And by the way, Henk Hoogankamp is like the "King of Soy" and he has switched over to stabilized rice bran. Henk is a well know independent food researcher, known world wide. He is just a consultant for NTRZ. He does not want a VP job or such because that would hurt his reputation of an independent food researcher.
He has a new book out as well that is like a big ad for NTRZ, his specialty is meat fillers. Soy is used in many meat products and SRB is healthier and 1/2 the price. It is made from the leftovers of the rice bran oil process and called Defatted Bran. Nobody else has it but NTRZ thanks to NTRZ'as patents.>>

I think some sort of potential bankruptcy is a possibility here. I'm not saying it is gonna happen, but I think it is a decision they might have to consider. There's no question there are assets, but I think the liabilities are more serious than alluded and a planned bankruptcy might give them time and options that they don't have now. Just something to seriously consider.
Next he posted just after the shareholders meeting. I had a friend there who heard similar>>>
I was told by people who were at the shareholder meeting themselves that there were peopel there from the Pharma side of the equation. They were told the upside here is beyond tremendous. From what I have learned some of the trials have been done, but BE decided to lavishly furnish a office building instead of paying for the trials. This is money that is owed so we can get the results. I don't know what the exact amount is, but I believe it to be in the six figures. I believe getting this and further info. on this front is a priority on Short's list. I know there is ton of interest in NYC from companies and institutions alike on this front alone.
Some of this has to do with Pharma drugs coming off patent exclusivity. If these companies can tweak their receipe by adding a NTRZ ingredient that changes the formula so to speak they can extend their exclusivity before it goes to generic. This is worth billions to them. I am not a biotech guy so don't quote me on this, but I know enough and I know who is looking. If Ntrz can prove to the world that they can add value on this front it's worth a TON of money to the bottom line. There are many potential applications and avenues to explore within this realm so it should be interesting. I know it is something that BE talked about, but never did anything with. Short,is doing something about it.
Let's hope this guy is right on the second post as well.

Climate change takes its toll on 'miracle rice' -- IRRI
IRRI, LOS BANOS, LAGUNA Oct. 21
Climate change has reduced by 15 percent the yield of the "miracle rice" which helped avert famine in Asia in the 1960s, the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) on Wednesday said.
A study conducted by the Philippine-based institute showed that the yield of the IR8 rice variety, also known as "miracle rice," had dropped to seven tons per hectare from yields of 9.5 tons to 10.5 tons per hectare when it was first introduced.
Before the introduction of the new rice in the 1960s, the average global rice yield per hectare was only around two tons per hectare, the study said.
"Our study eliminated changes in the genetic composition of the IR8 which may have occurred over time, and instead identified changes in the environment as the cause of the decline," said Shaobing Peng, a crop physiologist from the IRRI..
"Hotter nights, which are known to reduce rice yields, and other environmental changes such as modification in soil properties and air pollution are all possible contributing factors," Peng said.
He added that their study underscored the need for further breeding to make future generations of rice plants better able to cope with a changing environment.
"Maintenance breeding needs continuous support to help farmers cope with erratic climate changes around the globe," Peng stressed.
Earlier, IRRI and the Asia Society said that climate change mitigation research, farming infrastructure, and market price stability are all needed to ensure reliable supplies in Asia. All of these could improve rice security in the Asian region and decrease the number of people living in poverty by 15 percent by 2030, it added.
In a related report, the United Nations (UN) panel said agricultural growth remains central to poverty reduction, even as it calls for a ban on endosulfan (fertilizer used treat bacterial infection) to prevent more wastage of rice grain.
The UN panel said there should be judicious combination of manures, fertilizers to ensure food security among Asian countries, adding there should also be a mandatory labeling of GMO products to answer for the rampage by global warming, it said.(PNA)

The POR was approved today. There is an affective date, but that is not given. The Yahoo poster who has access to the court records, gnus_hound says it is probably 15 days until the effective date, but NTRZ will probably put something out.
A last minute change last night is that the Executory agreements with Herbal Science and bright Foods were canceled. Speculation is that these will be reworked and in the filing tonight it says NTRZ has until November to chose to accept any Herbal contracts it wants.
If you want to read it yourself, join the VLTV group board and then look at files and then the October 19th title. The 18th is interesting as well as the lawyer invoices. PepsiCo Unveils Global Plans to Revolutionize Farming
The problem as I see it is that it will use up the topsoil quicker or need mare harmful chemicals and it will use more water.
Oct 19 - PepsiCo today announced plans to roll-out its new i-crop farming technology on a global basis. The web-based tool, which was developed by PepsiCo in conjunction with Cambridge University, United Kingdom, is a crop management system that will enable PepsiCo's farmers around the world to monitor, manage and reduce their water use and carbon emissions, while also maximizing potential yield and quality.
Trials of i-crop are currently underway at 22 farms in the U.K., where PepsiCo yesterday announced ambitious plans to reduce carbon emissions and water usage by 50 percent across the farming of its core crops in the next five years.
The technology will be rolled-out in Europe in 2011* and then to the United States. The company hopes to take it to India, China, Mexico and Australia by 2012.
As one of the world's largest food and beverage businesses, with brands including Quaker, Tropicana, Gatorade, Pepsi-Cola and Frito-Lay, PepsiCo is a major investor in global farming. In 2009, the company announced 15 global goals and commitments to guide its work to protect the Earth's natural resources through innovation and more efficient use of land, energy, water and packaging.
In the U.K., the company is the largest purchaser of British potatoes and one of the largest purchasers of British oats and apples, using 100 percent British produce in Walkers crisps, Copella English Apple juice, Quaker Oats, Oatso Simple and Scott's porage.
Richard Evans, President of PepsiCo U.K. and Ireland said, "Farming is in the DNA of our business - we rely on fresh produce every day. Finding ways to produce more food with less environmental impact is essential to our future." He added, "i-crop has the potential to revolutionize the way we farm, enabling our farmers to save costs and water and carbon consumption, while at the same time improving their yields. I am immensely proud of this innovation which I hope will also benefit PepsiCo farmers around the world."
In its first Sustainable Farming Report published yesterday, PepsiCo U.K. outlined how it is working in partnership with its 350 British farmers to reach its aim of '50 in 5'. Other initiatives announced include trials of new low-carbon fertilizers and plans to replace more than 75 percent of PepsiCo U.K.'s current potato stock with varieties that will significantly improve farmers' yields and decrease wastage by 2015.
Commenting on the PepsiCo U.K. sustainable farming report, Richard Perkins, Senior Commodities Adviser at WWF said, "The food industry is starting to recognize that in order to fully embed sustainability and biodiversity in its business practices, a large part of the focus must be on the agricultural supply chain. In this respect PepsiCo U.K. has taken a leadership role in recognizing that it is, at its heart, an agricultural business. The focus of the business on improving its key environmental impacts, such as greenhouse gas emissions – in the field and on the farm – is most welcome."

Quotes from Henk Hoogenkamp>>>>
This is from a poster at "the other board" named xybrfuture who has posted here>>>
This is preaching to the choir but for the benefit of any newbies, this is from Henk Hoogenkamp's new book and WE know what he's referring to--Z's SRB.
"Food science can certainly be harnessed to accomplish more than merely expand the plethora of choices affluent consumers sort through on every shopping trip to the grocery store. The application of sophisticated ingredient technology can address hunger, malnutrition and the crippling cost of westernized diets across much of the developing world. But that requires scientific skill coupled with social sensitivity, a rare combination inside most of the food labs and R&D plants I’ve ever visited. If food scientists and technologists could increase the availability of nutritious, affordable foods that provide essential protein and calories to the billions of people who daily struggle to obtain adequate sustenance, it would be a monumental achievement, an improvement in human well-being that would resonate worldwide. The road map toward that end is right here in the pages of Lifestyle Foods. The formulations contained herein combine technical precision and commercial scalability."
And form his Formulated Meat article
"The challenge for the vegetable protein industry is finding new and effective ways to get more people consuming vegetable protein-based foods. It requires developing great tasting, affordable foods, while educating the public about vegetable protein’s nutritional and health benefits. Rice bran has emerged as a functional ingredient with great expectations for food, meat formulations and beyond. Now that food engineers have found a way to stabilize rice bran, a plethora of opportunities are emerging to incorporate this functional ingredient to lower costs and utilize many of the intrinsic nutritive values. Especially knowing that some 60% of world populations use rice as their staple food will make manufacturers embrace this new functional alternative. That effort encompasses four key areas: Nutrition, marketing, consumer education and public advocacy. This will be a long-term process that will require that vegetable protein and rice bran suppliers to work together."
NTRZ is a biotech, high tech and "Green" company all in one!
1. The nutraceuticals and pharma NTRZ is developing makes NTRZ stock just as explosive as most biotech companies
2. NTRZ is a high tech company. It produces high tech food. And it makes it from what used to be low grade animal feed. And it recaptures 8% of the rices bulk and 63% of the nutrients.
3. NTRZ is a green company. The carbon footprint of producing stabilized rice bran and defatted bran is far less than the growing of the original food. No new land is needed, no new crops grown and little energy compared to producing 65% more crops. At oil plants it recaptures 80% of what was waste with little extra energy and production space and little additional labor. And very little energy to convert the SRB. Thus NTRZ is a "Green" company.
NTRZ should start moving after Tuesday's UCC approval set for 10 AM Phoenix time or 1PM Eastern. It been a long wait, but I think NTRZ will be worth the wait. I hope I am right. I have been wrong about NTRZ for 3 years now.

For those of you who don't know. Henk was the king of Soy and wrote books about soy. He bumped into NTRZ at a food show and former VP Kody Newland gave him some SRB to test. Rice May Surge 30% as U.S. Crop Misses USDA Forecast
Oct. 12 (Bloomberg) -- The rice harvest in the U.S., the world’s fourth-largest exporter last year, may be at least 10 percent smaller than estimated, missing a forecast record output and pushing prices 30 percent higher, a producers’ group said. Futures advanced, erasing an earlier loss.
Rough-rice futures in Chicago may surge to $16 to $17 per 100 pounds by January after hot weather in producing areas of the U.S. curbed yields and lowered milling rates, said Dwight A. Roberts, president of the U.S. Rice Producers Association, who correctly predicted the grain would peak at $16 last year.
Smaller production in the U.S. may limit supplies available to importers, after recent flooding slashed harvests in Pakistan, the world’s third-largest shipper last year. Rice has rallied 37 percent from this year’s low of $9.55 per 100 pounds on June 30.
“We’ve just begun to rally,” Milo Hamilton, president of rice market advisory service Firstgrain.com, said at a Singapore conference yesterday. “What you have out there is a crop that’s in trouble,” he said, referring to the U.S. harvest.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture lowered its estimate for this year’s national rice paddy production by 5 percent to 11 million metric tons and forecast that average yield per acre would drop to the lowest since the 2005-2006 season.
The Food & Agriculture Organization of the United Nations pared its estimate for global rice production on Sept. 1 for the second time since April as lower water levels in the Mekong River cut yields in Thailand and Vietnam, the world’s two biggest exporters, and flooding cut the harvest in Pakistan.
‘Wrong’ Rains
Hot weather in July and August hurt the U.S. crop and may lower the amount of milled rice produced from every 100 tons of rough rice to 50 tons, from the usual 65 tons, Roberts said in an interview yesterday.
“We had a lot of rains at the wrong time,” Joe Crane, who grows about 1,000 acres (405 hectares) of rice in Texas, said in an interview in Singapore today. “It caused a lot of blanks because of the pollination problems. We also had extremely high nighttime temperatures up in the central part of the U.S.,” further lowering yields, he said.
Rough-rice for November delivery gained 0.4 percent to $13.05 per 100 pounds on the Chicago Board of Trade at 3:16 p.m. Singapore time, erasing an earlier loss of 0.4 percent.
“We’ve never had a year where we started out thinking we’re going to have a record crop and then over the last three weeks, everything has changed because of field yields and milling yield problems,” Roberts said. “The milling-yield problem has yet to figure into the USDA data.”
‘Serious Problem’
The average yield in the U.S. will be 6,687 pounds (3,033 kilos) per acre, 360 pounds less than last month’s estimate, the USDA said last week. The department raised its average cash price forecast by $1.80, to as much as $13.10 per 100 pounds.
“The USDA doesn’t drastically revise its yield forecast and price forecast,” Roberts said. “That’s a sign that there’s a serious problem.”
Prices need to be $13 per 100 pounds for farmers to meet production costs, Hamilton said.
Farmers may switch from rice to planting wheat and soybeans if prices fall below that break-even level, Roberts said.
Wheat futures have surged 67 percent from this year’s low on June 9, while soybeans have rallied 31 percent from this year’s low on the same date.

India's food inflation is 16.44%
From World Grain.com>>
NEW DELHI Oct 1
India's food inflation increased to 16.44 per cent in the week ended September 18 as the cost of cereals, fruits, select vegetables and milk rose on account of supply disruptions due to heavy rains and floods.
Week-on-week, food inflation climbed 0.98 percentage points from 15.46 per cent in the week ended September 11.
This was the fifth consecutive week in which the rate of food prices has risen, after a spell of moderation in July and the first half of August.
An unusually heavy spell of late monsoon showers had resulted in severe flooding across many states, including Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan, resulting in disruption of supplies.
On an annual basis, cereals prices rose by 6.11 per cent, driven mainly by higher prices of pulses, rice and wheat.
While prices of pulses rose 5.94 per cent on a yearly basis, wheat and rice became costlier by 9.14 per cent and 4.05 per cent, respectively.
Among other food items, milk prices soared by 24.32 per cent during the week compared to the same period last year, while fruit rates rose by 15.13 per cent.
Vegetables also became dearer by 5.87 per cent on an annual basis. Onion prices went up by 1.39 per cent year-on-year, but potato prices declined by 50.48 per cent, continuing the trend of the last few months.

Class Action Lawsuit approved.

A case for making a profit right now.
A poster at yahoo has access to court filings and NTRZ must give them monthly profit figures for the part of the company in BK. Brazil is not part of it. The figuers were>>
Revenue - $982,108
GOGS - $655,740
OpEx - $843,408
Net loss - $530,619
Then another poster who I trust posted that the latest info, that I believe is 08 Brazil figures NTRZ did $368,000 profit per month. That leaves NTRZ short $162,612. But that figure includes BL lawyers figures.
I then posted the following>>>
That is an old figure from Brazil. If Z really needs to expand it because of demand and it's 70,000 ton capacity is all being sold, revenues could be
Oil at 1450 per ton(20% of 70,000) $20,300,000 in revenue.
DOB at $450 per ton(80% of 70,000) $25,200,000
Total revenue $45,500,000. I do know if I want to hunt what Brazil in the latest reported figures, but I would not be surprised to see it half of that. With a lot of fixed expenses in your 368K per month, that bottom line could now easily be $736K per month with sales of $3,412,500 per month using 90% of my figures.
Even using the loss figure gnus posted at $530,619 less my potential figure of $736,000 profit from Brazil gets us a positive profit of $205,381. And that is with the lawyer theft thrown in that we won't have exiting BK.
If Brazil is not near capacity there was never a need to expand. Time will tell if Brad to us one true fact. But Malty, if my figure and yours are averaged, we are cash flow positive again, with the lawyer crap throw in. I am optimistic. I think we know more in a month.
I might add that I have heard more than one rumor that Brazil is doing very well.

And remember his food tamper proof ETF, RJA. I feel RJA is in a bit of a correction. Maybe a good buying opportunity ahead. Some say the Russian wheat crisis was maybe a bit over done.

bikeguy--Hope you can make the courthouse tomorrow. If not, we will find out soon enough. I think the market is closed when it's over anyway.
EOM
Rhino I almost hate to mention NTRZQ, but two key things happen soon. First the Class Action Lawsuit gets approved tomorrow(hopefully). I think it is at 1 PM Pacific time, so market closes first. I could be wrong on the time.
Then on October 19th, the Creditors and Z go before a judge to get the Plan of Reorganization approved. Both could be nice, but the UCC the 19th should be the biggie. NTRZ got a nice pop two weeks ago off the following PR>>
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/NutraCea-Announces-Sale-of-prnews-594817578.html?x=0&.v=1
That all but says they are cash flow positive to not need the Wells Fargo money, and the CEO reiterates that the emergence from BK will be successful. In the Plan of Reorganization it says shareholders will not lose their shares.

NTRZ is a "Green" company that China wants?
Making nutritious food out of what used to be low grade animal feed with no new land needed, no new crops needed, and little energy to transform the product is "Green" in my book. And China is interested in "Green" companies>>>

OT---Thailand missionary
I sat next to a gal for breakfast this morning who has been a missionary in Thailand for 5 years. Her husband is a missionary as well but was not with her. He was born there as an American, but speaks the language well.
One of my concerns about the future of NTRZ is that if the "In" thing to do became eating brown rice world wide, there would be little milling and little bran. She said they eat white rice for all three meals most of the time and got to have white rice. They eat the rice in different ways each meal. breakfast is like rice soup, for example. She says no chance of them changing to brown rice because it is so ingrained in their culture and they change very slowly. And they are not into health food like many Americans currently are. The basic families do not use rice bran oil, but it perked her attention when I mention how Z can increase their food supply by just using the current bran. They do eat meat and the meat filler sounded interesting to her, but they don't eat as much meat as we do. A good job there pays about $4,500 to $5,000 per year, so not a whole lot of money for more expensive meat. Rent is much cheaper etc. however.
I just wanted to share what I heard as it applied a little bit to NTRZ.
Poo Poo my licensing thought.
I discussed this thought with a friend who does not read or post this board. He had a good point. There was no reason to hire someone as high powered as Garner if Z was to license everything. I agree and lean toward licensing of the Herbal Science end only. Then maybe a big general partner like JBS is for Pilgrims Pride. What ever is going to happen, the UCC is not a bit worried about their money.

Product list--very impressive>>
http://www.chembuyersguide.com/partners/premium.html
Garners company supplied ingredients to 1/2 of the biggest 100 food companies. He was not brought in to sell licensing, he was brought in to sell ingredients.
A subtle hint for licensing??? China under construction???
This might me a stretch but I notice that Jerry Eggenberger not long ago had the term "Private labeling" under his job description and it is now gone.>>>
http://www.nutracea.com/ContactNutraCea
Now, one reason for that could be that Short is going to all licensing, not just nutraceuticals and pharma, if indeed that will even happen. If you license, the licensee is in charge of the labeling, whether it be their own name or private labeling.
And, if licensing is the way Short spreads NTRZ's magic, then the 500,000 ton oil plant in China could be under construction and almost completed. It might be a quick install of Z's equipment once a plant is about completed. And Z could have 2011 revenue from it soon after BK???
This also ties into my thought that Z's online store is having great sale prices on it's bran and oil and RiceProFlex to clean out the old labels to make way for licensed herbal Science or such products.
http://www.nutracea.com/NutraCeaOnlineStore
This is all just guess work based on Jerry Eggenbergers job description change and proof that I can still be a dreamer :)))
