.
@!#$@#$##.
Happy.
