Hello BullNBear52
Whether Martin ever wins the championship or not he will retire as one of the best NASCAR drivers ever.
JJ looked shaken up after the wreck today. It says he went to the hospital for precautionary evaluation. They said he was dazed. Hopefully he will be alright.
The 24 just missed JJ on his wreck. He did enough to keep himself in the chase today. But just barely.
He probably is the best driver to never win a championship.
I agree
But he'll never win one.
You may be right but he's always there at the end and he's in good shape to win one this year.
And he's a crybaby also.
Got to disagree with you on that one.
Best Wishes
craddock
lol
Got to take issue with you on the #6 car. 6th in points. Three time NASCAR runner up. He's as good as any out there. Hope he wins the Championship this year.
I agree. Looks like Jr's out of it this year. Jeff Gordon is just hanging on.
I believe there were over eighty messages on this board when I logged on. It's good to see there are NASCAR fans on IHUB.

Cardinal ss David Eckstein hit a walk off grand slam with one out in the ninth. The Cardinals win 5-3 over the Braves. It was the 4th career grand slam for Eckstein.
Next game Monday at 7:05 CDT. Matt Morris (12-4) for the Cardinals against Brewers Victor Santos (3-11).
I didn't know that was the rule. I agree with you the Orioles shouldn't be allowed to bring up a player to replace Palmerio during his suspension.
Sorry to miss up the last 10 minutes of qualifying for you. Next time I'll make sure it's finished on TV before I post. The Allstate 400 is at 1:00 pm CDT. Hope it's a good one.
I think so. But not sure. I went here before I turned the TV on.

I missed it. I only got to see a little of it today.
Elliott Sadler takes the pole for the Allstate 400. Points leader Jimmie Johnson back in 42nd, Tony Stewart 22, Greg Biffle 31. Those in the middle of the top 10 in points could close the gap a little tomorrow if those three don't move up. I bet Tony Stewart finishes good unless he has car trouble. He has a lot of experience at Indy.
The Braves beat the Cardinals 8-1 Saturday. Atlanta pitcher Tim Hudson went seven innings allowing 1 run and six hits. It was the 100th career win for Hudson.
Next game Sunday at 1:15 CDT. Cardinal ace Chris Carpenter (16-4) against the Braves Jorge Sosa (7-1). Could be a low scoring game tomorrow.
Cardinal second baseman Mark Grudzielanek had three hits to extend his season high hitting streak to nine games (17 for 37). The crowd of 48,565 pushed the Cardinals past the 2.5 million mark and was the 27th sellout of the season.
He does here. I live in North Arkansas (Cardinal territory). So I guess it depends on where you live.
I been watching the Cardinals since the early 70's and he's one of the best power hitters the Cardinals have had. Good RBI man.
Cardinal firstbaseman Albert Pujols made history tonight by becoming the first player to hit 30 homers in his first five seasons.
ST. LOUIS (AP) -- Albert Pujols of the St. Louis Cardinals became the first player in major league history to hit 30 home runs in each of his first five seasons, connecting in the first inning off the Braves' John Smoltz on Friday night.
Pujols has hit 190 homers since breaking in with the Cardinals in 2001, including a career-best 46 last season. With two outs in the first, he hit Smoltz's first pitch over the left-field wall for a two-run shot that gave St. Louis a 2-0 lead.
Pujols hit 160 homers his first four seasons, second behind Ralph Kiner's 168 from 1946-49.
Kiner's 215 homers were the most by a player in his first five seasons. Pujols is tied with Hall of Famer Eddie Mathews for second.
The Cardinals win the first game with the Braves 11-3. Mark Mulder pitched 7 innings for the win. Albert Pujols, Jim Edmonds, and So Taguchi each hit a home run.
Game 2 tomorrow afternoon 12:20 CDT. Tim Hudson (7-6) will start for Atlanta against Jason Marquis (9-9) for the Cardinals.
I thought they were going to win it all too. It was so aggravating watching the World Series. They didn't play like the team I had watched all year. Maybe they will get another chance this year.
I'll keep posting. Thanks
Hello excel
The Cardinals
Two of the best teams in baseball start a three game series tonight, Atlanta at St. Louis. Good pitching matchup John Smoltz (12-5) and Mark Mulder (12-5).
I'm still a Tennessee Titan fan. But I'll keep an eye on Jones and the Jaguars. Hope he does well making the switch to receiver.
Hello ddf. September 3rd against Missouri State. Not sure what kind of team the Hogs will have this year but looking forward to the season.
Nice contract Matt Jones signed. 5 year $8.45 million with the Jaguars. Could make more with incentives.
Chevy's pace laps
By Bob Margolis, Yahoo! Sports
INDIANAPOLIS – With three new models being introduced into NASCAR competition for the 2006 season, the count is now two down and one to go.
Just weeks after Ford unveiled its new NASCAR model, the Fusion, Chevrolet on Thursday brought out its next NASCAR contender, the redesigned-for-2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS. Both the new production car and race car carry the legendary name and heritage of the "SS" line, first introduced by Chevrolet in the 1960s.
The new race car was developed by a partnership made up of Chevrolet engineers and key Chevrolet teams over the past 14 months.
"We worked with our Chevy teams to get their input on how to make a better race car," said Pat Suhy, GM Racing group manager for NASCAR. "We spent a lot of hours in our wind tunnel, our coast-down test facility in Arizona and on race tracks to make this Monte Carlo even better than the current model."
The car made the first of several NASCAR-mandated shakedown runs Tuesday at Atlanta Motor Speedway with Bobby Labonte at the wheel.
"Everything went well," said Labonte, who ran a limited number of laps before bringing the car in. "It's just the first test. It's more of finding a baseline from where to begin."
Chevrolet and GM representatives were reluctant to talk in detail about how the test went, but observers at the track said the car seemed to be suffering from a handling issue that prevented Labonte from running additional laps. The problem was more a mechanical issue rather than an aerodynamic one.
The manufacturer expressed confidence that any problems with the new car would be resolved in time for its competitive debut at Daytona in 2006.
"I believe that in key areas we're able to work with our production counterparts to ensure that the race car is as good as it can be within the boundaries defined by NASCAR," Suhy said.
Despite the usual teething problems associated with a new car, Labonte is optimistic about the new Monte Carlo.
"You always feel that you have an advantage with a new car," he said. "I'm not concerned."
Sources within the garage say that Chevrolet has its work cut out for it, as whatever issue plagued the car during the test would most likely mandate a complete reworking of its front end.
The Monte Carlo made its NASCAR debut in May 1971 in the World 600 at what is now called Lowe's Motor Speedway. It has since become the winningest model in NASCAR history, with 380 race victories as part of Chevy's 20 manufacturer's titles.
The current Monte Carlo has won 10 of the season's first 20 points events, and Chevy drivers Jimmie Johnson and Tony Stewart sit 1-2 in the standings.
The production version of the 2006 Monte Carlo SS bears a strong resemblance to the current production model, with minor changes to the styling of the front end – changes which purposefully take their cue from the styling on the nose of its NASCAR cousin. The rear spoiler on the production model is also closely modeled after the NASCAR model.
Although NASCAR's common template rules dictate the styling on the Nextel Cup and Busch Series versions, Chevy designers had an opportunity to make a distinctive mark on their NASCAR vehicle – much like Dodge designers did with the close-to-production-looking grille on the new Charger – but chose not to go that route.
Now just one unveiling remains – Toyota, which has scheduled its mandatory on-track NASCAR test of its Camry for sometime next week at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
* Nine drivers have raced in the Indianapolis 500 and what is now known as the Allstate 400 during their careers: Tony Stewart, John Andretti, Geoff Brabham, A.J. Foyt, Larry Foyt, Robby Gordon, Jason Leffler, Scott Pruett, and Danny Sullivan.
* Surprisingly, Gordon and Stewart are the only drivers with open-wheel backgrounds who have done well at Indy. Ryan Newman, for instance, has only one top 10 finish in four tries.
* Since Gordon has won at the Brickyard 400 four times in 12 tries, the list of winners is relatively short. Dale Jarrett is the only other driver to have won more than once. Jarrett, in fact, is the only driver currently in the top 10 who has ever won at the track.

Rusty Wallace vs Ryan Newman
The teammates still do not get along. That's not exactly right. They don't feud; they just have very little interaction. In marked contrast to the efforts of Roger Penske's teams in other forms of motorsports, the two NASCAR teams go their own way.
This is what I use. It works for me.

Fusion gets high marks in first on-track test
By Dave Rodman, NASCAR.COM
August 3, 2005
10:47 AM EDT (14:47 GMT)
HAMPTON, Ga. -- Dale Jarrett took the 2006 Ford Fusion racecar out for a test drive for the first time Tuesday at Atlanta Motor Speedway. NASCAR officials observed the test as part of the official on-track approval phase for the car that will be Ford's racing model next season.
Chevrolet's new model, the 2006 Monte Carlo SS, was also on track Tuesday, NASCAR spokesman Herb Branham said.
Jarrett got on Atlanta's 1.5-mile high-banked oval at about 1:15 p.m. ET and completed a series of runs in the car that was prepared and fielded at the test by Wood Brothers Racing -- another Ford factory-backed race team.
"I think things went really well," Jarrett said. "I was pleased with the way the new Ford Fusion was as far as the balance entering and exiting the corner.
"It has a very nice look to it and performed well. We were able to achieve the speed that we were looking for and hold on to the speed we needed in a 10-lap run. I was very comfortable in the car."
After its track test, the Fusion racecar was scheduled to go to the Lockheed wind tunnel in Marietta, Ga., for the final stage in NASCAR's approval process.
"It was a pretty straightforward test," Branham said. "By now everyone knows the routine of these types of tests and there are no surprises. It all went according to plan and now it's on to the wind tunnel. Barring anything unforeseen, we expect the approval process to be complete by Sept. 1."
Jarrett was more impressed with the Fusion's performance than that of the Ford Taurus he drove at Atlanta in March.
"I think the biggest thing we fight with the Taurus is if we get enough downforce in the rear to make it to where we can drive at tracks like Atlanta, getting into the corner, then usually we fight a problem of the front end not sticking as good as we need -- it wants to lift up. This car seems to have a better balance about it. That's what we were trying to achieve with the Fusion, and I think we've done that."
Wood Brothers owner Eddie Wood was satisfied with the test's outcome.
"From my standpoint, I just wanted to come down here and run what we were supposed to run without anything happening to the racecar," Wood said. "We brought an extra car (No. 21 Taurus) just in case we needed an oil line or something like that (because) there is no parts truck to go to here, and nobody else to go borrow stuff from."
Wood said Ford used a team approach to get the 2006 prototype built.
"Bernie Marcus (Ford aero expert) and Ben Leslie (Ford NASCAR field manager) did all the development work on the nose and the tail with our 40-percent scale model, and adapted it to the race car," Wood said. "Ford Racing did a really good job.
"They had a timetable to meet and we actually got the car in a couple of weeks ahead of schedule, so we are pretty happy with that.
"We did the last submission car Ford did, and with the Fusion being the new model for next year, it's pretty special."
Greg Specht, operations manager for Ford Racing Technology, was pleased at the end of the track test.
"The day couldn't have gone better, in my opinion," Specht said. "We did the minimum amount of laps that were required to demonstrate the car's capability to NASCAR and it performed flawlessly.
"Of course, we still have to get the car approved by NASCAR, so there was a little bit of concern about today going well. But now the first part of the day is behind us, the car looked good and we got very good feedback from Dale.
"As I said, this part of it couldn't have gone any better."

I went long Lam Research (LRCX) @ 28.30. It struggled and was down most of the day but ended up in the green. MACD histogram is showing positive divergence. Could be a swing trade for next week.

* Five of the past six races have been dominated by one driver. At Pocono, there were only 13 lead changes and almost all of them occurred due to either pit stops or caution flags.
* A seventh-place finish was Tony Stewart's sixth top 10 in a row and elevated him past Greg Biffle into second place in the Nextel Cup points standings.
* Stewart has never won at Indianapolis, and he recently said he'd trade his 2002 Championship for one victory at the only race in his home state.
* Pocono was a setback for both Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt Jr. in their uphill battles to make the Chase. Gordon finished a mediocre 13th, and Earnhardt Jr. was 32nd.
* It's extremely improbable that more than 10 drivers will make the Chase. Only the top seven are within 400 points of the lead.
* Pocono was a notable return to form for Roush Racing, whose drivers finished first, third, and fourth.
* Rusty Wallace's second-place finish was his best of the season. Six of the drivers currently in the top 10 have failed to win a race.

Carl Edwards vs Kasey Kahne
Edwards took the blame for a late crash that relegated Kahne to 27th place in the Pennsylvania 500. "It was an accident," said Edwards, "but it ruined Kasey's day. I screwed up, and he ended up wrecking." "I could've gotten a top-five finish or maybe even a top-four," said Kahne, "but that's the way it goes."
I agree. And I will be watching.
That's good. We will get to watch the trucks at 180+ on the fastest track in NASCAR. Do you know if they use restrictor plates on the trucks at Talledega?
Well at least I have a photo of him if he ever post again.
Who is Monk?

The fans who showed up for the GP of the US are the most loyal F1 fans, and many of them won't show up next year. So if they have a race at Indy next year I would bet they have a very small crowd.
The tires are so thin it's easy to get a flat and cause a wreck when the track's not in good condition.
If this were F-1, drivers would go on strike.
lol. Yes they would sat in the garage all day and watch the Ferraris race each other. I don't watch a lot of F-1, but I watched the Grand Prix of the U.S. a few weeks back. First time I watched a sport shoot itself in the head live on TV. I wonder if they will be back in the U.S. next year? I guess they probably will with a much smaller crowd.
As much as the track owners make it looks like they would keep them repaired. Could be dangerous for the driver.
Would that be Alexander Elder's "Come into my Trading Room." If so I agree Elder is one of the better writers on TA.
