All indications is that Short will license. I love that because that would lock up world rice supply faster. Yahoo posters last week were saying that top management spent a who week in South America 2 weeks ago. I guess we hear something soon.

My believe is that the former CEO, Brad Edson was going to finance everything with stock offerings. There is evidence in the August 2006 conference call that Brad inflated revenues to get the PIPE in 2007. They after the top in 2007 NTRZ had to write off much of the fictitious earnings. The stock fell most big institutions left forever and the stock price could never gain traction under Brad again. Brad was in over his head and Patty before him was a good scientist, but not a pro at running a big company. So, management is the reason. But, Short is a pro and I look for big things and SOON. Brad did lay a framework for Short to use--China, PAHL countries and South America. Short is the luckiest man alive to take over thsi mis-managed company right now.
Focus on Argentina
136 wheat mills there in 2007.
http://www.world-grain.com/news/headline_stories.asp?ArticleID=99920
Argentina is one of the world’s most important grain and oilseeds exporting countries. It is by far the biggest soymeal exporter in the world, the leading soy oil exporter, and ranks third behind only the United States and Brazil for soybean exports. It is also one of the world’s top five exporters of grain.
In its November Grains Market Report, the International Grains Council (IGC) put Argentina’s total grains production at 21.5 million tonnes in 2008-09, compared with 26.6 million in 2007-08. It estimated the 2008 wheat crop at 10.5 million tonnes, compared with 16.1 million a year earlier. Argentina’s forecast maize crop is 18 million tonnes, compared with 20.9 million a year ago. Barley production is forecast at 1.6 million tonnes in 2008, up from 1.5 million tonnes, while Sorghum production is put at 4.3 million tonnes, compared with 3.5 million in the previous year.
The IGC forecasts total Argentine grain exports at 21.5 million tonnes in 2008-09, down from 26.6 million the year before.
Total wheat exports are put at 7 million tonnes, down from 9.9 million. Maize exports are predicted to fall to 13 million tonnes from 14.7 million, while barley exports are set to rise to 1 million from 800,000 tonnes.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) office in Buenos Aires predicts a 2008-09 soybean crop of 50.5 million tonnes, compared with 46.2 million in 2007-08. The rise is based on an increase in area to 18.2 million hectares, from 16.6 million.
"This increase in area is expected mainly due to an initial drop in planted area for corn and sunfl flowers due to high input costs and low prices, in addition to some replanting of lost wheat, corn, and sunflower area with soybeans due to drought," it said in a report published in December.
According to José Dan iel Peloni, manager of the cooperative Sociedad Agropecuaria de Correa Cooperativa and former president of the grain trade organization Aposgran, the biggest problem facing Argentina’s farmers is government policy. "We have a very high tax on exports," he told World Grain. "This is making it hard for farmers to go on. They are planting less wheat. We have a 23% tax on exports. With that tax, to plant wheat is not profitable."
The result is a sharp reduction in production. "Last year we produced 16 million tonnes of wheat," he said. "This year it will be 9.5 to 10 (million tonnes)."
Government policy would also mean reduced maize production. "The same thing is happening with corn," Peloni said. "There’s now a 20% tax on exports. Farmers are going to plant much less. Last year we produced 22 million tonnes. This year we’re expecting 15 to 16 million."
The tax rates he quoted are after a reduction of five percentage points announced recently, which hasn’t been enough to pacify farmers. According to a report in the Latin American Herald Tribune, they resumed protests against government policy on Dec. 16.
Farmers are likely to turn instead to soybeans. "With (soybeans) there’s a 35% tax on exports," Peloni said. "Soybeans are much more profitable. The other two need much more inputs. All farmers are going to plant much more soybeans," he said.
However, high costs could limit production. "Farmers are not going to use as much fertilizer on the soybean crop, so yields may not be as high," he said.
Argentina’s farm sector is as modern and efficient as any in the world. "Farmers have introduced all the new technology as all the best farmers do," he said. "They are on a level with farmers in the U.S. and Australia."
Peloni was severely critical of government policy. "The government is against farmers," he said. "Farmers receive less and less money for their crops."
The government has effectively closed down wheat and maize exports. "Exports are not open freely," he said.
He explained the effect on Argentina’s wheat balance sheet. "Domestic demand for wheat is six to seven million tonnes," he said. "The rest of the crop is exported, mainly to Brazil, which buys five to seven million tonnes each year."
However, reduced production will cut export availability. "With production this year, exports will be much less," Peloni said. "We will just have two to three million tonnes to export. It won’t be enough for Brazil. We won’t export to the rest of the world."
POLICY PROBLEMS FOR OILSEEDS
Even though farmers are turning to soybean production, the oilseeds sector also has complaints about government policy, according to Alberto Rodríguez, executive director of the Argentine Oil Industry Chamber (CIARA).
"We export 95% of our production," he told World Grain. "We have serious problems. We need to ask for licenses from the government. When the government says OK, we have only 45 days to
load the ships. This is very complicated for us."
The industry is also suffering from a lack of farmer selling. "Farmers are keeping their production," he said. "We think they have stocks of about 12 million tonnes of soybeans on farms. I guess they don’t like the prices."
Export taxes on wheat and corn have been reduced, but it is not enough to make a difference.
According to figures published by CIARA, total soybean crushings came to 3.58 million tonnes in 2007. For 2008, CIARA figures are only available up to September, but Rodríguez believes there has been a sharp dropoff.
"In general, we usually export around seven million tonnes as grain and the rest is crushed in (Argentina)," he explained. "This year, we have exported about eleven million tonnes (so far). I guess it could reach 12 million."
Argentina has used its big soybean crop to become a major producer of biodiesel. In 2008, it will produce more than 10% of the world’s biodiesel, making it the third-largest producer with sales in excess of $1.5 billion, according to Argentinean Renewable Energies Chamber (CAER). There are currently 18 biofuels production facilities in Argentina, a figure that is expected to rise to 30 by the end of 2009.
A recent analysis by the United Kingdom’s Home Grown Cereals Authority (HGCA) found that Argentina was expected to produce around 1.4 million tonnes of biodiesel for the export market by the end of 2008, with the majority derived from soybean oil. "However, this is set to change significantly when a planned mandatory biodiesel admixture of 5% is introduced in 2010, which will take the soya oil consumption well above the current one-million-tonne estimate," the HGCA said.
FLOUR MILLING
Argentina’s Milling Industry Federation (FAIM), which lists 55 member companies, put per capita consumption of wheat flour at 87 kg in 2007, up from 82 kg in 2006 and 85 kg in 2005. Total wheat flour production in 2007 was 4.397 million tonnes, 955,000 tonnes of which were exported. Brazil is by far the biggest export customer for Argentina’s wheat milling industry. In 2006 it took 65.1% of total flour exports.
According to Argentina’s Agriculture, Cattle, Fishing, and Food Secretariat (SAGPyA), there were a total of 136 mills registered at the beginning of 2007. Flour milling is highly concentrated geographically. Of the 5.862 million tonnes of wheat that were milled in 2007, almost half (2.824 million tonnes) were milled in the Buenos Aires province, while 1.269 million were milled in the Cordoba province and 581,000 in the Santa Fe province.
The industry is highly concentrated, with four companies responsible for 42% of the country’s flour output. They are Cargill, Molinos Canuelas, Andres Lagomarsino e Hijos and Jose Minetti y Cia. Of the wheat flour produced in Argentina in 2007, 54% was used in small bakeries, 17% in industrial bakeries, 8% in pasta, 10% in domestic (family) consumption, and 11% for other purposes. WG

Rumors of Leo being in Vietnam in the past and their rice is big. I could see a couple of RBO plants there.

Excerpt>>>
Vietnam has one of the fastest growing economies in the world, but it remains a largely agricultural society, with a farm sector dominated by a big rice crop which makes it the world’s second biggest exporter. In recent times, increased wealth has encouraged some consumption of wheat-based products, and it has built up a large flour milling sector, even though its own wheat production is nil.
Communist-run Vietnam followed China in economic liberalization with the ‘Doi Moi’ (renovation) program which started in 1986. It has two big state food corporations, Vietnam Southern Corporation (Vinafood 2) and Vietnam North- CHINA ern Food Corporation (Vinafood 1), which buy rice and export it.
The International Grains Council (IGC) said Vietnam will produce 23.8 million tonnes of milled rice in 2008-09, compared with 24.4 million the year before. In 2009, it will export 5.1 million tonnes compared with 4.7 million in 2008, according to the IGC’s latest estimates. That makes it the world’s second largest exporter behind Thailand, which is predicted to export 8.9 million tonnes.
More than half of Vietnam’s rice production and 90% of its rice exports come from the Mekong Delta or Cuu Long region, which spreads across 12 provinces with 2.97 million he hectares oof farmland.
According to the news agency Reuters, Vinafood 2, Viietnam’s top rice exporter, announced plans in February to build the largest rice trading market in the Mekong Delta as well as a warehouse network. Citing the Saigon Times as its source, the agency said Vinafood 2 would invest more than 600 billion dong ($35.3 million) to build the market complex in the district of Thot Not outside the city of Can Tho.
A rice trader based in Can Tho told Reuters the new warehouses, some of which could be upgraded from Vinafood 2’s existing facilities, would ensure stable supply for the exporter, the agency said.
According to a report published in March and included in the U.S. attaché’s roundup of news from the country, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has told the two Vinafood companies that they must buy all the rice on offer this year and ensure that farmers earn a profit of at least 30%. He called on them to do everything needed to ensure the position of Vietnamese rice in the international market while ensuring domestic food security.

Brazil/Argentina wheat deal coming?
In the WorldGrain.com article I just posted it stated that Argentina is the world's 2nd largest flour producer. It was rumored that much of NTRZ management was in South America last week. It may have been over the expansion of the Irgovel rice bran oil plant expansion, but when many of the top management goes for a meeting it is usually a new deal and not expansion of an old deal.
See my post on Turkey for the links.

Turkey ranks 4th in flour production.
Wheat production does NOT mean wheat milling. Surprising to me, Turkey who ranks 10th in wheat production ranks 4th in flour production. So, we got another ally of the USA that could be an NTRZ wheat stabilization customer and Turkey needs food and is not a wealthy country like tie USE once was.
From WorldGrain.com
TURKEY RANKS FOURTH IN WORLD IN FLOUR PRODUCTION
KONYA Sept 3
A professor of economics at the Selcuk University said Wednesday Turkey ranked fourth in the world in flour production after Kazakhstan, Argentina and the European Union (EU).
Speaking to the AA, Dr. Birol Akgun said that Turkish exports of flour have increased recently after new connections.
According to the International Grains Council (IGC), the total flour production in the term 2008-2009 is expected to be 10.9 million tonnes, Akgun said.
The most important development in IGC's calculations of flour production is that Turkey has increased its flour production by 400,000 tonnes in the most recent term, Akgun noted.
Turkey's flour exports in 2008-2009 is expected to be 1.7 million tonnes, Akgun said.
Iraq and Indonesia are the most important markets for Turkish exports of flour, Akgun also said.

Patty McPeak answers my challenge.
On August 20th I put up a post to Patty asking her positions>>>
We emailed a couple of times since and that led to a lengthy phone call. She does not feel she should post on the board, but has given me permission to print her reply to me.
Before we got into anything Patty was concerned about my health problems and offered a case history program she has on her site. That showed me that she is a concerned person, and that she really believes in SRB, and that she is a true promoter of what she believes in.
http://www.nanacea.com/Our_Products/Case_History
Now for her points>>>
1. Patty has no intention of taking NTRZ private. She feels that my posts saying "Private at .50" hurts the stock as it scares people away. Patty has two potential BOD members she likes, but that is it. I assume she has given these to Short.--POINT PATTY
2. Patty has not bought or sold shares off inside information. She knows of nobody who has. I should not be saying otherwise without proof. She has never sold short. POINT PATTY
3. Patty has never paid gnus_hound a penny and has not given him and leads. She reminded me of gnus finding the extra $1,000,000 Brad gave to him self. She had no idea Brad had done that. POINT PATTY
4. She still finds it sad Olga has moved on.. I agree, we all liked Olga at the conference call because we knew she was speaking from the heart. I feel Patty was speaking to me from the heart last night also. TIE__No point given
5. I told her what I have said on this message board many times. Brad should not have taken everything away from Patty when she left. All those years developing the company and Zip. I believe Patty should at least be a consultant to Z, maybe not paid like the BOD until profitability. POINT HUNK
6. Patty thinks John Short has done a good job so far, but like me thinks he has to keep proving himself. PATTY FEELS THAT WE SHOULD ALL GET BEHIND SHORT WITH OUR SUPPORT. And she emphasized that point.TIE__NO POINT GIVEN
7. Patty thinks I should continue posting on this message board. She thinks I should be a more positive force in getting behind SHORT. It would be nice if the board was a more positive force for newcomers to see. I agree with the last part, and I agree that I could be more positive myself. POINT PATTY
Total score= Patty 4--Hunk 1--tie 2. Hunk bloodied and kicked to the curb.
Overall a very nice friendly chat. Patty was very respectful to me on the whole call even though I have not always been the same to her on this message board. Patty and I agree on many and most things. Hats off to you Patty.

What I use the site for is when I am bullish as I am not now, I will go through the list 4 times per year and list stocks $.50 to $5 that trade 30,000 or more shares per day. Then I go through that list I make every two weeks and look for charts about to breakout out to form a watch list. I do NOT do commodity related, utility or finance stocks. Too much manipulation in the commodity pits for me to stomach. The first list takes about 8 hours, the watch list much less. The Bulletin Board list is almost a waste of time, ton's of junk. I'd rather get OTC infor daily from BarCharts(left column) to see the movers and look for good charts. You will see many little Chines in there often, but few from Brazil or India. I use BarCharts to get under $5 stocks on the move too. I posted RPTP on Rhino's board today that I got off BarCharts.

This does not say that supplements have no affect elsewhere, but it makes a case for rice bran indirectly since rice bran is a real food. South Louisiana rice farmers report strong yields
by The Times-Picayune
Friday August 21, 2009, 5:51 AM
South Louisiana rice farmers are reporting some of their best yields ever this year as the harvest season winds down.
Yields in excess of 50 barrels - or 8,100 pounds - per acre have been common.
Some problems have developed with disease in isolated fields, and saltwater problems in canals have decreased yields, according to Dr. Steve Linscombe, director of the Louisiana State University AgCenter's Rice Research Station. But Linscombe said those are exceptions.
