Vivo made huge progress in entering Germany! I am surprised that there has been no market reaction! They have an EU partner to be able to bring in product and are moving toward the ability to import from Canada. They have a slow and steady strategy which looks good to me.....why doesn't it resonate with Mr. Market? As a total newbie, I am unsure what to do, time to double up? or go with the market trend?
of course I am not asking for advice, but would love to hear some comments ....this is a very quiet board.
Tampa leaders raise concerns over medical marijuana facility
https://www.abcactionnews.com/news/region-hillsborough/tampa-city-leaders-neighbors-raise-concerns-over-medical-marijuana-facility
Council members and community members in an east Tampa neighborhood are raising concerns over a medical marijuana facility.
Trulieve expects to be doing wholesale. I was wondering where? Are they just expecting/planning for an end to vertical integration in Florida? Are they looking at another market that is set up for wholesale?
Director of WholeSale? Where would that be?
stop shorts from using your shares! Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I understand that if I just put in a limit sale order at a high price that my shares will become unavailable. If you do not, they are in a pool that your broker can loan out to short sellers, which is making them money but hurting you!
This has already been stated on this site, but it is pretty obvious that the Schottenstein purchase of the Liberty Health property in Florida will eventually go to GGBXF (in some form).
Will that be a plus to the stock price?
(GGBXF is also located at the same address as listed on the deed for the property purchase!)
I suspect they will buy out Mad River and perhaps lease the cultivation site in Florida. I have no idea why it is taking so long for this to be clarified, must be some kind of regulation or some technical reason. LHS stated that the .1% they retained in Mad River was due to some regulation (or pending license applications). Opinions?
I have LHS as well as Trulieve. Comparing the two, as of today, LHS is selling 1/3 of the flower as TRUL with only 1/2 the locations (less overhead). TRUL is selling 10 times more than LHS in high THC oils. (Though even they are saying that the growth right now is in flower.) Still a lot more. BUT today the stock price of Trulieve is 22X more than Liberty. That is a huge difference. Discounting the future of who will become the bigger conglomerate (I think Truieve wins that one) just with profitability at current levels LHS is a great buy. Dismissing the future growth scenario, and assuming Tru is accurately priced at only 8.00 a share, then I came up with the following : Based just on flower, LHS could be considered at 2.50 - 5.00 a share, based on oils only .80 to 1.60 a share. I don't know how to blend those two sets of numbers together, but taking a median, it will be something like 1.75 to 3.50 a share. This totally ignores CBD. Just number play here, I am very interested in hearing comments and opinions.
Eventually all the shares will be unlocked. Why do we assume that every unlocked share will be sold? Unlike some other companies in this business, these folks built the business from seed up. It is understandable that they may want to liquidate some of their equity.
The stock becomes stronger as the owner base becomes more diversified. The assumption that the founders will liquidate as fast as possible suggests that they think the company has maxed out. IMO they have a lot of growth ahead of them and even after my investment shows a little more green, I am planning to stay with them.
With three more locations planned for September! The traffic around PC and PCB is really congested considering there are only "like 5 full time residents"! Guess they can split that business with the other dispensaries! And maybe the legislature will eventually set rules for allowing other states patients cards being accepted. That would increase the business by an enormous factor.
And they expect a 25% increase in plants! That puts annual sales way over the market cap? Seems impossible! Does Mr Market not believe them? WTF!
Thanks.
Some information there!
Raising production by 25% means 80,000 plants, wow! Keeping costs low and increasing sells, good plan.
I think this has been in the works for a long time. The board members that departed probably did so to avoid conflicts and keep the arms length intact. There were just too many interconnections for it to be any thing else. I have been thinking of buying a little GGB for a while, and while highly diluted, and some concern if their mall concept will fly or crash and burn, I bought a little. I am staying with Liberty but would sure like to see some guidance about their future intentions and see a CEO! I am still a little worried about a sale at the current low prices which would burn almost all of the LHS investors.
I guess we now can come up with an accurate evaluation of LHS. No more, "how much will Ohio do". "will LHS be a major MSO?". we know they will grow and sell in the sunshine state. If they don't FU on producing quality and remain the lower priced option, they can do a solid business there. Hey, or they are being pruned for sale. The press release is really vague in saying they sold virtually all of their Ohio assets, and then saying it was 50% of 51%. I suspect it is worded wrong and they maintained just 1%. Why?, who knows. Maybe the buyer wants LHS (or whoever may come into the picture) to be unable to enter Ohio again, so they left them with the 1%. I am not a pumper or dumper, just trying to get an idea of what is happening and what will happen. Who has an active crystal ball out there?
For some reason it seems that liberty prices in sync with Trulieve but with a larger swing. So they will both go together. It is interesting to watch if that continues or is purely coincidental. Both seem like bargains right now.
I missed the "option to buy" Friendly Stranger. Where did you read that?
How much is the grow operation of LHS worth by itself? GGB is looking to build or buy in Florida and just borrowed 150 million dollars. And Six months is about up from the Aphria-Seruya/DeFranco deal with LHS stock. Just asking! (And worrying abit, if something like this happened, is this going to make us some money or are the other stock holders going to get screwed?)
My previous post was about Fridays - another rebalancing today apparently is why the volume is so high. Prices holding up good considering so far!
The ETF rebalancing looks bad but I think meaningless. They added huge amounts of CannTrust! Really?
I will put my confidence in the solid performance of Vivo! They are probably benefiting from the CannTrust fiasco picking up Medical patients.
Thanks for the info!
So they own or control 25% or more of the company. So if there is going to be a takeover or sale, it would not happen until after the time is up. $10 million reasons. It is one possible explanation why no CEO is in place. I am worried that any takeover would just net us the pitiful current share price! Guess we will know before long.
I am a newbie - could someone briefly explain what that means?
Sure hope they have a nursery full of babies ready to go into the air grow houses! I will still be in the red for a while, but looking forward to that changing!
I saw that as well. And they have the facilities better planned than I suspected. Three 250,000 sq feet, state of the art, and operating 24 hours a day. Monticello has as much poverty as Quincy, so the 300 jobs are a good thing for the area.
With the new extraction permit - plus the new system coming into place, they anticipate being able to extract over a ton of cannabis a week! Taking their annual capacity divided by 52 is 2115 pounds a week!
Planning the Mass facility conversion and the Quincy expansion probably has left Jefferson waiting for attention......Maybe ground breaking Q4? And once it is totally planned out, IIP might be there as well.
Possibly he was "recommended" as a board member before a 45 million dollar commitment was made. Makes sense to let them pay for the facility and let Trulieve move forward. I suspect we will be seeing more of this as they build out into new markets.
MSO is constantly brought up as the big challenge. With the way the market is evolving, one state at a time, with each state setting their own medical program or recreational rules, it seems that the market for cannabis will always be regulated differently state by state. So there is plenty of room for successful businesses in each of the different market niches.
Craft brewers are strong. And that developed in the face of the established giants in the industry. Cannibas may never have a company like Anheuser Busch. All that said, does the value of Trulieve depend on their expansion into more states? Is the company suddenly worth less if they decided to be regional rather than national? I know it will be a windfall if they turn out to be a Coca-Cola compared to RC or even Double Cola....but hey, there is only one #1!
I am curious as to your opinions. I like the company for several reasons and have a small amount of their stock.
It is funny, I constantly hear that the problem with the Cannabis industry is there are no brands! Here is Vivo who are making great progress in brand building and now with Friendly Stranger, putting themselves front and center with a highly regarded retail concept - building the brands in spite of Canada's restrictions. Smart move. And the lower costs air houses - there is no reason to assume they won't be successful - also a smart move getting production costs under control. Can Vivo license their brands to US companies?
Great news about flower sales! Does anyone know if they are the low price leader or just have the product to sell? I am also curious when the higher profit margin of the oils is discussed - are the much higher processing costs included in the calculations? Dried flower is harvested, cured, trimmed, and packaged. There are a lot more costs in time and equipment with the extraction process. Whatever the niche is - it needs to keep expanding!
I look at the return policy as a brilliant move. Trulieves most loyal market will be first time, (or turn back. the clock), aging average consumer. And the prices are high. The return process gives them confidence to try the products, and will expand repeat customers in the most loyal category - they are really the prime customer group. By the way, you should lock up the silver when your buddies drop by!
The whole flower numbers will look good! And look at the date......near the end of the 10 million dollar clause in the Aprhia stock sell......
I wish they would have unlocked half the founders shares. We could use more in the market and we could get Rid of part of the phobia regarding the shares being on the market. I think too small of a float is the problem that allows manipulation of the stock.
Is this site legit? Offering bud tenders $175,000 a year?

How Pot ETFs Aided by Short Sellers Are Posting Outsized Returns
BY SHOSHANNA DELVENTHAL Updated Jun 25, 2019
The two largest pot ETFs in North America, the Horizons Marijuana Life Sciences Index ETF (HMMJ.XTSE) and the ETFMG Alternative Harvest ETF (MJ), returned over 45% to investors in the first quarter. The stellar performance of these funds, which beat almost all non-leveraged ETFs in North America, was boosted by the help of short sellers. The top cannabis funds have made millions of dollars lending out their holdings to traders betting against this year’s 60% surge in the high-flying market for cannabis stocks, per a recent Bloomberg story.
I read an article that the ETF's are making a lot of their profit by Shorting their holdings.
I don't know how to link, but the CFN news had an interview with Kevin from shark tank, he commented that CBD needs THC to be effective. I don't know where that insight is from, but what Trulieve can sell may put the Hemp derived CBD as something that belongs on the counter of your local convenience store - along with their high caffeine stimulants.
Mass. grow purchase!. Did this make a press release? Odd how buying some raw land in Florida was a big deal and this building in a new market is not. Did I just miss it?
Great! Thanks for sharing both posts.
Anyone find any news from the shareholder meeting?
She is experienced now! Until there is a reason otherwise she is a huge asset.
