RMB; ordered two bottles (60 days supply), saved on shipping. I'll try it for 60 days, if I start growing a third eye, I'll let you know..... :D)
As long as it wasn't from Nuclear Carp from Chernobyl I should be ok.......
Thanks RMB; I might consider ordering some. Do you have any idea where Carlson gets its EPA from? S&H is $4.99 USPS. So the total price would be $34 for a 30 day supply. At least its an alternative to my Obamacare plan ($120/month premium for what?). I went to get an xray on my neck on Monday. The receptionist said have a seat while we look up your coverage. A few minutes later, she calls me up and says; "sir your xray will cost you $170" after your 10% reduction. My neck suddenly started feeling better....
30 days worth of Vascepa from Wally World (Walmart) will cost me $223 minus the $70 rebate = $153..... I look at it like this; I used to put Premium gas in my truck, I changed over to Regular gas and I found no difference in performance whatsoever.
Show me the ad; Just looked up Carlson Elite EPA Gems, didn't see their 1000mg EPA. Only the 1250 mg Omega 3 with 400 mg EPA and 500 mg DHA.
I've seen Risperdol on TV Ambulance chaser (ads). Risperdol causes Gynocomastia in boys (boy boobs) they say. A far cry from Vascepa which has no side effects whatsoever. Nah, I think I'll stay with Vascepa's chances of turning the FDA's deaf ear.....
Not that it means much; I gave a 30 day supply of Vascepa to a friend, shortly after his pancreatic cancer surgery. The docs took most of his pancreas. He's a type 1 diabetic. Yesterday he had a full series of tests. The head of Oncology paid him a visit as he was amazed at his recovery. He (doc) had never seen someone as old recover so quickly and show such positive recovery. God works in mysterious ways.....
Ha ha good one Funny; Watching Amarin is like being at a baseball game in the 2nd inning. I thought maybe some deviation might break the monotony. Next is Router skills. Like how the FDA reamed Amarin with a roundover bit. :D)
Kiwi tell you what. I'll compromise with you and use 120 grit.Smooth as a babies you know what.....:D)
Hi sts: Yes, you are correct, Utility companies offer rebates to customers buying Energy Star appliances. Usually as a result of Corporation Commissions who set utility rates. But how much has your utility bill gone down? Nada.... it has gone up. Yes, Utilities may defer building Base load stations, but, power consumption continues to rise along with pricing. Good for me (utility stock owner) bad for you (consumer). Just keep paying that bill ok? Thanks.
As for Amarin's support of the Local community throught Walk the Talk or Walk the Dog or it is Wag the Doc? Just kidding man.... This venture will be great for Amarin PR. Amarin will get its name plastered all over these posters throughout a city near you. People will ask WTF is Amarin? They will look it up and be amazed. Hopefully the website is prepared for the mass of humanity..... :D)
Go Amarin the little train that could.......
Thanks Stockman: Walk with a Doc website: http://www.walkwithadoc.org/our-sponsors/
Pretty cool, looks like the WebMD website. I wonder if there's any affiliation? Amatrin gets a twofer; Great move by Thero, money spent here is tax deductible and Amarin gets its name posted all over the place with all the other sponsors. Lots of Local community walks planned.
Kind of reminds me of Utility company ads touting to save energy by buying high efficiency appliances. Makes the Utility companies look like "Good Guys" thinking that they really do care about your energy bill. Yet the utility bills keep going up and up, why is that? Because people are buying more and more appliances, computers, TVs, high efficiency AC units and running them at lower temps, thinking all along they're saving energy when in reality they are spending more by running more appliances.
Smart move Thero...... :D) more applications ahead for Vascepa use.
CBB: Watched a show on PBS last night about the development of Aspirin. Aspirin was also very slow on the uptake even though it showed alot of promise early in its development. It didn't have the side affects most people had when they took salycylic acid (developed from tree bark) Heck, the science of alleviating pain and suffering from fever and sickness was overwhelmingly needed. One lab early on discovered Heroin and started to market Heroin to the public as a pain reliever. Not knowing the after effects it would cause. This was back at the turn of last century 1911.
Bayer Company (Germany) first discovered Aspirin, I fell asleep half way through. Bottomline is not all miracle drugs are miracle drugs right out of the starting gate unless you have Big Pharma pushing them. $Billions$ are spent on advertising.
Compliments from Mr. Keystone Yahoo MB:
03/20/2015 SCRIPTS.03/20/2015 SCRIPTS
Vascepa
TR x: 10,789 (down 1.8% from 10,979 prior week)
NR x: 4,847 (down 2.6% from 4,976)
For comparison...
................Lovaza............................................................Generic Lovaza
TR x:......7,977 (down 10.4% from 8,902)............... 65,479 (down 0.7% from 65,958)
NR x: .... 2,457 (down 7.6% from 2,659)................ 26,995 (down 0.4% from 27,095)
If my gut tells me, I'm thinking the past two weeks has been down, is due to Obamacare kicking in. If one persons opinion means anything, my script cost has increased 3 fold from $120 co-pay to $575 out of pocket. This puts a chill on scripts me thinks...
Raf: It's not psychological. The pain is caused by inflammation. One of V biggest qualities. The EPA in V increases Seratonin levels in the brain. So, V is like an anti-depressant. As for your back cracking can't explain that. Although I do admit my back used to hurt after working hard, not so much anymore. I have noticed some narcolepsy coming on, although I attribute that to too much work and no play. Hold these thoughts and let us know in a year. Good Luck.
Nuke
Ricardo; Why don't you do us all a favor and sell.... Thanks.
Zuman: Don't know if your old enough to recall the Polio vaccine program back in the late 50's early 60's. Polio vaccine was administered via injection to babies and young children. Then I recall going to the local High school (North High, Phoenix, AZ) 1962? And being administered polio vaccine via sugar cube. This was administered three times over a about a years time.
These big companies are no dummies, if PCSK9 is all it's touted to be, it could become a Wall St. darling. Just because it's administered now via injection doesn't mean it always will be.
I see Vascepa becoming like Tylenol. The formulary is so simple (one ingredient from nature) and so natural. The body accepts it like mothers milk. It is like the panacea that will change everything.
I don't wear contact lenses.... sorry. I know a few NRC Inspectors, does that help? I know a guy who posed as a FBI Pizza delivery guy. Sorry Bio, I know no one in the FBI. I did have a relative who was killed in the Valentines Day massacre in Chicago. Closest I want to be with the law... :D)
I went to high school with a guy who is now Phoenix Police Detective.
Sorry, looks like we wait for the verdict, just like everyone else....?
Thanks Bio; Always been around just not much to say I guess. I must commend you on all of your hard work keeping the board informed. This latest NCE decision (if favorable for Amarin) only solidifies my belief in V.
I got my yearly incentive and tax return so I picked up more shares of Amarin stock. Just a waiting game now. I'm not letting this one go for sure. When Amarin starts firing on all cylinders then we'll all be amply rewarded as we should be.
As for my taking of Vascepa, never felt better. I feel like I'm 30 in a mid 60 year old body. One thing I have noticed over the 2 years I've been taking V is my mental focus has improved. Which says a lot. My mother had dementia, but my dad was sharp as a tack until the day he died. I don't forsee me getting Alzheimers if I continue to use V. No more Anxiety attacks.
As for my daily intake and the cost of V going up for me. I'm considering cutting back to 2 grams per day. Heck, half the time I forget to take my nightly dose anyway. Along with a change in diet (more veggies, less meat), more wine, eat more fruit.
Take care, I look forward to reading all of your posts. Glad to see things are looking up around here.
High Deductible; Last year we had to choose between two Plans. The higher cost plan $500 per month premium or the lower cost approx. $120 per month plan. Don't have my booklets in front of me. I chose the lower cost plan because of my changing family situation. Anyway, I called CVS they want $278 ofr a 30 day supply, if you knock off the coupon ($70). then it comes to $208. $837 for a 90 day supply (CVS). So, I called Wally World... $243 & $720, which puts me in the ballpark @ $163 for 30 days. I'll call COSTCO no longer a memeber and Sam's Club. Looks like why have insurance? unless I get hit by a truck, have a heart attack....whatever. My medical coverage sucks big time. Do you pay me now or later. What? You wants your meds and you have a job.....well do I have the deal for you...... Criminy, its cheaper to eat Wild Salmon..... Kabobs anyone?
Okay, need help; I just got "Boned" by Obamacare. Express Scripts wants $2700 as a deductable for "V" drug coverage. Or $500 and change right now for my 90 script.
Here's my plan;
Get the V coupon (Good for $75)
Get my doc to write a 30 day script
Go fill my script outside my drug plan. (a 30 day script should run what $200 - 75 = 125).
Criminy sakes, the deduct is higher than what Vascepa costs outright.
Can't recall my initial LDL. Wasn't within spec I know that. I'm guessing....138? Nothing else changed. No diet (still consume red meat), no additional exercise. I do enough walking and physical projects, no sense in wearing out my joints anymore than they are.
I am considering the wine + Vascepa diet however.
Another successful V user...congratulations Raf.
My own success story using V alone lowered my TGs from 226 to 113 in about 6 months use. Now where did I put my one man's pork chop + Vascepa usage study?????
They don't call me the Dumpster Diver for nothing.... I picked up more shares yesterday. Must have been your shares?
Zuman: Thanks for the report. Looking good hey????
It's been a while, just being an observer. Someone mentioned it is a good sign Baker Bros. took $40M of the $52M stock placement.
http://www.fiercebiotech.com/special-reports/top-7-life-sciences-public-investors-baker-brothers-advisors
It appears these Baker Brothers are in it for keeps. They invest in small biotechs and have made their fortunes in this arena. Good luck to all. Its been a long uphill struggle.
My two cents..... we're looking at the next Netflix. Hang on for the ride muchachos....
What the FDA thinks is that anyone not living in the USA is a second class citizen. Especially Asians, they proved that during ADCOM when they ignored the JELIS study. Any Asian clinical studies, trials or scientific findings done by foreigners except Italian scientisits who design poor studies yet are taken as gospel by the FDA.
Thanks for listing the article Bio. So, all we have going forward is increased scripts and Reduce-It results. I don't hold any hope for FDA approving a label change for Anchor. So, we keep plugging away and hope for the best.
CR, welcome aboard. Been taking Vascepa for one year now. I'm 62, no joint pain except a pre-existing condition with my hands and feet (bunions). V has not caused me any joint pain. It has helped lessen it if anything. From my own experience I can say I feel pretty good otherwise and V seems to give me more energy and has curbed my appetite somewhat.
So Solly, just wondering when Rick Harrison will be doing the Super glue commercials. Billy Mays. That's right. Can't really blame Rick for doing commercials, heck even Michael Jordan sold underwear (Hanes) and wore Nikes. Now, if Billy err.... Rick Harrison really takes Vascepa and is a believer then he should do the Vascepa commercials at a reduced rate. ;D)

Rick Harrison: the new Billy Mills of advertising. Rick is now advertising the old straight double edge razor blade, like the Ginsu knife? The old Blue blade Gillette razor my dad used in WWII. Kind of makes you wonder how effective and believable he can be as a spokesman for Vascepa? Is he a shill or a believer?
If there's no patent yet for Hydroxy EPA then Amarin better put in for one. :D)
Study sounds very defining. It will fall on deaf ears (FDA). Not without saying every article definitely helps Amarins cause.
Whatalane & JL, I don't disagree with your calcs. You're close enough for Gubmint work as they say. Makes sense now that we've topped 8k per week equates to 32k scripts per month. I did get an exact cost for Vascepa from Express Scripts for my 90 script. Apparently, my provider pays approximately $488 for my 90 script which comes to $1.36 per capsule. I pay $120 co-pay. So, unless I'm mistaken this provides revenues of $5.3m per month x 12= $63m annual revs. If break even is approximately $132m annual then V scripts need to be more than double the current rate. Or $11m revs per month or 66,415 scripts per month or 16,600 scripts per week. This is very doable this year. Especially when we get FDA issues cleared up. If Lovaza can sell 90k per week, V can do it too with the right decisions being made. Vascepa fortunes have to change eventually. The tsunami wave is coming.
Maxy: if you're talking scripts, breakeven should be somewhere around 15,000. Some will have different numbers but that number should give Amarin about $160m per year sales revs. Currently we're @ $80m. Others jump in here. Someone posted its all about the FDA. But if Lovaza could be a blockbuster in the Marine population then regardless of the FDA Vascepa should be fine on its own.
Saw an ad last night, some ambulance chasers are pursuing Lipitor for causing diabetes. They labeled it Lipitor/Statin please call this number if you have been diagnosed with diabetes while taking Lipitor. I'm wondering if the other Statin makers are also liabel for causing an increase in diabetic symptoms?
The ad was like one of those you see for Mesothelioma (asbestos) Phen-phen, or the latest one that causes young boys to develop female breasts.....
I've also seen the Larry King infomercial that is touting an Omega 3 product that is supposed to be better than any other OM3 product out there...... :D) yeah right.... then of of you have the salesman who sells ice cubes to eskimos and his female partner. What a scam.....
Wow, for being a board monitor, your popst violates IHub posting policy. I have been banned before for much less.
True Mr. Bill; However, with Photonz patented process of extracting EPA from algae which is where fish get their Omega 3. Amarin would be ahead of the game. Cheaper source for Omega 3 = cheaper production costs, equating to higher margins. This was brought up almost two years ago by ZooGoddess..... really miss her posts on this message board.
Photonz is/was a private company correct?
Thanks Zu; Great find and good article, well written. This still gives the FDA the ability to slink it's way out of any wrong doing by them saying; Based on newly found evidence, that lowering Triglycerides may lower CVE's blah, blah, we the FDA reinstate Amarin Corp. SPA and allow a label change to include the Anchor Group.
Now, to get to the damages part.... the FDA caused irreparable damage to Amarin through it's negligence. We'll probably never receive any compensation for what the FDA did.
Nice work BIO; kudos for having an educated discussion with your doctor and convincing him of the error of the negative "spin doctors". Was your co-pay for 30 days or 90 days? Congrats on getting Vascepa, you'll feel so much better. Now to get your wife on Vascepa.... :>)
Bio: All good stuff; problem is credibility. Looks like Amarin funded the study, hence they put out the PR. Until the market accepts V for what it is (a dam good drug), then this is like a pimple on a you know what. We do need more of these, but 14 patients? I'm banking on Reduce-it to kick butt.... Since the DMC can stop a study at 30% efficacy? Why not wait, unless this is a pre-emptive strike for the Kowa Reps hitting the streets.
I wonder? Since Cramer used to work for GS, I wonder if he'll invite himself or send his hey boy "Adam F" to the conference just so everything is covered factually of course....
Hey zip: that was my downfall, my 401k has a Self directed feature (SDA) essentially an IRA. Run by Fidelity, they allowed me to buy AMRN @ $5, I'm out of money so I can't test your theory but I am able to buy penny stocks. This is a great buying opp. Of course last week was even better.
