But this presumes they are not able to secure funding and they are not generating positive cash flow. Neither is dependent on the exchange traded PPS daily.
That was my point.
Even businesses which are privately held, are able, according to their cash generation capabilities, business structure, etc. are able to acquire loans and lines of credit, albiet at not the best terms at prime.
A silly question but...
why is GTE not on this list?
http://www.amex.com/atamex/regulation/pendingdelistingstatus/index.jsp
two days away from going to the Pink Sheets or OTC:BB and yet AMEX does not update its site to reflect this? What is this???
Agreed....but we do know they recently received an infusion of cash from Notes, and we also are not yet aware of the cash generation of the various divisions; presumably cash flow positive, if not already generating net profits per the March BOD plan....although I will wait to see it in the next 10Q
I agree with you on this one. Management needs to step up and demonstrate support and commitment to the goals outlined in March. I think your proposal makes sense and would show leadership.
Are they holding their member firms accountable to their REG SHO requirements and rulings?
http://www.amex.com/amextrader/tradingData/data/RegSHO/daily/AMEXth20061006.txt
they required all their member firms to be compliant by the end of July. Have they enforced it? NO
Wrong....try again. Go back to your accounting books. So according to your reasoning any company which is not trading on an exchange, without a PPS, is bankrupt?
duke...When did I blame anyone for anything?
Bankruptcy has no relationship to current trading PPS on an exchange. Try taking accounting 101 and read the Financial statements and do a proforma over the last 12 quarters.
duke why do you even care?
Actually my Level 2 and trade screen shows the last two trades at .28 each at 100 shares
Those are OTC:BB issues
I am not so sure.....there are accounting & SEC rules that even the AMEX needs to follow.
But we shall soon see.
Question (rhetorical) for the Board
- The Reg SHO list is still showing GTE:
http://www.amex.com/amextrader/tradingData/data/RegSHO/daily/AMEXth20061006.txt
- Trade settlement is T+3
- Not possible to SHORT (nor hold a SHORT position) in a stock on the Pink Sheets
- Monday is a bank holiday and is not considered in the T+3 settlement day count
How do those who are SHORT cover before this stock goes .PK (for whatever period of time) prior to this stock being listed again on OTC:BB?
For a supposedly "good Christian" you sure do not practice and live your values do you?
The stock price of a company hardly demonstrates viability of a business as a going concern. Now it all depends on business development, sales, marketing, superb execution on projects and initiatives....hmmm, wait a minute....has it not always been just about that? As I have said...only what is reported in the 10Qs is what counts in my books.
Well, I would agree with your sentiment. I never did think very much regarding GTE's chances remaining on the AMEX (at best 50/50) but this will definitely put a dent into Huff's plan of "significantly increasing shareholder value" by the end of the year.
It would have to be "the mother of all rallys" to bring this puppy back to pre-AMEX levels.
Really??? Now why would I not post?
Okay so there was never more than a 50/50 chance of us remaining on the AMEX, and quite frankly, as I have said in prior posts, it would be better for us to go back to the OTC:BB. This has no impact on day-to-day business operations.
The business plan will move forward. We have a stellar BOD and Audit Committee and the grapes will fall where they will.
It simply just does not pay (for me anyway) to sell off (I hold 60,000 shares right now) as I bought into the strategy, business plan, and talent brought on board and I will see this to the end.
Shorts (naked and otherwise) would be required to cover...hence the spike in PPS
GTE is still on Regulation SHO List for 10/5

GTE Still Appears on Regulation SHO Naked SHORT List
http://www.amex.com/amextrader/tradingData/data/RegSHO/daily/AMEXth20061004.txt
This is interesting now isn't it...especially given that GTE appeared on this list just prior to the AMEX appeals meeting and still appears here.
Interesting on a few counts:
"GTE has deployed networks in Germany and the US. They have completed pilot installations in Shenzhen
China , and other cities around the Globe. In addition, new pilot installations are starting in some of the major
cities around the Globe and deployment of a network is in discussion in the Guangdong Province of China,
where the population is 80 million people . Globetel along with an ISP have deplaoyed VoIP phone service in
Brazil. www.vozBrazil.com."
on page 37.
Good news but....
My silly rant: ...can they not use Spell Check available on MS WORD? what is "deplaoyed"? I "beat up on" my own team members when they do that...I actually review all deliverables on my own projects, before they are reviewed by our clients, because I cannot trust these new college grads to use the nice automated tools available (like Spell check and Grammar check) in most document processing programs.
What on earth are they teaching these kids in college these days?!!! Go back to basics.
GTE just needs to order its NOBO list and do an accounting with the Transfer Agent.
GTE Still on REG SHO Naked Short List?
http://www.amex.com/amextrader/tradingData/data/RegSHO/daily/AMEXth20061002.txt
GTE does not have a seat on the AMEX...it is only traded there.
Rather interesting "coincidence" is it not?!
I can confirm that this is my understanding, as well, from my email exchanges with Rob Bleckman.
We should hear some news soon with regard to the progress on Stratelite testing.
The BUYS are in anticipation of new releases, which have been held back until after the AMEX hearing decision. JMHO
I found this of interest:

This is certianly a positive!
The hearing is actually at 4:30 EDT
I believe the AMEX Appeals Hearing will be conducted starting at 4:30 PM EDT tomorrow. The results of the hearing may not be known until days after that session IMHO.
GLTA......Danielle
Well, at least we can all say that a lot of some of the uncertianty will be resolved one way or another after tomorrow's AMEX Appeal Meeting. That is the good news.
This may be the one individual which is needed on the BOD,, which may had been a "suggestion" on the part of AMEX maybe? They did have an issue with corporate governance and internal controls as one of their beefs if you recall.
That is exactly why they brought him on board. Just figuring that one out now huh?
)
I think this is rubbish but:
there is some talk on the GTE board that there are merger talks in play:

and
http://www.sanswire.com/videoCNBC_high.html
broadcast about 3 weeks ago, and no news yet on test progress mind you...total silence.
There is an AMEX hearing scheduled for tomorrow where GTE is appealing a delisting determination by AMEX staff also figures in here....what drama.
Opinions?
I think this was an excellent choice given his background and experience. This will really strengthen the firm's BOD and provide the necessary oversight on the Audit Committee. This is definitely a positive.
The more important point is that he was another independent director added to the BOD with deep knowledge and background in SEC regulations and disclosure issues along with M&A experience. If this stock was really thought to be headed to the OTC:BB after tomorrow...why add this member to the current BOD. My own opinion is that there is a plan and proposal in place which will be presented to the AMEX review board tomorrow which, hopefully, will be accepted and GTE will be allowed the time to execute on that plan.
Let's be more specific...a laundry list:
- traditional Telcos (ole Bell companies)
- satelite broadcasting (DirectTV, EchoStar, etc.)
- Tower operators (CCI, AMT, etc....)
and of course add in all those owners of properties who get
monthly rents/royalties for having a cell tower sitting on
their properties or granted "right of way"s.
- traditional money transfer service companies (FirstData's Wester Union. etc.)
.....etc etc etc.....
It is usually a 7-10 day period before moving and trading on the OTC:BB or another exchange.
