I'm more concerned about some of the people who post messages here than with the company. Randall comes to mind immediately as someone who was just a "little bit off".
To figure out what is going on just look at the bid/ask prices. If the quote is three or four decimal places, it is the work of MM's and programmed trading. Computers have no heart, they only look at profits by either buying or selling.
Short traders will never let this stock go without a fight. Look for a short squeeze with the next big PR.

Right now there is a short fan trying to decide whether this run up is done.
We can expect the next big SEC filing to be the 10-K within the next 5 weeks. For sure that will happen before the Charlotte meeting thus insuring a plentiful amount of new information to be discussed.
From what I have read, there are two main suspicions about the cause of EMS in shrimp: overcrowding in the grow-out tanks causing parasites or inbreeding of the brood-stock. It could also be a combination or something else entirely.
My guess is that SIAF hasn't seen a problem because of the filtration of the tanks and control of their own brood-stock.
It's all about liquidity. Some MM's have to build a supply on hand to meet any demand.
The MM's will let the price run after they have loaded up.

mega projects in China [2014-03-04 15:22]
SIAF releasade the fourth since the leadership position in the start of a mega project in shrimp farming in Zhongsan City (Guangdong Province)
Not to numbers and text will get an incorrect translation JF ask all readers to read the original release on http://prn.to/1mSmQHT (PR Newswire) or on the company website.
This is huge event for the company which now goes from being farm-technology demonstrators to high tech helorganisk 100% eco-perfect production line in mega-scale of products (in this case shrimp) otherwise associated pollution of various kinds; entirely indoors in drinking pure fast circulating / purified water (see old picture where JF light of the current water).
I don't care what their mailing address is as long as the checks arrive in a timely fashion and there are sufficient funds in the account.
I don't have that problem. Why don't you do it yourself?

Viking. Exactly what I had in mind. I like your refinements. Also, I like the idea of the double reverse.
My intention was to state that SIAF would create the terms of any reverse merger and that the bought out company would essentially disappear. The idea is to buy the exchange listing but keep SIAF intact.
Here is a novel plan for uplisting.
In place of more dilution make an all stock buyout offer to an existing NASDAQ company to acquire their listing and do the merger. There has to be an undervalued or failing Asian listed Nas company available. After the merger, they sell off whatever parts of the acquired company don't fit the business model to pay for the deal. This would totally bypass the S-1 process and probably be cheaper and faster in the long run.
New pictures from the factory have been posted at Plandai's web site.

It's going to be three months before there is any new information about earnings. Everything about the stock price between now and then is purely based on sentiment, expectations, and speculation.
My advice is to take a position now on price dips and ride out the rollercoaster. Relax, nothing about the stock price is based on solid information. IMO, the earnings will be apparent by the end of this year, not next week.
Those Form 3's from the new BOD are from their holdings before they were named to the BOD.

"The Operating Leverage: The Company has significant operating leverage due to its structure. Essentially, it costs PLPL $100/kg to produce BioTea? and they will sell it for an average cost of $500/kg. We would not be surprised to see major food and other conglomerates eventually pay UP for the product.

Opinion:
The mark-up is substantial for all of the companies extracts. First year production of tea extract is estimated to be 60 tons.
I agree 100% with your thinking about what drives the PPS. However, I look at this situation in an entirely different way. Plandai is trying to break into more than 6 billion dollar markets (malaria, brain disease/trauma, marijuana, diabetes, cold & flu, weight loss, and more). If they can grab a percentage of one or more of these, they will be more than successful. A good bet the way I see it. The announcement that they had commitments for their entire production of the lemon extract indicates to me that the market share is there for the taking
An SEC filing was made this afternoon saying that the 10-Q for the quarter ended Dec 31, 2013 will be filed late. They have an additional 15 days to make the filing.
I would guess that it will be filed sometime next week. Anyway, it won't contain all the latest developments, so it shouldn't have any effect on trading.

Steps for PLPL to create shareholder value:
1. Hire an experienced CFO.
2. Appoint 3 or more independent BOD members.
3. Uplist to NASDAQ.
4. File an S-1 with SEC for additional share sales to go along with the uplist so that institutions could get a reasonable amount of shares at a set price which would be like an IPO.
This should all be done this summer. It would guarantee a share price north of $10
Not only a new technology but product diversification. Actually, they can process any vegetable or fruit for their extracts. In ten years, this may be a multi-billion dollar company. Also, a great buy-out candidate by the big pharma companies at a gigantic premium.

An independent study by third parties of the anti-malarial properties of green tea extract.
http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1383576913001190
The green tea extract has 100 times the market potential of any of the other possible extracts the company could produce. Each year there are 500,000,000 people worldwide who contract malaria. If this extract is effective against the malaria parasite, this alone would be a multi-billion dollar market.
Hedge funds with program trading have the wherewithal to accomplish what we are seeing here.
To me, it looks like we are settling into a trading range between $1.35 and $1.70 for the time being. Watch how many times we will make the round trip in this range.
Absolutely agree. If I had to guess, I would say that future revenues for PLPL will come 75% from green tea extracts, 15% from other types such as lemon, and 10% from marijuana. The other companies in the mj sector are depending 100% on mj. I'm happy with the direction this company is taking.
Just an idea about the new Swedish subsidiary. Is this the part of the company that will eventually be listed on the FN exchange? This year they build it into a viable business entity with dealings in import/export, possible JV's with a European prawn farm, etc and then they spin it off to the exchange.
The Shenkman Fund looks like a perfect match for what SIAF is offering in a bond.
Only 904,000 shares sold short today. I wonder how many of those belong to biff.

SINO AGRO FOOD makes top - signings [ 2014-02-10 18:32 ]
SIAF releasar today before opening to the Board expanded with two independent members , which in substance means that more than 50% of the Board are "independent " (not on the payroll ) , and thus satisfies one Nasdaq's requirements for the Board. Left of significance to arrange a share price over $ 3 USD ( over some time ) , which can ordnzs md in several ways - one is that you are putting together a number of old shares , reverse- split ( reverse split).
The new Board is in DAN RITCHEY , an expert on all the formalities within the United States Regarding exchange, flagging , notes, etc + he's big farmers in the beef cattle and pigs in the U.S..
" ANTHONY " SOH , is big palm oil producers in Malaysia and co-owner and works in a välrenommererad legal firm in Malaysia, well versed in various farm solutions in Southeast Asia.
Both feel SIAF long time and both have been in Stockholm wise company visits as " experts" in the respective areas .
OVERALL : provides JF sharply GREEN LIGHT for both. Strong skills to out here this rapidly growing company in the food quality in China, organic good food always produced organically in full
Aside from several inaccuracies in that rant, no problem.
Purchase of shares at market rates is fair. I posted in the past that a PIPE financing arrangement was inevitable and this accomplishes that need.
Finances were the last piece of the puzzle to put into place for this company to move forward. The way I interpret this PR, Lincoln Park has secured their place in line to get first dibs on any future share issue.
To the question about where are the revenues.
This is an early stage start-up. During the last quarter, the final steps were taken to build their processing plant. The current quarter will see the first products rolling out and sales commencing. IMO, the revenues will ramp up throughout this year.
The first revenues will come from the green tea and lemon extracts they create from the harvests on their own plantation in South Africa. Products from marijuana extracts will be later and the processing for that will probably be done in Washington state. Sales agreements are already in place with distributors in Europe, North America and South Africa.
In all your calculations you are forgetting the three year backlog that the consulting function has developed from the restaurant and specialty products stores that are in the works.
I also used a stock screener to find SIAF. The one I used allows the entering of certain criteria to limit the number of choices. I basically looked for profitable companies with extremely low PE ratios.
The short trading amount seems to between 30% and 40% every day for the past two weeks. Any news will see a share prize rise from a short squeeze.
Could this be the partner for the mega deal?
