SKS has been
to how many conventions last year according to some here trying to explain why the EXPENSES are so high and as justification for the total compensation?
WHAT exactly did he do at all those places if NOT get out the word about tpm's? If that isn't sufficient, as he says on his cc, then maybe another strategy to go along with the first one may be in order??? No????? I mean, what would it hurt other than help educate and create some dialogue and possible additional sales of seats and ERAS, etc.
Is what stratagem they are using now working???? Satisfactorily?
Just wondering what the acceptance level threshold is.

Not to interrupt between you and Go-Kite but can I get a clarification on exactly what you mean by "an instant profit" please?
I mean, come on, I have been holding long since 1997 and every quarter since then I have heard "wait till next quarter" or "June is ours" or next year is our year! Since then I have put two kids through grad school and undergrad, have 3 grandchildren, started my own company and am planning for retirement.
Profitability REAL SOON would be a good goal. Like NEXT QUARTER with NO excuses. Does that seem fair?
Thanks,

It's always good to know
that a company like Intel, the most innovative processor company in the world, is a leviathon and not innovative. Heck, they are so non-innovative that V-Pro version 2.0 doesn't even exist and McAfee, why those poor slackers are so dumb they were only what size of a company?????? I don;t suppose that they could possibly assist Intel in the software management areas needed for management of the hardware, but then again, on Intel's whitepaper they were pushing Bitlocker and never once mentioned Wave.
Those guys at Intel are just slouches when it comes to innovation.
Keep burying your head in the sand. Discount anything you don't agree with but have zero substantiation for any of it and whatever you do, don;t give it any actual thought or scrutiny.
In this space, ANYTHING and EVERYTHING is possible. To think otherwise is to fool only yourself and take someone else down with you. Yes, most here including me bet on a horse named Wave Systems.
That doesn't mean that he will win, place, or show. So far, our horse is still in the race.
The problem I have with jakesdad's comment is that those companies with similar revenues as Waves are in the BLACK and producing a profit and shareholder value. That is the difference.
I keep hearing about the DoD. I have heard that now for over half a decade. I am still waiting. Will I be alive when it finally happens? Will WAVE be involved? Do we know that as an absolute FACT or are we hoping that a competitor doesn't emerge with a BIG NAME that is trusted by the government and steal what is being trumpeted as HUGE DEALS for WAVX from the DoD.
Would you be willing to bet your life on it? Your entire financial holdings?
I can only HOPE that SOME of these BIG TIME SCENARIOS CM speaks of MIGHT come to pass.
That would certainly drive the SP up and maybe I can get back my investment close to what it was worth when I bought it long before that unnecessary reverse split.
For the PRESENT in which we live, let us HOPE these things might take place and not rush to such outlandish statements that Industry leading corporations like Intel are just SLUGGISH Behemoth's that are not innovative so there is nothing to fear or worry about or keep an eye on. That is keeping one's head buried in the sand.
To each their own. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions.

MAy1,
why not just change the bus driver. In the real world, they are only allowed to drive for a limited amount of time before taking a rest. This driver has fallen asleep in many areas and unfortunately, many of the passengers on the bus have fallen asleep or have simply relegated themselves to a snails pace for performance. Gucci is quite correct in his statement regarding performance of ceo and his salary. He also is entitled to express that view without being chided.
micro...
gucci,
As a former ceo and now a private owner of my own company, please allow me to express some thoughts on that subject.
1. I agree with you 100 percent about SKS treating it as a family business, a monetary feeding farm if you would. Have any of the members of the family ever gone without like the shareholders?
2, Leaders are supposed to lead by example. Period and end of discussion.
3. There has been blatant and abhorrent disregard for the shareholders equity and rights for a very long time. I believe it is from how shareholders are viewed by this inexperienced ceo who should never imo been in that position to begin with.
4. All of the above being said, I do not agree that they should do without a salary base. They are entitled to a salary, however it should be consistent with size of the company and the circumstances of the company. Little money, small salary. NO BONUSES. Those are for when the company is profitable and should be rewards for a job well done. So far we have not seen profitability, or break even. WHY are we giving ourselves huge bonuses???? WHO is footing the bill for those things? Oh, I forgot. That's you and all the others who keep purchasing shares to help prop up the cash flow and pay SKS and Feeney huge bonuses they don;t have the money coming in to pay for.
5. Now the last argument. There are going to be those who will say, "look at the genius of SKS. He kept the company going and got us this far. He is on the very brink of having more cash come in than they count"..I have heard this argument for years. It didn't hold water from day one but it sounds good to the ears.
SKS is simply in the wrong position at the company. ANY CEO worth his salt could see it a mile away. Is he talented? Yes, in SOME areas, but not bringing to profitability an emerging high tech company. With ideas he is plenty rich and is why he should be leading the team in development. He should not be leading the entire company. He is trying to play with the big boys and those ceo's will eat his lunch, digest it, and give it back to him. He is an amateur among seasoned wily veterans who actually can run corporations. This has been my biggest complaint with SKS for over a decade.
Is wave better today than it was five years ago? I would say yes.
Is it because of SKS? No. The others in the TCG have moved the ball forward because they see the next big sector that is emerging and want to stake out a good part of the eventual sales dollars involved for themselves.
It is in spite of SKS that WAVX is still here, not the other way around.
The only way to know that for a fact is to have had a change in corporate leadership at the helm with a real, seasoned executive and then see what would have happened.
But as Go-Kite has stated, that didn't happen and likely isn't going to. The shareholders have been too closely involved with the ceo and their eyesight is impaired.
Decisions are made from a stone cold impartial neutrality, feelings not allowed frame of mind. Anybody using an impartial form of rationale would come to the same conclusion.
So, I agree with you and Prudent Capitalist and Kitesurf in that regard.
On the other hand, I do wish SKS well as he continues to struggle to bring the ship of treasure into port. I do see the new security paradigm coming. Parts of it are here. SOme of it is due to SKS's vision, which again is why he should not be ceo but head of product development.
I am rooting for wave. I own a considerable amount of shares. They are worth one third of what they were when I bought them.
Actually, less than one third.
ALl we can do at this juncture is be supportive to the degree we can be, speak up when the boss is wrong and call him on it, but be hopeful that in some point in time we can indeed recoup our investments and with luck, make a little after all these years.
In my investment time period I have had 3 grandchildren born, put two children through undergraduate school and post graduate school and built a home. I have retired from my other position and started my own company, I am profitable and employ people.
That's a lot in a little over a decade. I sure the rewards come son or I will be permanently retired and likely dead.
the best,
micro....
Thanks Wave dreamer and Kitesurf!
You know, honestly, I forgot about wiki leaks and their pilfering/hacking. Of course, they had some "inside help" as well who is now in custody.
I am elated to know that somebody's sectors are doing well! That's great. Mine is inching up ever so slowly so hopefully later this year we may be back to 75% of normal levels.
I think Wavedreamer has a point about the amount of logistics involved. I also know that the Federal Government works at a snails pace from first hand knowledge.
The biggest concern I think for wavx investors is not being subsumed by Intel/McAfee. Those are TWO household names in one and I still wonder what the purpose for purchasing McAfee really was.
And, like you, I have not much positive to say about the abilities of the ceo, but will let it go at that. I have already read and heard all the differing views on that so nothing to be gained there.
The good news is that Wavx is still alive and kicking, and that means they have a chance to make it.
the best,
micro...
Thank you wavedreamer!
Like you, I have been waiting for the promised DoD sector. There have been lots of change in our industry since 2007, and as you point out, there is no mass adoption, at least yet....
Now V-Pro version 2.0 processors are out. Sandy Bridge cores. I have one sitting in my office at home. A 2600k quad core, 3.4 Ghz with 4 hyper-threaded additional cores. This thing screams.
When I go to Intel's website and look at the white pages it raises questions in my mind about Wave's necessity to Intel.
As I said, a lot changes in 4 years. That is why time is not on our side. It would be sweet though if the DoD actually started adopting this readily available security via the TPM already on many pc's and Wavx was managing them.
That would be something!
Ah yes, we can dream!!!!!
the best,
micro...
HJ
Only Intel knows the answer to that. Do they need us?
If not, then the answer is likely no.
WHY did Intel acquire McAfee? That is the real question and I think think therein lies the real answer.
JMHO,
micro..
Mig,
Not much to say really. There is nothing that is stellar, standing out like a shooting star. What did you think about the numbers?
micro....
tkc
That is exactly what the numbers say.
Also, a simple question. Now, before I get kicked for asking, remember I have been a long shareholder since 1997 and still possess what is left of my shares from a reverse split I strongly disagreed with.
Why is it that when you have a third of a million dollar increase for the quarter that you have lost ground? In other words, that little word which is so encompassing, "expenses", seems to always EAT everything that the company gains.
Why this time? Have we over employed? It isn't good business practice to spend more on additional personnel than you take in so I think a valid explanation is more than due.
That's kind of like saying "the good news is we didn;t have to pay any taxes on profits this year", "uh, that's also the bad news".
The good.
The company is doing far better than they were say a couple years ago and later. The revenues are growing. The economy sucks.
It appears that they are able to operate within the cash flow, at least thus far. That says something.
So, are the numbers exactly where we would LIKE to see them? No.
Are they the end of the world? No.
Are they Good? Not really but not horrible either.
I think that as long as the economy is in the condition it is in that it isn't going to change much. Corporations are cutting back on things they can postpone unless it is absolutely necessary.
Some will feel more compelled than others to consider the security of their I.T. departments and data. But the bulk of wave's revenues come from Dell and shipments from Dell are not going to ramp up in the business class computers until the economy is better and businesses start having the necessary monies to make those expenditures.
This conference call rated a 5 out of ten, neither bad nor good.
Wave will live to fight another day and let's face it, if you own a business and are surviving, you are doing well. Sure, some sectors are alright, especially the ones who live off the taxpayers. But many are still sluggish and hurting and true unemployment is still over 17 percent.
So, to have a quarterly report like this means wave did not lose any ground, could have been a little better with its management of the payrolls, but is holding its own despite the conditions.

Am I a detractor? Did not the article STATE that it was a DELL REP who showed the health organization how a SED with ERAS would give them the security and management with substantially less time involved than what they were currently using?
Please correct me if I am incorrect or misread. Please also show me where I implied or indicated it would be a horrible thing as you have boldened in your post.
I AM ELATED beyond belief because this actually means something to me. After over 12 years of being LONG THIS STOCK and HOLDING EVERY SINGLE SHARE PURCHASED IN CASH, how many others do you know that can say that?
I think you misconstrued my thoughts and do not understand.
Could you please SHOW me where I am a detractor when I am the only person on another board who does NOT run wave down, writes that they will survive and will be a small player in this total market?
Repeatedly I have stated that stance so I believe you have a wrong opinion.
No sir, I do not like SKS as a ceo but that is another topic and has nothing to do with this.
Thank you kindly,

Bluewave,
Absolutely! The method in which this came about is what is encouraging to me! Dell reps finally doing what they should be with this stuff. Now then, could we please see more of this type of thing, please????? I agree with you 100 percent.

The article specifically
states that a DELL tech was the one who showed the folks at the hospital how SEDS work more efficiently and flawlessly as well at Wave's software for implementing a quick centralized secured trusted and locked down platform.
That is how I read the article and was referring to. Dell demonstrated it to the organization. Did you read it some other way????
micro....
That is a very reasonable and logical statement.
EVERYTHING rises and falls on ACTUAL BUSINESS IN HAND, and financial stability and how john q. investor views those things.
Announced and confirmed contracts in hand go a long way to that end and the result should be an upward pressure on the SP as you have suggested.

Congrats to Wave Systems on this order!
This is great news and imo just what this company was in much need of. Now it is "IN" a 19,000 personnel hospital and health organization with a great deal of "exposure" and so far the reviews from those who use these new laptops are excellent.
This is exactly the kind of thing a business needs to be able to show to a similar situated potential customer/client because it gives a direct reference.
Kudos to Dell for the sales! Kudos to Wavx for this implementation.
Congrats all around! Well done indeed!

At the moment it is in free fall because the news on the CC was lackluster at best and there is no new news or news of impending large orders that would support upward growth. IMO, the newer shareholders are leaving because they are not attached to this company nor share the very long vision that many here have.
Just my opinion,
micro...
Wavedreamer
That is scary stuff. However, since those copiers have hard drives, perhaps there may be another opportunity for securing those copier hard drives and protecting the personal information and identification information of individuals that those drives contain.
That was a worthy and high priority read by anyone.
Thanks for sharing,
micro..
Weby
That has been my position also for a very long time and reflects exactly what my financial position in this stock remains.
I think you are exactly right on the money with that statement "Our key is LONG squeezing when many, many institutions want/need to take a position in the "NEW" hardware security thingy. "
If all we are clinging to is the hope of a short squeeze to make this stock price go upward and NOT the demand for the products themselves, then it will be only a temporary price movement and will come crashing back down to the same level or lower it started at before the squeeze.
There have been some amazing articles and videos posted in the past few days that are very encouraging. To those who bought shares sub $1.00 and kept them, congratulations on taking the risk and being rewarded, which is what investing is truly about.
Continuing to watch and still long and holding.

Good morning to you and one more additional point to add to your observation.
The network admin can send remotely send a poison pill which was neat to watch on the video that JakesDad referenced to watch.
Once that poison pill is executed the data on the disk is worthless no matter if the attacking hacker has the laptop or not.
The even better news is that IF the stolen laptop is recovered, all the effects of the poison pill can be reversed and the laptop totally restored along with that data.
That was really a neat clip to watch and speaks directly to this point in addition to the one you made.

This a well written, easy to understand article which is down to earth and practical.
Apparently the writer has used the Wave products and gone through the procedures for setting it up as well.
I enjoyed reading this very much.

Hi Barge
Thanks for the explanation. Let me please say it was NOT my intention to create ANY kind of a ruckus. I simply fail to see why there is a disclaimer regarding the security aspects of the TPM security Gigabyte is embracing and selling.
Also, I don;t think it makes any difference who the TPM manufacturer is with respect to security and being managed.
Consequently Goepling's remarks are not valid concerning the problem lies with Infineon.
At some point the CONSUMER sector is going to have to be involved, no question in my mind regarding secured computing.
I am a fan of Gigabyte motherboards so I find this interesting.
Also interesting is the fact that these TPM equipped boards can be purchased by any person who enjoys building their own computer or doing their own upgrades, including all white box makers.
Since it comes with a TPM on it, I assume then we could procure ETS and manage our security that way.
The old FDE is now called SED and mean basically the same identical thing, only SED is more descriptive, right?
What I fail to see is why, if this is so super secure (hardware based security), why does CM claim that there can not be and guarantee on the security of the DATA???
That imo just BLOWS away the case by the TCG for Securing Data at Rest. If it can't be guaranteed that it will be secure then what is the point?
I find that amazing, and again, let me emphasize I am not creating a ruckus, only trying to see if their is any sensible rationalization to cm's comment.
So far I haven't found any. Can you help me out here?
the best,
micro...
Thanks ISPRO!
I am glad you said that! I don't know what I was thinking, I guess still thinking about cm's remark that NO data is guaranteed safe. I believe he meant that irrespective of WHO the TPM maker was, and it was to that end I was focusing.
Thanks very much for the reminder of the SEDS and OPAL. I knew that, and got ahead of myself. Wow, a senior moment! lol!!!!
Well, I hope cm is wrong about that is all I can say.
the best to you,
micro...
CM
You ask, "Is that something to be concerned about?"
Well, let's see. In my industry we have standards and a lot of them are established and tested by Underwriters Laboratories in Chicago.
These tests for certification of physical security are quite expensive to receive the UL certification which GUARANTEES that the products that are classsified with a particular rating are guaranteed by UL to meet those specifications and ratings. IF they fail, guess who is holding the bag? Me, the manufacturer.
BTW, none have ever failed period, which is why we guarantee them.
Tested standards should not fail and guarantees should be straightforward and without convolusion.
For example, if a vault door at a bank is rated to withstand attack for 2 hours and has been tested by UL and recieved their certification, you can bloody well bet your life that vault door will do exactly what it is RATED and ADVERTISED to do.
Now, let's look at the practical application regarding Gigabyte and the TPM and your statement.
The argument is made that hardware based security, especially utilizing OPAL standars is the absolute best, most secure, positively greatest way to safely and securely store your data and information. It is military grade secure.
So you are telling me that military grade means "maybe it will and maybe it won't??????
Or are you just admitting that this secure and trusted computing is just a bunch of overblown hooey because it isn;t possible to safely store one's data no matter what methodology is employed?
As you can tell, I am more than a little befuddled at your response and I don't know, but maybe we should pose your theorem to Wave Systems or the TCG and see what they say.
From a marketing perspective, if you won't stand behind your product and make disclaimers like that (which indicate that it might not be as safe and secure as we claim it is) then why would or should ANYONE, especially the Federal government, purchase such a system?
CM, I am sorry, but this makes no sense to me, and yes, we do have guarantees and there are no disclaimers.
the best,
micro...
Hi Maynard!
From the Gigabyte site and in their description of how their motherboards that are hardware security ready with TPM onboard and what looks like a USB dongle in the shape of a "key", they have a "system" that claims it utillizes TPMS and encryption keys utilizing BOTH Software and hardware including the TPM. Hence their terminology "ultra" TPM which means exactly what you paid for it! lol!!!!!!
Its just verbage that "sounds" good because the last thing they do in their description is make a big disclaimer saying they can't guarantee the security of your data anyway even using their "ultra TPM" and hardware based security.
Sounds like a lot of double speak to me.
Go's something like this:
I know that you believe that you heard something that I said,
however,
what you don't know is that what you think you that heard is not what I meant.
the best,
micro...
DonaldDuck
Good article and thanks for posting it.
It seems, if I read this correctly, that this writer is of the opinion that better things are ahead for the hardware based security and OPAL in particular.
I think he makes an interesting point also in that there is going to be both software solutions and strictly hardware based solutions, though they are managed by software(wave).
If this writer is correct, then what he is saying is that demand for Wave's hardware management products is still out in the future and consequently wave is waiting for the enterprises and government(s) to decide what they are going to utilize in terms of protection, the software systems or the OPAL based system with Wave management software.
Have a good day!
micro...
Barge
Good morning and thanks for the links!
I read them and was especially interested in the Gigabyte boards as I use them quite a bit in my computer builds.
I tracked down one of them in particular to see what it said. I just selected it randomly from the list. Here is what I found and it is a tad disturbing regarding the Security function:
http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/Motherboard/Products_Overview.aspx?ProductID=2842
Ultra TPM - Industry’s highest level of data Security via onboard TPM
* Maximum level of data protection with 2048 bit encryption
* Security, manageability and flexibility that surpasses software-based encryption
* Portable User Key to protect data when away from your system
* Additional backup of user key in BIOS in case of misplaced key
......TPM Configuration Procedure
* After creating the password(s) and key(s) associated the TPM, be sure to store them in a secure location and back them up. Loss of the password(s) or the key(s) will render the files encrypted via the TPM unable to be cracked or read.
* Though the TPM delivers the latest data security technology, it does not guarantee data integrity or give hardware protection. GIGABYTE is not liable for loss of encrypted data as a result of hardware damage.
To me, that is quite the disclosure at the end of their security description. I was really hoping for better than that.
It is utilizing a TPM but then says that it doesn't guarantee your data integrity NOR give hardware protection.
If it doesn't guarantee those things, then why in the world would anyone needing those specific things for themselves ever purchase one of these boards with this security system?
Perhaps it is just a poor choice of wording, but it sure looks like a disclaimer to me.
How do you read this?
Tia,
micro...
Hi Jas!
I would be delighted
to actually "see" those upgrades start bringing in millions per quarter and growing exponentially. By doing so, it is an indicator that adoption has actually occurred and is escalating a universal standard that is widely accepted and not only accepted, but being utilized.
Thank you for the correction regarding the stock purchases. I was under the impression that what Snakman said was the $25k represented two years. That makes a difference and I thank you.

Re: stock purchases
Do you consider $25,000 over two years to be significant?
That wouldn't even qualify either of them as a wavoid. What do you think? If I was confident that my corporation that I was the head of was going to go places I would be loading up the tandem axle dump trucks! Especially when I am knowcking down SKS' salary and his bonus.
$25,000 over two years is chicken feed and I think you know that.

We AGREE on something for a change!
Indeed the past must be broken and the company MUST start ACTING like a real live credible corporation.
IMO, that means a change in management and leadership. I am sure this is where our agreement will end but nonetheless, sometimes a clean fresh start with new aggressive team is needed.
BTW, that is ONE reason I stepped down. ANother was I was getting worn and tired of the grind. Perhaps SKS is like that too. I couldn't blame him.

In all honesty
I respectfully disagree with you.
This notion that if we close a few pennies over the burn rate is somehow demonstrative of something significant and ongoing is in my opinion rather silly.
Again, what other significant revenue streams do we have besides Dell?
Answer: NONE.
How long have we been working on this? A LONG time.
What matters are revenue sources that are ongoing, significant and multiple. Steady yet sure upward mobility in the corporate space, which will gain credibility for the company assuming they deliver and do what they say and promise they will.
All is else is simply talk and right now, our ceo is like the boy that cried wolf. He speaks and nobody listens.
That imo is a huge IMAGE problem, yet another one of those pesky corporate credibility things that definitely does affect your open doors for sales and of course, your bottom line.
Have a good day,

I too am interested in what kitesurf (surfsup) has to say as well. He is one of the longest board members of Wavx and has very excellent insights, especially when they fall into the domain of his personal specialties. There are many others like this but I have enjoyed and considered surfsup's commentary for years and years. Though I disagree until recently with Weby, I remain interested in him and his thoughts as well...
IMO, it is more than time for the "talk" to turn into performance. I have watched the dilution and the reduction in my own holdings erode steadily over these past 11-12 years and been promised everything except the moon by our CEO.
Results and financial stability are still lagging way behind, though Dell has certainly single-handedly raised the company's revenues.
Other than Dell, what other revenue source has contributed to a multi-million dollar quarterly revenue stream that is continually growing? We have been told about many over the past few years and none have ever come to fruition, though they did elicit jubilation to the masses, and I was a participant in that as well.
But the question remains, NAME ONE corporation other than Dell that increases Wave's revenues or even ONE PRODUCT other than what Dell is paying us for, that is causing this revenue stream in this company to expand quarter over quarter.
Therein lies the problem. So far Wave has been BIG on talk and short on deliveries. I am unsure exactly where to lay the blame on these OBVIOUS factual statements regarding the performance of Wave Systems to date, but as a LONG TIME LONG and shareholder, after almost a dozen years of unfulfilled promises and still waiting, I believe that we are due some explanations other than "it's the market".
Execution is everything and is what CEO's get paid to do. Period and end of story. As Truman said, "The buck stops here."
THIS year, 2009, MUST be the year for RESULTS WAY ABOVE expenses to incur and for diversity of those revenue streams. There has been plenty of time now and the years of making up one reason or another as to why this has not yet happened is beyond the pale.
I along with everyone else I am sure, would love to see my BASE investment restored at a minimum and a PROFIT, even a meager one, turned. The time has come, and again, I would like to say that I believe a critical thinker like Gokitesurf's voice ADDS to the overall discussion of Wave systems, even as Internet, Fullmoon, CSL, Wildman, Barge, CM, AWK, Weby, et al.
Have a good day everyone,

Kitesurf, Re: sales
You made this statement to CM:
"Sales Strategy and execution: Read my last posts. Read my post particularly with Yaya mentioned and WXP as well as TSJs. You are very misinformed about Wave's ability to focus and sell from the HEAD OF THE COMPANY ON DOWN."
Let me please say that in my industry, physical security and banking and financial institutions, you are absolutely correct in this.
I have been a Diebold premium supplier for decades. I have YET to go to their CEO or President to sell them on any product! They have Managers of different divisions, and a whole set of Procurement managers in each of those.
You do not sell Diebold from the TOP DOWN. You will not get to first base in that manner. I know that for a fact.
I cannot speak to the purchasing habits of other corporations, especially in the IT/security sectors, but I can say that this is how it is at Diebold, and I know them very well.
The points that CM made that were on target to me were that this present economy is a hindrance to almost everything and spending is minimal. Austerity programs are in place and the motto is get by and make do with less.
All absolutely correct and caused by this unprecedented meltdown of almost every sector in the US economy and world economies.
I really don't think you will disagree with that and that is what I was referring to. Hope this clarifies things for you.

In this economy it is critical to keep in mind that money is not free flowing as it once was and the buzz word you utilized in your description, "make do with less" is the rule of law both here in my shop and I know it is that way at Diebold as well after having just had a meeting with them earlier this week.
Very valid and succinct comments. I agree with you.

As usual,
I have enjoyed your rationality and realistic calm approach to significant and serious concerns raised regarding the as yet to happen paradigm shift, and per your discussion with TJ, some of the sales strategems that may or may not have happened.
I have one final question from this post of yours which I am replying to.
You made this statement: "Both of my points are obvious, but I plan on running them by management just the same, in order to reassure me, or in the unlikely event that reminders are in order."
While on the surface this seems like a good idea from an individual investor, here is the problem that it has demonstrated to folks like me.
WHY hasn't the BOD already addressed these issues with the company management already and "refreshed them"?
THAT is THEIR job. If they are not doing their job, maybe they should consider themselves unqualified and resign and be replaced with an exec that KNOWS what the job entails, including providing some guidance and help to the ceo.
My past BOD had no reservations about sharing their thoughts and suggestions when they reviewed the corporation's progress, and in this case where there is a lack of progress that is evident in sales upgrades where the only meaningful revenues are going to come from, one would think this would be priority one for them.
I am out here wondering if they are asleep at the wheel.
You go ahead and call and chat but be mindful that you are doing what the BOD should have already done.
Just my take on it.
Thanks for your good contributions to the discussion.

waveduke, bingo!!!
You have hit the nail square on the head imowith this statement of yours, "When it becomes best practices at a couple of large institutions (e.g. Dell, Intel, any other TCG behemoth) it would seem to be a game-changer."
This of course leads us to the ultimate question as TPM's, SED's, and ETS have been available for quite some time now,
WHY haven't they, or anybody in the TCG, implemented as best practice , or any practice for that matter, this security?
Therein lies the 64,000 dollar question.

I am a tad confused by your statement of expenses and their effects on revenues. Can you elaborate please?
For example, what would be wrong if we curtailed "expenses" while revenues actually rose? The result would be the gap closes between expenses and revenues, thus the losses are less.
I fail to see the correlation between having current expenses and what that does to reveues, other than eat into them.
Could you please make this clearer?
Thanks,

That
is interesting. Wasn't this company supposed to be our partner and doing all these "pilots" in Japan for Wave? Now we find out they have developed yet another methodology for keeping a drive's contents secured using a pretty simple method without the need to control it from a networking standpoint.
That's actually pretty interesting and reminds me of an idea I put forth a couple years ago usint a USB flash drive.
Glad to see someone developed it a little farther.
