maybe I'm reading this wrong, but if it costs AOAG $200-300 to produce each oz of gold, and the forward sale amount is $500, wouldn't that represent a potential profit of $200-300/oz once they have the financing?

that's a very good point, getting cheapies would make them a huge profit in such a scenario
