The remodel is coming along to conclusion. Today the East European guys are installing the backsplash tile. These guys are artist with tile. Unbelievable. They inlaid some granite pieces around the Italian ceramic tile and also inlaid some southwestern themed tiles we had engraved. Be glad you only paid $500 for the bathroom. We just had 3 bathrooms, hallway, entrance area, dining room, kitchen and family room tiled. Plus, the kitchen had the tile backsplash. Isn't it a good thing we made all that money shorting AMEP?? LOL Next project up is the remodel of the Arizona Room. Carpeting for the bedrooms and living room arrives Monday. I'm getting tired of it but I won't stop until it's done.

ichjw...the windows have a lifetime guarantee and were installed by a very reputable company. I did a lot of research on the windows AND company installing them.

ichjw...we also live in Phoenix and just replaced our windows, except for the Arizona Room which we plan on remodeling. We had ours installed by Republic West. We really like our windows. After much research, we decided to go with low E double pane argon filled vinyl windows. Since we've only been in this house since the end of July it's hard to tell the money savings. We have noticed a much reduced noise level. Thanks for the information.

Contractor, yes, I agree that learning from others is important. By the way, most glass replacements here in the West are now at least two panes of glass. Keeping in the cool A/C air in summer is as important or more important than keeping out the cold in winter.

contractor....thanks for putting aside our AMEP disagreement to speak to my construction project. The C-Thru system was recommended by the supervisor of my kitchen project. He said it's a quality system and a good value for the money. I don't have to worry about overhead sunlight because I'm keeping the current roof in place and our exposure is to the north. We get little direct sunlight coming in through the windows even in the summer. Just a bit in the morning. Thank goodness. We do plan on using the most efficient glass available to prevent heating and cooling loss. Asking previous customers about their experiences with the system and contractor is a wise suggestion. Thanks

contractor...I have two appointments with contractors next week to discuss the Arizona Room remodel. Have you ever heard of a product called C-Thru? Several of the contractors seem to use this system.

Any company that owes money to the IRS and keeps that debt on the books this long is in desperate straights. It's just not believable that they would spend money on painting a rig that is going to get filthy dirty anyway instead of using that money to pay off the IRS debt. Makes NO sense at all. Something still stinks about this company, in my opinion.
