We try to redirect conversations there periodically.
Have you tried clearing your cache? Maybe logging out and back in? Those both seem to be quick fix options that work fairly reliably.
It works alright for me.
And your recourse is to report it or ignore it. Participate at your own risk.
Attention VPLM Board Posters: It is indisputable that many of you took the relaxed site guidelines as an invitation to completely abandon the topic of the board altogether in favor of a muckraking tournament. Consider this your realignment. Those of you who cannot find your way back to the topic and away from the smear campaigns of each other can expect to find your posting limited.
If you need help figuring out what kind of content we expect with the new site guidelines, I’ve linked that information here.
As always, any response to this post will be considered off topic.
Everyone has the same rules, as always.
Attention DBMM Board Posters: It is unequivocal that many of you took the relaxed site guidelines as an invitation to completely abandon the topic of the board in favor of a mud-slinging competition. Consider this your re-alignment. Those of you who cannot find your way back to the topic and away from the smear campaigns of each other can expect to find your posting limited.

So safe to say you don’t like the heart. There was a good number of posts on this board that didn’t like the thumbs up, either. Duly noted. No need to re-emphasize.
Oh, the dad jokes abound…
On the contrary. Per the new guidelines:
Choose civility. People are here to learn and to share their own views. If you are here for the purpose of abusing and disrespecting other commentators, your participation is merely disruption and of no benefit.
Debate the message rather than attacking the messenger. Yes, you can be critical of other Users and their opinions but avoid vulgar name calling. You will be much more respected and followed if you contribute substantive commentary about the investment being discussed.
That video makes me feel so old! That’s a good one for the Idle Ramblings board.
I love that!
I think it would be a bit hypocritical of us to ask our posters to practice civility and use decorum when posting if we didn’t also employ those techniques ourselves.
Since iHub is not a popularity contest or a democracy, it sounds like the best option in that situation would be for everyone involved to place the ones they don’t like on ignore. That way, they won’t see what they don’t want to see and won’t be inclined to argue with anyone they think they simply can’t get along with.
There is a wonderful thing we’ve provided called “The Ignore Function.” It takes those pesky posters you don’t like right out of your feed and you’ll never have to see their posts again. It’s like magic! You should try it.
“Having shares” has never been a requirement of this site. One does not have to play baseball to be knowledgeable about it and have a healthy interest.
Ah, yes, because 16 minutes makes all the difference. Thanks.
Whee! 🥳🪅??🙈🙉🙊
😝🐣🆘🏁
The new rules have been a topic of discussion for about three weeks on this board, several years behind the scenes. They went into effect Saturday.
How about the bickering amongst posters stop as was posted Saturday?
We get it. You don’t like the changes. How does that change the fact that no one can please everyone?
It might taste great. I’m very particular about textures, though.
Good possibility.
So what? There are an alarming number of people in every aspect of life who are absolutely confident they are right and flatly refuse to hear anything else. Contrarily, there are a similar number of people who are convinced they approach everything incorrectly and also refuse to acknowledge any statement otherwise. Then everyone in between who has their own opinions of not only themselves, but the other groups of people. The point being, whomever some think is smart, others think are not, and vice versa.
We could ask 100 people and get 100 different answers. Still, someone would be mad about who got tapped. Hence why someone’s position in a company has no bearing on being moderator. They are there to enforce the site rules, not dictate the conversation.
Some people do actually get a kick out of discussing financial information without actually making any money for it. It’s not dissimilar to people hanging out discussing literally anything else that interests them without financial gain. People enjoy talking about their interests.
Who decides who are the “smart ones with superior thoughts and intentions?” Regardless of who anyone picks, someone is going to disagree.
Add some chunks of grilled ham or crumbled bacon or sausage, maybe a little bit of butter, and that’s a darn good breakfast.
That sounds….. Unpleasant. Simply from a texture standpoint.
Moderators are capable of deleting posts on all boards.
The last time I looked at one was probably 6 months ago or better, debating on getting a second one, and my local Walmart had them for about $126, if I remember correctly.
Instant Pots are pretty pricy on the average college student’s budget, I would think. Absolutely worth the money, but most college kids stateside are operating on a relatively small budget. $130 for an Instant Pot or $30 for a coffee pot..
Those dorm room college kids get pretty creative with coffee pots, I understand. I’ve seen hot dogs, ramen, various types of fish, and a variety of other things “cooked” in a coffee pot.
I shudder to think what anything other than the ramen would taste like. Never mind the coffee made the next morning. :shudder:
An ignore feature in real life would be amazing.
Is there really any other way to eat a grilled cheese?
Good evening, XALL board! It has become glaringly apparent that a reminder is needed that here that this board does not care about your political opinion. There are a good number of political boards that would love to hear you wax poetic about the state of affairs in politics or the state of the country to your heart’s content and you are welcome to utilize them as you wish. However, when you are on this board your opinions about politics, other posters, the site and it’s rules, or other unrelated tickers are irrelevant, off topic, and do not belong here. Posters finding themselves unable to refrain from posting about topics other than XALL on the XALL board may be sanctioned. Please find the topic and get back on it.
As always, replies to this post will also be off topic and removed as such.
There is certainly going to be a learning curve for all of us, but we are definitely not trying to make anyone obsolete.
I think, essentially, what we’re going for for is maintaining civil discourse while not completely squashing the occasional heat of natural human interaction.
Context is definitely going to be a contributing factor as to whether or not such statements will or won’t violate the TOS.
