Quasi may have another answer but I would suggest trying two conditions.
[close>open] and [close<open*1.2]

StockCharts' ChartCon in Seattle next week. I am planning to attend, and I think Quasi plans to be there, too. Should be an interesting couple of days.
May bump into a few of you there.
Cush
Thanks Quasi. Good explanation. You're great.
Cush
Same to you lemmy. And to everyone. Have a good one.
Cush
Hi lemmy,
The link to request ticker symbols be added at StockCharts is in the header of that board you linked in your post.
Here it is again.
http://stockcharts.com/help/doku.php?id=support:feedback:symbol_request
That`s the best way to request a ticker be added. It does explain what exchanges are covered.
You can have a conversation here about what should be added, but we are just a group of StockCharts subscribers helping each other out.

Just came in. Most charts and modes seem to be working as usual for me though there was a slight delay getting the auto-refresh working in SharpCharts mode. Seems to be working normally for me now.
Cush
Thanks Malak. I will try to do that later today, or this weekend.
I did a Restore to a week ago, and now everything seems to be working as before. Still don't like it when the unexplainable happens to my computer. I hope whatever that was about that the Restore has banished the problem.
Thanks for the suggestions.
Cush
Thanks Gottfried,
I will try that. Another concern, beyond getting it working again, is whether this was caused by a virus that still lurks.
Cush
Thanks. I have done a couple of reboots, but I will do another when I get back here.
Cush
Hi Guys,
Here's my problem. I am hoping someone here will recognize the issue. I have to go back out so I won't see any responses for a few hours.
This morning, after shutting down over night, when I booted up I could not open Internet Explorer from the Start Menu (it wants to know what I want to open it with) or from the icon on my desk top screen (does nothing when I click on it).
Through a search I found "Launch Internet Explorer Browser" and when it would not open, it offered to "Fix It" and did enable that, so IE opened. Still won't open from Start or Icon though. And won't open "Internet Options" from Tools on the Browser screen.
I have run up-to-date SpyBot - found nothing.
Tried to download AdAware and AVG - neither download worked.
Using Windows XP.
Any suggestions? Does this sound familiar to anyone?
Thanks,
Cush
Hi Dave,
I cannot answer for StockCharts, but I suspect like any business it is always a choice of where to devote limited time, energy, and money. You make some good points and present your thinking clearly. I can see why you like your system. In my case, I do something very similar, but I do it directly with the charts.
This is a great forum to be presenting your ideas. As you orginally said, if enough other people are interested in being able to download that data, and if they contact StockCharts about it then possibly it will move up the priority list.
Well presented. Good luck with it. Hope you will stay around the forum either way. Clear thinking and well expressed ideas are always valuable.
Cush
Hi Dave,
I think this is the right place to discuss this. I am always interested in how other investors use the charts or in this case the data behind the charts to make investment decisions.
You may well inspire others to try some variation of your technique or you may find others here who would find it valuable if StockCharts added this feature.
Thanks for explaining a bit more about it.
Cush
Hi Dave,
Charts for me provide a tool that presents data in a visual format that my brain seems to process well so going back to a spreadsheet of data seems like a step back to me. I take my signals from the indicators built into my charts.
I would like to understand and learn from what you are doing. Could you explain it a bit more?
Thanks,
Cush
Hi Tadaaa,
Nice picture. Someone created a forum for tests just like this.
http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/board.aspx?board_id=107
Cush
Trader, I think you and Quasi will probably figure this out, but if you need more help someone I have always found seems to know what he's talking about is gottfried over on the Computer Help forum.
http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/board.aspx?board_id=470
Good luck. I have been avoiding Java update notices for about a year now.

Hi secwin,
My focus is on my own investments and my reading of the markets.
I believe Chip and the group at StockCharts are very good at what they do and I pretty much leave them to it. I do appreciate their efforts to provide a reliable, useful service.
Cush
Hi Ray - working normally for me - but I wasn't watching 10 minutes ago. Normal at this time.
Cush
Hey Quasi,
Thanks - I've been lurking. And trying to get back into the flow.
Have some ideas that I'll talk to you about soon.
Cush
Hi Guys, just so there is no confusion, as Quasi has said we are all just subscribers and users helping each other here on this forum. Quasi is just a little more helpful than most of us, and I thank him for it.
The forum is working as it should. I created the first of these over on Silicon Investor to help with issues just like these. If you went back and read some of the early posts on that forum you would find that the relationship with StockCharts was not always smooth. (smile)
Over the years, I have developed a lot of respect for the product, the innovations, the education, and the people at StockCharts.
On this forum, we get to help each other with ideas, and when something like an outage occurs we can come here and know whether it is at our end or at their end. I don't like it when their site is down, but I respect Chip Anderson and his crew and I believe they do their best to avoid these situations. Some of the ideas expressed here may be useful to them. So keep the ideas coming, but remember we're all in the same boat.
Thanks everybody for making the forum work.
Let's make some money.
Cush
Hi lifegear,
No need to convince me of anything. I don't follow the pink sheets myself, and I know nothing about where the various charting services source their data.
Good luck with it. Support may be able to help.
Cush
Hi lifegear,
Well, that is a question for support.
However - is this a pink sheets stock? Was it always trading under that symbol?
Yahoo says "Oops! No data available beyond 5 days".
Cush
Hi lifegear,
I have no more contact than other subscribers here on the forum. Regarding today's Jan 1 issue, Ade did the right thing - he reported it.
There are benefits to having a users forum. One of those is the help that we give each other with charting and scanning ideas, and another is knowing when there is an issue like today's that there are other people aware of, and experiencing, the same issue.
Cush
Merry Christmas to everyone!
Wasn't that an exciting year. For the new year, I wish everyone the fortitude to believe in the charts.
Thanks Quasi, for helping me, and for helping so many people here.
Here's to successful trading in 2009.
Cush
I have missed most of the market excitement this week, and the site problem on Wednesday. A lot of charts are looking ugly and unpredictable, but the site seems to be working quite well at this time.
Good luck in these markets, everybody.
Quasi, thanks for all the good input and help you've been providing.
Cush
After all the support and help Quasi has given everyone here, I have asked him to help me with the forum, and he has agreed.
Doesn't change much, but I wanted to acknowledge all the help he has been giving here.
Quasi, thanks for the generosity and good sense you've shown everyone here.
Cush
Mr. Nasdaq, is there some reason you are sharing this info on the StockCharts Support Forum?
Cush
Hi dighouse, there was a StockCharts mailbag note about this some time ago.
http://stockcharts.com/commentary/mailbag/mailbag20001101.html
In that you will find info, plus a link to more info.
Cush
Hi Anchorcheck, as Quasi said, this forum is meant to be about discussion of StockCharts.com related issues. Your post has that and more.
There are probably a number of other forums where you would find the CAX.TO chart would/might create some discussion of the stock, as well as the chart.
If you want to try to generate some interest on one of my old forums, here is a link
http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/board.asp?board_id=1378
There are still about 2 dozen people with that forum bookmarked.
Also, as Quasi mentioned, go with a smaller chart size. It makes it easier for the rest of us to read it.
By the way, CAX has been on and off my radar a few times.
Good luck with it.
Cush
Hi Windsurf3, I don't know about earlier, but at this time I am able to annotate, erase old trend lines and add new ones. It is saving the newly annotated chart, as usual.
Cush
Quasi, I am not around as much as I would like to be these days. For all of us who use this forum, I want to thank you for the help you give so generously. We have been fortunate over the years to have some really helpful people share ideas.
Thanks,
Cush
Hi US$, just coming online myself. Ran some charts. Everything working as usual for me.
Cush
Have not noticed a problem today.
Cush
USDollar, sorry to hear about your problem. Everything is working well for me with my settings and my charts - everything is loading as it should. Scans are working. Annotations are working. Charts are loading.
Support at StockCharts.com has been very good in my experience.
Cush
positiontrader, this is a forum of StockCharts subscribers and users. If you have a problem with data, the place to send your request is to the Support group at StockCharts.com.
Here's the link
http://stockcharts.com/help/doku.php?id=support
You may find an answer to the problem there in the FAQ's. If not click on "send us a question", and on the page that opens fill in the "Sending Feedback" section.
Cush
Everything seems to be working well now, for me. The problem seemed to be intermittent, and those are often hard to diagnose and fix.
Cush
I have reported this as a problem to support at StockCharts.com
Cush
Yes, I am having a problem, too.
Hi Peter, over many years and many forums, the search for good reliable scans continues. If anyone has ever constructed the "perfect" scan, they have probably retired to some south seas island of their own.
I have a bunch of scans that I use. I am usually looking for a scan that will produce 10 to 20 hits. From those I cull the charts that look like aberrations or have a high unpredictable look to them. The ones that are left, I will usually take a quick look at the fundamentals and the sector fundamentals, and the sector chart.
Since I tend to hold for a few weeks to a few months, I will look at both the Weekly charts and the Daily charts for anything I like.
So - what do I scan for.
Well, when I started this I looked primarily for Moving Average crosses. Usually I wanted to see the 20SMA go above the 50SMA, and it was even better if they were both above the 200SMA. In the 90's that seemed to work ok, for me.
For the past number of years, I have been focused on the 20SMA and the DMI lines. I look for stocks that have just had a price cross above the 20SMA and a positive cross of the DMI lines. Sometimes I will scan for one or the other, sometimes for a recent cross of one or the other, usually supported by a previous cross of the other.
I have about 30 some scans, but those are the ones I most frequently use, and the ones that have rewarded me the most.
Cush
Hi ade, I see that in the SharpCharts view. No idea why.
