Mantra Signs Technology Development Cooperation Agreement for the Production of Green Chemicals in Korea Using Proprietary Carbon Capture and Recycling (CCR) Technology
SEATTLE, WA -- (Marketwire) -- 08/17/10 -- Mantra Venture Group Ltd. ('Mantra') (OTCBB: MVTG) (FRANKFURT: 5MV) is pleased to announce that it has formally executed an agreement with KOSPO and KC Cottrell to deploy Mantra's CCR technology in a pilot project at KOSPO's coal fired power plant in Hadong. The objective of the project is to demonstrate the effectiveness of Mantra's CCR technology in converting waste CO2 into valuable formic acid alongside KC Cottrell's unique CO2 capture facility at KOSPO's largest coal fired power plant in Korea. The project is expected to advance Mantra's CCR technology in large scale applications and to secure further applications of CCR in the Republic of Korea. Upon successful completion of the project, Mantra expects the large scale implementation of its technology in Korea for disposing of waste CO2. It all began to come together at the Olympics under the Metro Vancouver Commerce program supported by, amongst others, Mayor Dianne Watts, City of Surrey, Mayor Richard Walton, District of North Vancouver, Mayor Malcolm Brodie, City of Richmond, and Mayor Gregor Robertson, City of Vancouver.
Mr. Larry Kristof, CEO of Mantra Venture Group stated:
"This agreement represents a giant leap forward for the reduction of CO2 from industry sources using Mantra's technology. This project will serve as an important next step toward commercialization and recognition of CO2 as a valuble feedstock for green chemicals and fuels. Both KOSPO and KC Cottrell bring important elements to the comercialization process complementing Mantra's expertise."
Mr. Nam Ho Ki, CEO of Korea Southern Power Corporation, added:
"The agreement we are signing today on the ERC technology to produce formic acid represents a groundbreaking technology to solve the problem with the global warming caused by CO2 emissions. Once the collaboration of our three companies in commercializing the formic acid production technology become a success, it will not only provide a new meaning for CO2 as a means to boost the industries and economy, but also a new perspective on the problem with GHG (Green house Gases) from using fossil fuels."
Mr. Lee Tae Young, CEO of KC Cottrell noted the following about the agreement with Mantra:
"On top of making useful material, production of formic acid from CO2 using electro chemical reduction principle signifies a revolutionary change in the production of green chemical products. This agreement will serve as a catalyst for a strong collaboration with Mantra's proprietary technology, and with KOSPO who has been a driving force in developing innovative technologies together with Korea's green growth initiative. KC Cottrell will do our best to fast track the commercialization of ERC technology."

i think this is the week where we see some goods.
haha, good one guys. i think that if they come back with the deal signed. it will generate much interest and show investors that there is a market for this technology. I think that investors who have sat on the fence and been waiting for something concrete will now jump in and show support and a nice promotion couldn't hurt to scoop some new investors, retail and institutional. I'm here for the long haul anyways, adding when i can. We are amongst an energy revolution.
They are there right now.
quiet before a storm?
Some good things to come. Things are going to get exciting and we have been waiting long enough.
in due time the we will see a real contract and then we can start to make moves. KOSPO which owns the Hadong power plant which is state owned, so best believe there will be some big shots at the signing ceremony. It will be interesting and Mantra plans to aggressively promote there technology once everything is signed off. You have found this company at the right time my friend.

alright king. read into this company if i was you. i have bought shares for the last 2 years at all ranges. I fully trust the management and technology. They have a carbon recycling technology that takes CO2 and converts into formic acid through electro chemistry. They have collaboration agreements with 3M, KC-Cottrell, KOSPO (korea south power) which is state owned. We are/have been waiting for months for the finalization of these agreements which are very soon to come. they then can be taken out of the lab and onto industrials partners for demo units. i will keep you posted if youd like. They also only have 32 mil in their shares outstanding and about 6-8 in the float. a serious looker.
MVTG- a soon to be real beauty, do your DD people. great company in the right sector with the right technology.

NICE NEWS**MVTG** Mantra Successfully Completes Carbon Recycling Development Program and Is Now Ready for First-Ever On-Site Demonstration Project.
SEATTLE, WA -- (Marketwire) -- 06/28/10 -- Mantra Venture Group Ltd. ('Mantra') (OTCBB: MVTG) (FRANKFURT: 5MV) is pleased to announce that it has successfully completed the year-long development program for its Electroreduction of Carbon Dioxide (ERC) technology and the company is now preparing for its first-ever on-site demonstration project.
As a final component to this research and development phase, Mantra recently set out to upgrade the concentration of formate produced by ERC to a level suitable for commercial use. To achieve this goal, Mantra and Kemetco (its research laboratory) designed and tested two innovative concepts.
The test phase is now complete, and Mantra is pleased to announce that one of the concepts successfully upgrades the formate solution to the desired concentration of 3 molar. Further details on the successful concept will be released after completion of all necessary intellectual property work.
John Russell, Vice President of Technology Evaluation at Mantra, explained: "This is a great achievement. Industrial processes generally use highly concentrated feedstock chemicals, and this latest development will enable us to offer just that. Mantra is now closer than ever to completing its profitable solution to CO2. The next step is a field demonstration project -- a stage that I have been looking forward to for quite some time."
"This is a big step forward for the company," added Larry Kristof, President and CEO of Mantra. "ERC's ability to convert CO2 into a saleable, commercial grade product will give it an advantage over other CO2 mitigating techniques."
This technical advancement comes on the back of several achievements made throughout the 12-month program, including: regeneration of the cathode catalyst, improved cathode structure, improvements to the long-term stability of the catalyst, improved current efficiency (to 90%), and a vastly reduced power requirement.
With this latest stage of research and development now complete, the company is making the necessary arrangements to commence its first ever on-site ERC demonstration project.
Earlier this month, Mantra's ERC technology was featured in Steel Times International. To view the article, go to: http://steeltimesint.com/features/view/an-alternative-to-carbon-sequestration-electroreduction-of-co2/

About ERC
The ERC process, the "Electrochemical Reduction of Carbon Dioxide," combines captured carbon dioxide with water to produce high value materials, such as formic acid and formate salts, which are conventionally obtained from the thermochemical processing of Fossil Fuels. However, ERC has an advantage over the established thermochemical methods for converting carbon dioxide to green chemicals, new chemicals beyond formic acid, building products and liquid fuels.
While thermochemical reactions must be driven at relatively high temperatures that are normally obtained by burning fossil fuels, ERC operates at near ambient conditions and is driven by electric energy that can be taken from an electric power grid supplied by hydro, wind, solar or nuclear energy (forms of clean or renewable energy).
About Mantra:
Mantra, through its group of sustainable energy, carbon reduction and consumer product subsidiaries, is active in the green technology marketplace with an innovative, multi-faceted approach focused on profitability through sustainability. By aggressively seeking out new technologies and innovating solutions for a cleaner earth for everyone, Mantra intends to provide a highly profitable and environmentally responsible investment for its shareholders.

GREAT REPLY. AWESOME STUFF. I have heard that Colin Oloman is one of the electro chemistry pioneers of the world.
some great buys today for mantra. we need bids guys, visable ones, ones that over over 5000 shares orders. we all need to help until the news comes out and then we will be laughing saying why didnt i buy more.
BASF world's largest chemical company has increased the price of FORMIC ACID. Another great sign for the ERC technology.
