Thanks, as always, for sharing your thoughtful insight.
So...are you thinking north of $25?
Dr. Barbara Murphy, a leading nephrologist who specialized in advanced research that focused on predicting and diagnosing the outcomes of kidney transplants, died on Wednesday at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan, where she had worked since 1997. She was 56.
The cause was glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer, her husband, Peter Fogarty, said.
Good one, Doc.
Correction: Great one, Doc.
In case no one's mentioned it: an article about glioblastoma in the science section of today's NY Times...
I SO hope you're right...I never thought this would still be "hanging fire" in mid-June of 2021. But I also didn't think I'd be wearing a mask for most of 2020.
From Stansberry Venture Technology:
Bean counters at Big Pharma got tired of paying the research costs for so many clinical-trial failures. Instead, the new business model is to let investors take the risk... then Big Pharma steps in to buy the successes.
Fortunately, this means picking the right small firms can lead to huge gains when the takeover happens.
Most small firms have no sales force, and Big Pharma companies have thousands of field reps. So there's a virtuous economic payoff when the big companies and smaller firms get together.
The hard part is finding the successes before the Big Pharma sharks can beat us to them. That's what we specialize in at Stansberry Venture Technology. We use three drug guidelines when recommending a company...
*Minimal side effects. We figure that as long as they're safe, the drugs we back could still be supplemental drugs even if a better treatment is developed in the future.
*Strong positive effects. By that, I simply mean that the drug works and does what doctors need it to do.
*Huge market potential. We like to see treatments that can help hundreds of thousands of people per year, if not millions.
Plus – and this is important – we focus on early-stage clinical trials. These are Phase I and Phase II trials, when researchers have moved past animal testing into treating people with the diseases.
I feel sorry for those who sold at $1.52 this morning.
Would have been nice if Linda had at least told us how many of the "six steps" have been completed.
You haven't "made it" until you sell it.
In the words of Elvis: "Thankyouverymuch."
Perhaps today's price run-up is because of purchases made by people with names like Fields, Kupka and Shukurov who, after an "investigation," determined NWBO is an amazing investment opportunity.
Drawing to an inside straight?
It's clearly time for NWBO management to provide an update. The only excuse not to: If publication is to occur yet this month.
You give me great hope.
I bought more at $1.39. Feel good about it.
Keen observation.
An honest, forthright declaration NWBO management should pay attention to because it reflects concern of many, I believe, long-time shareholders.
Nicely and, I believe, accurately and appropriately said.
There's a reason the word "surprise" exists.
Thanks, incline.
So, Doc logic, what do you believe would be a reasonable buyout price today?
Wondering whether Merck dropping development of its two covid vaccines will have an impact on its acquisition attitude...
You are correct.
I believe Biden's choice of Dr. David Kessler to head the
FDA is very good news, indeed.
These first two sentences from a story in today's NY Times reflect how lack of broad scientific confirmation detracts from a study's credibility:
"In a small clinical trial, an experimental Alzheimer’s drug slowed the rate at which patients lost the ability to think and care for themselves, the drug maker Eli Lilly announced on Monday. The findings have not been published in any form, and not been widely reviewed by other researchers."
Wouldn't that be something! Let me re-phrase that: That would be something!
Speculation thrives in a vacuum. Investors who frequent this board have been reasonably expecting TLD for weeks now, based on the company's own pronouncements. Those results have not been forthcoming, so an investor relations professional should not be surprised (nor express revulsion) when guesswork, hearsay and conjecture dominate the conversation here. My own inquiry of him went unanswered. Yes, I'm trying to be patient. But, truth is, I've been relatively patient for something like six years. Every morning now I open my laptop, thinking this might be the day I'll discover favorable news--not just for my portfolio, but for the many people who suffer from a dreaded disease. Communications is not NWBO's strong point.
If (and when) it has outstanding research results to report, I sincerely hope it has its communications/marketing act together.
Thank you for sharing.
And I was kind of hoping I'd sleep well tonight.
Management should read your thoughts. And then read them again.
Thank you, Doc, for sharing your knowledge and expertise. I've been following you for a long time and, like others, read each of your posts.
Here's a question for you that draws on both your scientific knowledge and investment acumen: On a scale of zero to 100 (with zero being absolutely no chance and 100 representing absolute certitude), where do you currently rate NWBO's chance of producing a game-changing treatment for cancer and subsequent financial success for its shareholders?
Agree. One hundred percent.
Let's add in extraordinary interest in news about a cancer cure on the part of major news media outlets wanting badly to serve their readers, viewers and listeners who are so ready for some good news and so ready for something other than election news.
If TLD is really good (and I truly hope and believe it will be), the news should be released when it won't be smothered by election results. I want to see the story on the front pages of the nation's major newspapers and on every nightly newscast.
Very well said and explained. Thank you.
I bought more at 99 cents today...feeling pretty good about it right now.
I did exactly the same thing at $1.99, but I think I'll not let go of another 15 percent until we're well into the $4 range.
Literally any day now. More likely a couple weeks away.
I think we're about two weeks away.
