Totally disgusted with that mess and a host of others from this admin. A little off topic, but someone please explain to me why in some states I could be jailed for possessing some "pain go bye bye herb" but total treason gets swept under the rug.
Good idea to ask Dave! I was leaning toward plasma for quite awhile, but Dave has done some extensive research on changes and what's latest and greatest.
redesign my entire living room for it and frankly most of the stuff on TV is shit!
Agreed! I am eating way too much of it too! LOL
fwiw I am mostly watching Bill Moyer, Lehrer, BBC America (check it out if you have it on your cable - they have news and comments that you definitely WILL NOT hear anywhere on US news reports anywhere - AND its dedicated to American news items), Bill Maher, some Fox News for laughs, Survival (guilty pleasure)football, tennis and Family Guy.
We added a room off the master bd that was going to be an office. It turned out so nice, that we moved the bedroom furniture in the new room and are slowing turning in the old master bd into a media/music room.
Let's see what prices 2008 brings on a new LCD flatscreen!
Thanks! Yes, thank goodness, no one was hurt - just my favorite old Jeep. LOL
Two of the best football games in a long time IMO - The Hawaii Warrior win over the Huskies. (had mixed feelings over that because I was a Huskie fan when I lived in Seattle) The other great game was the last Patriots game. On the surface it looked like Tom Brady and co. had no way to pull off a win, and yet they did! There was a lot of noise at our place during those games~
Good advice from Dave on the big screens! And yes, when I go to the beach, I am dazzled by the pretty water..... : )
I know what you mean about justifying buying a "luxury" item when you have other projects vying for money and attention. Enjoy your new TOY - the rest will get taken care of eventually.
My son crashed the Jeep we let him use for work. We won't see a dime because of the insurance coverage we had on it - so basically he is biking it to work until he comes up with some cash. I'll probably kick in some, but in the meantime we have one car between three adults. Not making for a very joyous season around here! LOL
Seems like everytime we go to Costco there are showing football highlights. Somehow my wife has become a huge football fan over the past couple of years. That should help me close the deal on getting the big screen even though there are plenty of other things screaming for attention and money!LOL
Babes and beaches - you know I have no problem with that : )
I've been eying a Costco 50" big screen for about a year. The price of a 58" (around $2200) is what the 50 was a few months back. Might just wait until after xmas and see if they knock the price down even more.
Happy Holidays and smart shopping to all!
Nasty here too. Two days of high winds, driving rain, thunder and lightning. Flooded roads, mudslides in Kula - AND the best part - no power for most of the past two days.
Power just came on a couple of minutes ago. It's been an adventure. Feel sorry for the tourista's.
ROFL!!!!!!!!
My son found these pictures of the town north of Seattle where we used to live by googling Woodinville Washington.
Knew it was bad, but this is crazy!

burn -thanks for the updates -keep 'em coming. Still hopeful, but way down. Hope was about all I had left until we started hearing these rumblings.
GLTA
Ya!!! Rainy weekends in Seattle are made for visiting Red Hook and the wineries in Woodinville.
LOL - even though its raining here, its still 70 degrees. Yep, glad to be somewhere else during the months of gloom in Seattle. But, wouldn't mind having the ski slopes a bit closer. This year may be HUGE for skiers!
Good day for soup and grilled cheese sandwiches!
Yikes! Been watching the coverage on the news. Fwiw - its been raining here for the past 3-4 days, but nothing like you folks are experiencing. Hope you get some relief soon and dry out soon!!
True..true..
It's a shame, but looks like its a sham. IMHO
GLTA
True..True!
Now I am waiting/hoping for some dirt/scandal on this monstrosity:
Rev Hagee - how many of your family will be enlisting in the GWB's military to save Israel?
Wack job!! all IMHO : )
ROFL!! Been doing a little drinking myself this rainy PM. Took me a minute to realize that my brain was misreading your post. Too funny bro!
PS - O/T Congratulations - US wins 2007 Davis Cup
AND
Congrats to UH Warriors (defeated the Huskies in one of the best college football games I have ever seen) - going to the Sugar Bowl!!
LOL - what a hypocrite!
MR. RUSSERT: Larry Craig, would you want the last word from the Senate be an acquittal of the president and no censure?
SEN. CRAIG: Well, I don't know where the Senate's going to be on that issue of an up or down vote on impeachment, but I will tell you that the Senate certainly can bring about a censure resolution and it's a slap on the wrist. It's a, "Bad boy, Bill Clinton. You're a naughty boy." The American people already know that Bill Clinton is a bad boy, a naughty boy.
I'm going to speak out for the citizens of my state, who in the majority think that Bill Clinton is probably even a nasty, bad, naughty boy. The question issue now is simply this: Did he lie under oath? Did he perjure himself and did he obstruct justice? And that's where we're trying to go now in this truth-seeking process.
Obstructing justice? How's that working for ya Larry?
Have a great time in Vegas you sinner you! GWB and I will pray for you to see the error of your ways! ; )
It slowly destoys faith in other people
Yep - my usual happy/optimistic self has been pretty much ruined by the lyin' bastids we throw money at here in pinkyville.
Best to you as well.
Joe if Mitt wins I'm leaving with your wife!
Am I invited or are you converting and stealing her away? LOL
Seriously, things are getting so insane that my usual happy/optimistic outlook on life is slowly dying
That looks like me after 3 days of yardwork during the T-day holiday. ; )
LOL - I was thinking the same thing. CNN is now confirming that one of the questions was posed by a Clinton supporter. So what - if the question is valid, I don't care where it comes from ,but some of the questions were just ridiculous and a waste of time.
McCann, Romney, Guiliani and the other hawks really scare me. Ron Paul, and occasionally Huckabee struck a nerve - but I would not vote for them either.
My wife says that if Romney is elected we are moving out of country - maybe Costa Rica.
I am not ready to leave Maui anytime soon, so PLEASE, Dem's get busy!!! LOL
Well, I guess this post is somewhat auto related.
I gave my son my 1991 Cherokee to use for work, trips to the beach and regular running around.
Last Saturday he was hit head on by a rental car driving tourist. Fortunately, no one was hurt, but the front end of the Jeep is crunched in about 8 inches, radiator trashed, but surprisingly the engine still runs -albeit very roughly.
The bluebook value is less than $1500 so I did not carry collision insurance - just the bare minimum.
My insurance (State Farm) says they are not obligated to take a look at my car because I am not covered for collision. However, they will take information from the other driver and coordinate things with the rental car insurance carrier.
I have not seen the police report yet, but my son says the officer saw the accident, said the other driver hit him and is basically at fault.
Anyone have any ideas on how this will play out? IF it is determined it was the fault of the other driver, will his or the rental car insurance pay me for repairs, or if a total loss ,replacement value -or am I screwed?
I have been dropping him off at work so far this week, but can't do it on a regular basis. A friend of my son loaned him a mountain bike to get to work. Looks like his legs and lungs will be getting a good work out for awhile. : )
Pissed, because I really liked that old Jeep. Now it's a POS!!!

fwiw, that's the product I put into my Cherokee. So far so good, no idling problems.
Yep, one of the few downsides to living here. I try to make a mainland shopping list whenever I have to travel off island!
Had to replace the fuel pump on my 1991 Cherokee awhile back. They didn't have the part here on Maui, so I ordered it - AND they sent the wrong pump on the first try. Two weeks later got what I needed and had it up and running.
Thanks again for all the replies!
Very good! I'm off to Napa autoparts to try the simple cure first.
Thanks again - will give it a try!
Simple first is definitely a good idea - thanks!
Are we talking good ol' STP fuel additive or do you have another additive brand that you would recommend?
I thought I-HUB would have a board for discussion, Q & A about cars!
Back in the day, I rebuilt a 1966 VW Bug (with a little help from How to Keep Your Volkswagen Alive - A Manual of Step-by-Step Procedures for the Compleat Idiot) but admittedly, I know very little and have done minimal work on my "newer" cars.
Maybe someone can help explain this situation:
I have a 1998 Jeep Grand cherokee - 6 cyl, auto trans with 74K miles. Regular oil changes, and dealer maintenance while it was still under warranty. I just did a mini-tune - new rotor, cap, plugs and wires, air filter etc.
Twice in the last week when first starting up, engine does not want to idle without me hitting the gas pedal - dies within a couple of seconds of starting.
The only way I was able to keep it from dying was to start it in Nuetral, rev the engine a little while slipping the shift into Reverse. NOT FUN! Once in reverse or drive, it idles normally. Days will go by where it runs and idles great, then voila - next morning a problemo.
Any ideas? Basically, I don't have the space or tools to do much work myself now, so I am looking for possible reasons that I can present to a mechanic or dealer. In other words, I want to sound like I have a clue so I don't get taken advantage of!!!
I found these possible reasons on-line at Wiki-Answers:
Your throttle body is probably dirty. What happens over a period of time is the Throttle body gets clogged with carbon and cannot breath at idle, the throttle plate when close(at idle)has a very small air gap and can't breath when dirty. If this does not cure your problem, then you will need to consider having your ais motor check.ais= automatic idle speed motor. For this you will have to take the throttle body off to replace it and the screws have been installed with locktight and are tricky to get out.Hope this helps,I did not know what year or make of car,But its a common problem since the fuel injectors took the place of the carburators.
and another post said:
My 97 Jeep Grand Cherokee would run fine whenever I would accelerate, but once I took my foot off the gas, the RPMs would drop to zero and stall. Sometimes it would drop to zero than catch idle out low, but stall again later. I got a $300 tune up that did nothing. The problem turned out to be my IAC motor, or the Idle Air Control Valve which sold for $80 at the dealership ($30 at Autozone). If your car is doing this, replace this part! It would also stall whenever I took a turn slowly or tried to pull into a parking spot. end quote
Sooooooooo, I am thinking clogged throttle body, or IAC motor?
Thanks in advance for any ideas or suggestions.
Mornin' everyone! Fortunately no tsunami danger here in the islands from the big quake in Chile.
And now for something completely different - the recipe for my new cocktail creation, the "Pomcheerini"
Basically a combo of pom (pomegranate juice)
chee for lychee liquer, and
a little "ini" for vodka martini
Mix two parts pomegranate
one part vodka (or is it the other way around)
tablespoon or so of SOHO LYCHEE LIQUEUR
teaspoon of lime juice
ice
shake
and voila - something delicious happens!
Cheers
When are they going to issue a dividend and how long will sales be restricted?
; ) j/k
ROFL!! Too funny! I think this little car can be set to "rough idle" if one is so inclined. ; )
Here ya go;
http://www.smartcarofamerica.com/
Smart is a subsidiary of Mercedes-Benz, so about two-thirds of the dealerships are Mercedes affiliated. Most Smart Centers as they have coined them will be a store within a store where each dealer has a walled-off Smart showroom complete with its own entrance.
LOL - I think the big wind up key is visible from the other side of the car.
Cool! Safe travels. You should be able to find that condo along PCH somewhere for about 40% less than last year! ; )
If they ever come out with a bio diesel version of this thing, I might just buy one - especially if somebody comes up with a surf board rack for it! LOL
LOL - now that's a scary picture/thought!
Aloha bro!
LOL!!! Can't recall, did madame Chancellor visit him at the Texas ranch before or after this incident?
