I don't know about the video. Maybe it was not planned or he didn't want to do it. What I do know is on the phone he sounds FULL of energy. His connections in the medical device industry are invaluable. PH's as well. He meets and talks to other executives including CEOs in the field on a regular basis for advice. MedAssets wanting him to go was because the biggest thing in healthcare right now is robotic surgery. Hospitals want it bad but they want options and don't like being cornered. So even though SPORT wasn't ready, they still wanted him share what he could and give their 2 cents as to what they would like to see. Why not go? Luckily for us Duke was there and we found out about the video. It's a fine line to talk about a medical device that is not FDA approved but you don't want to miss any opportunities. I'm not worried about him but encouraged. I think everyone should read the book. "One up on Wallstreet" by Peter Lynch. Titan Medical fits his profile of a company that will do us well. An untested management team, no analysts covering them, no smart money invested, so so website. Good read for the Holidays!
You will be fine though and good for Christmas.
We are the same age! You will likely be sent home and no surgery for the diverticulitis. Not sure about the leg numbness. If that doesn't subside I would consult with a neurologist but my guess is that it will resolve. For long term colon health INCREASE YOUR FIBER INTAKE! At least 30 grams a day. Minimize the meat and potatoes. You don't want a colostomy!
Do you mind giving examples of some of those technology advancements that you missed out on? Studying history is one of the best guides to sound investing. Thanks.
I emailed it to him.

Email Wednesday from Intuitive. I assumed it was to all robotic surgeons. Asked to compare SS platforms of DaVinci, SPORT and Surgibot. I bet most surgeons probably trashed it.
When I first saw the video I couldn't get the thought out of my mind that is was the beginning of an SNL skit.
Did you do your survey?
It's not a piece of crap. It's all preference. Some want to control the sterile field and don't mind 3D glasses. I am more of a nuisance to my OR staff because I hog instruments so I have easy access to them because I want to be "in control". This can create other problems. I prefer full emersion for better accuracy and dexterity. This is why Intuitive sent the survey to all robotically trained surgeons to compare the 3 companies SS platform. So let's see what the "customers" want going forward. It doesn't matter what a few high status surgeons think. What do the masses want especially the younger surgeons? General Surgery training has changed a lot over the past 10 years and simulation training is now required. The technology with the best simulation and training will win. IMHO
The technology of SPORT aka IREP has been in development since before 2009. I'm not worried about Intuitive coming up with anything like it anytime soon.....unless the steal patents.
I usually don't pay attention to all those surveys we get from companies but something told me to take this one and I was pleasantly surprised to see SPORTs claims being asked about. As if it was taken right off Titans website except for the sterile field question.
I already did and I gave preference to SPORT. It was a "listen to the customer" survey. Questions like how important is mobility, speed of set up, cost, 3D vision, surgeon controlled sterile field, 18.5mm vs 25mm incision. I look forward JUrology and others weighing in.
I got mine today.
....to compare DaVinci SS to SPORT and Surgibot.
Add to that the fact the Intuitive sent surveys to surgeons to some DaVinci SS to SPORT and Surgibot today. One couldn't ask for a stronger validation of Titan Medical and our investment.
iPhone 6 plus helps but not much.
Is that why Jeffrey R. Immelt keeps ignoring my emails? I am heavily invested GE and that stock hasn't moved up in decades! Yet they continue to have $140 billion+ in revenues.
I guess Cuba stumped Immelt.
No way but I'm sure there is collaboration. Applied medical has very good products that span multiple surgical specialties.
You got me thinking so went back and reviewed the Titan medical video. Applied medical instruments/trocars are being used as the auxiliary ports.
You are absolutely right about Applied Medical. They are a very very very successful small private company that makes the lowest cost trocars on the market. I love them. Our surgery center and hospital switched to them. They are cheaper and better than the others. They have other very good and cost effective equipment as well. Fowler has been a director since 2009....the year he started working with Peter Allen and N. Simaan to develop IREP. I'm glad others are connecting the dots as well. Only those watching the game can appreciate this. The score board watchers will continue to complain and whine and wast my time on the board.
Jeffrey R. Immelt will on CNBC tomorrow at 9.
....know about
Yes you should have.
Why did they appoint a 75+ year old rheumatologist to the board announced last week? He was fired as CEO from a Pennsylvania hospital system for losing money in 2000. What would he no about surgical devices?
If I posted that, I might as well give you my name. We're all anonymous. Have you talked to the Surgeon that tested SPORT again?
...also helps to have surgical assistants and surgical techs that can think at least 2 steps ahead and anticipate.
Still doesn't make sense to sell now. How many shares does he have?
That's true. It wasn't taught to me.
I live 10 minutes from the hospital. I've been a surgeon for 12 years so I'm pretty fast. So thanks and that will be my last response to you.
It just seemed like perfect timing. Back home now.
1 gram of invanz preop.
Rapid sequence induction since the patient ate 4 hours ago. Do you understand any of this? Moron.
In the OR right now about to do a laparoscopic appendectomy. Staff positioning the patient who just received versed and fentanyl from the CRNA. SCDs being placed. On call this weekend. I am good at multitasking. I don't need to use capital letters to make my point.
Why would you care? You sold all your shares. What happened at the ISI medtools conference that you claimed your CEO went to. No info on website. Did he really go? Why cancel appearances. Scheduling conflicts?.....with something so important?.....please!
Any meeting with institutional investors would be to explain the delay in detail. They were probably put on hold during the long quite period. IMO
Probably.
