Mickey, I for one have always found your posts inspiring and entertaining. IMO, you ask questions that most of us would like answered.
NOW, if only you and Jim would quit bickering.
Jimlur and Mickey. IMO, the constant bickering between you 2 is not helping this forum. Just think what newcomers might think when they come here for the first time and see this school-yard behavior. Please quit!
Jimlur, I have to agree with you. Especially after reading Revlis's post on the premium board. It almost seems like Samsung, LG and others can keep advancing in the wireless market by using a complete spectrum of patents while putting a strangle-hold on Nokia who has limited access to these same patents. It's only natural that Nokia will get less of the market share. At least that is my take on this. JMO
Nope, no joke. Just because I signed up to the forum recently doesn't mean I have not been lurking here since the beginning of the forum. Also doesn't mean I have not been invested in IDCC for 8 or 9 years.
Btw, as long as you are calling us children, I'm 57. If you don't mind me asking, how old are you and how long have you been invested in IDCC?
One more btw, I thought Jimlur said it's ok to attack the post.......just don't attack the poster.
Ya think? With $10 a share in cash..............and don't forget recurring cash flow. IIRC, we will be getting another $200 million from Samsung alone this coming year, not to mention incoming cash from other licensees.
That said, you still think $30 buyout is in line?
Good answer, Badger. I guess I just figured I'd see a better ROI from my entry point years ago in the $19 range. I'm still not sure $40 buyout would be even close considering the supposedly potential of future licenses. Maybe I should have traded the stock instead holding. It seems many guys on this forum have may tons by trading.
Badger, when you say a buyout is "very acceptable", please tell me who finds this very acceptable. Certainly not to most shareholders.
Good point, Amr. Imo, if Merritt has confidence in our business plan he would propose a 2 for 1 split as our shareprice would or should never go below $9 after split. JMO
Geez, talk about thin skinned.......and to think I almost recommended you for a moderator.
Great post Nicmar. My thoughts exactly!
My 3 Sons, you seem to have a problem with views that differ from yours. Is it possible for you to become more open-minded about other opinions?
I have to agree you, John. I guess I made a huge mistake suggesting that My 3 Sons could moderate this forum. He does seem to handle contradiction poorly. Maybe Jimlur could find a suitable replacement if/when he decides to pass the baton.
I want to say that Jimlur has done a great job, until lately when he started the other board. It just appears that his patience is running a little thin.
Nic, you are right I am new to posting here but have been lurking here since the beginning. My thoughts are that Jim must be disappointed with this forum or he wouldn't have started the premium board.
I belong to many different boards not related to stocks and have seen a few moderators/owners pass the baton for various reasons. Seems that the most common reason is they get burned out from babysitting.
And, I really don't want to be a mod but also wouldn't want to see this board disappear. JMO
Jimlur, as Fish said it's a new day. Maybe what a previous poster said is true. It's possible that after years and years of babysitting numerous threads.........maybe you have been beatin down. As long as you now have the premium thread have you thought about maybe passing the baton regarding this thread? Maybe someone like Loop or My 3 sons would volunteer as moderator. Heck, I could even be a part-time moderator.
Anyways, it wouldn't hurt for you to think about passing the baton. I'm sure someone would come forward for the hand-off.
JMO
IDCC is holding up fairly well considering the dow and naz are down 2.5%
Another great email. Kudos to AMCSATX!
Jimlur, I'm aware that this your board so I ask you this with much respect.
Are you yourself pleased with the share price of IDCC considering all the huge bonuses that management has received? I for 1 am not. However I've only been invested for 9 years and know many guys here have been in a lot longer.
Great email, John. For some reason I now think that Merritt has heard our concerns loud & clear. Crystal clear!
Mickey asked:
"Do you not think this is the question's funds should be asking themselves right now today even as we speak, and if they do what do you think the answer should be? "
The fund manager should (IMO) tell his investors that IDCC is a SCREAMING BUY. I think someone else created the term "screaming buy" and I hope they don't mind if I borrow it.
Miller, although it's early in today's trading, there is no evidence of a retreat as of yet.

Funny that you mention the "sticky posts" as I too was wondering why they vanished.
Great post, Mickey. And, no, you're not an idiot. Yesterday's CC confirmed what you have been saying all along. I think it's time for shareholders to stand up and tell management we've had enough of this stagnant value of our shares. They got paid handsomely, now it's our time.
Btw, I have not received a response to the email I sent Janet yesterday. I'll post it if/when it arrives.
Did Nasgovitz have any other comments about IDCC? tia
Sheesh, where did everybody go? After a big day like today, you'd think this board would be buzzing.
Poch, please do! Email Janet and use "amiss" often.
Just curious, where did everybody go? Is there a new board starting up?
Here's my email to Janet Point:
Hi Janet,
After listening to the CC this morning I feel I have to convey my thoughts to IDCC. I've been invested in IDCC for 9 years now and am now asking myself about my investment in this company. We hear Bill Merritt keep saying things about increasing value for shareholders, but after 9 years the share price remains about the same as my entry price.
Bill Nasgovitz really opened my eyes today with comments about dividends and buybacks. A lot of fellow shareholders on IHUB are commenting on how management keeps getting bonuses, but shareholders get nada. I don't mean to express my disappointment towards you, but right now I don't know who to contact. It appears that the natives (including myself) are getting restless.
When a public company has $433,000,000.00 in cash and only has a cap of $800,000,000.00 and a $20 share price something is really miscontrued. In my opinion, a dividend and/or stock split would be appropriate. I hope you can pass my thoughts along to proper channels. Thank you!
We're up $2 after trading 2,000,000 shares :0)
Share price is up more than 10% so far. Yahooooooo!
You're wrong, Miller. Bill said "oh sh*t" when he thought the call was dropped. He said holy sh*t later on in the call.
Bim, I must have been in shock due to the "holy sh*t" comment. I guess I'm still in shock a little. I've never heard Merritt get tongue-tied before.
Please state who it is. Thanks!
Same caller just said "Holy Sh*t". LOL
I can't believe it!
Pantech? I think.
LOL, some caller just said "Oh Sh*t" on the air.
Too much cash? Another question about dividends. Merritt sort of danced around the question, but said they may distribute some cash to holders in the future.
Kudos to you, Mickey. Your post beat mine by 90 seconds lol.
Merritt just reinforced what Mickey has said all along. The longer Nokia waits to settle, the more expensive their license will be.
They have also been discussing another buy-back AND dividends.
Ahh, sorry Jimlur. For some reason I seem to block out stickies. I'll try to pay closer attention.
Thank you!
Good point, Wayne. I guess we'll have to wait til morning and see.
Does anyone know what time the CC is tomorrow? A phone # would also be appreciated. tia
