Lurker, I could be wrong, but it is my belief that current LWLG shareholders might see a much greater ROI if the company remains as a "Stand Alone" for as long as possible. Lightwave has more verticals to pursue. We might see a tremendous gain if Lightwave were to sell out soon, but I feel the ROI gain for current holders could be much greater if Lightwave holds out until they have the other "Potential" verticals moving into commercialization. There are NO guarantees.
If Lightwave were to sell out too early, I think our ROI would be compromised as investors. Sure, we'd get shares of the buying entity in the deal, but the pps growth of the new asset owner are probably unlikely to increase at the same % as Lightwave as a "Stand Alone" IMHO.
We'll see. This is all speculation until Lightwave demonstrates "Market Acceptance" IMHO.
I don't want to see a takeover until the datacenters and telecom industry have been saturated, AND Lightwave is commercializing other vertical applications. I'm thinking about automotive, Lidar, medical devices, space and military applications. Selling out too soon would leave a LOT of change on the table IMHO.
Matt, in my mind, the people that Lightwave hires are weighing whether the want to stay where they are, or move to Lightwave. Job applications work in BOTH directions. It is pretty evident that Lightwave is trying to get the "Best of the Best". It is equally important to note that Lightwave's new hires bring something to the table. "I Have Become Comfortably Numb.".... Now where did I put that glass? LOL!
Nice find Matt!
If I'm not mistaken, Keysight is the 3rd party testing lab that demonstrated "New World Records" for Lightwave. It is my understanding that Keysight couldn't accurately measure the data transfer speed until they upgraded their own testing equipment with Perkinamine. It is obvious that Andrew Wylde was working at Keysight when that record breaking milestone was accomplished.
Lightwave doesn't seem to hire rookies.
According to LinkedIn, "Associated Members" at Lightwave went from 42 to 43 as of yesterday. I can't tell who the new hire is. I've been watching for a Senior Accountant to pop up on LinkedIn because I'm certain the job has been filled. I also noticed that the Senior Purchasing Agent position has been removed from Lightwave's website. I'm sure that position has been filled as well.
Hiring a pencil pusher to manage payroll, payables and receivables, and hiring someone to ensure they don't run out of pencils is a good thing. The company continues to posture for the growth on the horizon....
Not all of the "People" listed on LinkedIn are actually staff, but I'm guessing the current staff head count is probably around 34-36 people now.

Killer, I completely agree with your comment. I think Lightwave is far enough along in development that any government subsidy would be more of a windfall than a need. Government programs can be a long drawn-out distraction if there isn't a real need for the funds. With the recent lab expansion, I'd imagine Lightwave probably has all the space and equipment they need to provide the industry with the Perk. Seed money for R&D related to Lidar and other verticals wouldn't hurt though...
Dunno about that Killer. Lightwave is part of the NIST Collaboration and NIST is directly involved in the CHIPS Act. NIST knows what Lightwave is working on.
The first tranche of Chips funding goes to the foundries, but the 2nd and 3rd goes to R&D and Materials Suppliers if I recall correctly.
IF Lightwave were to pursue Chips funds, I'm sure the funds would be awarded. The greater question in my mind, is whether Lebby has any interest or need for the funds. It is pretty evident that on the R&D side of things, companies Lightwave is working with have been dedicating their own money and time towards R&D with the Perk.
We'll see...
Farmsara, My thought is that customers are probably satisfied with the product offering, but the Attorneys are playing tennis with the details of the contract(s).
IMHO, once a potential customer is satisfied with the product, the Attorneys start working on dissecting and revising the terms of a contract for each of their respective parties. Revisions go back and forth in the negotiation process. I'm ignorant when it comes to the corporate semiconductor industry, but I know for a fact, 1st hand that this is how it works in Commercial Real Estate.
I could be wrong, but I believe the product is ready to go, short of dotting the "I"s and crossing the "T"s on the actual contracts. I'd rather Lightwave take their time negotiating contract terms, than screw things up in haste. In my mind, this is why Attorneys make the big bucks.
Elyob71, It appears you are new to the neighborhood with a Born on Date of 11/29/2023 and this is your 6th post. If you are a Long who is new to the forum, Welcome!
This forum is full of Master Baiters, but the Iggy feature helps filter it down to posts you want to read.
If you are a short, I recommend you do your homework and watch Lightwave VERY closely. I don't know when, but I strongly believe that the company will be dropping big news in the 1st quarter or 1st half of 2024.
I've had the Iggy thing turned off for a few days. It is amazing how quickly it cleans up this forum when I turn it back on. 🤣🤣🤣
2024, the "Ramp to Commercialization" begins tomorrow. Anyone care to guess how many new contracts we'll have by the ASM?
I'm guessing at least 3.
yobuck, provide me a link to that comment. I've NEVER said LWLG was my smallest holding, even when it WAS. Crawl back under your bridge Troll...
Some of you already know this from my past comments.
I discovered Lightwave purely by accident. In 2021, I was researching a now past CEO of another stock I held, Thomas P. Smith. He was CEO of WRAP. I discovered Tom sat on the BOD of Lightwave around 2011, so I took a closer look at Lightwave and discovered that it was an OTC stock trading around $10, so I dug a bit deeper. I also saw that Tom stepped down from the BOD and his father Phillip replaced him for a while at Lightwave back in the day.
I continued to research Lightwave, because I was intrigued by why an OTC stock was trading in the $10 range. Further DD convinced me to dabble in investing in LWLG, because I grasped the concept. I didn't see the "Organic Up-Listing" to NASDAQ on the horizon. I liquidated my position in WRAP in 2022 and invested what was left of that holding into LWLG.
I still believe WRAP has potential, but I think LWLG will get there greater and faster.....
Lightwave was an accidental discovery, but I suspect it might turn into the best investment I've ever made. The company has achieved a lot of major milestones over the past couple of years and I trust Lebby to protect the Company, Shareholders and his own Reputation.
Scope, regarding the numbers, I've seen prognostication all over the spectrum. $50 will make me pretty happy when it materializes. $100 will make me VERY happy if we reach that milestone before I'm ready to retire. If it hits $1000 before I'm ready to reduce/liquidate, I'll likely need to keep Depends on my shopping list, because I'll be wetting my pants LOL! As long as we're in the $100+ range in the next 5 years, I'll be satisfied, but I THINK the potential is MUCH greater. We'll see....
I just turned 62 ,so I'm keeping an eye on my expiration date. I plan to enjoy some of the ROI before my heirs get it LOL! I know a number of our fellow investors are already in their 70's and 80's and they too hope to be rewarded for their patience. Every one of us has different goals. Lightwave just might be one of those "Generational Wealth" stocks for many....
Scope, I'm one of the longs who arrived late to this party, but I have no complaints. Lightwave was trading around $10 as an OTC Stock when I discovered it, which made me take a closer look. I bought my first shares around 7/12/2021 and bought more on the way to $20 and more on the way down. I was surprised by the organic NASDAQ up-listing.
I should have taken some profit when we were in the $15-$20 range but didn't. Nobody to blame but myself on that error. I'm still pretty upside down on my cost basis, but not concerned. I can't afford to average down further at the moment, but I did sell a mining stock last week to buy more LWLG.
I anticipate that 2024 will be the beginning of noticeable revenues and 2025 will probably show signs of actual profits. While I might finally start trading in and out of Lightwave in 2024, my goal is to increase my position until 2027 or 2028 when I plan to start reducing my position for retirement.
I respect the penny longs who have held this stock for so many years and applaud those who have increased their positions during the peaks and valleys.
I'm confident that Dr. Lebby WILL deliver the goods.
Dang X, was that a prediction or a wish? LOL! 2024 is almost here....
vein, maybe we'll get something next year. The good news is that the first trading day of next year is next Tuesday. 8^)
Happy New Year! 2024 is almost here!
Wow! I'm seeing 117,000 shares on the ask at $5.58 in Level II right now....
On December 1st, we hit an intraday low of $3.79. The 30 day chart seems to be shaping up after the tax selling.
I'm just guessing, but the notion of "saving ninety percent on electric bills " is a HUGE stretch. If I'm not mistaken, the 90% energy savings is at the modulator level ONLY. It is my belief that additional, incalculable energy savings will be achieved due to lack of a heat-generating driver and perhaps cooling fans. Further energy savings are likely from reduced HVAC use. I've seen some guesstimations of an overall energy reduction of between 5-10% for a datacenter, but this is just a guesstimation. That said though, a 5-10% reduction in overall energy consumption is significant when one considers just how much energy they consume. I could be wrong in my thoughts here, and encourage anyone with a better handle on the topic to chime in...
vein, I'd speculate that if Dr. Lebby delivers on the couple of contracts he's negotiating, we'll be back in the two digit range before the ASM. His communication was kinda vague when he suggested commercial deals, without specifying whether they are licensing agreements or tech-transfer agreements. One of each, with different entities would suit me fine. He left the back door open when he suggested he hopes to get them signed before the year is out. I doubt ANYTHING is happening over the next week because many businesses are operating on "Skeleton Crews" this time of year. I'm guessing we may get good news in the next 60 days personally. Lebby has a remarkable reputation to uphold and I trust him.
I'm no techie and I don't know of any connection to LWLG. The article you mention is dated 8/10/2022.
"DARPA Kicks Off Program to Develop Low-Earth Orbit Satellite ‘Translator’"
https://www.darpa.mil/news-events/2022-08-10
IF there is any connection, I'd guess it would be an indirect connection to the NIST Collaboration, as some of the parties in the collaboration have connections to space and defense. This article is dated 11/17/2022, but I doubt there is a connection:
"NIST's On-Chip Calibration Methods Advance Semiconductor Research"
https://www.nist.gov/news-events/news/2022/11/nists-chip-calibration-methods-advance-semiconductor-research
"Through participation in the above DARPA projects ( and others, including MMIC, Terahertz Electronics, ELASTx, DAHI and CHIPS) and other collaborations, CTL has developed measurements that characterize and model, at millimeter wave frequencies, leading-edge integrated microelectronic components, interconnects used in 3D heterogeneous integration, and advanced materials. Each project worked with industrial stakeholders including Northrop Grumman, Teledyne, Hughes Research Labs, Raytheon, IBM, Intel, AIM Photonics, Lightwave Logic, Corning, Broadpak, and Cadence. The stakeholder's applications include 5G/6G communications, biomedicine, optical communications, radio astronomy, radar, and space communications. "
Vein, Stocks go up and stocks go down. In absence of a Catalyst, we seem to be doing okay. We are DEFINITELY doing better than we were at the beginning of December. Also important to note, is that all of the major indexes took a hit today....
Rkf, Given the recent run, some retraction was an easy guess in absence of a catalyst. I'm not concerned about my underwater shares though. I'm convinced news is coming. I DO hope that we close above the 200 DMA a few times before news does hit though. I'm also still hoping that Lightwave drops a BIG CONTRACT PR on Friday at the closing bell, but I do NOT expect that to happen LOL! I can wait..
On a side-note, look at where we were on 12/1......
Dan, I'm not here to pump or bash. I'm here to understand why I've exposed so much of my hard earned money to this investment. I can see through the pumping and bashing. The semiconductor industry is alien to me, but I FULLY grasp the concept of what Lightwave is doing. I continue to believe Lightwave is going to deliver. If they don't, I've made a huge mistake, but I sleep well at night...
Treebaum, At first, I felt you were getting an unwarranted chilly welcome, but if you refuse to read the Shareholders Update letter or watch the recent video attached to that letter, I get the impression you are NOT a sincere Long. I was giving you the benefit of doubt until your recent post. If you aren't motivated to do your own DD, you may as well toss your money out of the car like Jesse Pinkman did in Breaking Bad.
Fellow investors were wary of me when I first arrived, but I've been here for over 2-1/2 years now. Most of the crowd has warmed up to me.
Paullee, this is another site I look at once in a while. It provides a little more information, including cost basis, etc. if you poke around a bit:
https://whalewisdom.com/stock/lwlg
We closed right at the 200 DMA today. If it holds, I guess it MIGHT be the new bottom. I find the fact that we hit a 52 week low of $3.78 on December 1st encouraging. Look where we are now. I don't expect anything, but contract news at the closing bell on Friday would make my Christmas and phuck it up for the shorts... 8^) After today's run, I also FULLY anticipate heavy downward pressure tomorrow... IMHO, I think that institutions are continuing to accumulate. I fully believe that SIGNIFICANT contract news will screw the shorts.
The Senior Accountant position has been removed from LinkedIn after around 3 weeks. There were 7 applicants so far when I looked at it yesterday. I assume the position has been filled.
The company website is still showing an opening for the Accounting position, as well as a Senior Purchasing Agent. I think Lightwave maintains job openings on LinkedIn more diligently than they do on the company website.
https://www.lightwavelogic.com/contact-us/careers/
All I want for Christmas is a contract announcement at the Closing Bell on Friday, 12/22/2023. That would make my Christmas and give the shorts something to worry about over the holiday. 8^) I don't expect this dream to happen, but I promise to leave tacos and tequila out for Santa on Christmas Eve. That's gotta be better enticement than milk and cookies LOL!! i see light at the end of the tunnel and it isn't an oncoming train....I DO wish the company would get away from dropping news on Tuesday mornings. They should mix it up a bit. Mid-day and at the closing bell, that sort of thing IMHO. Most of the news drops seem to be predictable, giving shorts and day traders an advantage IMHO.....
Jeeze! I'm using the iggy feature here but can't escape the FUD. Do Santa's Elves make any kind of horse head themed bed linen? I'd like to place an order, but don't have any idea where Santa needs to drop it off. LOL! Maybe I should just order some baked Crow and ask Santa to wait two months before delivering it...
If we can break and hold above the $5.60 200 DMA, it would be a great way to end the week... Then if Lightwave can drop a contract announcement at the END of the trading day on the 22nd.... 8^) That would make our Christmas and screw it up for the shorts.
A guy can DREAM can't he? LOL!
Holy Crap! Look at the volume at the open!
I believe this is the first sign of publicly visible marketing to the industry by a Lightwave partner. I look forward to seeing a few BIG companies start offering Perk products.

The PIC International show takes place in April, so it is still months away. It is evident that SilOrix will be talking about a Perk powered product. Will Global Foundries? Maybe Keysight could share with the industry the fact that they couldn't test the higher ranges of Lightwave's modulators accurately until they upgraded their testing equipment with perkinamine.
2024 is going to be interesting. This is the presenter list for PIC International. Lightwave isn't on the list, but it might just be because they haven't registered yet.

***BULLISH***
Steven, you seem to have latched onto the "Plethora" sound bite without reading the post in it's full context. Do you believe in Lightwave? If so, roll the DICE! If you lack confidence in LWLG, I see that POET is having a Christmas Sale.
"Nevertheless, the long-term stability of the organic devices could not yet fully be demonstrated. With new material concepts, encapsulation methods and process flows, SilOriX is now paving the way to long-term stable and high-efficient electro-optic SOH-modulators."
If I'm not mistaken, Lightwave has already demonstrated "Stability" and the testing is an ongoing process. I'm not aware of any competitor who has demonstrated better performance. Are YOU?
This SilOrix presentation next year sounds like it has a Lightwave connection to me, but I'm not a techie... I'm just guessing that the reference to ink-jet printing or micro dispensing is a veiled reference to ALD. Dunno...

🎤 Silicon-organic hybrid electro-optic modulators for next generation optical interconnects
Combining silicon photonics and electro-optic polymers has led to a substantial improvement of silicon-based modulators, especially in terms of energy efficiency, device footprint and modulation speed. By utilizing solution processes like inkjet-printing or micro dispensing, those organic materials are intrinsically scalable and can be moreover processed completely back-end-of-line. In the last years a plethora of high-speed modulators with drive voltages below 1 V have been realized with this hybrid approach. Nevertheless, the long-term stability of the organic devices could not yet fully be demonstrated. With new material concepts, encapsulation methods and process flows, SilOriX is now paving the way to long-term stable and high-efficient electro-optic SOH-modulators. "

proto, I'm following the interest rate topic closely. Not just because of the stock market and LWLG, but because I sell real estate. Easing of interest rates will stimulate both the stock market and real estate. I find it interesting that the Fed wants to see unemployment rise before easing rates, while unemployed and underemployed people are experiencing accumulating debt on their borrowed money.... Whatever.... I believe the tide is about to shift.
proto, we'll see. I remain VERY optimistic in this investment, but we ALL know how volatile LWLG can be. With the right catalysts, the short problem will take care of itself. Patiently waiting... The ramp to commercialization appears to be on the horizon, but I fully anticipate holding and accumulating in the coming years. If this works out, 2024 will just be the BEGINNING of why I'm here...
