The fact of the matter is NO ONE has been interested in buying (or licensing) the vplm patents since they were created long ago. The ONLY entities ever interested in them were DIGI-PHONY-CA & VPLM (formerly digi-phony-ca) 2 closely related, alleged & shady, voip service providers. Apparently they got involved by being reseller's, it true innovators. It's tough to determine, but as far as I can tell, neither of them had any success as Voip service providers. They became one in the very shady & lie filled 2013 "acquisition". Before that, digi-phony-ca said they wanted out of the business & wanted just cost for the patent applications (which they listed as approx $675,000) which is VERY shady & questionable since later, the main shareholder, emil Malak, said, on numerous occasions, that they paid (somewhere between 18-25 - the number always changes) voip engineers/code writers, some $15-20mm (the number always changes) to create the software. A very inconsistent & shady story indeed. So aside from the digi-phony-ca/vplm combo, no one EVER has expressed one iota of interest in owning, buying, partnering in or licensing the patents despite the fact that they have charged & filed numerous companies, conveniently, with infringement,citing well over $100 billion in damages, only for a handful of companies, not including some 50-55 other companies they named years ago, then mysteriously removed those names from their website. Originally, and for almost 2 yrs, vplm continually posted bogus PRs, promising shareholders & potential new investors, that they were about to integrate the patent pending technology into the or own (bogus) voip services provider business, would be immediately generating hundreds of thousands of new subscribers & hundreds of millions of dollars, per year, in royalties, as well as become the premier Voip service provider in the world, dubbing themselves ever since, as "the technicsal leaders of the Voip industry", a "leader" WITH NO FOLLOWERS!
They also assured shareholders on numerous occasions, that a sale was imminent in so many words. All this was intended to sell shares, many shares, and garner many investors into a fiat share selling scheme, a very smartly crafted & sophisticated one that has all the bases covered & has survived many yrs doing this and continues with the supoort of unwitting shareholders plus a cabal of supporters, many insiders, who are continuously treated to private placement sales of shares at huge reduced prices, which they hold for the necessary time then sell at big profit. Vplm has also, at least in the past, millions of dollars & hundreds of millions of shares to "promoters" for many & regular pump n dumps. The rest of the cabal sees to many other paid & non paid promos. Serious trials have been held up for yrs & yrs by one "monkey wrench" after another, to make it appear as tho full infringement trials were desired, when in fact, they just want the fiat share printing/selling machine to continue on as a slow but sure cash cow for the insiders & the rest of the "well connected" cabal. It's always been a shell game of misdirection & deception, same as the bernie madoff scheme on a small scale.
Above is my opinion based on 10 yrs of observation & prior experience with long running stock schemes.
