Jim:
While Loops post gave us some positive hope, I think yours hit the nail on the head. This has been bugging me since this began last week. NOK has been quite determined to say the least and they know for the most part that IDCC was as determined and was not going to give in and simply settle now. The fact that they filed on 7/13 to oppose and a motion to vacate means they are in for the long haul. No way NOK is doing this for window dressing to make IDCC reconsider and settle at lower numbers and lower rates. They mean business whether they have a chance or not.
As much as I loved Loops post and the mimimal chance he (loop) gave them to win an appeal, your paragraph as listed below scares the crap out of me. I think we should all be prepared for the continuation of a few more months of this and a share price that will languish to say the least.
Absent of Loop being right, we stand to tread water at best unless the upcoming quarters is lights out, or for some reason companies like LU, MOT and Ericy and the rest have some sort of brain lock and sign a deal with IDCC prior to resolving this matter with NOK.
Just My opinion.

[bThat by itself doesn't bother me without action But they then followed it up by the scheduling order filed 7/13 where it is mentioned that Nokia has informed IDCC of it’s intent to oppose IDCC petition and to file a petition and motion to vacate.
This does not come across at all like a company setting the stage to be paying in 2 weeks. To me it reads just the opposite and more to the point I see no reason for it unless they do have the mindset to fight it out. IMO the track that would be taken by a company ready to pay would be filled with wind down verbiage. This isn’t wind down verbiage. I see no reason to run this rough talking, shall we say bluff, if that’s what it is since it won’t change anything anyway if they pay and would cause some loss of creditability as the street does not enjoy paper lion boasting]
