...No need for them to be "modest" about this one....
My eyes thought they saw 2013. Wonder if that guy is still long.
Speaking of CNBC:

And all predicated in not knowing for sure just how well it might work out .... Looks like it's coming together...think that LQMT needs to hire a "real" marketing/PR group
Seriously a shame that LQMT sold Apple such exclusive rights.
The point was none of us has a clue. But, go ahead and construct LM's new marketing campaign- I'm sure they're listening.
if you have more knowledge about their real targets, feel free to share them.
Think that lqmt could take some points from that article into delivering a more powerful marketing message, e,g.
" “The material’s EXTRAORDINARY ability to BOND contrasting materials together ....... (That's powerful. Assign an economic benefit to it)
" EXOTIC metal ........(has a nice ring to it for metals investors and industrialists)
Some things missing from the blog post (inferred but not obvious)....cost could be classified into fixed and variable, and then forecasted out; assuming same "price" for MIM and LM, see which one breaks even first (on fixed cost), and at what point the benefits of less labor compensate for a difference, e.g. What volume of parts; whomever is writing the articles could get with accountant/cpa/cfo to refine the model. Hello?
Someone earlier linked this video we've all seen. Redchip Interview w/Steipp uploaded 10/25/12.
I noticed at 9:45 Steipp refers to an aerospace company that qualified a part after 15 months testing (good news right there.) Two months later same company asked LM to quote on a second part and gave them a subcontractor to "go four other parts." He mentioned it might provide a 7-8 million dollar opportunity running 10-15 years starting 2014 or 15. Not clear if the 7-8 is multiplied by 10-15 but it sounds like future aerospace orders might be in the pipeline.
It's a sad day watching you folks putting your money on this corpse when there are so many other opportunities out there with real companies who have real revenues. It's dead money to say the least. Nevertheless: good luck.
Normalized for the last five year's general econony- Hey, they're still in business!
I re-read that MTRN Annual Report that said they expected developments within FIVE YEARS on LQMT....oh boy, I sure hope not and I can't imagine MTRN shareholders thinking that's fine and dandy to talk about a growth segment that is 5 years down the road and how it doesn't even START to become accretive to earnings until sometime AFTER 5 years. PHOOEY!!!
Hopefully something positive and uplifting.. It's been difficult for some to stay the course in LQMT with the stock market red hot and going up...now market is going to be shaky...many pull backs many taking their profits....less sureness of the direction of stocks...which will make it easier to sit tight with LQMT.
can they fix there website please!
I think those small amounts at the current ask are all remnants of other trades. If you're bored though it's cheap thrills to buy a few hundred at +10 or 20%.
Here's patent involving knives. It doesn't appear they offered a significant advantage.
Same old shid. Please calm down. If something happens it'll be a much bigger spike than that. Otherwise, what're y'all doing here in the first place?
Sounds like LovePoker would like to do a little more buying this week.
Been a pleasure. Thanks!
I've been looking for an LM/Sandisk drive. Can't find one. Kind of weird anyway, to be hammering and bending an old Kang product to get a feel for the current batch. Suggestion to LM. Offer a sample of your latest iteration for say, $30. or at cost... or whatever. How many hundreds of investors would like to have it in hand just to confirm yes, there it is... OK. It might pay air fare/hotel for one of your next presentations.
Hey, Keith. Good picking. I know it's tedious. Thanks!
Regardless, the bottom line is still - SHOW ME THE MONEY!!! All signs point to a deal THIS year. If they don't have a signed deal for "significant" (not "insignificant" via Swatch) revenues in 2013, I would pause to think that putting off another year is going to change the outlook.
Then, the VERY next trade after that buy volume was a sell of 100 shares at .082. Yes, ONE HUNDRED shares ($8.20 - the commission would be higher than that for crying out loud!) at .082.
Does anyone know how this stock came from +$5.00 10 years ago to today's levels??
No... a point comes in the lifecycle of any company to fish or cut bait. We are at that point with LQMT.
Thank you! (damn you're good.)
Am I missing something or is this whole discussion silly? Take a near indestructible case, mount some stuff inside in a way that blocks the energy transfer, attach the screen with a resilient mount and do anything else to make it work. I'll bet I could come up with some sort of seat of the pants, ad hoc solution. If Apple wants a Liquidmetal case they will make a Liquidmetal case and it will work. It ain't anti-gravity we're talking here.
Who knows. Glass in an LM frame in a plastic/aluminum case. All I know is there's a very strong argument for us not doing design work.
Liquid Metal transfers way to much energy. Aluminum and plastic may mar and dent but they also do a decent job of protecting a product during an accident. Great for a golf club head, not so for protecting phone innards.
Good reasons to why Liquid Metal is not a good material for iphones, electronic devices or consumer products weighing more than a few ounces. Your non-scientific test was honestly a great one and highlights the reasons why I ended up selling at break-even back in Oct 2012 at .28. The material, IN MY OPINION, is too hard. Hardness is great for many applications but not so great when it is a housing that not only holds glass and circuit boards but also needs to be machined.
Apple's 25 mil begs to differ.
The material is difficult to machine because of its hardness. For the near-term future electronics cases are still going to need holes, threaded or otherwise, to accept boards and jacks. A material as hard as Liquid Metal is more expensive to machine. There may be less machining but that may also not matter if the machining is slower and 4-times as hard on the dies.
LQMT isn't selling a machinable material.
When it does fail it does so spectacularly. Lawyers, generally speaking, do not like shards of sharp metal on the garage floor after the case takes that 'perfect hit' when dropped. Just ask your screaming wife if SHE would want to deal with those shards.
A great reason for prototypes and testing!
LQMT is still a watcher for me but not a buyer at this time.
Perhaps you'll get back in at your old break-even!
Good luck!
My vote for Non-Event of the Year to date.
Let me sell 5k to see if I'm off restrictions I may join some of you playing games with this stock ....
Yeah lots patience needed here...almost don't feel like watching it lots noise mr wizened seems to smart to be short I think lots people here are trading the stock trying to maximize shares before what we know is coming this year
Engel-Liquidmetal Machine
This picture is somehow comforting. Any engineer types see evidence on the walls, floor, ceiling, background etc. of electrical, hydraulic, air, whatever connections to additional machines off camera? Any evidence this machine is connected? Looks as if a screen is on and the flasher on top is lit.

Visser Precision Cast is Coming Soon!
I tried the Korean version but had trouble understanding it.
Another thought provoking Vimeo:
NASA Spinoff: Supermetal by Mia - in English
Who are her parents? What inspired this little Korean girl to select this esoteric subject? Why did she do it in two languages?
Strange.
Daydream: Nomad talks the U.S. Mint into Liquidmetal pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, half-dollars and dollars. Saves money as they'll last forever. We can all say goodbye to ihub as we'll be too busy counting the above.
