So, Bio Bill what is really the purpose of the ADCOMM?
It looks to be assembled to discuss AMR102 and its use with Statins (Safety & Efficacy).
It also appears that the committee is comprised of Endocrinologists and something other than Cardiology.
So, what is the outcome we are looking for if it's not for off-label use of Vascepa? TIA.
Should see 4000 scripts next week. Yellow and others, where can a layman find these script numbers? NRx and refills? Good post btw.... refills is a key factor. Should be a good script week next week.
Jesse: loved your piece on that woman with Scleroderma? Keep us posted. Says alot about you and you helping those in need. How's your mood, still feeling euphoric regardless of all the noise around you?
Wow, Thanks London, these are great results. Sometimes I can't tell when Jesse is joking or not, these numbers look to be in-line, maybe they're a tad lower than what they should be? Like any medication doesn't it depend upon the person themselves? Like their diets, how active they are? They're metabolism? etc...
The twitter numbers:
cholesterol - 207 - 154 reduced by 25.6%
Trigs: 254 - 154 reduced by 39.4%
LDL: 111 - 79 reduced by 28.8%
This is still awesome results and without a statin too...
Question for Bio, aka Williams.... Your message about pain control. You mentioned the combination of "aspirin/Tylenol/ibuprofen/EPA mix, maybe the equivalent of 10 mg Morphine IV "over the counter".
Man, I want some of that.... will it cause dependence (addiction)? I think anything that creates that type of euphoria has it's downsides. But, it does show that Vascepa is quite the "utility Drug" that most of us hope it will become.
Good grief! Insiders made good on every promise they've ever made and met every target they've ever set. If it wasn't for the fantastic move to Go it alone back in December, imagine where Amarin would be now. Now that AstraZeneca has shown it's hand and made the first (wrong) move. They were too weak in the knees to get into a bidding war with a "Best in Class" prescription drug like VASCEPA. Vascepa will turn the drug market on it's ear. Vascepa will not only take over the EPA market, they will eat into the Statin space as well. Then don't forget all the other ailments Vascepa will be prescribed for once they get Anchor approval and subsequently the off-label market. I really feel fortunate to own Amarin stock at this moment. Some who apparently sold their positions made out, but in the long run they would do much better if they bought Amarin at these levels and let it run.... as there is tremendous upside coming. The market will see that attempts to undermine Amarin is futile and will throw in the towel. Either your with us or against us, as my good buddy George Bush (GW) said.
GLTA,
Nuke
Thanks Injun and Jesse, your Posts are very how should I say.... insightful, enlightend and full of promise. This helps those of us who are constantly bombarded by negativity and only leads one to believe in VASCEPA all the more. The tide is turning, soon even those against Vascepa will be won over.. Remember the "HOPI Curse"...
Good morning Jesse and all good people. I have a friend at work who suffers from Macular Degeneration (Eye). Apparently his retina tears because of the fluid in his eyes becomes more viscous, creating a pulling effect on his retina essentially tearing the retina away from the back of the eye. Not a good situation.
Does anyone have any sites besides the Dry Eye study which I forwarded him from BioChica, thanks Bio.... Beautiful family by the way. :D)
Thanks everyone, just goes to show you today's trading, those who sold @ 7.05 this AM, are very sad right about now. That's why I never, never set stops and I've never gone short on any stock I've owned. I know, not very savvy stock trading but hey, I only had a sixth grade edumacation....
GLTA,
Cool Hand Nuke
Happy Mothers Day.... There my one post for the day and an awesome post it is....
GLTA and make sure you call your Mothers today and take your spouse out for dinner.....
Cool Hand Nuke
Ajax, okay, I'll blow my one post for the day. Your figures are incorrect and your trying to blow smoke. $60M would @ $15 would have meant JZ sold 4m shares of Amarin stock. He's never owned 4m shares of Amarin stock. Care to re-calculate or? Pulling figures out if thin air is ridiculous.
Okay, so, JZ sold some shares @ $15 so big deal. Do you think Jamie Dimon, Jack Welsh, Bill Gates sent a message when they received stock options worth $billions and then turned around and sold them. How about Golden parachutes?
You got nothing on JZ so let's put down the hash pipe.
Good morning Alternatepatel; Okay, so I use my one post limit to respond to your post. IMHO, Vascepa has nothing to worry about from Zetia itself; I went to http://www.drugs.com/sfx/zetia-side-effects.html. The following were side effects warnings for the Consumer. Applies to ezetimibe: oral tablet
Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction while taking ezetimibe (the active ingredient contained in Zetia) hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Call your doctor at once if you have a serious side effect such as:
unusual muscle weakness, tenderness, or pain;
nausea, stomach pain, low fever, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes);
chest pain;
pancreatitis (severe pain in your upper stomach spreading to your back, nausea and vomiting, fast heart rate); or
fever, sore throat, and headache with a severe blistering, peeling, and red skin rash.
Less serious side effects of ezetimibe may include:
numbness or tingly feeling;
mild stomach pain, diarrhea;
tired feeling;
headache;
dizziness;
depressed mood;
runny or stuffy nose, cold symptoms;
joint pain, back pain; or
cough.
This is not a complete list of side effects and others may occur. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects. I do have an uneasy feeling about MERCKs Marketing prowess however. If the old adage that good salesman can sell ice cubes to Eskimos. Then this could affect Vascepa sales. Once people start a medication prescribed by their "trusted" physician, it's hard to switch the patients back or change their meds if they're not having any of these side effects.
Don't forget things don't remain constant. Scripts will continue to increase. $20 million per week by mid year is more likely.
(OT) Dancing in the Dark...huh? Cute TWI: It depends who you're dancing in the dark with, he he? Now, if you're dancing alone that is a different thing altogether.
I think JL started a landslide here...(posters moving from YMB) that the board moderators will need to keep a close eye on. Good to see they're starting to delete posts......
Lawyers and Doctors and Bankers oh my, lawyers and doctors and bankers oh my.... Where's Toto when you need him to expose the phonies? Ever notice Toto in the Wizard of Oz, he was never around.... he'd come running out from behind a bush someplace and how the heck did y he rate getting carried in that basket. He did expose the Wizard as a fake, he pulled the curtain back...
Patience folks, patience.... let's stop the "What if" scenarios and beat a subject to death...please
Williams from the Yahoo message board seems to think scripts may be upwards of 27% this week. Any takers? That would be awesome. You got to wonder when Amarin (Vascepa) will exponentially explode. Then it's off to the races.
Williams has been right more than wrong. I would say there is a 85% confidence that he may be right, even considering it was Good Friday (Easter Week) and all.
God bless everyone.....
Nuke
Now that would be great...Amarin is my first real Biotech. You mean Amarin could move from $7.19 to almost $300 in 5-6 years? I know this is pumping for sure. Speaking of Netflix, it was one of those stocks that's on the far right side of the Bell curve. From my recollection I sold it @ 9.65 in March 2005, it rose to $304 in July 2011. Pretty dramatic and disheartening for sure.
Amarin is a long term keeper. A game changer as they say. Like the Gambler, Kenny Rodgers sang you got to know when to hold'em, know when to fold'em, know when to walk away, know when to run.... Biotechs are very disconcerting, you must have muy paciencia (much patience). Isn't Spanish a beautiful language??? :D)
Investorfreak: The lack of seriousness? I like to be referred to as a patient investors? IMHO, most of us who have come this far, are in it til the end, (I hope). I've didn't fall off a Turnip truck yesterday, maybe Tuesday. I know Amarin is being played, I know Vascepa is being played. What goes around comes around, always does. I can only speak for myself, I know what I hold, I'm keeping my shares. Why beat a dead horse here with the $7 talk, I can see it's $7 dollars, so, talk about ad nauseam.... So, it's $7 dollars, in a few years it will be north of $30. Believe in it. We cannot control the stock price, unless your Warren Buffet. So why worry about it. Get involved with the conversation. Be a light unto the world.
Same thing happened to me with NetFlix, had I been patient in my investment and held on. I'd be on my plantation with my family enjoying life.
Patience my friend...patience.
Richinjun you're spot on.
Your spot on with your assessment, great job. Joe Z has them scared alright. The detractors of Vascepa are out in full force, you see it everywhere. A contrarian's paradise. go against the flow. Buy when there's blood in the streets. Sell when the Cramers of the world tell you to buy.
Folks; As JL says hang unto your AMRN shares, we're in for quite a ride. Joe Z has not been sitting on his laurels that's for sure. We don't see all that's going on behind the scenes but you have seen the progress so far;
1) Successful product launch and increasing scripts week over week, month over month.
2) The patents and more coming.
3) The science, hard evidence that EPA is superior over anything in the marketplace and bottom-line is helping people "naturally."
Personally, I like the individual stories of folks who started taking Vascepa and after a week or so, are already seeing benefits from it. I want to start taking Vascepa myself, just need to convince the doctor. Someone posted a story of the doctor doing his own study/ trial of Vascepa on his patients. Who says he can't? These are the types of doctors we need, someone who takes the time to do their own research, who knows and cares about their patients, are not afraid of the academia, who don't listen to the naysayers.
Like comparing a Yugo to a Lamborghini.
Thanks Jesse; I appreciate your response, you were civil and as always scientifically correct. I Googled Krill oil and went to Wikipedia, seems the lawyers of Krill products are hard at work and don't want any negative publicity about the properties and Non-superiority of Krill
If you agree with Wikipedia as being an unbiased source of information; Krill oil and Fish oil are essentially the same thing since they both contain Omega 3 Fatty Acids (DHA/EPA) in the same ratio. Like you'd mentioned Krill does have some traces of phospholipids in it. But, you can get phospholipids from eggs and soy products.
Thanks for your Flax seed research, I didn't know this fact, I'll tell the wife she is a true believer in Flax seed and anything Organic, what a scam that is.....
What I find uncalled for is the folks on the "Krill Band Wagon" think they're stuff is better, when it's scientifically proven that it's not. So, when you buy Krill oil your getting Omega 3 Fish oil, nothing more. On top of that Vascepa is purified EPA which Krill oil is not. So, then Amarin has the Patents, NEPT and others do not and never will. Amarin is all alone in this space, do not be fooled by the "Shill Masters" touting the benefits of Krill oil over Vascepa.
Got a twofer yesterday;
Set up a visit with a New Primary Care Physician. Went rather well.
He had a 3rd year Med student training in his office. So, I was tagged teamed so to speak. The doctors name was Don "The Rock" Johnson (just kidding) and "Robin the Boy Wonder." So, during our conversation, he didn't want to prescribe me any meds, as he thought diet and exercise was all I needed to lower my TGs below 150 from 246. LDL would go hand in hand. He said go on this regimen and come back in six months and we'll see if there's any progress.
The Doctor did bring up the subject of "Fish Oil." Needless to say, I had my Vascepa story ready and told him all about it in front of the Student too. The Doctor had this look of astonishment, like wow, where did this guy get this information and how did he know so much about his Cholesterol levels? He had this surprised look like as he did remember reading something about Vascepa and that it was a new drug on the market for lowering TGs. I also told him about Tier 2 for Express Scripts, and the fact Vascepa is only FDA Approved for Patients with Cholesterol levels above 500 mg/dl. Needless to say, I think he was impressed, although he didn't say much, he remained quiet and observing and "Listened". I think I got through, we'll see.
I told him I appreciated his openness and attitude towards looking at my side of things. He said, he does listen to his patients and I was good with that for a first visit. Well, I did not ask for a prescription, although I think if I ask on my next visit and my Cholesterol levels do not change, then I will ask for a prescription of Vascepa, as I think it will provide me some benefits and not just from lowering my TGs. I am off-label as my TGs are high but not that high. I just don't want to spend the money on PlusEPA as this would be out of pocket at higher cost than I could get it through Express Scripts. I'm excited as this recent action with the stock price is being driven by "unknowns" of course, we as investors need to hang on. Good things come to those who wait.
Oh, what the heck. Wow! didn't notice that I have 13 posts remaining, I thought it was only 3 posts for free accounts? So Linhdtu, it would seem as though you are in some respects the board moderator, from what I gather from your response? 3 strikes and they're out as in their name ID will be deleted or their post will be deleted? I'm curious as to how many ID's a person can fabricate as well under IHub? Is there a limitation? This too was the demise of YMB, too many multiple IDs. Hopefully, you can see my viewpoint as it applies to all the "Clutter?"
Thanks for your response linhdtu. Nuke
It's all about Buffalo Wings:
Thanks Jesse for keeping our focus on owning Amarin. You and Kaylawa and others exiting Yahoo and coming here was one of my main reasons for leaving Yahoo. Yes, I do still lurk there, but my attitude has gotten better since moving to IHub.
To discuss your point about changing diets in America and this started happening in the 1940's etc. A friend at work came into my cube the other day and started talking about Old WW II photo's he had seen on the internet. He asked me, do you know the one thing I noticed in all those old photo's with all the thousands of people celebrating the end of the war? I knew exactly where he was going with this. I beat him to the punch and said, there wasn't one "Obese person" on the street at that time or that you could see in the photo's." He looked at me incredulously and said, that's right, there wasn't one Fat person during those times. My friends wife is a nurse and forbids anything the house with High Fructose Corn Syrup, artificial sweeteners of any kind, no powdered coffee creamers, smaller portions of red meat, soda pop etc. Does allow lots of fruits and vegetables, chicken, fish. What gets me is, most of us know these things and still we are overwhelmed at every turn. What choices can we make? We have to read each and every label to see what's in it. At times, it just makes you want to give up and say what's the use? And I'm not even talking about those folks who will not or cannot afford the "Organic Foods".
Let me leave the board with this; Actually, there is hope. I've seen that prices for Chicken Breast have gone down dramatically. I had a friend in the restaurant business tell me, "Do you know why the price of Chicken Breasts have gone down?" I didn't have a clue. My friend said because of the Buffalo Wings craze that's hit America. Meat producers make so much money on selling chicken wings, that the Breast meat prices have to be reduced in order for this type of meat to be sold. Imagine that; the worst part (highest fat, skin etc.) of the chicken has taken top honors. Plus I saw Diners, Drive-ins and Dives last night with Guy Fieri. he was eating a "deep fried" Pork Belly sandwich..... hmmmmm so good! Brother this is money!!!! Plus, there was the Fried "pate de foie gras" (Goose/Duck liver forced fed with corn) with french fries, where the cook would fry the "pate" and dredge the french fries with the fat drippings from the pan. Wow! talk about a heart stopper! This is typical of our diets. Am I preaching to the choir or what? Medications like Vascepa are really needed to surmount this growing trend of over eating, lots of fatty foods, that's being given "Hollywood" approval. "Yes, Margaret, there is a spot for Vascepa in our lives." Way go Jesse, keep up the fight......
Freedom of speech? That's how the Yahoo board started to decline too. Sublety at first then bam the flood gates opened with all these "Freedom of Speech" posters "soft bashers" posting half truths, old data on and on..... Granted yes, name calling, harassment is grounds for deportation, but, ask any new member here why they moved over from Yahoo to here? It was because of all the nonsense. Freedom of speech? Freedom to be a pain in the patootie."
OT, my heart goes out to all University of Kansas fans, I thought they would make the Final Four. Go Wichita State.... University of Arizona Fan myself.
GLTA
Jesse; I thought James Murphy's comment about Insiders sales was too over the top. Sounded too much like a basher post to me. Plus I agree the pouting little boy "liar, liar" posts begin What does it take to remove these posters from IHub? Posts like his is not the reason I came to IHub. I came for logical, constructive discussion not someone soft bashing Amarin Mgt. there is no reason for that. Amarin mgt. has been totally above board.
Comparison looks good, but, this author is comparing Apples to Oranges. Since he was writing about SUPN a pharmaceutical but different in that it doesn't have the market size that CV drugs have. I guess he needed something to show High & Low. It would be interesting to have someone do this for Vascepa launch and compare say; Lovaza, Lipitor, Crestor launches. Thanks for posting it though.
Thanks Harpooner: So 1406 scrips for 3/15 week is almost a 15% increase over last weeks 3/8 week of 1223. Cool, seems as though we're headed in the right direction. What was the market expecting?
Does this 1406 include refills? I saw someone mention there were 150 refills. If that's the case then there's only 1256 news scripts, which lowers this number from 1406 to 1256, this is only a 2.6%. Doesn't make any sense. I thought the Light House folks only put out news scripts and didn't muddy the waters?
Thanks Zuman: Had to look up who made Atorvastatin: It's Lipitor....doh: Pfizer, hmmmmm ring any bells?
I had my first blood screening results come in last week; Cholesterol levels 226, Trigs 246, LDL-C 137, HDL 40, Fasting Blood sugar 95. No history of Heart Disease, CVD, I made an appointment to see a PCP for the first time ever (new Doc) for ol mister finger, hope he has long skinny ones..... :D). I'll bring him my blood test results and go from there.
I will use Jesse's tactic to see if he will prescribe me Vascepa "off-label". I do not want to go on a Statin. If I'm forced to then I want to go on Vascepa too. I'd much rather just go on Vascepa, do some exercising, cut back on the sausages.
Take care, wish me luck,
Nuke
Not as ridiculous as the Yahoo Message Board. At least here I could read more than 3 - 4 posts because I had so many posters on ignore it was a ridiculous waste of time.
I'm also noticing a lot of features the old YMB took away are alive and well on IHub. Posting links, seeing historical posts, being able to review all replies chronologically. I'm beginning to think YMB wanted it that way as perhaps their system was becoming way too cost prohibitive. At least here there are board moderators.
You're going to have some mis-guided posters here and perhaps spammers, but from what I can see, IHub is a breath of fresh air.
Thanks for the nice welcome JL, Kaylawa and STS66. No need to worry about negativity from me. JL and I always thought your real name was Jesse Livermore.... ha ha. What I find interesting with AMRN trading in this range is the up and down. Great for short term traders...until POP, there she blows and it's hard to catch a runaway train, just like you said.
The main reason I'm holding AMRN is for the big pay day of course. But, what is intriguing is Vascepa (IMHO) has a much higher potential than even I realize. American diets are so crappy really. Think about it, "Happy Meals" with a soda for the kiddies, a Giant Angus Burger with Mushrooms and Swiss Cheese with a dollop of Mayonnaise that would choke a horse, with a soda of course and Biggie Fries or maybe a milkshake, followed by a Blizzard at your favorite DQ. Come on folks, you know it's true. This is exacerbated by the Food Network...Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. How about Man vs. Food? Now there's a heart attack waiting to happen.
Back to AMRN, I don't have any idea when the big POP will be, but I can tell you it will happen. Americans are a pill popping society too. I owned a couple of companies where I thought the company was stagnant going no where, then sold all, then bam! Gone! Too numb to react to what was happening. Even when I saw it happening I didn't react, by then it was too late. Shoulda, woulda,coulda... I had sold before the big run-up, thinking there was another investment that was going to POP. I'm not about to let this opportunity get away, think smarter. The naysayers can have their day, in the end we win.
Hi Doc (JL) and Kaylawa, finally decided to add IHUB to my diet. Liked reading yours and JL posts over on the YMB so, I will be lurking here to see what is said and get a better perspective. I found myself being lowered to the level of the YMB bashers, something I didn't quite like. Also I had so many people on ignore, there were no posts to read or contribute without being bashed. Kinda missed seeing JL's posts and recently I've noticed a few others are migrating over here. No charge for under 3 posts per day. I can handle that. I seem to like the IHUB format, it reminds me of the "RAGING BULL" message boards I used to frequented years ago.
GLTA,
Nuke
