don't forget the potential to be bought out, too.
seems like we made a heck of a mountain on that chart. . . seems like it's about time to make another one;)
and how exactly do you propose that this might happen? lol.
looks like our equipment won't be getting a shot in the near term to help out on this, as it appears the search team has run out of funding for now. this volunteer effort must have cost some big bucks. too bad. those guys are to be commended for their efforts.
Update: Mon 03-March 1345 hrs
With the sonar search completed, the RV Persistence sets sail heading to its home port in Louisiana. With mixed emotions, the search team returns home. When we arrived in Aruba in mid-December we were mentally prepared to return home either having found Natalee, or after having exhausted all possibilities in the quest to find her. It is difficult going home with many questions left unanswered and so many sonar targets remaining to be explored. Our comfort lies in knowledge that we have done the best job we could, that we can return to dive on the remaining targets when funded, and that answers may come in time. We feel that the search is not over but rather entering a new phase. We are thankful for the outpouring of generosity, love, support, and prayers throughout the entire search effort.

thanks for your usual above and beyond the call of duty investigation, brikk.
Sea-Note, we need you to post some more. You have more member marks than posts! 24 to 11. That's unheard of! Tell us some more good stuff about this company/industry!!!
sorry if this has been rehashed already. i've been out, and i scrolled through today's post but didn't see any real explanation, other than a possible typo (fat finger)?
regarding the 1.75 print (or prints, were there 2?), do you think that was just somebody's typo that made it onto the chart, or is there any way possible that a buyer somehow screwed up his order?
so are we back up to 1.75 already? LOL.
2.50 . . . and that just for starters
fwiw, Kiplinger is forecasting an average of $85 per barrel of oil for 2008, with the price coming down to $75 at some point in 2008. this would be good news on all fronts. it would help keep inflation in check, be good for the economy, and it would still be plenty high enough to keep demand up for deepwater.
indeed. that is, after all, the plan! makes me want to do a jds and say GO DPDW GO!
not sure. maybe spooky knows?
hey joe and brikk, spooky posted this helpful link which is a nice simple chart showing amex uplisting requirements. with all the uplisting talk, and the fact that uplisting is a stated ddi goal, this chart might be useful to have in the ibox so folks could easily refer to it. maybe we could even check off the requirements as we go? looks to me like there is basically only one thing left to accomplish in order to uplist: either a pps of $3, or $50 mil in pretax income. we've probably hit the stockholder equity floor of $4 mil by now. just a thought. i'd love to hear yall's thoughts about any of this stuff, and achieving the last hurdle. thanks again for all the work our mods, assistants and all our posters do with all the dd you find and analyze. it really helps neophytes like me.

thanks brikk. you da man. looks like we're knocking on the door to the magic $4 mil threshold, if we haven't already in fact passed it. i really appreciate all your work.
mk
speaking of uplisting, does anyone know where that poster "b9" got his $10 mil shareholder equity figure? was that an accurate projection? i thought the last time i saw a shareholder equity figure in one of the filings it was at about $2 mil. i remember the number had grown substantially though, so the $4 mil threshold may be in reach anyway. just wondering if that $10 mil. figure he used had a basis. brikk, i'm sending this to you because you may possibly know the answer by heart.;)
b9, where did you get this $10 mil. shareholder equity figure? just wondering. last time i saw the shareholder equity number that i remember it was around $2 mil., i think. Anyone else have any info on this?
I want to get back over a buck, because then I will go into my stealth ninja mode and creep up through the weeds and POUNCE ON THAT 2 DOLLAR beatch with my Rambo knife between my teeth and gut it like a fish. Then I will quietly regroup and begin my stalk of 2.35. sleep tight homes. ;)
what's your first goals for us tomorrow, Clay? Break above the 50 MA and don't drop down below it? Then what do we shoot for? Our last spike of .84 and then on to the 200 MA, which looks to be around 1.00? Thanks dude. How come no vid for such good news? We want to hear you screamin and doing backflips!
i wonder what tomorrow will bring . . .
i think it's more than just hearsay. sounds like all the guys in that inteview concur. thanks again, joe.;)
interesting indeed. thanks joe.
"Once we were where we needed to be, AMEX worked with us very closely and actively courted us to get this thing done. I think from the time we were ready to go to the time we were listed was eight or nine weeks."
this sound familiar?
"We also have a very high institutional shareholder base for a small company. I’d say 75 percent of our shares are in institutional hands. Our institutions were interested in a national listing since many institutions couldn’t buy the stock while it was listed on the Bulletin Board."

no doubt. maybe that's one of the things the street is feeling to cause this run: uplisting ;)
thanks spooky and chev. looks like we're well above the shareholder equity threshold. i guess the last hurdle to uplisting is either a $3 pps, or doing $50MM pretax income. I guess hitting the latter would probably also take care of the former? Unless we get hung up somewhere below FMV?
yeah jd, some of the guys have been kind enough to previously post the amex uplisting requirements, but frankly i don't trust my abilities enough to be sure when we hit every threshold. and like you, it seems i've been told we don't necessarily need a minimum pps if other factors are met. as b9 noted, surely one is shareholder equity. wonder what else we need? surely some kind poster will refresh us on what we're lacking . . .;) btw, heard anything on the joides flank?
regarding b9's post, do yall think that the recent infusion of big buyers was driven by the desire of those same big boys to get us into an uplist-able position? I know every shareholder's main desire is return on investment, but I'm wondering if yall have any other theories about our short-term spurt. I said a couple days ago that our recent bullish influx of big money led me to suspect that the street got wind of something bullish that hasn't hit the wires yet. If that is indeed the case, I'm wondering if this new influx is partly due to not only that, but also those same big money guys wanting to give us a boost toward uplisting. Sorry if my thinking out loud is obvious or simple-minded to yall, but I'm still new to pennyland.
i also notice that b9 has been around awhile but is new to our board. welcome b9.
well b9, this might be an understatement, but that's great news to me!
wow. we're really close to breaking above the 50 day. what happens then???
nice work joe, as usual.

XVIII. Sonar Search Complete
Update: Fri 29-Feb 2330 hrs
Since the 16th of December, off the west coast of Aruba the search team on board the RV Persistence has been combing the sea floor of an area 80% the size of Aruba. The Herculean side scan sonar search is nearing completion. Once finished, a final ROV dive target list will be constructed. This list is expected to well-exceed 100 targets. The timing and extent of the remaining ROV dive operations depends on weather, logistics, and funding.
The team is weary, yet filled with a sense of accomplishment. The team has performed very well even under the intense pressure, difficult terrain, rough seas, and often grueling pace.

Sounds like our turn at bat is coming up . . .
lol. REO frickin Speedwagon. love it. and more cheese for the site;)
i'm starting to think the street got wind of something big. not just our strong fundamentals, which have always been there. i'm thinking the street got wind of a big contract or something. we'll find out soon enough.
well, how de do!
looking like a high volume day shaping up.
Don't worry jd, i don't think it's a stretch to say that most guys in this sector drink their beer from bottles;) If the main point of ddi's site is focused toward its customer pool, i think it will do just fine. The wall street crowd might prefer a shinier front. And i'm sure the ddi guys will keep that in mind too. But what wall street really wants is bottom line numbers. If that's the worst the site will ever be, it will still be a very effective tool in generating that bottom line from its customer pool. It is well documented that there is a shortage of new engineers in the oilpatch, and that the top guns in the industry aren't getting any younger. Those are the guys calling the shots and, for the most part, those guys view websites as not much more than fancy yellow page ads, with the most important part being the phone number. Sure, that may be an overgeneralization, along with their preference for bottled beer, but for the most part, it's true;)
i'm sure your suggestions will be warmly received.
lol. think they know we're using the cams? that's great!
i think we like all the new info. we're so close to all this, we may not be looking at it with quite such a critical eye. i'm sure your post and sddt's post has been duly noted.
in fact, i think i'll take that as yet another reiteration of their 2.50 target;)
yep. that's frickin huge.
