Re: IDCC vs NOK.
I know NOK owes IDCC, you know it, management knows it and pretty much all IDCC investors know it. Now if only we could convince Wall Street.........
If not dmiller, there have been a couple of other "experts" offering there valuable input to the situation on the board for the last two days as well, maybe you should consider them.
If the above was directed at me, well I never said I was a expert. I simply offered to help Mickey. Sheesh, first you go after your friend Goodbuddy and now this. Maybe you are just having a bad day.
We better start discussing stocks or IHUB might shut us down. Btw when is the next date from ITC appeal results for IDCC/NOK?
JMO....it's typically best for the moderator and assistants to have PM privileges
Good point Data. IMO, Mickey has been doing a great job so why not let him fly solo? If he becomes over-loaded I'm sure someone will step forward to help.
Why don't you and gungrey take over as asst. moderators here.
Bulldzr, my posts surely were not meant to cause you to stop moderating. Just meant as a "heads-up" to prevent the same mistakes as Jimlur's board.
If you sincerely do not want to help Mickey keep an eye on the board, I now have some extra time everyday so I could help.
Thanks Bob and btw, I printed out the content of the Wikipedia link you posted and taped it to the file cabinet next to my PC.
He has made his intentions and wishes for the failure this board very clear, and as a moderator here I am charged with defending it.
Please do, but in a mindful and respectful manner. Remember that others are watching. If possible take the pissing matches to PM or email so it is not witnessed by the decent folks who read the thread.
Btw, I'm sure I am not alone when I say thanks to you for helping Mickey keep things running smoothly.
Those of us that have, and have been around for awhile have a slightly different view of the situation... I will leave it at that.
I just starrted posting a few months ago but have been in IDCC for almost 7 years and lurking on these boards since 1999-2000 when IDCC went up over $80. Now that I have some time on my hands I figured why not join in the discussions about our great stock.
Not to mention how happy I was to see Mickey get his own forum after Jim destroyed him over there. Let's not allow history to repeat itself here. Btw, I'll also visit Revlis on his new board.
One thing I do like about Him is that He never attacks anyone personally on this board.
My point exactly. Miller doesn't lash out at posters, just the post. IMO he keeps discussions on a even keel by reminding us that everything is not always seen through rose-colored glasses.
I would like our assistant moderator to be a little more careful when confronting conflicts. Making things personal only adds fuel to the fire. Let's make this the best forum on the web. I also think that this is what Mickey would like.
Well, here you are Revlis. This will probably be a great forum because no shenanigans will be tolerated.
I look forward to all the perks that Revlis will offer in the form of current related news.
Has anybody considered a Health Insurance play?
I'm debating on whether or not to short the 3 stocks you mentioned in hopes that this bill doesn't pass.
However, since the current schedule only calls for a one day hearing, that would only give about 4 hours for each side.
I was thinking each side would only have 3 hours. Don't these legal types take 2-hour lunch breaks?
:>)
Oh, one other thing - I try to be a voice of semi-humorous semi-reason and I have never intentionally insulted any fellow poster in any post here or on jimlurs board, ever, and if anyone can find an example where I did I will gladly apologize to the victim (I do poke fun from time to time and if that has hurt anyone please bring it to my attention).
Bob, I've read your posts for years while lurking on Jimlurs board and I never heard (or read) a mean or insulting word come from you. As far as I know, you have always been a gentleman with a sense of humor. And I agree that Mickey should have final say in what is accepted on his forum.
Thanks for the valuable info, Olddog. I'll bookmark it for further reference.
I think maybe I am not sensitive enough to personal attacks to know when a post escalates from "different opinion" to "attack" and would like to know if there is a concrete way to tell if a post is an attack.
Bob, IMO it is a good idea to post as if you were sitting across the table from the intended recipient.
To me it's obvious that most people feel "insulated" from confrontation while sitting in front of a keyboard in the privacy of their home and don't mind pushing buttons they wouldn't think of pushing in person.
Let's try to restrain our aggression when disagreements surface.
ALL IN FAVOR SAY-----YAY!
Please elaborate!
If IDCC gets a favorable ruling from the ITC, I believe there will be a settlement.
Keyword: IF
However my bet is in and I'm hoping for a positive ruling.
No, not at all. More big business decisions and agreements are reached on the golf course and in the locker rooms than at court ordered mediations.
I'm sure Tiger Woods might agree, btw you forgot to mention Hotels, lol.
I sure hope you stick around. People like you make for a great forum.
318,000 shares traded already today. Seems quite a bit higher than usual for some reason.
We do not need troublemakers on this board. if they want dmiller to keep on posting on this board, so be it.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Revlis stopped posting on Jimlur's board partially because of Miller's abrasive responses to his posts. If I had to pick who would stay.........hands down it would be Revlis. Btw, thanks again to Revlis for all he does to enlighten our investment.
I know, I was just razzing him a little and I also appreciate that he posted it for us.
Btw, the post for the sticky was Sons 4th time posting it. He must have double-tapped his mouse by mistake when posting it earlier. This is the 4th one for sticky.

Ahem..............yet another time :>)
Sons, I heard you the first time :>)
Isn't it nice to just speak just as you do and even though most of us disagree with you, we don't try to ban you and insist you must bring gifts to the board and connections and importance of who you are but just what you feel like you want to say.
You got that right Mickey. I read the post by Jimlur where he took a shot at you for no reason. This board is a breath of fresh air. Amen!
For a non-controversial post (LOL), date for filing IDCC's brief was extended until April 12, 2010, and two more attorneys added to the team.
Geez, someone outside looking in might think the only ones making money on IDCC are the lawyers and IDCC management.
I wonder if anybody ever added up the chargeable hours for legal fees paid by IDCC. I imagine it is a rather sizable sum.
Sons, it was my understanding that Nokia believes they can circumvent IDCC's patent(s) with their existing patents. I just happen to disagree with them. COME ON NOKIA, OWN UP AND PAY UP
I'm looking forward to this. Thanks XDX.
Revlis, I know I'm not alone when I say your efforts are greatly appreciated by most (if not all) members of this forum. Thanks for all you do!
Well that appeals loss isn't exactly good news. Lets just hope that IDCC presents a stronger case than Siemens.
You know what........you are right. I guess we play the waiting game now until we hear about the appeal. Take care!
Sons, aren't you interested in the sentiment of fellow investors? What is it about surveys that you don't like?
But as pointed out earlier it means very little.
Maybe it means very little to you, but I'm sure it means something to the 30+ who participated in the survey.
Btw, maybe you could explain what does mean something to you regarding value to share holders instead slamming everyone else or accusing people of having an agenda.
One clue: IMO everyone, and mean everyone here has their own plan (or agenda) regarding their investment in IDCC. I've only owned shares since 2003 but followed the stock since it shot up to $80 in 1999-2000.
The survey doesn't provide enough 'reasoning' to where an investor would consider an appropriate amount for a buyout.
Although I've already voted in the survey, I would prefer a detailed survey like Fish proposed. All investors are invested for different reasons and are different ages. Therefore a wider spectrum should/could be offered in the survey. This is just my opinion however.
Nice close....now I think I'll have a taste or 2. See you folks tomorrow!
Mrs. 3sons just called to say she wants to sell all of the expensive jewelry you bought her and buy shares of IDCC. I gave her the thumbs up, lol.
Now if I could only talk Mrs. Gungrey into selling some of her shoes. She has at least 100 pair and only wears a couple pair.
Sheesh, I'm not exactly sure why but we're up more than 5% with half a million shares traded. Let the squeeze begin!!!!!!!
I just made my vote, yay for 75% above $50!
So,,,,,,what's the hold up? When will this survey be in place?
Can't wait for them to drop Kyocera and LG. I also think a CCA reeral of the ITC decision should add quite a few bucks.
Ahem, what does reeral mean?
We're up more than 4% with 160,000+ shares traded after the first hour of trading. Not bad at all.
