Nice summary....I don't know how some people sleep at night.
I've heard that there are interested buyers of the system in the US for HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS.
Well, if true, I for one would have no problem with a 60 Kanno / 40 split (all of us)
GLTA
Betta do right Mr. Kanno or the mounties may come knockin' LOL
Sounds good - have a great trip. We will try and keep the excitement here to a dull roar in the mean time. ; )
GLTA
LOL - ah...ya...this baby is going to do a moon shot!!
I am just a small voice in the realm of oral flatulence, but I have learned from the best.
IMO - CNES is only a share printing factory. Been in and out of this a long time waiting for them to ink a deal, merge or be sold. Instead more and more dilution.
Lack of news and follow through on past PR's is more than annoying. Typical borderline scammy pink, again IMO.
LOL to both pics! My interpretation - the pigs that can fly are CPPC management. They will safely exit the Titanic while the rest of us desperately look for a flotation device of any kind.
GLTA - nice weekend, aloha and good night!
Fat finger trade today? or? tiny volume so probably no big deal

LOL yep! I often wonder what kind of tax money would be realized if all the churches had to pay property taxes---OR, even better, what if what was put in the collection plate was no longer tax deductible?
Bush said he will veto it because it "doesn't protect religion"
What? IMO, religion already has more protection that it needs in this country. But then again, I'm something of an agnostic/environmental/buddhist and have little use for religion - organized, disorganized and everything in between.
Glad to hear that the House passed the ENDA legislation.
I'm with you!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL
LOL - yes he does!
Have a good one Deb!
: ) Have a nice evening Jeff! Better pack some Tums!
LOL, warning - facetious post! -
Jeff, what planet are you living on?
Per John Gibson of Fox News, "Everything is just fine in the US"
Let's start with President Bush's disapproval rating, which hit an all-time high according to the pollsters at Gallup. Bush is now tied with Nixon for highest disapproval. Actually it's a bit higher, but in the polling world it's the same as a tie. Either way it's not good.
But here's the deal: Even the second highest-ranking Democrat in the House, Rep. Steny Hoyer of Maryland, said the surge is evidently working, and roadside bombing incidents and sectarian violence are down. The reason, Hoyer said, is the surge.
On another front we have full employment, and the economy is sailing strong into a storm of $100 a barrel oil.
On yet another front, a published report today said that homelessness is virtually over. People may have crushing mortgages, but they have homes. cough cough cough...
So all in all, the war is going in our favor. Proof of that is that Democrats have shut up about it. Bush has made sure you have a job, and this economy has insured you have a home.
So are doubts about all this good news the reason that Bush's disapproval numbers are so high? I don't think so. I think it is instead the tide of bad news turning to better or — dare I say it — good news isn't discussed in the media. Instead it's a constant drumbeat of things are bad, we're losing the war, you're going to lose your job and your house.
Look, I am aware there are problems in the economy and the war isn't won yet, and the good news is never as good as it sounds. But I know for a fact the bad news you hear isn't nearly as bad as it sounds. This is the mainstream media unwilling to change it's doom and gloom narrative when facts suddenly pop up that run counter to the story the media loves.
When history gets hold of the story and begins to carve things in stone, I think the picture will be much different than the one you are seeing today.
That's My Word.
Wow - that's some list. Some I have read before - many were new. Truly amazing. His handlers must squirm when he departs from the script and starts "speakin'" from the hip.
Even this morning, my wife and I had to turn the channel when he was addressing the situation in Pakistan. He is just too painful to watch.
ripping Bush apart over waterboarding....
and I thought they were talking about one of my favorite past times...boogie boarding. j/k
I saw that Olbermann show when it aired and found myself jumping up and down cheering. Loved that line, "verbal flatulence..."
We need some flippin relief out here! A PR! A whopper!
No sh#$! I've been in and out of this stock for years. At the moment down about 30%. A lot of us thought IESV would have pulled an ALMI run by now-------where's the beef???!!!
GLTA
True! I recall GWB did pretty well telling jokes at the White House Press Corps Dinner... What a different place the world would be if he had chosen comedy over politics early in life.
OMG! The Hollywood writers on strike could not make up stuff that ridiculously funny. Maybe GWB can cross the picket lines and just start talking into a tape recorder? LOL
Actually as Deb said, it's more sad than funny.
Somehow I don't see GWB pulling down big bucks hitting the lecture circuit after leaving office - can you?
OK - cool! I am so un-hip. I have no idea who those two guys are - a modern day, integrated Laurel and Hardy? ; )
As we know, the vast majority of voters haven't got a clue about what they're doing. Hope I'm wrong.
Yikes! I agree, but certainly hope you are wrong as well. I'm so confused and messed up these days - Here's my new "dream ticket" - Kucinich and Ron Paul. It will please everyone - UFO enthusiasts and anti-abortionists. ; )
Will never happen, but, in my best Antonio Banderos voice: "it is a dream that I have." LOL
Hey Deb! Best wishes for a great week.
We had rain all day yesterday - so no puppy walks or tennis. Today we make up for it! LOL
Aloha
LOL - actually , its not funny at all. I wonder what caused him to change his mind - where's that video from the first gulf war about taking on Baghdad getting stuck in a quagmire? sheez
I have no idea, but I am feeling pretty crazy today! - LOL.
Hey! Speak for yourself!!
LOL
Good Morning!!
Is there anything you CAN'T find on youtube?
I grew up in a small town in Northern Indiana. You know, the type that had only one traffic signal, main street, band stand etc etc.
Found these videos that give a nice overview of what it was/IS still like.
thanks - have set a reminder to watch the 60 minutes piece!
ROFL!! Yep - good one!
I can't decide if he's the Antichrist, or just demon possessed.
LOL - or he might need more fiber in his diet?
Good points. Agreed, Obama, as intelligent as he is, has shown some poor judgment, and naivet'e perhaps?
We have some very good friends in Chicago who are close to Obama and his campaign. I asked for their take on the situation, and they gave this perspective:
"There's so much to say about Barack's waning momentum at this point. We ran into objections from our gay friends a year ago because the Senator refuses to endorse gay marriage. His campaign hasn't done nearly enough to engage the black vote or the gay community and it seems to be the result of his careful handlers who are white men and probably hetro. The blogs were interesting. There are many different hot button issues for various segments of our society and his campaign doesn't seem to have a handle on the totality of it all. I trust him, I don't trust his campaign managers."
While I too am very disappointed in this development, I am keeping an open mind about Obama. I think he is smart enough to learn from his mistakes, unlike a current sitting President. ; )
Yep, Hillary is one tough, smart lady. When you watch her among all the male candidates, it really blurs the fact that she is a woman and can hold her own.
Biden vs Bush - LOL, would love to see that as well.
That was a great line!!
Good summary Jeff. Hillary, except for the waffling on the drivers license for illegals, spoke very forcefully. Still, I don't trust her.
Edwards great job! Come across very intelligent and sincere. He repeated it a little too often, but i definitely agree that we CANNOT leave the problems created by Bush to a future generation who will not have the same opportunities for education and security that most of us have at some leve.
Obama take a cue from Joe Biden - get tough! (I loved Biden's rant on Guiliani!!!!!!!!) You're a politician not a negotiator trying to find common ground with everyone so they will like you. Obama's best exchange was to challenge Hillary on releasing the info from the Presidential library so we can all judge whether her being close to the White house by being first lady is enough. What have you and Bill got to hide Hillary? hmmmmmmmm
I don't know enough about Biden, and need to do some research. He certainly has vast experience - but will that experience effect drastic changes that need to be made, or will we have more of the same from an entrenched politician?
It's Halloween - almost. I am thinking a flaming bag of dog poo or something similar at the very least! LOL
Thanks Stephanie and Jeff!
I will be watching too!
Obama IMO is between "a rock and a hard place" on this issue. He needs to differentiate himself from Hillary, denounce discrimination, and at the same time court the black voters (conservative Christian and secular) that she has - and while trying not to alienate the GLBT community. How would you suggest he do that?
I don't give a rip about Gospel music artists and the IMO narrow-minded folks that buy their CD's. Again, IMO, they are no better/different than any secular special interest group. Unfortunately, to get elected you need to make some choices.
I don't like it one bit that he decided to share a stage with people that he openly disagrees with. Do you really think should he win, he will be more religiously conservative than Bush has been, or Romney will be?
Hillary seems to have discovered a way to be accepted by a lot of "homophobic" church leaders and gays alike. Check this article out:
http://jasmynecannick.typepad.com/jasmynecannickcom/2007/10/obama-blacks-ga.html
quote: I would ask that he take the time to meet with African-American gays and lesbians to hear our concerns about why although we may want to support him, staging events with Black homophobic gospel singers is a definite put off. Let’s call this a teachable moment.
It’s no secret that his competition Sen. Clinton has been successfully courting and wooing gays from day one. She can do that. She’s a white female with a lot less to lose. Obama on the other hand has probably been advised that he must tread lightly to avoid angering African-Americans, especially those religious ones that are evenly split between their affinity for him and Clinton. An issue such as gay marriage might send them packing right over Clinton’s camp.
But I say that Obama’s got to get with it and he better get with it fast. He watches the news just like I do, and I know he’s seen the polls and reports of him trailing far behind Clinton.
The bottom line is that Obama can’t afford to alienate the gay community, but can even lesser afford to alienate the Black gay community.
For many Black lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Americans race trumps sexual orientation everyday of the week. However, when it comes to homophobia, especially within our own communities, our sexual orientation wins out over any race related alliances we may have. The reason for that is that many Black gays have experienced racism from whites, similar to that of heterosexual Blacks, but when it comes to homophobia, well that is often a Black on Black crime if you know what I mean.
What Obama doesn’t need is for those same Black gays who want to support him because he’s a brother and believes he can do the job, to turn to one of one of his competitors because he’s perceived to be supporting and campaigning with homophobic people.
Obama has an ace in his had and he doesn’t even know it. Unlike Sen. Clinton and the other presidential candidates, Obama is in the unique position to use his race to speak directly to African-American gays and lesbians in a way that none of the other candidate’s can or will. When Hillary markets to gays, 9 times out of 10, it’s to predominantly white gay and lesbians. Obama has made it a point at times to reach out directly to African-Americans for support and should take an extra step to reach out to Black gays in particular. Now that would be an example embracing the change and showing audacity!
Obama and his camp might be surprised to find that the issues most relevant to Black gays aren’t marriage, but access to jobs with living wages and affordable healthcare. For those more affluent gays, which more often tend to be white, marriage might be the number one issue because many of them already enjoy large salaries that provide health benefits, live in safe clean neighborhoods, and have access to resources to provide for a comfortable life. But for many Black gays who live in traditional Black communities around the country and whose struggles more closely mirror the common issues facing African-Americans, marriage is often second to myriad of more basic needs like being able to keep food on the table, a roof over their family’s heads, and access to affordable healthcare. Which is not to say that Black lesbian and gay couples don’t benefit from marriage, but if you weigh marriage verses having food to eat and a roof over your head, what do you think is going win? Bottom line, the gay community is not monolithic.
At the end of the day, a vote is a vote, and Obama can’t afford to lose a single one nor can he afford to be labeled as homophobic at this stage of the game.
Besides if gays can forgive Patti LaBelle for participating in homophobic Black mega church pastor Bishop Eddie Long's Easter Service, we should be able to work through this issue together with Obama.
Obama, have your people call my people, and let’s make this happen. "end quote"
Awwwwwwwwwww!! Sooooooooooooo cute!
aloha,
Joe
That does surprise me. His campaign will pay the price nonetheless imo. Very disappointed!
Just once - thank goodness. Is every body dumping today? Let me know when its my turn. ; )
That's great news about your friend's sister, and so true about UCLA. When I was 14, I blew out the cartilage in my left knee. The "horse" doctors in Indiana where I lived could not find the problem and suggested that I try yoga to restore the flexibility in my knee. My dad was the head preacher at the Jehovah's Witnesses church. You might as well have told him his son should practice voodoo!LOL
Anyway, long story short - my grandparents took me to UCLA hospital when we visited them in West LA a few months later. They found the problem right away, operated, and months later I was doing fine. UCLA rocks!
