Yes...in fact it was saved as such in my trade list. It may mean nothing, but...ah who the heck knows.
Anyone notice:

My Schwab trade screen shows GTEM.PK as an invalid symbol
The AMEX hearing was "a kangaroo court"...animals do not speak, they just instinctually act.

You said "that earnings will be delayed for sept Q and they'd have to be taken OFF the exchange in the next few months because of that"
What is your basis and facts regarding such claims?
Khoury is not "a literal stranger". He and his company have had dealings with GTE for a number of years in the development of strategy. I think Khoury is very well versed as to what is going on.

Very Interesting Post by lowtrade on the TA Board.

Those new to the Pink Sheets or OTC:BB should read this.
Have a great weekend folks!
I noticed you have not posted much since 2001 when you created your alias. Why have you suddenly woken up now and started showing interest in this company?
Just asking?
Okay ste123 here is my take.......
I guess you forgot to read your Finance 101 textbook...that companies which are in startup stage should be valuated by Price/Sales.
In that regard I look at the following:
Enterprise Value (13-Oct-06): 27.37M
Revenue (ttm): 87.36M
Revenue Per Share (ttm): 0.957
Qtrly Revenue Growth (yoy): 9.80%
Total Debt (mrq): 57.50K
Improving Picture in:
1. Gross Profit:
PERIOD ENDING 30-Jun-06 31-Mar-06 31-Dec-05 30-Sep-05
Total Revenue 21,629 22,295 21,133 22,300
Cost of Revenue 21,224 22,214 21,273 22,390
Gross Profit 405 81 (140) (91)
2. Increase diversification in revenue mix (had only been a LD reseller until last year) and now:
- Hotzone Wireless (WiMax/DECt/WiFi bundled)
- StratVoIP (presumably profitable per plan; we will see in the 3rd Qtr 10Q)
- Stored Value Cards
- Centerline (traditional LD reselling but now profitable monthly)
- Sanswire (currently in R&D mode)
3. Integrated Strategy between the offerings of the divisions, while allowing each division autonomously to operate and stand each on their own (read the notes to the 10Qs). This strategy was not in place prior to Huff joining GTE and credit to him is due here for this. He brought the vision and brought together the technology pieces.
They now need to get out there and:
- SELL SELL SELL
- Make sure Project Execution is flawless and I would suggest getting in some professional Telco and Aerospace/Defense Project Mgt in place (either as contractors or hires)
- Improve collaboration and communication between the divisions (Khoury has already identified this as a priority)
- Execute proper due dilligence on deals and close them properly. Realize when working overseas that the "corporate culture" is not that of Europe and the US and deals may take more time to close and structure properly to reduce risk for GTE.
- Please please..... do not over commit!
Actually he was posting on our board. He is also the moderator of that board.
That is peanuts
I actually had a conversation earlier this week with Rob Bleckman (I had also once worked on Wall St. for Merrill, CitiCorp, and DTC) and discussed this AMEX business with him. We spoke a bit about our joint experiences working with (and on) Wall St. I believe, that had Rob Bleckman been on board when decisions were being made with regard to moving to the AMEX, I think he would have very strenuously tried to talk management out of it.
risk_it_us you are misleading
- You said "they've scraped the primary model and went with the age-old standard blimp configuration"
you have not seen the detailed blueprints and the background behind the proprietary gas lifting technology so your statements here are valueless and unsubstantiated
- You said: "the strat division needs to be the first to go. It has absolutely no way of producing any revenues whatsoever even in the distant future."
What is you basis for that? Your market analysis please? So I guess if the Strat concept is successful it will not bring benefit to areas of the world which do not yet have (not have the ability because of the harshness of terrain) cell towers? almost 70% of the world's population have never made a phonecall. That is fact. So this would not be welcomed technology and not generate commercial revenues? How about military applications? You are full of it.
- You said: "IMO it'll be the first to go"
It actually is a key part of the SuperHub strategy and Rob Bleckman made it a point to state, as well as Khoury, the new CEO, that these key technologies are critical to moving the company forward.
The reason why GTE did not pursue further appeals is that this would have extended the "quiet period" indefinitely without a guarantee that they would be successful in the end. I would suggest you read MIDE's post from yesterday regarding his conversations with Rob Bleckman on the subject. It is explained...at least to my satisfaction...there.
You have a right to be "pissed" and we all are. I am down on paper as well, and certianly Huff (who holds over 4 M shares) and Caterham (which holds a substantial number of shares) are also down quite a bit.
Rob does not work out of Florida, rather, out of an office in Houston Texas. He does try his best to get back to shareholders emails and phone messages, but it has been extremely challenging for him to keep up, along with his other duties in IR (e.g., preparation and approvals of PRs, Website mgt/updates, etc...) so we all need to cut him a little slack. I know for a fact he is in daily phone contact and conversations with Senior Management and Kostro. Taken together he is very busy. I also understand your concern about communication. I think we will see changes very soon about improvements in that area.
So why are you here Duke? If you are neither LONG nor SHORT what do you care about so much, wasting your good time, to keep posting here and elsewhere regarding GTE?
No you didn't say that Duke.
You admitted yourself, in a prior post, that you were a short seller by the way.
I did not call Rob Bleckman, he has my phone numbers (cell and home) and calls me in response to my emails. If you do not care to believe it then that is your issue. I know for a fact that he is on the phone constantly speaking with other shareholders. He does his very best to be responsive.
We shall soon see. I noticed this quote from the PR
Przemyslaw L. Kostro quoted as saying:
"I will focus on immediate opportunities and working with Senior Management on restructuring the Company in a way that best fits our resources and technologies. I will also focus in the next week on securing the necessary funding to underpin our plans to restructure the Company and complete key projects already underway . Given the nature of the situation, we will be communicating with our shareholders over the next several days and weeks as these changes take place."
- Restructuring (could mean many things)
- Completing projects underway (closed deals with signed contracts?)
- Additional funding (debt or equity?)
News related to these events will be forthcoming we must presume.
Why have they not done so already? Perhaps they would like to recoup a lot more money with having the common shares (converted) rise way above what they paid for them originally. Maybe they see potential?
They need to cover them sometime...question is when this will happen?
I believe (may be mistaken, but at least in 2004 they subscribed for)convertible preferred class B shares. They have a stake in this company for sure.
grashelm the one single dependable thing we can count on
from you is negativity. You bash me now? If you think the company is such a bad investment then why are you wasting so much time posting here? Why do you even care what happens to this company? What interest is it of yours what other LONGs here do with their money?
I think we are all on to your agenda.
I also spoke with Rob Bleckman this afternoon...almost an hour...and I agree with modlam and mide on their impressions. This is a good development for the company at this time IMHO.

Brokers will not allow shorting by individuals. I checked at Schwab and they will not allow it.
Takeover Target?
There is an issue New Market Technology (NMKT) which has been under attack by Naked Shorts for some time. Finally it was announced today:
http://biz.yahoo.com/iw/061011/0171577.html
http://www.investorshub.com/boards/read_msg.asp?message_id=13951399
They have been under attack in a very similar way, and if you look at the amount of bashing on their message boards (24x7) over the past 2-3 years, you will see a similar pattern.
And...the AMEX still show GTE on its Regulation SHO list for 10/11!
http://www.amex.com/amextrader/tradingData/data/RegSHO/daily/AMEXth20061011.txt
I guess the weasles have not covered yet and it is up to AMEX (or the SEC) to enforce the rules.
Interesting Article Regarding Reg SHO with regards to the OTC:BB issues:
http://www.faulkingtruth.com/Articles/Investing101/1016.html
It appears that the systems works much better and more efficiently for issues listed on the OTC:BB and the Pink Sheets, than the major exchanges. Very enlightening.
Sanswire is a wholly owned subsidiary. It is not independent.
I think the AMEX was a loser market to be traded on. They make themselves out to be one of the major exchanges, but quite honestly, issues are leaving them in droves, to list on NASDAQ and NYSE. They do not enforce their own regulations on their member broker/dealer firms (who have massive fails-to-deliver (FTDs), both on and off the DTCC books) yet they beat up on a company like this for spurious reasons.
Thank goodness we are off that manipulative POS called AMEX in 5 minutes.
Actually Level 2 availability for Pink Sheet issues depends on the company, being listed on the Pink Sheets, securing that availability when it has the shares listed.
mr_schnizzle I think most of us share your sentiments. It has been a real hard ride, and make no mistake about it...Tim Huff has a lot invested here too. Both in his own professional name and in his own investment in this company (both monetary and his own hard work). I also believe the professionals working at the various divisions of GTE are also working their butts off to make things happen. It is just as exasperating for them I am sure.
I am holding tight....a small sum of 70,000 shares.
On correction....We trade our last day on AMEX tomorrow.
Actually it is a one-time adjustment and really is not impacting EBITA
shrinkdew...the only factor which gets reported from the P&L to the Balance Sheet is the Net Earnings/Losses which posts as a debit/credit to Retained Earnings.
EBITA from prior years and going forward is not impacted by valuation of assets on the Balance Sheet. Please explain why you would think that.
Thx...Danielle
The daily PPS swings has nothing to do with bankruptcy and insolvency. If such were the case, then businesses who are not publically traded would also, according to such logic, become insolvent. The listing of shares on a major exchange does impact the company's ability to float debentures, securities, and various convertible notes, but it has nothing to do with the state of the firm's P&L, Balance Sheet, nor Cash Flow statements (other than an historical statement of shareholder equity).
For a firm to be bankrupt is a case when debt holders call in loans as a result of late (or non) payment according to terms or covenants or the inability of pay the current operating obligations from cash flow to vendors. I hardly think the company is at such a state, given the improving financials.
Funding is always available, but not at the best terms. If banks and financing syndicates required a firm to have a PPS on a major exchange in order to fund a company, then a majority of American businesses could never operate. I think you are simply mistaken. Lines of credit facilities are available froma multiple of sources and the company's financials, its progress to its business plans, its financial and sales outlooks, and a host of other factors are factored into a decision to fund or loan. The PPS (assuming the company is publically traded) is only one of many factors.
Obviously you have not worked in a Finance function at a company before, or you would realize this simple fact.
