My ameritrade last sale screen shows no 200K like yours. Also, no volume increase to match.
Kevin
Thanks nilremerlin, so September was 4,510,887 shares and October is 4,682,838 shares an increase of 171,951 shares.
I am surprised that our short numbers actually went up. I had fully expected the short interest to drop by a large number.
Kevin
Thanks nerd86, anyone have the short numbers from Sept. Since GTE is no longer valid I can't use my normal sources and would like to compare month to month.
TIA
Kevin
I am wondering if the shares were really covered on the AMEX short list.
We were still on there as GTE, but with GTE gone did they just remove us from the AMEX list.
Then did the cycle start fresh for the Nasdaq short list as GTEM.
Not an expert on this, just throwing out a thought.
Kevin
Rocky - from your post If they accept the pilot, the agreement calls for the deployment of the technology throughout Mexico
If the reports are true that the final test last week went very well, then things could be starting to make a turn for the better. Only time will tell, but I sure hope so. We could all use some really good news (well all true longs could).
Thanks for your post, and don't be a stranger:)

Stratellite first structural float test
from Aero Gizmo (266 articles)
October 20, 2006 Sanswire’s vision for mass deployment of its specialized Stratellite airship have moved a step closer when its Sanswire 2A technology demonstrator completed its first outdoor, low altitude, float test. The company’s concept of placing a communications platform into the stratosphere can fundamentally change how the world delivers wireless telecommunications, and the way we communicate. Advances in composite structures, photovoltaics, man-made fabrics, electric motors and energy storage technologies have propelled today’s stratellite far above the great, rigid airships of the early 20th century from which it is descendent, and have put the near-space altitude of 65,000 feet within reach. The solar-powered Stratellite is an advanced rigid composite lighter-than-air vehicle designed to operate either as an unmanned autonomous or remotely piloted system at stratospheric altitudes in geostationary locations. Due to their operating altitudes of 12-13 miles from earth, as opposed to satellites that operate from a distant 22,000 miles away, Stratellites can provide a superior and fully reclaimable method for operating advanced wireless communications and monitoring services. With payload capacities measured in tons, and the ability to return to its base station on command, the Stratellite provides a cost-effective delivery system for broadband voice, data and video services, reducing reliance on “near real time” capabilities of satellites and the slow download speeds of copper based terrestrial networks.
During the first float, the structural integrity and overall balance of the airship were tested in uncontrolled atmospheric conditions.
Sanswire expects to test the airship over a period of at least 90 days. The testing will be performed to evaluate the entire integrated airship system. The first test of the structural loads and lifting qualities has been completed and will soon be followed by further airframe tests to ensure airship readiness for a dynamic flight environment. Upon installation of the avionics suite and propulsion system, a series of low altitude tethered tests and then, a series of high altitude tests will take place. At each stage of testing, Sanswire’s engineers will evaluate the airship’s flight qualities to determine if the airship is working within its design parameters. Throughout the systems testing data will be analyzed to qualify the airship design, with redesign accomplished as needed.
The Company intends to announce the completion of each test stage, and following the completion of the low-altitude tethered flights, free-flight tests at the Air Force Test Range at Edwards Air Force Base will ensue. Sanswire is preparing to file provisional patents covering the intellectual property associated with the airship.
“The results of our first float test are encouraging,” stated Doug Murch, Lead Engineer for the project. “The combined rigid hull/envelope structure behaved according to design resulting in a successful test during its first float outside of our hangar. Our primary test objectives were focused on the newly designed empennage, or fin/rudder system, in order to gain additional insight into the airship’s structural and load bearing qualities in the open air. The resulting test data will be invaluable in order to prepare for our series of flight tests.”
Thanks Jim, Seems like we were both typing at same time.

Investor page up, does not appear to be changed EOM Kevin
I just called Globetel and ask if web was down. She said:
"It could be, they are probably working on it. I know there were two press releases that just went out. So they are probably working on it."
I'm not sure if she is refering to the Chairman NR and the Sanswire NR or new ones, but I we will see soon.
Kevin
Interesting, I tried to go to the PR Page from Globetel web site http://www.globetel.net/ and I get this:
"The page you have requested is temporarily unavailable.
We're sorry. Thomson Financial is currently experiencing technical difficulties at the moment. All efforts are being made to restore sites as quickly as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Please try again soon."
http://phx.corporate-ir.net/sorry_page/sorry_unavailable.htm
I don't know the answer to this, but does Ron Bleckman work for Thompson Financial or does he use them for hosting his IR page?

"Sanswire is preparing to file provisional patents covering the intellectual property associated with the airship"
I see this as a nice change. Shows we have something worth protecting.
Kevin
Nothing exciting, but I found the Quick start guide for the Globetelx products.
http://www.thevoipconnection.com/Downloads/Globetel/IAD_Quick_Start.pdf
Like I said, not too exciting, but may pass the time until GTEM gives us something to chew on.
Kevin
Now I see trades. Maybe they all took a long lunch on us. LOL
Kevin
Anyone seen any trades in the last 30 min?
TIA
Kevin
This may have already been addressed but anyone notice GTE is still on the AMEX naked short list as of today.
http://www.amex.com/amextrader/tradingData/data/RegSHO/daily/AMEXth20061012.txt
Any thoughts
Kevin
Refresh my memory. How do we know the Mexico pilot was completed September 30th?
TIA
Kevin
I should hope you would call it. Thay is why in the first post I recommended everyone call and I did not reiterate anything from it until ask for more information.
Kevin
I agree, nice he has a voice message up.
I did have to chuckle a bit. I work for GM and I can't count the times we have been investigated by the SEC. I believe there is an investigation into GM's retirement account valuation right now.
Kevin
To give an accurate description I would have to call and listen a couple more times, but what I took out of it is GTE is disappointed with AMEX decision. They are also going over books and said they were told by the SEC that an investigation does not mean any Federal laws have been broken, but if there are any descrepiancy in books they may have to restate valuations over last 2 years.
Also, said we have been able to maintain our business partnerships through all this and that the company was still moving forward with business plans.
Like I said, not exact, but as close as I can remember. If someone can record and post a link that would be great.
Thanks
Kevin
I just called Bleckman. He did not answer, but has a message up on his answering service about the delisting and SEC investigation. I recommend you call and listen.

It appears they have added more interconnections to the network since I last looked at the picture of the world on the superhub page. Maybe I am wrong, but sure seems to be more. Africa, Japan, Spain, and more?

I saved the background as a picture so I can match in the future.
Kevin
I believe it was talked about by Huff during the shareholder meeting broadcast.
Down for me also. Lets hope for update and a good news release to go with it.

Blue Horizon and Globetel bid on Sacramento
City lures four Wi-Fi proposals
Giants of networking will compete to build system for capital.
Some high-tech and telecom industry heavyweights -- including AT&T, Cisco and Intel -- are among the four groups of bidders that submitted proposals to blanket Sacramento with wireless Internet service, a city official said Monday.
http://www.sacbee.com/103/story/32877.html
The proposals were received Friday and a panel of local government and education officials will gather Wednesday to begin evaluating the bids, said Stephen Ferguson, Sacramento's chief information officer.
Among the companies bidding on the project are partnerships that include AT&T Inc., Intel Corp., IBM, Nortel Networks Corp. and Cisco Systems Inc.
Ferguson said he is pleased with the caliber of bidders, but doesn't anticipate a perfect offer. "We aren't expecting any of them to meet every term and condition" in our proposal request, he said.
Among the city's requirements: construction of the system at no cost to the public, free unlimited Wi-Fi connections at 300 kilobits per second or faster, free service for city government use at 1 megabit per second or faster, and coverage of 95 percent of the city's 100 square miles within two years.
After the committee evaluates the proposals, they will be ranked and submitted to the Sacramento City Council. If the council is satisfied with the leading candidate, Ferguson will begin final contract negotiations. A final contract could be approved in December with construction starting 30 to 45 days later.
Service in the downtown area could go live within three months of the contract's approval, said Thanh Vo, the city's Wi-Fi project manager. The entire city could be covered within two years.
Perhaps the most star-studded bid comes from a group calling itself Sacramento Metro Connect. It includes IBM, Cisco, Intel, SeaKay Inc. and AzulStar Inc. That group, minus Intel and operating under the name Silicon Valley Metro Connect, recently won a contract to build a major Wi-Fi network covering 1,500 square miles of Silicon Valley with access to 2.4 million residents.
Another partnership -- AT&T and MetroFi Inc. -- also is in the running. Telecommunications giant AT&T has thousands of DSL broadband customers in the Sacramento area, while MetroFi runs wireless networks in three Silicon Valley cities and recently won a contract for a similar system in Portland, Ore.
Two other groups -- both unsuccessful bidders in the 1,500-square-mile Silicon Valley project -- also submitted proposals:
• A partnership formed by Ubiquity Broadband Communications, Fire2Wire and Nortel Networks;
• A partnership of Blue Horizon Group Inc. and Globetel Communications LLC.
This is the second effort by Sacramento to establish a citywide Wi-Fi network. Earlier this year, a Maryland-based company called MobilePro Inc. had an agreement to build such a system, but it withdrew from the deal in June after the city added new requirements, such as free, unlimited Wi-Fi for all users.
WIDD - I'm still long, but with more shares now. Hope the delisting issue is cleared up soon, one way or the other.
Kevin
Show me a form 4 with Lynch selling any shares. There are form 144's which Lynch has filed, this does not mean he has sold only that he can. If he does, then a form 4 must be filed.

Thanks Mide
WD-40 I believe the short conversation should be on the other board, but I will give my opinion.
IMO - the institutions have sold alot of their shares since the AMEX announcement which leaves the shorts without shares to borrow.
The September short numbers did not drop much which leads me to believe the shorts have not covered as fast as it appears the institutions have sold.
This of course causes the price to be even lower than if the shorts had been covering as the institutions sold.
Which reminds me to say thanks to the shorts and institutions for letting me add more cheap shares! I still believe GTE is a good investment and have been voting by buying more shares.
Kevin
I almost forgot about hotzone 5000 until I was reviewing the June 16, 2006 news release titled "Pace Accelerates for GlobeTel Wireless Pilot Testing Worldwide"
I supposed that no matter which way the AMEX hearing goes, it make sense to wait to release a product like this. So I don't expect to hear anything until the delisting issue is decided.
From the release:
For example, our newest wireless technology advance, the HotZone 5000, currently scheduled for launch at the end of the third quarter 2006, will incorporate over 1,000 channels of wireless IPTV
Kevin
So if China knocks out our satellites with lasers.
1. How long to replace them in a time of war?
2. What is the cost to replace?
3. Is there a quicker cheaper alternative to replace critical commumication and survelance satellites?

http://www.rockyinfo.com/message_board2.htm
If someone has time to move info over here please feel free!
Is the AMEX concerned about GTE shareholders or the shareholders at the: (Choose one)
1. Telecom companies
2. Satellite makers
3. Phone companies
4. Cable TV providers
5. Satellite TV providers
6. Satellite Radio providers
7. Cell tower hardware manufactures
8. All of the above
Sorry can't help myself. The AMEX would say that NR would be over promotional.
Because saying "we are unable to update at this time" implies GTE will be able to update in the future.
"Please be assured” The AMEX would say nothing is assured.
"progressing as planned" The AMEX claims GTE’s plans are fabrications, so how can something that does not exist progress?
"update our shareholders ASAP" The AMEX would say we will see about that.
Just having a little fun
Kevin
Still long and strong with more shares now:)
