We are the same age! You will likely be sent home and no surgery for the diverticulitis. Not sure about the leg numbness. If that doesn't subside I would consult with a neurologist but my guess is that it will resolve. For long term colon health INCREASE YOUR FIBER INTAKE! At least 30 grams a day. Minimize the meat and potatoes. You don't want a colostomy!
