NIO $9.67 Nio posts 10, 059 October deliveries stock POPS amid broader China
rally
Nio said Tuesday morning that it delivered 10,059 vehicles during the month of October, bringing the Chinese electric-vehicle company's year-to-date deliveries up to 92,493. Nio announced that its October deliveries consisted of 5,979 premium smart electric SUVs as well as 4,080 premium smart electric sedans. "The vehicle production and delivery were constrained by operation challenges in our plants as well as supply chain volatilities due to the COVID-19 situations in certain regions in China," the company disclosed in its release. U.S.-listed shares of Nio were up more than 8% in premarket trading Tuesday amid a broader rally in Chinese American depositary receipts (ADRs). The Wall Street Journal reported that shares in Hong Kong and Shanghai seemed to be advancing after social-media rumors indicated that China's government may be looking to ease up on its severe COVID-19 restrictions.

The supply chain outlook for holiday shopping : What's in stock,
and what's not
November 1, 2022 5:01 am ET
There is good news. The retail industry reports well-stocked warehouses, and Black Friday discounts have begun, but there are potential setbacks on the horizon
Logistics in general, and supply chains in particular, weren’t something Black Friday shoppers thought about much. Until the pandemic hit and empty shelves were where baby formula, produce and, yes, toilet paper once stood.
Are we past shipping bottlenecks, clogged ports of entry and long-haul trucking issues? How will supply chains and inventory levels impact Black Friday bargains?
There is good news.
Black Friday is Here Now
It probably comes as no surprise that Black Friday has become something of a misnomer. Retailers have already launched pre-holiday discounts, and the National Retail Federation’s latest consumer survey shows that 38% of consumers plan to start shopping for the winter holidays earlier this year than they typically do.
than they typically do.
And 45% of the 2,000 consumers surveyed by NRF and Prosper Insights & Analytics in September said they intend to shop in stores this Black Friday.

Apple and Microsoft market reached their largest spread on record - at
roughly Telsa's entire valuation.
October 31
Apple's stock gained after earnings as company called out strength in iPhone demand, but Microsoft's stock fell amid cloud concerns
The divergent performances of Apple Inc. and Microsoft Corp. in the wake of their latest earnings reports widened the spread between the two companies’ market values to the largest on record at more than $700 billion to close out last week.
Apple's price- to -earnings ratio on a next-12 basis is also higher than Microsoft's in a somewhat rare occurrence. While the smartphone giant’s forward P/E has been higher than Microsoft’s during several days in September and October, it hadn’t been above Microsoft’s before those instances since January 2021, per Dow Jones Market Data, based on FactSet data.
Apple had a 24.48 P/E ahead of Monday’s open, while Microsoft’s was 23.25.
Shares of both names remain down on the year, however, with Microsoft’s stock off 31% over the course of 2022 and Apple’s off 14%. Together, Apple, Microsoft, Alphabet Inc., Amazon.com Inc., and Meta Platforms Inc. have shed $3 trillion in market value so far this year.

Another jumbo Red rate hike is expected next week - and then life gets
difficult for Powell
October 29
All eyes are on what the Fed chair says about a possible downshift in rate-rise size
in December
Economists widely expect Federal Reserve monetary-policy makers to approve a fourth straight jumbo interest-rate rise at its meeting next week. A hike of three-quarters of a percentage point would bring the central bank’s benchmark rate to a level of 3.75%- 4%.
“The November decision is a lock. Well, I would be floored if they didn’t go 75 basis points,” said Jonathan Pingle, chief U.S. economist at UBS.
The Fed decision will come at 2 p.m. on Wednesday after two days of talks among members of the Federal Open Market Committee.
What happens at Fed Chairman Jerome Powell’s press conference a half-hour later will be more fraught.
The focus will be on whether Powell gives a signal to the market about plans for a smaller rise in its benchmark interest rate in December.

2016 This made me [Jim Stone] happy:
CREATOR OF FIREFOX WEB BROWSER BRENDAN EICH WAS KICKED OUT OF HIS OWN ORGANIZATION FOR NOT SUPPORTING SAME SEX MARRIAGE AND NOT EVER BACKING DOWN. THEY THEN TURNED FIREFOX INTO A DOGPILE. HE THEN WROTE A NEW WEB BROWSER AND HAS RELEASED IT AS THE "BRAVE" BROWSER. RUMOR ON THE STREET IS THAT IT IS GREAT, CHECK IT OUT, DOWNLOAD HERE
UPDATE: HA HA HA, HE'S PISSED WITH GOOGLE INTENTIONALLY SABOTAGING FIREFOX AND HAS PROGRAMMED THE NEW BROWSER TO BLOW GOOGLE AWAY!
YEP. To make Chrome look better (when really it was not) Google sabotaged Firefox by causing Firefox to re-load ads multiple times, which slowed it down badly. Google did this by checking which browser was accessing a web site, and if it saw Firefox, Google would intentionally trip it up with the analytics scripts and ad scripts that loaded multiple times under instruction from Google. There was nothing Firefox could do to fix it because it was external sabotage. So what did Brendan do to get even? He ripped Google's own Chrome to pieces, took out the crapware parts of it, and had intentionally screw over the GOOGLE tampering.
HA HA HA, BLOCKBUSTER: THE BRAVE BROWSER WILL TAKE GOOGLE ADS (IF YOU TELL IT TO) AND REPLACE THEM WITH ADS THAT ARE SERVED BY THE BRAVE BROWSER'S OWN AD SERVICE. BRAVE THEN GIVES A KICKBACK TO THE WEB SITES WHO HAD THEIR ADS SWITCHED AWAY FROM GOOGLE. TALK ABOUT REVENGE! THAT IS WORTH MORE THAN A LAUGH!
Way to go. Way to get even!

Tomorrow's Top 25 Today: Kansas State soars as upsets shake up
college football rankings.
After all the dust has settled from Week 9, the debate for the top spots in the newest college football rankings has only become more intriguing. Plus, with seven ranked teams taking losses Saturday, there are plenty of spots up for grabs and the potential for big risers from outside the top 25 as voters struggle with difficult decisions near the end of the ballot.
The top eight teams in the AP Top 25 poll all won, and with Clemson and Alabama off, the voters could decide to keep things easy when filling out their ballots. It's possible we don't see any major changes when the rankings are updated. But if even a small portion of voters decide to open up their previous thoughts on the No. 1 team in the country, we could see some adjustments inside the top three.
Georgia had 31-first place votes compared to 18 for Ohio State and 13 for Tennessee last week. (Clemson also receiving a single first-place vote.) But while the Bulldogs held a notable advantage, the Buckeyes faced an extremely narrow deficit in voting points (1530 points to 1513 points) with Tennessee a bit further off the pace. All Ohio State needs is a handful of voters to react to Saturday's 44-31 win against Penn State with a change at the top of the ballot, and we could see the Buckeyes take over
No. 1
When Florida had cut Georgia's lead to 28-20, it looked like No. 1 was hanging in the balance, but two second-half touchdowns gave the Bulldogs a 42-20 final that is likely strong enough of a result to keep most of those 31 first-place votes. It won't be a stunner if Ohio State does seize No. 1 on the back of its best win of the season, but poll inertia usually keeps these things in order among the top teams when we get late into the season.
The chaos in the rankings will occur outside the top eight, starting with the reaction to Kansas State stunning 48-0 win against a top-10 Oklahoma State team. The Wildcats are slated to be one of the week's biggest rises, soaring from No. 22 all the way to knocking on the door of the top 10, boasting a 6-2 profile with both losses coming to teams with a combined 15-1 record (TCU, Tulane). Plus, Saturday's win against the Cowboys puts the Wildcats in solo second place in the Big 12 standings. Oklahoma State is also certain to see a notable drop as voters are likely to penalize the margin of defeat as much as the loss itself.
While the Cowboys will be supported in their fall by losing to a ranked team, the same cannot be said for Wake Forest, Syracuse, Cincinnati and South Carolina. None of those teams should feel confident in their top 25 statuses after a costly
second (or third) loss of he season was delivered by an unranked team, but the
turnover in those spots at the end of the ballot will keep some of Saturday's losers
ranked head into week 10.
Here's how we think the new AP Top 25 poll will look on Sunday

Michigan Players 'assaulted' in tunnel scuffle with Michigan State
3 hrs ago
The altercation in the locker room tunnel under Michigan Stadium is the second in as many games
Multiple players were involved in a post-game altercation in the locker room tunnel following No. 4 Michigan's 29-7 win over Michigan State. Video captured by the Detroit News showed one of two alleged incidents between the teams, with an unidentified Michigan player being shoved and kicked by Michigan State players as they left the field.
"Two of our players were assaulted," Wolverines coach Jim Harbaugh told reporters. "I saw the one video, it's 10-on-1. Pretty bad. I'm going to let our athletic director, Warde Manuel, address it with the authorities."
Manuel was seen after the game speaking with Big Ten commissioner Kevin Warren, as well as local authorities.
"What happened after the game was completely unacceptable," Manuel said. "I talked to the commissioner and he's looking into it. The police are also looking into it. We'll leave it in their hands but this is not how we should interact after the game. That's not the way another team should grab a player and do what they did. It's completely and utterly unacceptable. We will let the Big Ten and law enforcement handle it, but this is not what a rivalry should be about. It's not how it should be remembered."
Harbaugh said one player has a nasal injury from the altercation, but did not name anyone involved. Michigan State coach Mel Tucker was unsure of exactly what happened after the game. "I know it was a heated game," said Tucker. "Things were heated. We're trying to get our guys in the locker room. We're gonna have to figure out what happened."
