Jim, You know how long I've been around. And I used to bite a few legs of some of IDCC's detractors, (Once). I have a very high regard for you and this board, as well as the previous boards that you have overseen. I don't mean to cast aspersions on any good folks, and especially you, as I believe you are an honorable fellow.
I just see the criticism as being a tad one-sided, as if those two are responsible for the down turn, and again, that's not you saying anything like that, but several noisy "others". It obviously gets to you now and then and I would say that yours is a largely thankless task, but it would be a shame if you let silly banter between posters raise your blood pressure too much or too often. Don't forget that we readers and visitors can do some sifting and reading between the lines ourselves, that's part of the allure of the board and I think it is even an attraction for some. Most of the time, I don't pay any attention to the noise here, just the information, and a few opinions that I don't always agree with, all of which I very much enjoy and hope continues.
Best to you and all good folks here. Best of luck to all.
Back to lurking mode.
Toby
I wish for it for all. Best, EOM
Hey nic, not in, although I've been tempted. That's why I keep up with it... maybe, maybe... But many moons have passed and I would have held when it hit it's highs, I'm like that. So we'll see. It looks like a red or black on a roulette wheel to me. All on Nokia case as has been frequently said. If that doesn't pan out, there will be some posters looking to tar and feather and send the so called "bashers" or anyone with an opinion that isn't cheerleader style out of town on a rail, like it's their fault. Lordy...
Still kickin' tires with the female half of the world. Imagine the patience that I've learned reading this thread! I can wait for the right one this time! LOL and best to you good fellow.
Toby
quartzman0, I think when the pressure is on the stock, some folks point fingers at others. It isn't the best human quality but it is common. Last time I knew I am the only one responsible for my own decisions, not anyone else. If I hold a stock while it goes through ups and downs that are the very nature of a very speculative stock such as this, I can't blame the fairies, the mysterious forces of nature, one, two, or twenty posters, or anyone else for that decision.
Everyone that I've been reading here and on previous threads for nearly TEN YEARS is feeling impatient. I think they're all lucky not to be broke or in a food line somewhere what with the economy the way it is. Imagine listening to your wife or friends who have all their dough in Mobile or who bought gold when it was one third the value while you're waiting for IDCC to blow. It's hard. I know, I used to have an average around 22 or 23 with 2500 shares, a little guy to be sure, but heavily committed percentage wise. I was freaked when it went as low as 5 or so but held and it came back.
She's due for another rise, but I'm not sure we'll see a gusher as has so frequently been hoped for. All M.O.

I read this board nearly every day and have no idea why nicmar and dmiller are being attacked. Let's remember that IDCC is a stock, not our country or a family member. It doesn't need defending as they might. I think it is the height of egotistic insanity to think that either of these fellows or anyone else for that matter has any significant short or long term effect on the price of any stock. I think this board is about sharing opinions while we watch and wait, gathering information and doing our own sifting of it in a search for the best information to serve our own investment style. Period. It is childish and nearly paranoid to worry about anyone's opinion here. Most of us have never and will never meet. Would their detractors speak to nicmar or dmiller face to face the way they do in messages? I very much doubt it.
Nicmar and dmiller are personal favorites of mine. I hope they stay and don't get dumped by the cops.

DD, "OysterFest served up live music and arts and crafts, in addition to more than 100,000 briny oysters and more than 10,000 littleneck clams." , a quote from an article online. But numbers don't matter in the oyster world. I'll take your word that your oysters taste best to you. I know my favorites!

I'll have to go to Maine to check out your best. I'm near the Truro Pamet River, known for its steamers. I prefer littlenecks and oysters myself.
Best to you and IDCC stock holders of every stripe.
Toby
Hey Blue! I can't imagine what would take it there again. I do wonder if the "sell on the news" crowd will bust it back to the mid twenties after the likely rise in a few days. I'm watching...

You were there? It's really turned into a big deal. I love Wellfleet, it's people and its oysters...
OT: Hi nic,
Yes, we had quite a time. I'm glad many of the people are still around. Got divorced a few years back, ...ugly thing. I got custody of my daughter as her mother was somewhat bonkers. We get along better now. Daughter in college and I'm chasing clams...a...(ahem),... dating some nice woman, several even. Hard to find the right one, like stocks...
Don't own any IDCC at the moment. Missed the train. Didn't have access to dough when it bottomed or even at that 24 level. Ironically I have the money now but I'm not going to chase it. I hope I'm wrong and it goes up and up for you and the gang though.
Best to you nic. I'll be right nearby.
Toby
OT: I'm here every day to lurk. Living in Truro, doing some carpentry, very little work... but thinking positive thoughts for ole IDCC. How could I stay away!
Toby
OT: Someone say "clam"?
Happy New Year and best wishes to all from the frequent lurking clam in Truro, Massachusetts.
OT: LOL. I'm with you nic. Lessons of all kinds have come the hard way with me...
Back to silent running.
T
OT: Thought I would come out of the shadows and say "Hello". I check the board every day for old times sake. I don't hold any IDCC these days but you never know...
Toby
OT: Hey art ol poop! Thanks for the note, you made me laugh. Ah yes, we had quite a time back in the day. You know that was several years ago now, but I remember you and those times with great fondness.
Enough on the softie stuff though, we're men, right! Is that old goblue still around?
Hope all is well with you good fellow.
Toby
OT: I say old feller. You're a sight for these old cyber-eyes too. I don't have your email anymore, but since none of the whackos are going to read our OT blather I'm tempted to just lay mine on you here; tobiaseverett@yahoo.com . Drop me a note and I'll be chatting with you soon. Hope all is well with you bull and with all your dearest ones.
Toby
OT; Arlington, just south of Manchester, VT. Near ski areas at Stratton and Bromley Mountains. If you're ever up this-a-way let me know.
Toby
OT; Just want to say "hello" to the old gang and tell you all that I still lurk for knowledge and amusement. Sorry that I have no bread to get in anymore... I was sorely tempted to use my last bucks when we were at the last below 30 range, and ever since, but my money is either gone or committed elsewhere.
Best to all from your old Cape Cod clam, (now in Vermont).
OT; Just a hello from old me. Congrats to all patient longs. Clam still alive, but missed this boat...no dough for a ticket.
Best, Toby
Happy New Year to the olde gang.
Best to you all. Still occasionally lurking...
Toby
Hey all, I have been out of the loop. Forced to sell last summer. Down but definitely not out. Can anyone give me a short synopsis of the last three fourths of a year with IDCC?
Toby
OT; goblue,
No email yet. Just moved back ito my house after 9 months out. Judge kicked my wife out! All very sordid, really...
My daughter is 16 years old and on the worst terms with her mother.Sad stuff in one sense, but we're moving forward. Thank God for therapy and Duffs... or Long Trail, (my favorite, ever heard of it?).
Ah, hope all is well with you. If you ever get out thisaway, you give me a shout, ya hear?
Best, T.
rtd,
Hey old boy! Nice to touch base with you. I'll drop in when I can. Hope you are well.
T.
goblue, All is well. Long story. Ugly divorce. I'm better than ever...now... Best to you old friend, and all that still remember me. See you around.
T.
Hey Art, Thought I was dead, huh? Toby
JimLur,
Please don't throw me in with the rabble. I'm TOTALLY grateful for all your effort and just hope to express my thoughts/exasperation to those that most deserve it.
Keep up the good work, don't let the bastards get you down.
Again, thank you for all your selfless work and effort on this board, (and all the previous ones too).
Cheers,
Toby
Hey folks, this is no fun.
Plainly said; This board has gone to the dogs. I regularly skip hundreds of posts here. I used to read most of them. Many of the "active" posters should venture outside once in a while and smell the roses, or take a walk in the sun, (or even the rain). A few spend so much time here that I wonder if they might benefit from better nutrition or more frequent use of soap and water, even sleep!
There is much to be learned about your investments and their deeper worth by living life instead of obsessing about posts on the internet.
Just one man's opinion.
Best to the best old RB'ers,
Toby
OT; Hey rookie,old friend,
I cannot keep up with this place these days. There is too much excess rambling and repetition, much of which is too mean spirited for my taste. I have a great job and many beaches to walk on, collect rocks, play music with a blues band, drink beer and an Irish whiskey, laugh from the gut with my friends, talk about and look at/love pretty women, smell the roses, thank God for all that and much, much more...
I still read this board, yep, uh huh...'cept I skip piles of it, probably miss some good stuff too. But mind you, good fellow, I never forget a friend once made, and you are one. There are several others here too, and I include your Bonnie's crowd in that, especially bulldzr. Think of me next time and I'll say "cheers" to you all with a Jameson 12 yr. from way up north out on Cape Cod.
BTW, I saw a whale spouting at the beach a couple days ago...nice stuff.
Best to you good rookie,
Toby
Agree 100%. Toby
If it weren't for your amusings ramblings, I'd put you on permanent "ignore", but you add a bit of childish "spice" to the otherwise somewhat dry and business-like filtering of information. Thanks for the chuckles!

dagrinch,
Thank you so much for your expert interpretation of the company's comments at the CC in regard to the settlement. Your analysis makes good sense.
Yes, the overnight ten-bagger dream is toast, but it was spawned in a different market environment. The fact is that IDCC is a mere guppy compared to some of these industry blue whales. Apparently, our very well intentioned "root for the underdog" optimism, (even dreaminess)on the internet message boards did not play out like reality of the facts.
So here we are with a "steady eddy" approach instead. More realistic, (o.k., boring!) approach, yes, but pragmatic and well aimed.
Best wishes,
Toby
OT Blue;
All is well, thanks. Never better, even. Rough couple of years preceding this one (personally). Life is good and sunny/warm today here too. Rough weather this winter. Today is a gift on many levels...
Good to hear from you blueman. See you in Houston!
Cheers,
Toby
JimLur, Just heard the news.
Thank you for all that you have done. What an experience this has been so far... It looks like a great future for us. I'm glad that ERICY battle is in the rear view mirror. It has been hard for me these past couple of years...all the money I've got is in this.
Faith and gratitude from this man.
Thanks again,
Toby
OT: Amen. eom
Good day all. Just some idle thoughts on a quiet day.
I usually have little to add to the scene here, but am still long. Pressure from domestic and world events outside of the Telecom industry have, IMO, prevented the IDCC stock price from rising to a more appropriate level.
Distress from tension and anxiety on the world scene is bound to keep the economy and Wall St. under wraps for the forseeable future. And since war and the threat of it is apparently going to rule our lives in this era of global policing, I think that this baby is not going to really fly until a whole new era of peace and prosperity arrives. That is too bad, as I imagined IDCC emerging sooner and stronger than has been apparently the case.
Still a great stock under the circumstances, and if a few world events go our way, things could pick up quickly. Of course, the world does not seem to agree with our leaders in regard to the Iraq war, but that doesn't usually stop countries from doing business with us. However, in times of war, and the constant threat of it, one can hardly expect the world economy to soar, to say the least. I just hope that we are doing the right thing.
And that ERICY trial....well we've all heard enough about that here. I guess we'll just see. I'm optimistic on that front at least. Again, I think the positive reaction to a win with ERICY (or settlement - I won't take sides here), will be muted if the politics of the war/threats of war/terrorism situation do not change to some very large extent.
You just can't beat these times for interesting possibilities. Let us pray, no matter what your politics on the matter, that we meet the future with a positive and fresh approach for our childrens sake first, and the economy and IDCC's sake second.
We all win that way.
Toby
Agree 100%.
Toby
Thanks Jim,
"Hows that for freebee?" Love it.
Best,
Toby
OT: Thanks anyhow, I figured it out on my own.
