By the way ALI kind of proved he was the greatest in his time.
Some would say Ali was the greatest of ALL time. Just like Anderson Silva is the greatest UFC of all time (IMO of course).
Everyone seems to be getting their gonads in an uproar over a buyout. Be careful what you wish for because unless mgt can get the stock price up before a buyout offer happens, there will be a lot of disappointed people around here imo.
Miller, just for the record, what buy-out price would satisfy you?
Now showing 800 bid at $27.00 and only 100 offered at $27.41. I can only say lord help the shorts as they commence to cover.
Mickey, I beg to differ. I say let the shorts roast over an open fire!
Nice little POP at the opening bell. Hope the momentum continues.
IMHO, things ARE falling in place. One day (very soon), an announcement of an agreement with Nokia will be announced.
I agree with you about things falling in place, but I'm not convinced Nokia will sign until forced to do so. Hopefully we'll hear good things from ITC on the appeal.
Either or both!
POLL: Maybe we should have a poll on what would be an acceptable buy-out price of IDCC. There is discussion on the other board regarding this topic.
Just curious, because that's how I would post after 5 or 6 Scotch-on-the-rocks, lol.
I tink de CSCO does not a wanna buy de IDCC eben doe dey got rid of de poison pill. I say good.
Hmmm, did 3sons have a liquid lunch?
good luck with Mom ... : )

Me thinks I'll hold my shares for awhile yet. I still can't believe the street doesn't think IDCC is way under priced. Like I said about a month ago, I'd like to see anyone show me a better stock than IDCC.
5,700,000 shares short...18.5 daze 2 cover...???
IMO, these guys are either idiots or they have balls of steel.
Mickey, does this mean IDCC is once again a SCREAMING BUY?
Good for you on buying back after selling it all. Hopefully it will be one of the smartest things we as investors have ever done.
Going on 39 years..
Wow 39 years! For some reason I took you as a youngster when you were posting on Jimlurs board. Have you been in IDCC very long?
POISON PILL TERMINATED:
Well I guess that's good news..........we'll see how the market reacts. Thanks Olddog!
I never used the words "miracle drug".
You are correct.
Miller, I have read the headlines. Provenge doesn't really appear to be a miracle drug as shown below. They say a 4 month increase in life and reducing risk of death by 24%. I will however keep DNDN on my watch list.
The drama-prone biotech released results Wednesday night providing more support for its late-stage Impact study showing that Provenge extends the overall survival of men with metastatic, castrate-resistant prostate cancer. The study showed that Provenge increased three-year survival by 40% compared to a placebo, extending median survival by 4.1 months and reducing risk of death by 24.1%. The full results of the study will be released on Friday at the American Society of Clinical Oncology 2010 Genitourinary Cancers Symposium.
In May DNDN is expected to get approval by the FDA.
When you say expected do you mean it's likely, possible or just has a 50/50 chance of getting approved?
IIRC our IDCC was expected to beat NOK at the ITC.
Will CSCO go to $70.00 in a heart beat not likely?
Good point Mickey. I'll add that with a float that is more than 100 times that of IDCC, that it would take earth-shattering news for CSCO to increase share price by 50%. With a comparatively small float, IDCC could move 50% just by signing one major wireless company. I'll also add that IMO John Chambers is one of the most brilliant CEO in the business and IDCC could only dream of a CEO like Chambers.
That's a HUGE if!
Dmiller, I did a little research on DNDN after you mentioned it the other day. You said you thought it would reach $60 by summer. Just curious how that could happen with a negative eps of $2.04.
Your prediction might be viewed as a HUGE if. Please enlighten me.
Jeff, I'm a buy-and-hold type guy and while I'm aware that many here have held shares much longer than me at 8 years, I must say I'm losing faith in IDCC mgmt. However I feel very confident in the fundamentals of IDCC so frustration is definitely tearing away at my patience. I would imagine many others feel the same way. I guess I'm guilty of the number one sin...........never fall in love with a stock.
IDCC is making money with their approach.
This is true. IDCC mgmt along with day traders are making money.
Just returned home to see IDCC has been played like a fiddle once again. Wassup with that? Maybe I'm naive but I just don't get it. Why isn't our share price at least in the $30's?
New talent is needed as well as new approaches. A billion dollar company should not have discount staff working public relations. Interdigital needs market savvy talent and a BOD and management team that promote Interdigital's accomplishments. They need to get out of these secretive shadows that have hindered share value.
This is the most sensible comment I've seen posted in a long time. Good on ya, Badger!
IMO, we need exposure, not a hush-hush pr department.
Is she the last word. Wonder if she has a good dialogue going with Bill Merritt.
Not sure about dialogue, but I bet a $ to a donut that every company related comment that comes out of her mouth is approved by uncle Billy first, lol.
For that I give you a thatta boy!
Myself along with others here share your thoughts on the value of IDCC patents. For the life of me I can't figure out why Wall Street doesn't. When are we going to get the recognition we deserve? Alright, enuf of my ranting!
I just gotta say I'm impressed and amazed at the success of this forum. No pissing matches, just adult discussions. This is great! Lets keep it going.
Great email Mickey. Now lets see if Janet has the courtesy to respond.
Thanks Mickey. What you say makes me more comfortable that IDCC will re-sign/renew licenses with those that expire in the next year or 2.
Good morning, Mickey.
After reading the other board I noticed that Rmarchma posted a time-line of when licenses expire. Apparently the renewal of current licensees would be as critical as signing Nokia.

Mickey, I think your post points to the heart of our investment in IDCC and should heeded by all long-time longs. This self satisfying management has crossed the line IMO. Maybe it's time to show our true opinions with our voting power next time around.
This is ridiculous, with this immense reserve they have, surely they can reward us investors/OWNERS.
FWIW, I voted for Comb 1-Time Div $1/sh + Recurring Div $.25/qtr. I figure the initial $1 will draw new investors and the $.25 will keep them invested. Of course this is just my opinion.
Those comments have become sooo cliche' over the years...
And yet you are still here................and supposedly own shares.
"stupid is as stupid does"
Not sure if you're insulting me or not.......doesn't matter. IMO, it's stupid for a fund manager who holds a sizable block of shares to not be asking questions of our CEO and CFO. Nasgovitz for sure wasn't bashful at the last CC.
they are considering removing the Poison Pill...
(in so many words)
I didn't hear any such thing. I'll listen to the CC again, maybe I missed that comment.
I think the Nokia saga has taken a lot out of him. This is a tough business.
I tend to think you are nuts on about Nokia. TC asked him about future licenses that were promised and he responded by saying that this takes time. I guess I personally would like to hear a few details without revealing privledged information. Also, it's apparent to me that Merritt has no intention of declaring a dividend otherwise Nasgovitz would have been allowed to participate. This is just my humble opinion.
NO that is really a stupid comment.
Nah, not stupid, I was wondering the same thing. What happened to Nasgovitz?
