GMTA... lol. I liked this stock and the potential, just got discouraged trying to follow the boards on RB, so I just stopped watching it. But now that I know about this board, I'll put it on my favorites and keep an eye on any developments.

I'll give it a try in the morning. I noticed that sometimes somethings in the grid are bordered with either red or green, can you tell me what that means? tia

Any recent updates on what's going on with this company? I've held some shares for a long time and lost track since I couldn't stand trying to follow the RB board. tia

re: QuoteTracker
Actually the reason I wasn't getting any quotes on QuoteTracker was because my security package was interferring. When I turned it off, it works fine now. BTW, QuoteTracker Help via email is EXCELLENT! Not only did they respond very promptly, they helped me narrow down the problem fairly quickly.
Sara : )
Matt... Wow! That was fast! I'm impressed how you really listen to everyone's input and implement things so quickly.
I've been hanging out over here at IHub more and more... there are so many good boards loaded with good information, lots of good DD and people willing to share their knowledge and be helpful. Also, I think the Chairman concept works pretty well, most the boards have a cooperative atmosphere.
Have a good evening!
Sara
>>I'll see what I can whip up for you tonight
Thanks Matt!
Sara : )
As you well know, I posted negative information about a company that truely was suspect. I was hounded and attacked and called every name in the book by posters on that board. I posted links to ASC hearings, links to their own websites encouraging people to try them and see how they did not work, links to the case against the principals in criminal court and links to news articles about their trial. Those were factual posts and I avoided making it personal or making personal attacks.
If you notice my posts on this board, they are not cheerleading type posts. I fully acknowledge that ASTN is risky and at a critical juncture. My point is I look for whatever the facts are about a company which ever way they lead.
In conclusion, I would support you 100% IF after reading your posts I felt there was solid evidence to what you are saying, but I have not seen that from you. You have not proven your points, just blasted us with old news, mob news, fraud news, trying to associate any negative thing you can dig up with ASTN when there is no clear connection. IMO you have made slanderous statements against the company and it's CEO. My hope is that ASTN can prove that in court.
Sara
Suggestion: Born on Dates
I'd like to see "born on dates" on profiles so that one can get an idea whether someone may have been recently fabricated for questionable purposes or if they've been around a while.
Did you decide on the name for "Hot link/board/list/topics"?
Take care,
Sara
"The fact that companies have stated that they want to sue me means that I'm posting the truth and it really bugs them and they're bad businessmen. Only bad companies threaten to sue or sue posters."
A perfect example of your faulty logic. It's like your "CEOs are suppose to lie" post. You see conspiracy and fraud everywhere.
Sara
LOL... good quote by W.C. I love my kids too... but I could really live without going through those teen years : ) The good news is once they are past that, it's a joy to have them around.
And I hope you're right about the economy.
Sara : )
I posted the factual Civil Docket, people should read that for the facts. They should not rely on your twisted interpretations. Nobody has "lost" anything yet. The fact that you are being sued by ASTN speaks volumes. The fact that other companies have also threatened to sue you, indicates this is a pattern with you. IMO, ASTN has every right to sue.

"Financials are typically the first stocks to gain favor in a bull market."
It'll be interesting to watch which way things go... maybe all this reflects economic uncertainty. From what I've been hearing on the local news, Silicon Valley is cooling down... less traffic... layoffs... home prices stabilizing and even dropping a little. I work for a software development company and just a year ago we couldn't hire anyone because the market was so tight. Now we get quite a few qualified candidates to fill openings. And then we have the power crisis here in CA, I'm personally a little concerned about the economy in general... or is all the money just flowing from CA to TX? lol
Reminds me of a good one liner:
"If the nation's economists were laid end to end, they would point in all directions." -- Arthur "Red" Motley, American publisher and president, U.S. Chamber of Commerce

You're opinions Mary are biased by the fact ASTN is suing you.

Interesting article... I wonder why funds are buying gold? Is that a bad sign for the economy in general? Also, that's an interesting website about mining in general... including my favorite... diamonds : )
Sara
"If you need some help with it just let me know."
Thanks! I'll watch and see if Monday morning they don't show up.
Actually, I play pennies as a side line to my main portfolio, so I'm interested in all aspects of TA and Fundamental Analysis. In the past I have done best with Fundamentals and a little luck... buy and hold type strategy for the most part (for instance, my best performer last 12 mos was LEH). I think my biggest weakness is being too diversified. But TA is very intriging to me and I'd like to find a style that works for me. The more I learn, the better I feel my odds are at success... so I really appreciate boards like this one packed full of good info.
...off to softball!
Sara : )
Dial up is probably why I'm having a problem. thanks.
Sara : )
seeing accumulation...
"Most of the trades yesterday were either white or green, IMHO the stock is being accumilated and mostly by market makers at least yesterday."
Ahhh... now I know why I couldn't see it... you have to be able to see the buys and sells and trades. Thanks for the explanation... I think I need to get level II.
Sara
Muel,
I tried logging into my Ameritrade account and still didn't get any quotes. Are you on dial up? I'll figure it out eventually.
Sara
Arch,
Thank you : ) GEMM is worth watching this summer. And great article you posted below about Steve P... good reading.
Sara
re: Accumulation
I've seen alot where people talk about "seeing" accumulation and I've never been quite sure what that means. Could someone explain how you spot it? tia
Sara
Muel,
Are you talking about where it asks you to set up trading accounts? I haven't set up one of those since I don't have an account with the two options. But I have chosen a "site" near the top of the page and hit menu and setup up my password under DataSources/Proxy and then Quotes.
Do I have to use Datek to get it to work?
Sara
re: QuoteTracker
Downloaded it, got it installed. Managed to setup a portfolio and indices. I used Ameritrade as my quote source but I don't see any prices coming through. I also tried ETrade, which I also have an account with, but it didn't work either. So... I must not be doing something to get the quotes to come through... any ideas?
Sara
Thanks for all the great information on this board. Muel pointed me here and I've been reading on and off since mid day... my head is spinning from all the info here.
Sara
Welcome : )
Darn it dropped back to 30% at the end, but that's still ok. I've been watching GEMM since last fall... it tends to have nice spikes but is hard to hit short term because of low volume. *IF* they get the mining operational this summer and start harvesting those diamonds... it *could* pop nicely. From what I've heard, they are waiting on licenses from the local government.

>>If it is a %, it would be a number that represents the respective % of posts that that board has made up for the whole site for that second in time...<<
Not too confusing, I get it now and it makes the most sense to me. The percentage could be significant if it was, for instance, 90%. If the percentages are closer together and lower, that's not as significant, but either way gives a person the correct idea about *how* hot a board is.
Sara
RE: Hot!
Yes I like 'Hot Lists!' or how about Hot Topics!
(although I think that's also the name of a clothing store).
When you do the Hot Board List, will you be showing the percentage next to each board?
Sara
GEMM up 90% today on low volume. eom
"I say 20, for now."
All of it sounds great to me! Looking forward to seeing it.

Will any boards be excluded or will all be elligible? How many will you list?

Hi muelhead,
I was looking for a biotech board on IHub and here it is and here you are again : )
I have a couple favorites, but my top performer for the last 12 months was on GNTA (84% according to my quicken data). So here's a little DD on Genta:
Summary

The Company's lead antisense compound, Genasense, is in late-stage clinical trials for treatment of melanoma, multiple myeloma and chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
